Hour 1 We started with love for Baker Mayfield and the disbelief of what the Browns did when they got rid of him for Deshaun Watson. Boomer loves him some Tom Brady, but him sitting up in the Raider's coach's booth with headsets on is ‘B.S.' Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with the sounds of the Chargers beating the Raiders. We heard from Jim Harbaugh after the game. The Bucs beat the Texans in the early game. Aaron Glenn talked to the media and compared the Jets to building Legos. Brian Daboll talked about having to be better all around. The Yankees were shutout in Minnesota, 7-0. The Mets host the Padres tonight. In the final segment this hour, we talked about the injury to Joe Burrow and rumored quarterbacks for them. Hour 2 Gio has no idea what to expect from the Mets the rest of the season. The good news is they're still in a playoff position. A woman calls in to see if Boomer is going to the Bengals Ring of Honor game, as she has tickets. Boomer said he thinks he is going. Jerry returns for an update, but first we got to watch some of the footage from Skratch from our match at Pebble Beach. Jerry starts with the sounds of the Chargers beating the Raiders as Geno Smith was picked 3 times. Jim Harbaugh talked about having ‘multiple guys open' on every down. The Bucs came back to beat the Texans. Aaron Glenn met the media after watching the tape and talked about the loss to Buffalo. Brian Daboll was asked about the soft defensive coverage that let Dallas score to tie the game with seconds to play. JJ McCarthy is out this week and it could be 2-4 weeks. The Yankees were shutout in Minnesota, 7-0. The Phillies clinched the N.L. East. In the final segment of the hour, the Dolphins are a 12 point underdog against the Bills and it's only week 3. If they get whooped in Buffalo, Gio thinks they could fire Mike McDaniel. We talked more about Tom Brady being in the Raider's coach's booth last night. He's doing the Bears/Cowboys game this week and then the Bears play the Raiders. Boomer said Ben Johnson shouldn't talk to him. Hour 3 It should piss the Mets off that they were leading the division earlier in the year and last night the Phillies were celebrating the NL East title yet again. I guess it's possible for the Mets to catch fire the rest of the season and into the playoffs. A caller thinks Brian Daboll's approach to the media will get him fired. We also talked about the resurgence of Daniel Jones in Indianapolis. Gio wonders how Boomer thinks Carson Wentz will play this week for the Vikings. Jim Irsay's daughter has been on the sidelines with a headset on and a clipboard. Gio wonders what's on her clipboard. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Chargers beating the Raiders. Pete Carroll was asked about Tom Brady's involvement with the Raiders coaches. The Bucs came back to beat the Texans in the final seconds of the game. Todd Bowles talked about the Bucs run game. Aaron Glenn met the media and talked about the ‘outside noise' and said this isn't ‘instant coffee' and that things take time. Adam Schein talked about how bad the Bears are, considering he thought they would be good this year. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer did change out the coffee in the back and then he told us Robert Redford and Eddie Giacomin passed away. Hour 4 Gio wonders what's worse, decaf coffee or non-alcoholic beer. We took a lot of calls from people who drink decaf and want to fight Gio about it. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with the sounds of the Chargers beating the Raiders to improve to 2-0. Jim Harbaugh talked about it being a ‘blue collar game'. Aaron Glenn met the media and compared the season to Legos. He also said a season is not ‘instant coffee'. In the past Robert Saleh called the NFL an ‘instant coffee' world. The Yankees were shutout in Minnesota, 7-0. The Phillies clinched the NL East. The Moment of The Day: Adam Schein on the Chicago Bears: Amat ...

Beauty is not a luxury—it's a vital, transformative force that shapes souls, redeems culture, and unlocks the creative potential God has placed in us all. In this inspiring and intensely practical episode, Catherine welcomes Isaac and Emily Gay to “Christian Parent, Crazy World” for a discussion that is anything but superficial. Together, they tackle the overlooked virtue of beauty in the church and in the home—a topic with power to reach the lost and restore what has been tragically neglected in the Western church. Isaac and Emily Gay share their hearts, talents, and hard-won wisdom from years of artistic leadership, ministry, and motherhood. With backgrounds in theater, worship, and church planting, they know firsthand the struggle of being artists in a culture—and a faith community—that too often sidelines creativity in favor of utilitarian metrics. Their mission? To help the modern church reclaim its historical role as a cultivator of beauty and creativity, both in its worship and its community life. Key topics explored in this episode: The Forgotten Virtue: Catherine and her guests outline how beauty once held a central place in the church, only to be pushed aside by industrial-age utilitarianism, soul-counting, and a focus on productivity at the expense of creativity. Healing the Rift: Catherine dives into the history of how secularism, dualism, and fundamentalist thinking fractured the relationship between church and creative souls. A Biblical Blueprint for Collaboration: Drawing from Exodus and the story of Bezalel and Oholiab—the first individuals filled with the Holy Spirit for the purpose of art—Emily and Isaac urge pastors and church leaders to actively commission and empower artists, forging genuine partnerships for the sake of the Gospel. The Culture-Shaping Power of Art: Isaac shares a provocative example from pop culture—Lil Nas X’s infamous “satanic shoes”—to illustrate how the world hasn’t forgotten art’s power, but the church has. The consequences? Hollywood and secular creatives have filled the cultural void abandoned by faith communities. Personal Stories and Honest Confessions: Catherine, Emily, and Isaac each open up about their individual struggles—feeling misunderstood, pressured to produce, and at times outright rejected by faith communities. Their honesty will resonate with parents, pastors, and anyone grappling with their creative calling. Reimagining Success: The conversation challenges the prevailing idea that only overtly “productive” or evangelical art is worthwhile, calling for a holistic embrace of beauty as a means of forming souls, shaping culture, and expressing the fullness of the Imago Dei. Eldon put a $150K line of credit on his house to start eSentire in 2001. No VCs would touch him—they didn't understand services businesses. He worked 12-hour days, 7 days a week for 7 years to hit $1M in revenue. His co-founder coded while he flew to New York on $99 JetBlue flights from Buffalo to save money. Then something clicked: they brought in an experienced CEO who transformed their scrappy cybersecurity consulting into a managed service. Revenue grew from $1M to $10M in just 3 years. They won 95% of competitive deals against Dell-backed SecureWorks by comparing themselves to a local burger joint versus McDonald's. Today eSentire is worth over a billion dollars. This is the raw, unfiltered story of building a massive B2B company without following any of the Silicon Valley playbook—no YC, no venture capital for years, just pure survival mode. Why You Should Listen:How to win head-to-head sales battles against bigger competitors with no marketing budget. Why taking a long time to hit $1M ARR doesn't mean failure. How bringing in an experienced CEO after 8 years saved the company. Keywords (comma-separated):Startup podcast, Startup podcast for founders, eSentire, Eldon Sprickerhoff, cybersecurity, bootstrapping, managed services, B2B sales, Canadian startup, MSSP, founder-led sales, pivot00:00:00 Intro00:01:00 Starting eSentire after 9/1100:03:26 The dot-com crash reality00:05:23 $150K home equity line to start00:08:32 Landing first customer at ING00:14:03 Making up the rules as they went00:19:09 Bringing in an experienced CEO00:22:44 The hamburger pitch that beat Dell00:28:36 From $1M to $10M in 3 years00:34:39 Common founder mistakes00:40:39 Chief survival officer mindsetSend me a message to let me know what you think!

Ben and Brent kick off the second hour by diving into the Blue Jays' decision to call up Trey Yesavage. What are some reasonable expectations for his MLB debut tonight? What are the ripple effects for some other pitchers in the organization such as Eric Lauer and Alex Manoah. Later on, the guys get back to football following Week 2's thrilling Sunday slate (24:50). They debate if if's too soon to bury the Chiefs, what to make of the Steelers right now, Buffalo and Baltimore's case to be the AFC's best, and why in the world the Browns are still starting Joe Flacco.
The Buffalo Bills rolled over the New York Jets in a 30-10 victory on Sunday to improve to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in the AFC East. Josh Allen did not have to be Superman, as the defense led by Joey Bosa and the offense headlined by James Cook did more than enough Buffalo's dominating victory. Spectrum News 1's Andy Young and former Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson discuss how it went down in the Meadowlands.
On this episode we interviewed 3 out of the 4 members of the Buffalo band Cerebellum. Cerebellum are a relatively new buffalo band and we had them on to talk about new band stuff! We chatted with them about their formation, goals and what they are about. They don't currently have a demo out so we used a song that they cover when they play live "Incinerate" by Elysia. Enjoy and if your a listening to this on the release date Cerebellum is playing a show tonight at Amy's place.
Buffalo is coming off a wild comeback vs. the Ravens, winning 41-40 after erasing a 15-point 4th quarter deficit. The Bills are dealing with injury issues up front. Ed Oliver is ruled out. Rookie T.J. Sanders and maybe other young defenders will need to step up. The Jets, despite a narrow loss in Week 1, showed life: a strong running game (Breece Hall), good yards, a dynamic offense under Justin Fields. Betting lines favor Buffalo by about 6-7 points. The over/under is moderate (~47-48). Key matchup: how well can the Jets' front line & secondary slow down Josh Allen, both pass and run. And how will Buffalo fill the gap missing Oliver against a Jets run attack. Prediction: Seems likely Bills win a tight one but Jets cover, maybe final score around Bills 27, Jets 20 / Bills 24-21. Giants @ Cowboys Both teams enter 0-1. Giants stumbled vs. the Commanders (21-6 loss) with anemic offense. Russell Wilson is the starter for now, despite criticism and pressure, with rookie QB Jaxson Dart looming if things don't improve. Giants defense, especially the edge rushers (Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux, Abdul Carter), must impose themselves. Cowboys O-line has shown weaknesses, especially in pass protection. Giants could exploit that. Cowboys are also looking for improvement after a close loss to the Eagles in Week 1. Home opener helps. Cowboys favored by ~4.5-6.5 points. Giants want to avoid 0-2; plus the history leans heavily toward Dallas.
