Send us a textWelcome to Celebrate Poe - What Is Gothic - Episode 373 - the first of a extended series of podcasts - at least 10 podcasts under the general subject title of Poe and Gothic literature. This podcast episode begins with a few bars of “Come Rest in this Bosom.” Very calm, peaceful, and relaxing - and a medley that one of Edgar Poe's beaus said was his favorite. You might say that such a relaxing melody is all the things that Gothic is not. And that leads me to one of the subjects of the next few episodes - What does Gothic mean?Thank you for experiencing Celebrate Poe.
You can release the burden of striving: God's love and presence are all you need to find peace.
You don't have to fight for belonging: Jesus already placed you where you truly belong: in the Father's arms.

Daily Voice Devotional With Niyi Adekunle Monday 14th April His Descent And Ascent 1We've been reflecting on Christ's resurrection experience; we have discussed His suffering and deaths and what it means to us as believers and the benefits we derive from these things. This week we want to focus on His descent and ascent. What happened when He descended to the place of the dead, and He was there for 3 days and 3 nights before His ascended. Ephesians 4:9-10 (TPT) says, “He ‘ascended' means that he returned to heaven after he had first descended from the heights of heaven, even to the lower regions, namely, the earth. The same one who descended is also the one who ascended above the heights of heaven, in order to begin the restoration and fulfillment of all things.”After His death, He descended into the place of the dead, some versions of the Bible refer to the place of the dead as Hades or hell. Before His sacrifice, the dead went to the place of the dead. This place was divided into two parts – paradise or Abrham's Bosom this was for the faithful. The other part was the place of torment which was for those unfaithful to God.For three days and nights, He contended with the devil and all the forces of hell and triumphed over them. His victory was complete and eternal. From that place, He ascended to the highest heavens, restoring all things and declaring His Lordship over everything. Now, He reigns over the heavens, the earth and the depths beneath the earth.Christ's journey from heaven to earth, to death, to Hades, and back to heaven—was a mission of restoration and victory. And He did it for us so that we could be one with Him and walk in the dominion He had always destined for us on the earth. As we continue in this study, I pray that you will gain a clear greater clarity of this truth in Jesus' Name.God bless you, and enjoy your day.

In this gripping tale of love, betrayal, and redemption, we follow the intertwined lives of Andrew, Nadia, and their respective challenges and heartaches. Andrew, a bright young boy from Africa, enters Cambridge University with dreams of escaping poverty, supported by his village's hopes. Yet, temptation leads him astray, resulting in a shattered academic journey and a betrayal that devastates Nadia, the princess who believed in him. As Andrew succumbs to the pressure of his roots, embracing a new life, Nadia is left to navigate a world of unanswered questions about love and abandonment while raising their children alone. Alongside them is Jim, a successful businessman whose loyalty is tested by an old friend turned rival, culminating in devastating consequences. This narrative of poignant relationships explores the depths of human emotion, revealing how betrayal can echo through the lives of those we hold dear, all while drawing parallels with biblical themes of loyalty through the story of Judas Iscariot. The story's universal themes of love, loss, and the quest for understanding in the face of life's betrayals will resonate with readers, making this an essential read for anyone who values emotional depth in storytelling.

If you have ever had a deeply moving personal experience with God, you know it can be something that words cannot adequately convey. Perhaps it is deeply emotional, powerful, and moving. The experience solidifies your conviction that what you believe about God is true. You might also believe God "spoke" to you in that moment. But given that there are a multitude of other religions today with devotees who claim to have similar experiences, how can we know that what we have experienced is an authentic movement of the God who is there? This week and next on the Profile, we talk with theologian and literary scholar Dr. Jeffrey Barbeau about his new book The Last Romantic - C.S. Lewis, English Literature, and Modern Theology and how Lewis's thoughts about Romantic poetry might give us some insight about the nature of personal religious experiences and how properly to think about them.Jeffery Barbeau (Ph.D., Marquette University) is professor of theology at Wheaton College, Editor of The Coleridge Bulletin, and a writer on British Romanticism, religion and literature, and the history of Christian thought. His books include monographs, anthologies, and edited books, including The Last Romantic: C. S. Welcome to Bosom to Booty! Where we dissect an album from start to finish, head to toe, bosom to booty. Every week I will choose one album by an artist I admire or want to shed more light on. I will dive into the iconic work of bigger names like Erykah Badu and Yoko Ono to lesser-known artists like Roger Fakhr and Overweight Pooch. I'll explore the artist's background, why I chose the particular album, and hand-pick chosen tracks that encompass the album. This show is meant to bring back listening to music the way the artist intended. Listeners are forced to slow down and enjoy an artist's work as a curated, complete entity while simultaneously being exposed to new and old genres!

One of the central experiences many members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), commonly known as Mormons, testify to is a feeling described as "a burning in the bosom." First of all, we recorded on Brooke Dillman's actual birthday. That was fun. To celebrate, we welcomed our first-ever guest Adam Grosswirth to the podcast. He tipped us off to the disgusting storyline about Polly & Lolly wanting to fuck the same guy...and both basically being okay with the fact that they might just do that. It's a truly upsetting journey, that we only cover the tiniest fraction of. Oh man, the Mac-El-Dee sure loves writing about this tired masturbatory fantasy. They're both in love with a guy named Alistair, who appears to be in his mid-30s. But SURPRISE! He's 16. Look at a picture. You won't believe it either. He's as sixteen as any of the cast members of Beverly Hills 90210 were. Even less so. Anyway, Alistair's courtship of the twins begins with him asking both of them out on one date, because he doesn't want to choose. Also, they're obviously not individual human beings but identical fantasy fucktoys! Seems impossible that someone would ever accuse Mac-El-Dee of being a feminist. We are called indeed to be servants. And to serve God, we need wisdom. We need knowledge, not the knowledge of the world, but the knowledge of the Word of God. When we understand scriptural truth, it changes us. It gives us God's perspective. It understands us, it helps us to understand his purposes, so that we can participate in the things of God. And that's where we find joy. That's where we find contentment. That's when we find power. Some erroneously believe that while He was dead, Jesus went to the underworld to preach the gospel to sinners and give them the option to believe and be saved. Others believe Jesus went to rescue Old Testament saints from Abraham's Bosom. But these views are based on a few misinterpreted verses, and as usual context reveals a very different story. Today we will see what really happened while Jesus was dead in the tomb. This is a public episode. A subject that interests many people is what happens to someone after they die? What will they experience? And is it the same for everyone? Well, we're going to be looking at a passage of scripture in this study that answers a lot about the afterlife.
