    Ivy Insights

The Speak Up with Laura Camacho podcast is one of my absolute favorites. The host, Laura, caters to a specific audience of high performing introverts who want to improve their communication skills. As a strong extrovert myself, I initially didn't think this podcast would be relevant to me. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I learn valuable information from each and every episode. Laura's expertise and insights are applicable to anyone looking to enhance their communication skills, regardless of their personality type.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is the variety of guests and topics covered. With each episode, I walk away with new knowledge and fresh ideas that I can apply in both my personal and professional life. Additionally, the episodes are always entertaining, often provoking a few laughs along the way. Laura's ability to ask interesting questions keeps the conversation engaging and helps me gain extremely valuable content that can be directly used in the workplace.

Another great aspect of this podcast is its relevance to corporate America. Whether you're climbing the corporate ladder or simply navigating through office dynamics, this podcast provides essential insights for success in the business world. Laura's fun and energetic hosting style adds an enjoyable element to each episode while ensuring that listeners gain practical strategies that can be implemented immediately.

Although it may seem like there are no downsides to this podcast, one minor critique would be that there could be more focus on techniques for extroverts as well. While Laura primarily caters to introverts, it would be beneficial for her extroverted audience members like myself to have some strategies tailored specifically for us. However, even without extensive coverage on extroversion, I have still gained a wealth of knowledge from this podcast.

In conclusion, The Speak Up with Laura Camacho podcast is an exceptional resource for anyone looking to improve their communication skills. Laura's curiosity, enthusiasm, and expertise make her podcast not only informative but also highly engaging. With actionable takeaways and diverse perspectives from her guests, this podcast provides valuable insights that can be applied in both personal and professional environments. Whether you're an introvert or an extrovert, this podcast is a must-listen for anyone who wants to enhance their communication abilities.

Drastically improve your process for hiring people AND applying for a job. Starting today. Post-COVID the science of interviewing has advanced radically. Today's guest, Anna Papalia, is a career influencer and TikTok Interview Expert that lays so many game-changing truths on us. Because 90% of hiring managers aren't trained on how to interview, they fall prey to their implicit bias when judging candidates and making hiring decisions. Job seekers, equally as mystified by the process, follow stale advice, memorizing rote answers that aren't true to who they are. Interviewing needs to innovate to meet current expectations and the shortage of top talent. Anna shares so many actional nuggets from her INTERVIEWOLOGY book and training program that help you see your personal interview archetype, and then that of others. Our biases are born from our preferences. She calls “charmers” those who see an interview as a performance—it's a stage and they enjoy being the star of the show. Another type, Challengers, see an interview as a cross-examination, and want their questions answered. Examiners are those who see an interview as a pass/fail test and Harmonizers see an interview as a tryout for a team that they want to join.
