Within hours of the men heading over to Casa Amor, a video emerged online, allegedly of one of the new bombshells using the N-word in a years old Snapchat post. In the unverified video, it appears 21- year-old Alannah Keyser sings the N-word while dancing inside a car during a night out in Miami. Even before the video was released, fans of the show were commenting that Keyser made out with all of the white islanders, but refused to kiss the three black men, even telling K.C. at one point, “That’s all you get. Hand off, boy.” There are also screen shots popping up online reportedly of a Keyser TikTok comment from nearly 2 years ago where she uses a racial slur for the word “Nigerian” See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Five years ago, the American retirement system faced a "cascading collapse" that threatened to wipe out the hard-earned security of union households nationwide. Today, the Butch Lewis Act stands as a landmark victory for organized labor. On this episode of America's Work Force Union Podcast, host Ed “Flash” Ferenc sits down with Austin Keyser, International Vice President for the IBEW 4th District. Keyser provides an insider's look at the high-stakes battle to pass the Act and why it was about much more than just a "bailout." In this episode, we discuss: The Breaking Point: Why the shift in the trucking and industrial sectors created "orphaned" pension obligations. The Firewall Effect: How the Butch Lewis Act prevented a downward spiral that would have bankrupted the PBGC and healthy pension plans alike. Restoring Dignity: The story of retirees who saw their previous benefit cuts reversed and were made whole again. The Legislative Fight: The role of former U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown and the coordinated union pressure that finally broke years of Washington gridlock. The Future of Retirement: Why the Butch Lewis Act provides a blueprint for expanding and strengthening defined benefit plans for the next generation of workers. Directed by Jack Gold and adapted from the Peter Van Greenaway novel, The Medusa Touch is a quintessential piece of seventies British cinema that sits at the dark intersection of the disaster movie and the occult thriller. The film follows the investigation into the apparent murder of John Morlar, played with volcanic intensity by Richard Burton.Richard Burton is the undeniable gravitational centre of The Medusa Touch. Despite Richard Burton only filming for three weeks and demanding a massive upfront fee, his presence as the telekinetic John Morlar defines the movie's grim atmosphere. We discuss how Richard Burton portrayed a man who believed his thoughts could cause jumbo jets to crash and cathedrals to crumble. Interestingly, because of Richard Burton's high cost, his character is often seen heavily bandaged in a hospital bed, allowing a stand-in to do the heavy lifting while Richard Burton provided the piercing close-ups and that legendary voice.Fans of 90s rock will know that a specific line from Richard Burton in The Medusa Touch – ‘I will bring the whole edifice down on their unworthy heads' – was famously sampled by the Manic Street Preachers. This misanthropic energy is what makes John Morlar such a compelling antagonist. Throughout our review of The Medusa Touch, we explore how Richard Burton channeled his own real-life disillusionment into the role of John Morlar, creating a performance that feels both radioactive and world-weary.The supporting cast of The Medusa Touch is equally impressive. We look at Lino Ventura as Detective-Inspector Brunel, the man tasked with solving the mystery of John Morlar. Since The Medusa Touch was a co-production between the UK and France, Ventura provides a gritty, European perspective to this very British tale of destruction. Lee Remick, known for her work in The Omen, appears here as Dr Zonfeld, the psychiatrist who holds the keys to understanding the psychic pressure building inside John Morlar. We also dive into the rich layer of British character actors that populates The Medusa Touch. From Jeremy Brett, the future Sherlock Holmes, playing the man who steals John Morlar's wife, to the ubiquitous Harry Andrews and Gordon Jackson, The Medusa Touch serves as a ‘who's who' of the era's talent. We even touch upon the vocal work of David de Keyser, whose rich tones dubbed Ventura and appeared in everything from Superman to Doctor Who.Whether you are a fan of seventies horror, telekinesis films, or the legendary career of Richard Burton, this deep dive into The Medusa Touch has something for you. We examine the film's legacy, its sociopolitical commentary, and the sheer technical spectacle of the climactic cathedral collapse.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/general-witchfinders. What is it about repetition that makes us feel, remember, and connect? In this episode, linguist, jazz musician, and author Samuel Jay Keyser joins us to discuss his fascinating book, Play It Again, Sam: Repetition in the Arts. Keyser explores how repetition operates across music, literature, visual art, and language—not just as a stylistic tool, but as a deep reflection of how we think, feel, and experience the world. Whether it's a repeated melody in a jazz riff, a recurring line in a poem, or a phrase in conversation, repetition shapes the way we communicate, create, and make meaning.

Rick Flynn Presents, the worldwide podcast, rolls out the red carpet for an amazing author writing on an amazing topic in his brand-new book "Play It Again, Sam: Repetition in the Arts".Samuel Jay Keyser explores in detail the way repetition works in poetry, music, and painting. He argues, for example, that the same cognitive function underlies both how poets write rhyme in metrical verse and the way songwriters like Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn (“Satin Doll”) and Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart (“My Funny Valentine”) construct their iconic melodies. Furthermore, the repetition found in these tunes can also be found in such classical compositions as Mozart's Rondo alla Turca and his German Dances, as well as in galant music in general.Artists have exploited repetition throughout the ages. The reason why is straightforward: the brain finds the detection of repetition innately pleasurable. Play It Again, Sam offers experimental evidence to support this claim.Samuel Jay Keyser was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 7, 1935. He grew up in Washington, DC and attended George Washington, Oxford and Yale University, where he received his PhD in linguistics in 1962. Get Keyser's Book here: https://mitpress.mit.edu/9780262552325/play-it-again-sam/   In his famous Norton Lectures (1976), Leonard Bernstein extolled repetition, saying that it gave poetry its musical qualities and that music theorists refused to take it seriously at their peril. In Play It Again, Sam, Keyser takes Bernstein seriously, exploring the way repetition works in the “sister arts” of music, poetry, and painting. He argues, for example, that rhyme in metrical verse is identical to the way songwriters like Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn (Satin Doll), Lorenz Hart (My Funny Valentine), and Richard Rodgers (of Rodgers and Hammerstein fame) constructed their iconic melodies. Furthermore, the form of these tunes can be found in classical compositions, including those of Mozart.   Check out our new bi-weekly series, "The Crisis Papers" here: https://www.patreon.com/bitterlakepresents/shop   Thank you guys again for taking the time to check this out. In addition to Colorado, the band has performed in Texas, Montana, California, Florida, and New Mexico.Keyser has always loved collaborating with others, frequently gathering other musicians and book authors together to write songs. Leonard Bernstein, in his famous Norton Lectures, extolled repetition, saying that it gave poetry its musical qualities and that music theorists' refusal to take it seriously did so at their peril. In Play It Again, Sam: Repetition in the Arts (MIT Press, 2025), Samuel Jay Keyser explores in detail the way repetition works in poetry, music, and painting. Furthermore, the repetition found in these tunes can also be found in such classical compositions as Mozart's Rondo alla Turca and his German Dances, as well as in galant music in general. The author also looks at repetition in paintings like Gustave Caillebotte's Rainy Day in Paris, Andy Warhol's Campbell's Soup Cans, and Jackson Pollock's drip paintings. Finally, the photography of Lee Friedlander, Roni Horn, and Osmond Giglia—Giglia's Girls in the Windows is one of the highest-grossing photographs in history—are all shown to be built on repetition in the form of visual rhyme. The book ends with a cognitive conjecture on why repetition has been so prominent in the arts from the Homeric epics through Duke Ellington and beyond. Artists have exploited repetition throughout the ages. The reason why is straightforward: the brain finds the detection of repetition innately pleasurable. Play It Again, Sam offers experimental evidence to support this claim.
