In episode 488 astrologers Chris Brennan and Austin Coppock look at the astrological forecast for May of 2025! May opens with the tense Mars-Pluto opposition separating but still in close alignment, and this gets reactivated when Pluto stations in Aquarius and the Moon swings in and acts as a trigger at various points. Venus returns to Aries where it retraces its steps and begins the process of fully winding down its long retrograde period, and Mars is similarly finishing up its broader retrograde cycle as it makes its way through Leo. The most important transits this month is that Saturn moves into the sign of Aries on May 24, and this marks the beginning of a three year transit through this sign, where it will meet up with Neptune this summer and early next year. The month ends with an auspicious stellium of planets all meeting up in Gemini, which provides us with one of the best electional charts of the year. We spend the first hour of the episode talking about the astrology of news and events that have occurred since our last forecast, and then in the second half we transition into talking about the astrology of May. Send us a textVanderhoof, British Columbia—a picturesque town surrounded by dense forests and rugged terrain. It's a place where life moves at a steady, familiar pace and where everyone seems to know each other. But in May 2011, the close-knit community was shaken by the disappearance of a young woman whose vibrant personality and adventurous spirit were the heart of those who knew her.Madison Scott, or Maddy as her loved ones called her, was born on April 29, 1991, to Eldon and Dawn Scott. Growing up alongside her siblings Ben and Georgia, Maddy's life was filled with love, laughter, and a healthy dose of adventure. She was a force of nature, just as comfortable in a dress as she was in her work coveralls. Whether she was tearing through the trails on her dirt bike or gliding gracefully across the ice as a figure skater, Maddy embraced life with boundless energy. She thrived on spontaneity, often planning impromptu adventures or performing in amateur video productions with her friends. Her vivacious, playful personality was magnetic—she lit up every room she entered. But Maddy wasn't just about fun. She had a compassionate and generous heart, always willing to lend a hand or bring a smile to someone's face.At Nechako Valley Secondary School, Maddy struck a delicate balance between academics and her vibrant social life. While she was more focused on forging friendships and savoring her teenage years, she still met the demands of her studies. After graduating in 2009, she followed in her father's footsteps, working as an apprentice heavy-duty mechanic in the logging industry—a testament to her determination and grit. But for all her light and energy, Maddy's story took a dark and inexplicable turn. It was a weekend that was supposed to be filled with laughter, celebration, and friends. Late May in British Columbia marked the start of camping season, a time when locals would gather at places like Hogsback Lake to soak in the beauty of nature. For Madison Scott, or Maddy as her friends and family called her, the weekend of May 27th, 2011, would be one to remember—but not in the way anyone expected.Support the show

To say that Douglas Vermeeren is one of the busiest actors filming roles in feature films in Europe and the USA is an understatement. To keep up with his roles in productions in 2024, let's start with the Western “Unnatural 2,” Douglas plays Lucifer, directed by Whit Whitman and shot in Kentucky in May 2024 for Little Monsters Productions. He then flew to attend the Cannes Film Festival before booking a role as gangster Archie Baker in “Clean Right Hook,” shot in London, UK, in Late May /early June 2024, directed by Sam Purewal for Black Coppice Productions, Then back to the US for “Deadly Endings” shot in New Haven CT in June 2024. Douglas plays Bradley West with filmmaker Richard Harlost. Douglas also found time to shoot the role of Raynard in “Alien Horde,” his second film with Mahal Empire. And if that's not enough, you can see Douglas in Paramount+'s six-episode documentary series “Mafia Spies,” now streaming. Based on the book Mafia Spies: The Inside Story of the CIA, Gangsters, JFK, and Castro. On the film festival circuit, Douglas is proud of two independent feature films, “Jack Knife” and “Tenants,” which are winning awards worldwide. Other roles include starring alongside former WWE star Al Snow in “Homeless for the Holidays.” As Callum in “Bikers Vs. Werewolves” with Robert LaSardo and Michael Pare. As Denver Haywood in “The Boy From Below” with Dee Wallace and Leah Voysey. As Neal in “Skate to Hell” with Eric Roberts, Todd Bridges, Jenna Jameson and Robert Carradine. And Bradley in “Deadly Endings” with Felissa Rose. Want to watch: YouTube Meisterkhan Pod (Please Subscribe)
Late May in the United States is usually a time of cook-outs and remembrance as we memorialize those who gave their lives in service to this country. 2024 however, should be remember for another death, the death of courts of justice. First it was the International Criminal Court. Prosecutor court Karim Khan sought arrest warrants for the leader of both Hamas and Israel, alleging he had reasonable grounds to believe they had criminal responsibility for war crimes. Then, barely a week later, Judge Merchan concluded his biased case against Donald Trump with biased instructions to the jury, which found Mr. Trump guilty on all 34 counts. After some consideration, I realized that these cases are so similar, they could be fraternal twins.

In this simple episode, I have a wonderful sound magazine to share, featuring some of my favourite species. Late May is an incredible time to field record, with most species having returned to breeding territory all over Scandinavia. As a result the natural soundscape is in full flow and the natural environment is flooded with the sounds and songs of a host of wild bird species. Some of these are widespread here in Sweden, whilst others took time and patience to track down and record. At time, one has to get out of your comfort zone and get out in darkness, in order to record those elusive night singing species. The dawn chorus is quite incredible at this time of the year and there is so much to get out and listen to in a period of just a few short weeks! The episode also features the first of many educational segments concerning diurnal migration. The VisMig Files, as they will be called, will focus on the various calls of diurnally migrating birds. In this episode, I focus on two classic autumnal migrant species and play a number of recordings of both....Support the Show.Lots more audio related material here at my long running website;https://blogbirder.blogspot.com/
In this bonus episode, I take you out to the reedbeds at the southern end of Hjälstaviken Reserve here in Sweden. This incredible site is one of the premier birding reserves in Uppland, Sweden. It offers a wide variety of species, many of which are to be found in the wonderful reedbed habitat that fringes this freshwater lake. Join me, for a day trip to the site in Late May, when many birds are actively displaying on their respective breeding territories. Experience the wonderful sounds of some rather special species at this wonderful location. Following the early morning spring tour of Hjälstaviken's reedbeds, I answer a question from one of our listeners. During this short section, I will also go into a little detail on how to start field recording birds in the wild, with a brief audio section on what equipment can be sourced and utilized by those with an interest in putting their first steps forward into the world of sound recording... I will then finish the episode with another section on Nocturnal migration, this time, concentrating on the sounds of Spring migration at Landsort, here in Sweden. I will run through several species recorded at Landsort Sweden over the past few years, complete with a running commentary on each of the recordings featured.00:00 Introduction to Wild Bird Acoustics00:03 The Joys of Spring and Bird Watching01:19 The Arrival of Willow Warbler03:12 The Return of Wood Sandpiper03:55 The Early Arrival of Northern Lapwing04:44 The Sounds of Gadwall and Great Crested Grebe05:58 The Melody of Blackcap, Willow Warbler and Wryneck08:14 The Courtship Display of Ring Necked Pheasant08:59 The Song of Lesser Whitethroat12:35 A Mixed Singer: Common Chiffchaff14:58 The Distant Call of Female Northern Eider17:25 The Busy Woodlands and Lesser Spotted Woodpecker23:10 The Displaying Common Redshank at Sandimar Reserve24:40 The Displaying Common Ring Plover25:55 The Returning Tree Pipit28:48 The Call of Male Common Redstart30:20 Conclusion and Reflections on Field RecordingSupport the showLots more audio related material here at my long running website;https://blogbirder.blogspot.com/

Have you heard about the new ASE L4 ADAS Certification? This test has been in development since January 2020 with the help of industry experts. My guests Matt Shepanek, Matt Haugh, and Keith Perkins say the certification is going to be a major differentiating factor when hiring technicians. We all know the best technicians are the ones constantly learning and training. Stick around for an inside look into the test development and tips on how to pass the test. Matt Shepanek, VP, Credential Testing Programs, https://www.ase.com/ (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)) Matt Haugh, Director, Light Vehicle Test Development, https://www.ase.com/ (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)) Keith Perkins, https://www.l1diagnostics.com/?fbclid=IwAR2GbWob06QSZACwe7PjWvkQWAJRKsTxbij9qVBSlGSXFxjPXbWsdXw63iI (L1 Automotive Diagnostics and Program), http://www.l1training.com/ (L1 Automotive Training,) Listen to Keith's previous episode https://remarkableresults.biz/remarkable-results-radio-podcast/e375/ (HERE) Key Talking Points Why do we need a test for ADAS? Test developed over a two year period with industry subject matter experts from OEMs, trucking industry, collision and independent repair shops that diagnose repair and calibrate ADAS systems. Test launched as a double length test so ASE can gather statistics on the questions. Technicians that take the test now will receive a “certificate of completion” and then receive their actual score in the fall once we determine the pass score. The ADAS Specialist Test has been in development since January 2020. The test was launched on May 17th, 2022. The test-launched as a double-length test so that we can gather statistics on the question and determine the passing score for the test. Late May 2022 – Late Summer 2022: L4 tests will have 80 questions and will have a 3-hour time limit. Technicians taking the test during this window will receive a “notice of completion” and their L4 test result in myASE will show "Score Pending." In early fall 2022, they will receive an email informing them that the results have been posted to their myASE account. At that time, score reports can be obtained through their myASE account. L4 test takers will receive a pass/fail score report at the test center and/or through their myASE account. There is a $34 registration fee plus a $100 Advanced Level test fee. The Composite Vehicle Reference document features descriptions of systems, components, calibration procedures, and wiring schematics. 50% of the questions will be generic, and 50% of the questions will be based on the Composite Vehicle. The Composite Vehicle Reference document must be used to answer these questions. A copy of the document can be downloaded from https://ase.com/ase-study-guides. In addition to the Composite...
