Join Oliver as he chills with actor, comedian, dancer, musician, singer and all-around creative dynamo Glenys Marshall! A captivating individual and master of improv, Glenys also has a deep appreciation for collaboration and fostering inclusive communities within the arts. Earlier this year she began co-producing a very successful local variety show called 'Small Fish', which aims to promote a welcoming environment while highlighting performers from marginalized groups within society. After performing on many of the same musical comedy shows, Glenys and Oliver finally got to sit down and podcast together! Early on in the chat, they reflect on their gratitude for having such supportive parents. With Glenys noting that many of her artistic curiosities were sparked by gifts that she received from her folks. This leads to Oliver learning quite a bit about a wonderfully unique and radical musical instrument...the keytar! The discussion later delves into talk about queer culture and the constantly evolving nature of language, before shifting to talk about fashion, Dungeons & Dragons, impersonating accents and much more! Glenys is the author of "PaGaian Cosmology: Re-inventing Earth-based Goddess Religion, which fuses the indigenous traditions of Old Europe with scientific theory, feminism, and a poetic relationship with place." This book was an outcome of her doctoral work in Social Ecology. Her newest book is "A Poiesis of the Creative Cosmos: Celebrating Her within PaGaian Sacred Ceremony," which synthesizes much of her work over the years. On today's episode we discuss:* Glenys' spiritual background, including her conversion to Catholicism in her teens, as well as her growing disillusionment with Christianity*  The "a-ha" moment that occurred when she realized, pregnant and unmarried, that knowing a female deity would allow her to view her situation without shame* What "PaGaian cosmology" means, including how it combines pagan spirituality with scientific theory to give us a new way to recognize and honor Her (the Goddess) as creative life force* Why it's important that we recognize the inherent power in language and the naming of things and life experiences  * How honoring the equinoxes, solstice and cross-quarter days found on the pagan Wheel of the Year can bring us closer to the Sacred Feminine and provides an opportunity to consciously participate in the creative dance of the cosmosShow Notes If you'd like to know whose ancestral tribal lands you currently reside on, you can look up your address here: https://native-land.ca/My book, “Home to Her: Walking the Transformative Path of the Sacred Feminine,” is now available Womancraft Publishing! It was the 14th of September 2007, and the sun was still very much alive in the UK, not yet succumbing to autumn's bite. The Gosden family were all getting ready for the day ahead, the youngest of the family, Andrew, had a little more difficulty waking up than usual and his mother, Glenys, noticed he seemed irritable. Other from that, Andrew went about getting himself together for school and about 8 am was after leaving for the bus. He was observed by a family friend who had been sitting on a park bench not too far from the bus stop heading on his usual route. However, Andrew did not go to school that morning. Instead, Gosden went to an ATM, withdrew 200 pounds, returned home, changed from school uniform to a black Slipknot T shirt and black jeans and whisked his wallet, keys and PSP (PlayStation Portable) into a distinctive schoolbag that had a variety of rock and metal band patches on it. Andrew then left home, and this was the last time he was ever there again. In today's bizarre case, we look at the 15 year long perplexing disappearance of Andrew Gosden.
