This is the last episode we recorded while the Cardinal was in Winnipeg a few weeks back and concludes the epic Randy-does-his-laundry-during-the-pod narrative trilogy! This week's song was requested by Chrissy AKA The Waters of Love! Randy was really familiar with the song and Kev was pretty sure he'd never heard it, so how will this one shake out???If Kev were to title this episode, he'd probably call it "I don't know why sometimes I get frightened" or possibly, "Spiders. It's definitely spiders".The sixth episode in this podcast-within-a-podcast covers Neil Finn's first solo writing credit, "I Got You". Our guest today is Daniel Glass. Daniel is a renowned drummer, educator, and historian known for his deep expertise in the roots of American drumming, particularly in jazz, swing, and early rock 'n' roll. A member of the pioneering retro-swing band Royal Crown Revue, Glass has performed with a wide array of top artists, blending historical influence with modern flair. His passion for drumming history is reflected in his books, clinics, and instructional videos. The project that introduced Daniel to me was his three-hour documentary called “The Century Project” which explores the evolution of the drum set and drumming styles from 1865 to 1965. Glass is also celebrated for his dynamic, groove-focused playing and his ability to bridge the gap between past and present drumming traditions. Go check out all his happenings at danielglass.com, but for now, please enjoy the 5 records that helped shape Daniel Glass into the drummer he is today. Cheers! The album features extended versions of some of their best-known tracks, including "Smoke on the Water," "Highway Star," and "Child in Time," with impressive improvisation, particularly from Ritchie Blackmore's guitar and Jon Lord's keyboards. Fritz Hutchison trekked over on a January snow day and sat with me for two hours to bullshit about music and life, and I gotta tell ya' -- it was one of my favorite conversations in recent memory.I couldn't put a finger on it until several days after we recorded, but there were a number of reasons why I was -- more so than others -- looking forward to this interview. My son -- perpetually eyeing in some fashion or other my calendar of upcoming guests -- made me giggle a time or two about Fritz's upcoming date. And after an oral-surgeon appointment for both of our kids, my ex-wife helped me connect that dots that I know his dad.Neither of those mattered, though. It just turned out to be that Fritz is a charismatic dude with a great sense of humor, a wild world of knowledge in his head, and he's a pretty darn good musician, too, it turns out. It was as if the cosmos was telling me I had a good guest on the books, and Fritz -- even though I managed to just...boorishly butcher his name several times -- did not disappoint. It's Episode No. 103, and one could follow this episode's guest, were one so inclined. He's on the good ol' Instagrams, and he's got himself a handsome bandcamp page, too.Anyway, we talked life and family, musicianship and gigging, recording, and loving music. And we may've gone a skosh overboard in our heralding of Deep Purple's "Highway Star," but...what's a guy to do.During the music-loving portion of our talk, we did pause briefly from shenanigans to mention a few of Fritz's all-time-favorite albums, and those were these:Milestones (1958), Miles DavisDeep Purple's Machine Head (1972)Hammersmith Odeon, London '75 (2006), Bruce Springsteen & the E Street BandBig Thief's Two Hands (2019)Suffice to say that this was a fun one, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Thank you.copyright disclaimer: I do not own the rights to the audio clips featured in this episode. A Review Of Key AI/Automotive Innovations by Qualcomm and Ethernovia Including The Selection Of The Snapdragon Platform For The 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ In this episode of The 5G Factor, our series that focuses on all things 5G, the IoT, and the ecosystem as a whole, The Futurum Group's Ron Westfall is joined by colleague and fellow analyst, Olivier Blanchard, for a look at the top 5G developments and what's going on that caught our eye. Their conversation underscored: Qualcomm Spotlights Benefits of Running Gen AI on Devices. We see the cost of running generative AI models on-device versus the cloud translates directly to the amount of power required to run these models. Edge devices with efficient AI processing offer leading performance per watt, especially when compared with the cloud. Edge devices can run generative AI models at a fraction of the energy, especially when considering not only processing but also data transport. This difference is significant in energy costs as well as helping cloud providers offload data center energy consumption to meet their environmental and sustainability goals. We examine why on-device processing performance of mobile devices has increased by double-digits with each technology generation and is projected to continue this trend, and how Qualcomm's portfolio is integral to optimizing generative AI models across the global digital ecosystem through edge device optimization. Ethernovia: Accelerating Vehicle Data Architecture Transformation. New entrant Ethernovia is charting a portfolio development course that aggregates enormous quantities of data and routing between AI and SoC chipsets, which requires high bandwidth, low latency intelligent fabrics. As vehicle architectures evolve from domain-centric controllers toward zonal architectures, networking solutions must concurrently evolve to support higher data rates of advanced vehicle applications while meeting demand for improved reliability and security. We assess why zonal architectures are critical to advancing and scaling fast-evolving software-defined vehicle (SDV) applications such as Advanced Driver-Assisted Systems (ADAS), autonomous driving (AD) and a rich ecosystem of customer software delivered Over the Air (OTA), including 5G connectivity. Ericsson on Board for Intel's 18A Process. Qualcomm's announcement that the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ will leverage several core automotive platforms from its Snapdragon Digital Chassis solutions stack in one vehicle points to both the growing appeal for automakers to streamline the design of their software-defined vehicles and to the accelerating maturity of Qualcomm's portfolio of automotive solutions. The four pillars of Qualcomm's Snapdragon Digital Chassis stack focus on connectivity, cockpit tech (digital instrument clusters and infotainment), Car-to-Cloud features (think OTA updates), and ADAS (the Snapdragon Ride Platform delivers a broad swath of driver-assist and autonomous driving features). We review GM's decision to power the 2025 Escalade IQ with key Snapdragon automotive platforms and why it sends a clear signal to the industry that it trusts Qualcomm to deliver the goods when it comes to uncompromisingly redefine the Escalade for the EV era.
On this episode of The Adventures of Pipeman, we're joined by special guest Glenn Hughes. Glenn just celebrated his 50 year anniversary of Deep Purple's legendary album Burn. Glenn discusses the longevity of his musical career and his drive that helps him continue touring and creating new music. Pipeman and Glenn discuss the key to writing meaningful songs and how songwriting narratives change as the artist gets older. Glenn Hughes is touring in Florida at The Capitol Theatre in Clearwater and also in Fort Lauderdale. You can connect with Glenn on Facebook at Glenn Hughes online and look out for upcoming tour dates near you. GLENN HUGHES TO PERFORM CLASSIC HITS FROM THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OFDEEP PURPLE'S LEGENDARY “BURN” ALBUMCO-HEADLINE U.S. TOUR WITH YNGWIE MALMSTEEN ANNOUNCED Glenn Hughes, the former bassist, and singer of Deep Purple, known to millions as the ‘Voice of Rock', Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, and the front man for rock super group Black Country Communion, is pleased to announce an evening celebrating music from BURN and other classic hits from Deep Purple's rich back catalog – during a tour that will mostly see him co-headlining with guitar great Yngwie Malmsteen. Billed as “Glenn Hughes Performs The 50th Anniversary of Deep Purple's BURN Live”, Hughes will perform classic hits from the legendary album, and the addition of Deep Purple MKIII and MKIV songs. Glenn's band will feature Soren Andersen (guitar), Ash Sheehan (drums) and Ed Roth (keyboards).'It was 50 years ago, in the summer of 1973, that the BURN album by Deep Purple was written at Clearwell castle in Gloucestershire UK,” reminisces Hughes. “It was recorded in October in Montreux, Switzerland.”Continues Hughes, “We all became one in this centuries old castle in the UK countryside, it felt like Deep were a new band, with David (Coverdale) and I as new members, we couldn't wait to start working on new song. The atmosphere was electric, in such amazing surroundings.”“All the songs on Burn were written in the crypt/dungeon, underneath the great hall. We worked on a new song every day, and we were in the flow. Musically we would play, and work out ideas, and David and I would come up with vocal melodies that would later have lyrics. I remember it like it was yesterday.”“As you could imagine, Ritchie Blackmore was in full prankster mode, Jon had warned me, and he rigged my room one night with a speaker that was hidden, and had ghostly voices delivered to my bedside.”“The title track was the last song to be written. We came back from the pub, and went down into the crypt, and magic happened.”Concludes Hughes, “It's time to celebrate BURN, and I'm really looking forward to seeing you!”GLENN HUGHES PERFORMS CLASSIC HITS FROM THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF DEEP PURPLE'S LEGENDARY “BURN” ALBUM AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2023 US TOUR WITH YNGWIE MALMSTEEN (unless otherwise noted):08.16.23 LANDIS THEATER VINELAND, NJ*** (GLENN HUGHES ONLY)08.18.23 STRAND THEATER HUDSON FALLS, NY08.19.23 THE CHANCE POUGHKEEPSIE, NY08.22.23 THE PALLADIUM TIMES SQUARE NEW YORK, NEW YORK08.23.23 THE PARAMOUNT HUNTINGTON, NY08.25.23 THE KING OF CLUBS COLUMBUS, OH08.26.23 ARCADA THEATER ST. LAUDERDALE, FL09.23.23 CAPITOL THEATER CLEARWATER, FLDEEP PURPLE – THE STORY BEHIND “BURN”Burn is the eighth studio album by the English rock band Deep Purple, written and recorded in 1973, and released in February 1974, the album was the first to feature then-unknown David Coverdale on vocals and Glenn Hughes, from Trapeze, on bass and vocals. The album was recorded in Montreux, Switzerland, in November 1973, with the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio. With the addition of David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes, Purple's hard rock sound became more boogie-oriented, incorporating elements of soul and funk, which would become much more prominent on the follow-up album, Stormbringer.Burn hit #3 on the UK Albums Chart, #9 on the US Billboard 200, and #1 in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Norway. In 2004 Burn was remastered and released with bonus tracks. Coronarias Redig was recorded during the Burn recording sessions, used only as a B-side for the Might Just Take Your Life single in 1974. It appears as a bonus track (in remixed form) on the anniversary edition re-release. The 2004 remix version of Burn was later used in Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock.In 2005 an unauthorized documentary about the album was produced as part of "The Ultimate Critical Review" series. It featured brand new interview with the original Deep Purple Mk III bassist and vocalist Glenn Hughes.Lead single Might Just Take Your Life, released 4 March, was Deep Purple's first UK single in two years. The phenomenal title track started things off at full throttle, actually challenging the seminal Highway Star for the honor of best opener to any Deep Purple album, while showcasing the always impressive drumming of Ian Paice. The fantastic slow-boiling blues of Mistreated's greatness qualifies it for the highest echelons of hard rock achievement, and therefore ranks as an essential item in the discography of any self-respecting music fan.GLENN HUGHES – BIOGRAPHYGlenn Hughes is an inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of the MK 3 line up of Deep Purple. He spent the formative years of his career as the beloved bassist and vocalist of the group and performed on the classic albums Burn (1974), Stormbringer (1974) and Come Taste The Band (1975).The vocalist/bass guitarist/songwriter is a true original. No other rock musician has carved such a distinctive style blending the finest elements of hard rock, soul and funk. Stevie Wonder once called Hughes his favorite white singer. The first important band Hughes was a member of that achieved notable success was Trapeze. In 1973, Hughes joined Deep Purple. The trailblazing hard-rock legends had just weathered the departure of vocalist Ian Gillan and bass guitarist Roger Glover, but guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, keyboardist Jon Lord and drummer Ian Paice continued with the addition of Hughes and David Coverdale.Since 1992, Hughes has toured extensively in Europe, Japan, and South America in support of solo albums. He's recorded four studio albums with the multi-award-winning supergroup Black Country Communion featuring guitarist Joe Bonamassa, keyboardist Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater) and drummer Jason Bonham, son of the late Led Zeppelin legend John Bonham. In 2016 he released his critically acclaimed solo album Resonate featuring the rock radio hit “Heavy”, and in 2017 he released Black Country Communion's fourth studio album “BCCIV” to ecstatic reviews. In 2019, Glenn joined the Dead Daises as their lead singer and bass guitarist, recorded two albums, Holy Ground (2021) and Radiance (2022) and toured the world.FOR MORE INFORMATION VISIT: https://www.glennhughes.com/https://www.facebook.com/glennhughesonlinehttps://twitter.com/glenn_hugheshttps://www.instagram.com/GlennHughesOnline/

The Highway Star dropped me off at Babylon and said real loud, “Don't Bogart that Joint.” I Hear You Now, I replied and I passed it to the Queen of Dreams, who happened to be flying by. I Feel Free, she said, Blow Wind Blow, cuz Livin' Ain't Livin' on the ground and up here God Is Alive, Magic Is Afoot. As for me, I'll Find My Way Home even if I have to walk. Yeah, Feats Don't Fail Me Now.
This Friday in Brooklyn, New York, Cheap Trick, Chicago, Deep Purple, Steve Miller and N.W.A will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Each day this week we are are profiling one of those inductees. Today, it's Deep Purple. The band became eligible for election in 1993 and was nominated three times before this year. They came in fourth in the fan voting, amassing 25.5-million votes behind Chicago, Yes and The Cars. The opening of "Smoke on the Water" is one of the most famous guitar riffs ever created. But the band's classics also include "Hush," "Highway Star," "Burn," "Lazy," "Space Truckin'" and "Perfect Strangers." Formed in Hertford, England in 1968, Deep Purple has had a tumultuous history with numerous members. They broke up in 1976 and reunited in 1986. Two members -- Jon Lord and Tommy Bolin -- are dead. Drummer Ian Paice, the only member on board for the entire 48-year run, will be in Brooklyn on Friday, along with Ian Gillan, Roger Glover and former members Glenn Hughes and David Coverdale. Founding guitarist Ritchie Blackmore will not attend because the current line-up refuses to perform with him. Original singer Rod Evans is also included in the band being inducted, but his whereabouts are unknown. Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich will do the honors at the ceremony.

In the ninth episode of the podcast, Justin, Luke, Noah, and recurring guest Chris examine the band's first foray into their so-called “synth era.” They drop literary allusions to Hemingway and Donne, contemplate Neil Peart's extensive takedown of suburbia, and make favorable comparisons with one album track to Deep Purple's “Highway Star.” And as always, the hosts recommend more artists for your listening pleasure. In 1972, Deep Purple wanted to come off the road and settle into an atmosphere that would allow them to stretch out creatively and better capture their live sound. They headed to Lake Geneva, Switzerland to take residence in a casino right after Frank Zappa played one more gig there. The rest is rock n roll lore captured in the all time classic Smoke on the Water. Containing other radio staples like Highway Star and Space Truckin along with killer album cuts like Never Before and Lazy, this is the album that made it possible for Purple to continue to this day. We discuss the lineup, the relationships within and The wolf's hopes to catch them in London this fall live. Machine Head is 50 and we don't know a world without it!

Cars and motorbikes have forever been a key part of rock'n'roll songs and lifestyle. In the Western world, kids had cars, sometimes borrowed from their parents but increasingly their own. Cars offered status, escape from daily life, and, of course, a means to sex!! When you're in your car, you want to hear songs about cars and driving, and rock'n'roll was happy to deliver. In this episode, we look at songs that talk about cars, the artists who made those songs, and some strange stories about both. Wherein Eric and John explore the surprising amount of interconnectivity and influence between arguably the least and most prestigious of musical genres, heavy metal and classical music, via comparisons of Deep Purple with Antonio Vivaldi and Eddie Van Halen with Niccolò Paganini. Throughout these "Roots of Heavy Metal" episodes, we'll dig deep into the many influences that made heavy metal music what it is, with longer episodes, more musical examples, and even more delightful verbal sparring as we uncover the wide array of musical styles that contribute to metal's vast musical family tree. Episode 50, two to go in Season 4 and we are done. This episode aired on 16 Dec 2021, Beethovens birthday. We started with a few minutes of 'Symphony No 9', known as Scherzo before moving on with Deep Purple and Highway Star. After that is was standard fare with Def Leppard, Metallica, a bit of Megadeth off the Trust album, and a track called She-Wolf. The love affair with Boston and Greta Van Fleet continued and I continued to play new stuff off the latest Volbeat and Black Label Society albums. The brand new Neil Young called Barn and the third album from Negal's side outfit Me and That Man went down very well. The track we heard was called 'All Hope is Gone and featured Exodus / Slayer guitarist Gary Holt, Mantas from Venom, and Blaize Bayley ex Wolfsbane and Iron Maiden. The album is called New Songs, New Man, Same Shit Vol 2. There was a sad moment for me personally as I paid tribute to a very special lady who was very much a second mother to me growing up and sadly passed away this week. I am currently in lockdown as my daughter has covid so covid once again permeated the show in a not so subtle way. Other than that it was a mix of classic (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest), heavy (Parkway Drive, Arch Enemy), and some acoustic-type stuff from The Boss Bruce Springsteen. I ran out of time and just managed to slip in the SA music right at the end. You'll get The Uninvited and the Koos Kombuis classic 'Johnny is Nie Dood Nie' if you hang in all the way to the end. Artists featured: Ludwig van Beethoven, Deep Purple, Def Leppard, Cold Chisel, Halestorm, Megadeth, Metallica, Boston, ACDC, Massive Wagons, The L.A. Maybe, The Pretty Reckless, Motörhead, Mötley Crüe, Foo Fighters, Greta Van Fleet, Leslie Wes, Jonny Lang, Scott Stapp, In This Moment, Blue Oyster Cult, Me & That Man, Scorpions, Volbeat, Queen, David Essex, Hollywood Vampires, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Monster Truck, Black Label Society, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, Van Halen, Seether, Arch Enemy, Parkway Drive, The Uninvited, Koos Kombuis
Deep Purple, Rockin' Pneumonia And The Boogie Woogie FluLegendary Shack Shakers, U-Can-Be-a-StarSteve Conte, Gimme Gimme RockawaySteve Conte, Recovery DollThe Kokomo Kings, A Million StarsThe Kokomo Kings, A Drive-By Love AffairThe Courettes, R.I.N.G.O.Eddie Spaghetti & Frank Meyer, RelationshipwreckMoot Davis, Hey HeyRobert Plant & Alison Krauss, My Heart Would KnowLegendary Shack Shakers, I Don't Remember Loving YouMoot Davis, CrazyEddie Spaghetti & Frank Meyer, You Can't Take It BackSue Foley, Okie Dokie StompEddie Spaghetti & Frank Meyer, Motherfuckin' Rock 'n' RollCorizonas, Todo Mal
Tramp stiller spørgsmålet - og spiller klassikerne i denne episode af The Tramp Way. On April 22nd, 1972 Deep Purple scored their second UK No.1 album with 'Machine Head'. In the US it reached #7. It's often cited as a major influence in the early development of the heavy metal music genre. Commercially, it remains Deep Purple's most successful album thanks to some iconic tracks like "Highway Star", "Space Truckin'" and the song that features the mother of all guitar riffs - "Smoke On The Water".This album is much more than its hit radio singles, however. This is a band at its creative peek. What's most impressive is the songs were written and recorded at a lightning fast pace and in extremely unconventional surroundings. In this episode we'll take you through the band's early history and what led up to the 'Machine Head' album. We'll also get into the creation of the seven songs from the album along with one that was ultimately left off called "When A Blind Man Cries". Plus, hear some of the tracks broken down in the studio and comments from the band members from the excellent 2002 "Classic Albums" documentary on the album.TRACKLISTING:SIDE ONE:1. "Highway Star"2. Episode 2 of season 4 aired on 14 January 2021. I really enjoyed this show, it was a breeze, maybe because for the first time ever we didn't start with a bang. The chilled sounds of Cold Chisel's 'Way Down' off The Last wave of Summer was long a long pull of a cold beer after a hard day. After that, it was all guns blazing for a while. We checked out Texas Hippie Coalition, then some Thundermother, my current favorite all-girl rockers, and then it was off to the classics with deep purple and 'Highway Star'.It felt like a really good mix of lesser-known bands with the megastars, we had big names like Rammstein, Megadeth, Thin Lizzy, Led Zeppelin, and ZZ Top along with Newsted, Massive Wagons, Adrenaline Mob, Hatebreed, Phil Campbell, and The Hitchers. Highlights for me were the bit of reminiscence with Rose Tattoo and Guns 'n' Roses as well as celebrating my current love affair with Parkway drive. Check out Viva The Underdogs it is a spectacular documentary. For some reason it was a very Aussie heavy show, we hit 6 Aussie bands, Cold Chisel, Rose Tattoo, The Screaming Jets (that was fun, I played F.R.C. which I doubt gets a lot of radio play :-) ) The Lazys, Parkway Drive, and of course ACDC. SA was represented by The Diamond Dogs and the amazing Johnathan Martin off his The Infinite Highway album. All in all a great show. Artists Featured: Cold Chisel, Texas Hippie Coalition, Thundermother, Deep Purple, Mötley Crüe, Halford, Newsted, Massive wagons, Phil Campbell, Mötorhead, Rammstein, Alter Bridge, Badlands, The Hitchers, Sex Pistols, Rose Tattoo, Guns 'n' Roses, The Screaming Jets, the Lazys, Ramones, Hatebreed, Led Zeppelin, Joe Bonamassa, Dan Patlansky, The Diamond Dogs, Johnathan Martin, Parkway Drive, ACDC, ZZ Top, Thin Lizzy, Adrenaline Mob, Saxon, Megadeth, Mercyful fate, Billy Squier, Chickenfoot & The Uninvited.

Dave joins Matt, Ian, and Josh for a brief detour about the politics of power behind the great highway projects of history. This marks the first appearance of the villain, Robert Moses, who’s joined by our old pal Hitler in an unholy alliance to bring blacktop to the people.
On this Ian Paice Interview, how Deep Purple started and an early advantage they had, playing with Paul McCartney, David Gilmour, Gary Moore... how Gary Moore inadvertently painted himself into a musical corner he couldn’t get out of… playing in Jakarta with Tommy Bolin, smuggling Ritchie Blackmore out of California Jam in a helicopter so he wouldn’t be arrested by the Sheriff... why the band members all needed oxygen bottles for their Bolivia gig… warm thoughts on being a parent & of his own parents, a few Deep Purple songs where he thought he “nailed it!” (None of them are what you’re thinking!)... how he’s changed over the last few years, THE most important business lesson he’s learned in more than 50 years of performance. TONS more. VERY candid, very kind, total professional! Ian Paice is the drummer and last remaining original member of Deep Purple still active in the band today. Ian founded Deep Purple with singer Rod Evans & guitarist Richie Blackmore, in March 1968. Ian’s also played & toured with Whitesnake, Gary Moore, Paice Ashton Lord, Paul McCartney, George Harrison & others. Ian co-wrote many of DP’s classic tracks, including Child in Time, Highway Star, Lazy, Smoke on the Water, Woman from Tokyo and others. He’s also a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Egbert Schroer was born in the small but historic town of Dorsten in Westphalia, Germany , in 1958 . He grew up with a love of water that has stayed with him all his life as has his love for music, both listening and playing his beloved guitars. Egbert's musical choices cover a wide range but his real love is the big , powerful challenging Rock music (and lyrics) of the 60's, 70's and 80's. . He is also a bit of an anglophile and a fan of Douglas Adams and Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. As you will hear in the episode in 1990 he had his own "42" moment and made a significant and successful career change. After winning a battle against cancer in 2006 the next "42" " moment was in 2013 when he and his wife Petra left Germany and moved to live in Seattle where they continue to live and work today.. Given his German background the Playlist for this episode includes some great classics as well as a fair smattering of Krautrock from the 70's . You will need to cut & paste the link below into your browser - enjoy !https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0IUTo0jbD49wpn2HoQj8pZ?si=zP8HUqrgSNaMgC4lU3N8_wP.S. The day after this recording was made Egbert & Petra celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary. It therefore felt appropriate to add "Ruby" by Kaiser Chiefs to the playlist :-).

Suomi on heavy metallin ja hard rockin luvattu maa. Aina ei kuitenkaan ole ollut näin. 70-luvulla uransa aloittanut Hard Rock Sallinen on Suomen ensimmäinen heavy metal -bändi. Millaista oli aloittaa ura Pohjanmaalla keskellä tangopartioita ja miten Seppo Sallinen päätyi laulamaan Highway Star -biisiä Ian Gillanille. Puhetta myös Ghostista ja Aerosmithistä. Kasarin Lapset -podcastin isäntänä on Vesa Winberg.
This is the ultimate film review of the career of Deep Purple from the inside in the words of those who really matter; the band themselves. Featuring candid reflections then and now from Nick Simper, Ritchie Blackmore, Jon Lord, Ian Paice, Ian Gillan, David Coverdale, Glenn Hughes and one of the very last interviews by the late Tommy Bolin to produce the definitive re-appraisal of the music of Deep Purple as seen through the eyes of the musicians. This unique independent film draws on extensive rare footage of Deep Purple in performance from 1968 to 1974 including performances of Hush, Child In Time, Highway Star, Burn, Space Truckin’, Stormbringer and more.

On the second part of our three part series on Henry Lee Lucas, we meet Henry's life partner in murder, the gigantic and terrifying Ottis Toole and follow the pair on their supposed and probably only half true cross-country killing spree.
This week Larry's nephew Anthony makes his podcasting debut! The pair discuss George Miller's return to the action genre with Mad Max: Fury Road, talking about the film's strengths and weaknesses. Ok, this movie has no weaknesses. After that they get into some other subjects including Star Wars, Fast and Furious and some extensive video game talk. Drum Groove of the Week is Highway Star by Deep Purple and it includes a rant about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. All that plus listener feedback! It's a cornucopia of fun!
