Living a Life of Adventures Life is too short to be spent in monotony. Living a life of adventure means embracing the unknown, chasing experiences that make your heart race, and stepping out of your comfort zone every chance you get. It's about choosing memories over possessions, stories over routines, and passion over predictability. Adventure isn't just about jumping out of planes or backpacking across foreign lands—though those certainly qualify. It's a mindset, a way of seeing the world as a playground of possibilities rather than a series of obligations. It's about saying “yes” more often, even when you're unsure of what's coming next. It's about embracing challenges, whether they be physical, emotional, or mental, and coming out stronger on the other side. One of the biggest barriers to an adventurous life is fear. Fear of failure, fear of embarrassment, fear of losing stability. But here's the thing: adventure and fear are best friends. The most exhilarating experiences often come wrapped in uncertainty, demanding that we push past our doubts and take the leap. Ask any skydiver about the moment before the jump—it's pure terror, followed by an unmatched rush of freedom. That's what adventure is all about: conquering fear and trading it for euphoria. Adventurous living doesn't always mean extreme sports or exotic travel. Sometimes, it's about the small things—striking up a conversation with a stranger, trying a new dish, taking a different route home just to see where it leads. It's about keeping curiosity alive and never allowing routine to dull the spark of possibility. One of the most rewarding aspects of an adventurous life is the collection of stories. No one looks back and fondly remembers the nights they scrolled through their phone for hours. They remember the spontaneous road trips, the times they got lost in a new city, the moments that made them feel alive. These experiences shape who we are, broaden our perspectives, and give us a sense of fulfillment that material things never could. Of course, adventure comes with its fair share of missteps. You'll make wrong turns, lose your luggage, get caught in the rain without an umbrella—but that's part of the beauty. The best stories often come from the things that didn't go as planned. Embracing the unexpected is what separates those who truly live from those who merely exist. At its core, an adventurous life is a life of growth. Every new experience teaches something, every risk taken builds confidence, and every boundary pushed expands what you believe you're capable of. It's about evolving into the boldest, most fearless version of yourself. So, book that trip. Say yes to that opportunity. Take the risk. Because at the end of the day, life isn't measured by the breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away.
Deanna Jenne' explains stopping and becoming silent is an active process which opens us up to greater learning and awareness.
Some consider the swearing in of a new US President a hallmark of American democracy.

With endorsements by Bill Walton and Billie Jean King, Jenné Blackburn's book, Always An Athlete, is on its way to helping post-competitive athletes transition to life beyond their sport. Her research and insights on the all too common struggles of physical and mental health plus loss of identity, which she experienced in her own life after collegiate volleyball, led her to discover 3 pillars that are helpful for all of us. Her website and book offer hope, encouragement, and resources. They also expand on Jenne's determination to create cycle events at major sports franchising games to form a much-needed community for all athletes, an idea born from a bike ride taken while attending the prestigious ESPNW Summit, an invitation Jenné believes was an EXTRAordinary opportunity orchestrated by God, which came about from another EXTRAordinary experience she had at Baylor, working with coaches and the administration to link athletes to outreach opportunities (Sic ‘em Bears!). You'll love meeting Jenné and hearing her impacting stories. Show Notes: Bill Walton died May 27th of this year, and Jenné has a tribute to him on her website. Today's interview is the PURRRfect mix of following your path/intution, not giving up, and on sharing your wisdom with the world. You are going to love hearing all about Cats, Intuition, and Life Pivots with Jenne Mundy CatProfiler: lost cats and cat behavior from CatProfiler.com. CatProfiler was created by accident: in 2003, Jenne Mundy's cat, Katka, got out. Through intimate knowledge of that one lost cat, Mundy was able to guess where she would hide and what she would do. By the time Mundy recovered her three months later, people started asking if Mundy could do the same thing for their cats. Mundy started by collecting detailed histories with the help of the owners. She developed a “feline behavioral profiling” methodology to measure and analyze the data for each lost cat. Mundy eventually founded CatProfiler, where she continues to use her skills to reunite owners with their missing cats. Mundy was one of the founders of Missing Cat Assistance, and she continues working in collaboration with rescue organizations and non-profits throughout the country. She has assisted in the recovery of over a thousand cats and their families worldwide. She also works with local San Antonio families to coach them through any behavioral misunderstandings they have with their cats. She volunteers with local shelters and does TNR to assist with the San Antonio overpopulation of feral cats. Mundy has appeared in National Geographic Kids, Prevention, Iams, Purina, The San Antonio Express News, and other local news. She's been a guest of Animal Planet and Discovery. She currently lives in San Antonio, Texas with two cats who showed up one day and never left. In this episode of Speak Up with Laura Camacho, Laura has a wonderfully candid conversation with Jenne Sevilla, a certified financial planner, about one of the trickiest topics: money. Jenne entered the field of life insurance sales after college. She found that it did not come naturally to her, her tendency was to educate and develop relationships as opposed to sell quickly. After facing the same issue at a different firm, Jenne realized that insurance sales was not for her. She decided to take a position in a support role in the finance industry instead. During that time she educated herself thoroughly on the topic of personal finance and eventually became a certified financial planner. It was after this that she created Money Moods, a personal finance program that focuses on behavior first and helps you build financial confidence. In this episode, Jenne and Laura discuss the importance of addressing money openly in the workplace (and at home). Other wisdom bombs include: - How emotions play a pivotal role in our money behaviors - Signs you may be with the wrong financial advisor - Whether or not we should be worried about the banking industry - What is cash flow analysis and why it's an essential part to financial health - Why as investors it is essential we pursue financial education - Why money has become a taboo topic - The five money moods: guarded, dreamer, spontaneous, generous, and passive Jenne's strategies for bringing up money, even when it feels uber uncomfortable You can learn more about Jenne and how she can help you on her website. Hey everyone, listen the person you're about to hear from in this episode is where Rachel really found the start of her cake inspiration. I'm talking about Jenne from Posh Little Cakes in Perth, Australia. For many of you bakers, your baking career is your second career. You've given up the corporate or day job for one of many reasons and moved into baking. Jenne did just that. This is a story about making that sacrifice of a life as a high flying executive at a large multi-national company. Kid-free and a travelling the world. But that all changed when she had to quit. It took lots of determination, grit, and perseverance to build the cake business and school she has today. It's safe to say making that transition was hugely difficult for an ambitious female where her world was turned upside down. But to hear the story of how she made it happen is just amazing. You'll hear a bit about Rachel and I in this episode, and also we start off talking about cake stands of all things and oh, and excuse the dog barking. Hey what can I say? This is us, this is real life, and we're just happy you're tuning to hear the journey. We really enjoyed this conversation and I hope you do to….let's crack on with Jenne from Posh Little Cakes….Learn more about Jenne here:Website - https://www.poshlittlecakes.comInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/poshlittlecakes/---This podcast is produced in London and Madrid by OLBAA. Having an impact in our neighborhoods and working to give back to those in need is an important aspect of sustainability in my opinion. Today's guests are doing just that - in addition to diverting clothing and toiletries from landfills, these sustainable brown girls are making a difference in their community. Before we get into this episode, I do want to mention that there are dates and events mentioned that have already passed. However, our guests hold different events throughout the year, so follow them on Instagram to stay up to date. Today's featured sustainable brown girls are the ladies of Well Cloth'd, a non-profit based in Brooklyn, New York, founded by three Black women and lifelong friends - Leetah McGee and sisters Jenne and Marien Richardson, later joined by Maya Shelton. With a mission to take the mystery out of donating, Well Cloth'd ensures that recipients receive high-quality care packages, that are curated specifically to meet their needs. Today we're joined by Jenne, Leetah, and Maya. We talk about: - how and why Well Cloth'd was started - how Well Cloth'd helps the community - how their donation strategy keeps clothes and toiletries out of landfills - tips for others to create similar programs in their cities - future goals for Well Cloth'd Support Well Cloth'd: Website: https://www.wellclothd.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wellclothdin Donate to Sustainable Brown Girl on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/sustainablebrowngirl Visit the Sustainable Brown Girl Website: https://www.sustainablebrowngirl.com/ Follow Sustainable Brown Girl on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sustainablebrowngirl/ Please leave a review on Apple Podcasts!
