In this second installment of our Women's History Month series, we continue celebrating Cele Peterson, a woman whose impact on Tucson stretched far beyond fashion. While she made a name for herself as a visionary designer and retailer, Cele was also a savvy entrepreneur, a cultural influencer, and a fierce advocate for her community. What made Cele's business empire last for over 80 years? How did she shape downtown Tucson's evolution, even as businesses left? What role did she play in the careers of music legends like Linda Ronstadt? We're diving into Cele Peterson's entrepreneurial legacy with Tucson journalist and historian Dan Buckley, who spent years documenting her life and stories. In this episode, you'll hear:
This week on Life Along the Streetcar, we kick off Women's History Month by honoring a true Tucson icon—Cele Peterson. Cele Peterson wasn't just a leader—she was a force of nature. Whether it was advocating for local businesses, shaping public policy, or making the mayor's office take action, she wove together the fabric of Tucson's past, present, and future. Join us as we celebrate Cele Peterson's enduring impact and recognize the women who have built and continue to shape Tucson.

Dan Buckley is an actor with a huge number of musical theatre productions under his belt including 'The Book of Mormon', 'Loserville' and 'Fisherman's Friends'. However it was his brilliant social media content which made me aware of him. Dan makes funny, well observed and painfully true videos which completely encapsulate the highs, lows and all-consuming agony of working within this industry. This interview went to places I wasn't expecting it to so I just tried to give Dan space to talk about his own personal experience without judgement or pressure. We cover the usual sources of theatre demons such as bad digs and haunting onstage mishaps. But also discuss addiction and behavioural cycles that can be hard to break in a sometimes toxic environment.
In this month's new episode, Charlie is joined by actor Dan Buckley. Dan Buckley's incredible journey as he navigates the challenges of Mountview Theatre School, overcoming obstacles and rediscovering his love for acting is such a great listen. Through honest reflections, Dan shares how he turned difficult experiences into opportunities for growth and how he found his voice in the world of drama schools and professional settings.Charlie and Dan discuss the joy of collaboration between seasoned actors and eager graduates. They delve into the importance of respect, training, and creativity in fostering successful partnerships, and how both trained and untrained actors can find their way to the stage. Taking a deep dive into the world of character creation, acting techniques, and the delicate balance between self-doubt and confidence, Dan offers valuable insights into the dynamics between actors, directors, and writers. Whether you're a seasoned professional or just starting out, Dan's stories are packed with lessons for anyone passionate about the performing arts.Don't miss out on this inspiring episode where creativity, discipline, and passion come together in a beautiful collision. It was such a blast to chat with Kelli and Dan Buckley about their recent journey with Data-Driven Fasting combined and the Nutritional Optimisation Masterclass. After seeing her dad battle diabetes and eventually die of complications, Kelli had had a VERY strong WHY. She just needed the HOW. Although she had lost some weight with fasting in the past (and her hubby Dan was sceptical about trying yet another diet), she threw herself into the Data-Driven Fasting Challenge followed by the Nutritional Optimisation Masterclass and saw some amazing results. Once she dialled in both WHEN to eat and WHAT to eat, it all came together with an incredibly high Optimal Nutrient Intake Score! And as a bonus, her doting hubby Dan lost a ton of weight too! In this, the first of these episodes, I sat down with the portfolio class of the school's Audio Engineering program. We spoke on what it means to be a student in a non-traditional arts program, the struggles that everyone goes through to see a dream through, and we enjoyed words of wisdom from class instructor Dan Buckley and Jay Peteranetz, the Program Chair for the school's Media Arts & Animation Program. On this edition of the Word Balloon podcast, writer Paul Jenkins is back to discuss his current work for Marvel Comics, including the current sci-fi story arc Problem Child, featuring Hiro Kala, from PLANET SKAAR AFTERMATH in SON OF HULK, and his upcoming 3rd one-shot of CAPTAIN AMERICA THEATER OF WAR.Jenkins promises we'll see more new work from him for Marvel in the coming months. "I'll let Marvel make the official announcements when they decide the time is right, but In general terms I have three different series lined up. One of them is set up like MYTHOS and the Captain America One-Shots. Dan Buckley had asked me to give some thought of coming to different cases in the Marvel Universe a finding away to tell single issue or short arc stories. The way Dan put it to me was this way. Everybody loves Daredevil and the way Brian (Bendis) and Ed Brubaker have been writing him in with that dark tone. There's no space to fix anything, it doesn't need to be fixed... but Dan said, 'What I want to see is Daredevil's one good day.'...That made me think of 55 story ideas for the Marvel universe... I'll go to the x-men say what i want, and be done with them, and I'll move on and go to Daredevil or Thor's universe...say what I want to with these characters, and move on, while still allowing the regular monthly books to carry the ongoing soap opera."You'll hear Paul views and insight on characters like Thor, Loki, Iron Man, Captain America and The Hulk. We discuss The Sentry and how his beginnings came from a superman/marvelman template, but what makes them all very different.Jenkins also re-addresses his humorous flap with fans over his character Sally Floyd's tirade against Captain America, from the mini series Frontline: Civil War.We also discuss the business side of Paul's career path which includes his work with Marvel, films, computer game animation for smart phones, and other current and future projects.
