I am happy to spend studio time with Pastor Phreddie & George Khalil to talk about the faith that it takes. We have launched an initiative to activate John 14:12 in our church, Word Life Church, and invite others to express their faith and share with others. We are going out to grocery stores and asking people if we can pray for them. Our "Go Team" is a group of believers who are taking our faith to the streets. The simple question" to pray for a person's hurts, ailments, or challenges" ignites the conversation to share our faith and the faith available to them to grow in love and trust in the things of God. They are available to experience the real-time effects of prayer. Jesus loves you. I have participated in the outings, and it was amazing that my faith increased as I believed with others. It was an amazing experience to gain faith in the midst of sharing with others the possibilities available to them. Every believer can care about others and invest time and prayer to help others. Healing is for today. Faith is available today. Take a listen to hear the excitement and power of our testimonies. Take notes and bring this approach to those around you. Feel free to reach out to us so that we can help you start a "Go Team" or share your experience to let us know we are not alone. For more information:Word Life Church: https://wordlife.churchEmail: info@wordlife.churchPhone: 602-592-7759Instagram: Wordlife.churchThanks for listening. In this week's episode, we're kicking off season 4 of As You Go with a conversation about overcoming strongholds, adversity, and things keeping you away from a relationship with the Lord. Our guest, Jaana Woodbury, is a wife and girl mom four times over. She is a Tennessee native, who relocated to California, and is now back after being called by the Lord to move. Her background is in behavioral health, but serves now at Rolling Hills as an Intern for our Women's Ministry.Jaana found herself in a broken home as a child, causing her to put her importance in the ways of the world. She struggled with addiction, seeking false validation from people around her, and seeking truth where it did not exist. She had built a false foundation, and found her way back to The Lord she had heard about as a kid. Now, 11 years sober, Jaana is speaking truth into the lives of her four girls and raising them to be women of God. She is following the Lord's new calling for her life, Women's Ministry here at Rolling Hills. Jaana has a heart of service. Whether it's speaking directly into the life of someone else or pushing a shopping cart of water bottles... Jaana is ready to help in any way she can!Listen now to our conversation with Jaana Woodbury now!As You Go Podcast is a part of the Rolling Hills Podcast Network, available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Google Podcasts. You can follow along with the life of the Women's Ministry here at Rolling Hills @rhccwomen. He is firmly about peacemaking and pacifism, soft spoken, introverted, and is known to wear a Blackberry phone on his hip when he preaches. We discuss his approach to communication- right down to the clothes he wears- and he speaks about his work to uplift and activate the voices of women as communicators of Good News in our times. S04 E06: Sheila Walsh on How to Pray in a Noisy WorldSheila Walks is an author, tv host, and communicator with a glorious Scottish accent and on this episode we’re talking about how to pray, because it’s so hard for so many of us in this distracted world. S04 E05: Gabriel Finochio on Theos U and the Future of Online LearningGabriel and Nathan Finochio launched Theos U as a sort of “Netflix of theological courses”. Courses that you might take at a seminary or college, distilled down into about 8 hours of video content and training on various issues, including “Defence Against the Dark Arts”, which is a great Harry Potter reference. Why? Because they want to make this kind of learning accessible in the digital age to all Christians. A democratization of biblical literacy. In this episode, Gabe and I talk about what the church can do about discipleship and teaching people to understand the Bible; that they may experience God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength. About Love and ParentingRodney and Shannon Fouts share three children and they are the pastors of North Church in Oklahoma City. For the final episode of February’s “Love and…” series, Kayla sat down with North Church pastors, Rodney and Shannon Fouts to talk Parenting. While they wanted to make it clear that no one has it all figured out, they offered so much wisdom and encouragement on raising kids and leading our homes well. This conversation is all about navigating activities while prioritizing church, loving our spouses well while we parent together, practical tips for making Jesus known in our homes and more. We even talk a little about the empty nest stage! This is a conversation we hope every parent, every person who hopes to be a parent, or anyone who has influence over children will listen to. They say “it takes a village” and what better way to grow as parents than to take in wisdom from the people around us who do it well and are ahead of us? We are so grateful for Pastors Rodney and Shannon and their willingness to have this conversation. We hope you love it! S03 E14: Andy Bannister on How to Communicate Faith Without Looking like a Jerk or an IdiotOn this episode Dr. Andy Bannister (speaker, author, seminary professor, and apologetics expert with Ravi Zacharias International Ministries) discusses communicating Christian faith in a way that works in 2020. Many of us are afraid to talk to atheists, muslims, or even just agnostics about faith because we don’t have all the answers and don’t want to look bigoted. We discuss what is so special about Jesus, how to talk with an atheist about God, and what Andy thinks about the bus ads in London UK that say, “There’s Probably No God. Heather talks honestly about a time when she and her husband were looking outside of their marriage and how Jesus saved them from what felt like a hopeless situation. She shares about losing her mother, how the grief felt overwhelming, and believing the lie that her “stuff” was too much. Heather talks about how her desire to not burden anyone led to feeling like suicide was the only option.Heather’s story is packed with hard things, BUT JESUS. Because of Jesus, Heather is here today talking about a redeemed marriage that is thriving because of Jesus. The honesty and authenticity in the way Heather shares her story is refreshing and she credits it all to the goodness of Jesus. Evelyn Chavira is a mother of two, engaged to her love, and works in the medical field. On this episode, Evelyn bravely shares her experience with Postpartum Depression. She describes what it has looked like for her in her day-to-day, how it has impacted her relationships, and how she is working to dive into community to make sure she isn’t coping alone. This conversation with Evelyn is by no means meant to be a complete representation of PPD, as we know people experience it in different ways. However, we do hope her bravery in sharing her experience will open the door for more women to be able to talk about it and seek help if they are struggling. Evelyn’s goal is to help women remember they are not alone in this, because she knows the personal struggle of feeling like it was her fault or that something was wrong with her. If you are struggling with PPD we hope you will seek help, and if you love someone who is struggling with PPD we hope this encourages you to love them well.
