Linda (L.V.) Ditchkus has written her whole life. But until eight years ago, her writing was either technical, scholarly, or in travel magazines. In 2015, she jumped into novel writing with both feet. After drafting her first chapter, which only amounted to a few hundred words, she realized she had plenty to learn. So she found a network of writing friends—many through RMFW—who gave her writing tips and pointed her toward writing resources like how-to books and classes. She's grateful for her fantastic writing pals. Being a judge for the 2022 Self Published Science Fiction Competition and a 2023 youth writing competition has deepened her understanding of what makes books and stories stand out. Since her Sasquatch Series won First Place in the Colorado Authors League 2021 Book Awards for Sci-Fi and her short story was included in the last RMFW's anthology (Bizarre Bazaar), Linda plans to stop calling herself a debut author. In addition to marketing the Sasquatch Series, she's recently released the first book in her new series about two time-traveling women from the distant future working desperately to repopulate the world with men.Terrorist factions, a nefarious artificial intelligence, and their own government fight against them. While they struggle to save the unborn babies, the laws of time and space have their own imperatives, and saving everyone they love may be beyond their reach. When Linda's not writing, she leads adventure travel trips for the Colorado Mountain Club and travels with her husband. She's been to more than 100 countries and hiked or climbed in many of those. Linda and her husband live selfish lives (without plants or pets) above 7,000 feet in the Colorado Rockies. ++ Paul Martz has been writing science fiction short stories for five years, though his love for sci fi began decades earlier. When he was six, he saw 2001: A Space Odyssey on the big screen, which lead him to a collection of Arthur C. Clarke's short stories--and a lifelong insatiable appetite for mind-bending sci fi. But his hobbies and interests extend far beyond the science fiction galaxy. He has authored books on programming and holds a data encryption patent. Like all true nerds, he runs his own web server. He recently learned to read braille and can solve a tactile Rubik's Cube. He has traveled the world to view multiple total solar eclipses. He has a life-long interest in music. He has ripped his entire vinyl collection to MP3, recorded his own original digital compositions, and played drums since childhood. Currently, he's teaching himself to play piano. Paul has been published in Uncharted Magazine. He lives in Erie Colorado with his wife and loyal cat. Short stories included in FINGERS CROSSED, NO BRAKES: Where the River Ends by J. Loki survives the explosion, but everyone else has vanished and the TVA headquarters spaghettifies. Loki escapes as he begins time slipping again, taking him to the branched timelines where his friends Mobius, Hunter B-15, Casey and O.B. were reset to their original lives as Don, Dr. Verity Willis, Frank Morris and Dr. A.D. Doug respectively. Wanting to time slip to before the explosion, Loki enlists Doug's help. With Loki unable to control his time slipping, Doug proposes Loki gather everyone present at the explosion back together so that their collective temporal aura can send them back to the right time and place. Doug builds a TemPad using a TVA Guidebook that Loki kept. Loki succeeds in gathering everyone else to Doug's workshop except Sylvie, who has retained her memories. Refusing to help, Sylvie gets Loki to admit his true motivation: he wants his friends back and fears being alone. When everything in Sylvie's timeline spaghettifies, she goes to help Loki. However, Doug's workshop also spaghettifies, as do Frank, Doug, Don, Willis and Sylvie. Loki finally controls his time slipping by focusing on a person. Declaring that he can "rewrite the story", Loki time slips to before the explosion by focusing on O.B.

When you hear the words “fact” and “fiction,” I’m guessing you consider them mutually exclusive. I also bet you would wonder why I suggest to all my author clients that they conduct fact research before they write their books. Here’s the thing. While it’s true that fiction writing is entirely based on creating made up stories with fictional characters in often fictional settings and in fictional situations, something many authors don’t realize is that even fictional stories are based somewhat on real places, situations, and sometimes people. And if you don’t include fact research in your preparations and planning for your novel, you may wind up accidentally offending a group of people or worse, risk potential legal action. Trust me. This is a do-not-miss episode! In this episode, you will: Learn why research is a crucial step in the writing process Learn what types of things you might have to research before writing Learn how to write a completely fictional story based on true events Learn some tips on researching and how to organize your findings Hosts & Guests Host – Christina Kaye Guest Host – Tim Dorsey To learn more about Tim Dorsey and his books: https://www.timdorsey.com/ To join the FREE FB Challenge Event - Best Book Blueprint on 2/22/21: https://f0s9w059.pages.infusionsoft.net For the Best Book Method: How to Write Your Best Book online writing course: https://bookboss-writingcourse-vault.teachable.com/purchase?product_id=2421304 To Follow Write Your Best Book on ALL Social Media: @writeyourbestbook To Contact Christina Kaye: info@writeyourbestbook.com www.writeyourbestbook.com For a Consultation with Christina Kaye https://letsmeet.io/writeyourbestbook/free-coaching-call

This episode Guy takes us once again into the realm of video game lore as we discuss the world of Hollow Knight. As we praise the legends who keep wikis alive, we go god shopping and get bugged out about the brilliance of subtle game design with deep lore. Hollow Knight's lore is unique as most isn't directly told to the player, but has to be put together from old remnants and clues that have been left behind making theorising and talking about the lore all the more interesting. May the stone tablets mark the way. Creepypasta and Scary Stories Episode 52Crawl | A CreepypsataWhen you crawl through the sewers you find nothing but scary spirits to make you scream. The original story.EXCERPTThe air is heavy, stagnant, waiting. The drips and humming sound muffled now. Tall Man retrieves the matchbook, tears off a match, and tries to light it. Nothing – it’s a dud. So is the second one, and the third. Tall Man starts to panic. He wants a scrap of light, now. He fumbles with the fourth match, anxiously swipes it along the striking surface. A fizz of sulfur spells success. But that magic spark of life reveals something astonishing.Mere inches from him stares a pallid face, smeared with gruesome makeup. Blood-red worms burst from the head................Scary Internet Stories | Blind EyesOriginal StoryMusic by Myuu and Purple PlanetThe dark web is a facstinating place and so is the deep web. But what happens when urban legends and the paranormal clash with either? It's murder and insanity!EXCERPTBut our question was answered the next day. The day we were talking about the Blind Maiden site happened to be the night of the new moon, and one of our friends didn't show up to school the following day. We thought it was just him having a sick day, but then the cops showed up to the school and told our principal that he had gone missing. We looked at each other in shock. We sneaked into his house later that day, and we found that on the last entry of his internet browser history, he had gone onto a page the previous night which was only labeled “404 – Page Could Not Be Found”. This disturbed us immensely, but then again, we thought it could just be coincidental.Don't like commercials? WELCOME TO SEASON 2!!!!! The year is 1994, cinema is ready to break into two distinct forms; Mainstream Hollywood vs Independent Film. Overloaded with talent, 1994 boasts some of the greatest cinematic achievements in History. Whether it be blockbusters like Forrest Gump, or Shawshank. Or Independant masterpieces like Leon: The Professional. 1994 is sure to salivate even the newest of movie junkies. Today however, we present our first matchup of 1994. Two films that were spurned from the genius that is Quentin Tarantino. The heavy favorite of 1994, Pulp Fiction takes on the deep seeded under dog, Natural Born Killers. And this episode taps some of the expertise of our esteemed guest, Ms. Kristen Skye Hoffman!

Such systems are so fragile that their desecration takes only a few errant actors. Minor players gone rogue that disrupt the flow, the processes, all function. Regularly-scheduled programming is interrupted to bring listeners important news as the situation unfolds into an event that may likely change people's lives forever. The year is 1998.
There are deep, eerie places. Space in the depths of the earth that we know little about. They terrify us while empty, so when things come out, we are utterly unnerved. But, what if, we are as frightening to those things, as they are to us?Fatal Neutrinos - Whispers of histories that weren’t, futures that mustn’t, and places that cannot be. Boston Redsox fan, Joe McGee joins the podcast to discuss his latest book, The White House is Fake, a fictional story with several unexpected plot twists that will leave you doubting all that you thought you knew. Synopsis of The White House is Fake It was the year 1956 with President Dwight Eisenhower signing the bill for the Federal-Aid Highway Act into law. It was also known as the National Interstate and Defense Highway Act. The law was executed on June 29, 1956 with an estimate of over 25 billion for the 41,000 miles of highway to be built. In 1957 Dwight Eisenhower modified the act to include a Presidential Protection Act. In 1992 Nelson Conrad was coming back from a fishing trip in Alexandria, VA. He walked by a DOT truck parked on the side of the road. What caught his eye was a DOT worker whirling his finger in the air. He decided to run into the woods and become invisible as he blended in with the tree line. As he watched he saw high level military men come out of a passage way under the highway. This was the beginning of something much larger. See how Nelson discovered what the Presidential Protection Act was and how the government has been lying to the American People. Learn why the DOT (Department of Transportation) was involved in this secret since 1957. It wasn’t until 2016 until this truth was to be exposed. This is the story of Nelson Conrad. Tanya Geddes and Naho Ollason check out the ‘Stranger than Fiction’ photography exhibition at the Science Museum, documenting the work of Joan Fontcuberta. The show questions the validity of the photograph by mixing science with fiction to confuse and bewilder the viewer. Tanya and Naho examine the meaning of the show by discussing what they saw.
