Sydney Kirkegaard is a theater and commercial actor from Milwaukee, WI, and got her BFA in Musical Theater at TCU. Sydney has performed in venues across the country including the Milwaukee Repertory Theater, the Riverside Theater, Lyric Stage, Skylight Music Theater, and most notably, alongside Phish at Madison Square Garden.  She also works as a voice over artist for video games, anime cartoons and tv commercials including characters in American Girl, One Piece and Cousins.  She has trained in all styles of dance for 17 years and continues to train/assist classes at BDC. While Andriana can be heard performing various styles of music, Ukrainian folk songs remain closest to her heart. Her love of the Ukrainian culture comes from her grandparents who immigrated to the U.S. after being displaced from their homeland during World War Two.

Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden talked his primary win and the controversial election that led to it, and discussed the future of his office, including the way they will deal with a slew of hate demonstrations in the city, his firing the head of his Juvenile Detention unit, and the MBTA transit police cover up. Corby Kummer talked about the legacy of “Two Buck Chuck” following the death of its creator Fred Franzia, a new energy efficient way to cook pasta, and told us about some notable restaurants in the Boston area. Kummer is executive director of the food and society policy program at the Aspen Institute, a senior editor at The Atlantic and a senior lecturer at the Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. Jared Bowen talked about the Phantom of the Opera closing on Broadway, and the greater challenges in the theater community after years of COVID-19, and shared his thoughts on “Heroes of the Fourth Turning” at the Speakeasy Stage and “Fabulation,” playing at the Lyric Stage. Bowen is GBH's executive arts editor and the host of Open Studio. John King talked the latest political headlines, including the reluctance of Republican candidates to accept the results of their respective elections, Former President Donald Trump's recent embrace of QAnon, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' political motives behind his Venezuelan migrant relocation stunt. King is CNN's chief national correspondent and anchor of “Inside Politics,” which airs weekdays and Sundays at 8am. We ended the show by asking listeners to talk about their memories of “Two Buck Chuck.”

His most recent play, TRICK OR TREAT, was produced by Northern Stage in January of 2017, and featured Emmy Winner  Gordon Clapp. It was then produced off-Broadway at the 59E59 Theaters in January, 2019, also featuring Mr. Clapp. His AULD LANG SYNE, produced by the Peterborough Players and also starring Mr. Clapp, was the recipient of five New Hampshire Theater Awards, including best Professional Production.  His adaptation of DRACULA was commissioned by the Stratton Players and produced in the spring of 2016. Other recent plays are THE PORCH, produced by the Lyric Stage Company of Boston, CityStage in Springfield, the Stoneham (MA) Theatre and the Majestic Theater in West Springfield, Massachusetts, and KONG’S NIGHT OUT, presented at the Lyric Stage in Boston, New Century Theatre at Smith College and the Meadow Brook Theatre in Michigan, featuring TV's Cindy Williams.    He is the creator and manager of the web site STAGEADAPTATIONS.COM.

She has also appeared in major films such as Mermaids with Cher, Malice, Next Stop Wonderland and was even directed by the genius Woody Allen. Ms. Plum is a four-time winner of the prestigious Elliot Norton Award including one for Sustained Excellence. Past recipients of this award include Ian McEllen and Julie Harris. Paula was also one of only 5 actors nationwide to receive the Fox Actor’s Fellowship in association with the SpeakEasy Stage. Ms. Plum is a four-time winner of the prestigious Elliot Norton Award including one for Sustained Excellence. Past recipients of this award include Ian McEllen and Julie Harris. Paula was also one of only 5 actors nationwide to receive the Fox Actor’s Fellowship in association with the SpeakEasy Stage. It is the night before the Festival of Beltane, bonfires blaze as theotherworldly cast is close at hand, druids march to protect the living fires by way of their mystical chants. Jen and Johnny, the star-crossed lovers, attempt to flee from her father’s henchmen, but are caught and hanged. The Eve of Beltane then jumps centuries into the present, where our long lost lovers meet again as students at Notre Dame. This time Jenny proudly returns home with Johnny to her father’s blessing but Derry O’Leary, now a prominent politician in modern day Dublin, still refuses to allow his daughter to marry beneath her social class. This time, however, Dr. Kelson O’Leary, a transmigrated Merlin becomes their advocate and thus aligns the stars in their favor, allowing Derry to see the fire of love that burns beyond all worldly limitation. London stage includes Canterbury in Edward II, Polonius in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead and Jimmy in Home James. A multi-media presentation of Vikram's Seth's The Golden Gate as Novel in Verse and Opera that includes readings of Seth's verse, a video of a 2010 staged workshop of the opera at Lincoln Center, and a discussion with composer Conrad Cummings. The homecoming is long overdue: The Golden Gate, Vikram Seth's 1986 novel-in-verse, was born among Stanford's sandstone buildings and palm trees. Now the Bay Area has a chance to hear highlights of composer Conrad Cummings' opera of the novel. John Henry Davis, who directed the Lincoln Center workshop production, also directs the Stanford program. Seth provides a video welcome. In this "What Is?" edition of "Live from the Library" Julie Hennrikus interviews Artistic Director Sherrie Johnson and Associate Curator Georgia Lyman of Outside the Box. The conversation started with a discussion about "curation" of festivals, and moved on to a bigger conversation about this summer's festival. Bios: Sherrie Johnson: Artistic Director Sherrie Johnson has developed an international reputation as an innovative and accomplished curator, artistic director and producer of critically acclaimed and award-winning, theatre, dance, film and performing arts festivals.  Sherrie comes to Outside The Box, after six years with the renowned PuSh International Performing Arts Festival, in Vancouver, Canada. She was Senior Curator at PuSh for the last four years. She has more than 20 years of experience presenting, commissioning, producing, co-producing, and touring live performance, including working as a producer for Thomas + Guinevere’s “The Encampment,” a public art installation that had its premiere in June 2012 at Luminato’s Festival of Arts + Creativity. Sherrie previously was the Pitch Producer for the Under the Radar Symposium as part of New York’s Under the Radar showcase and was Pitch Curator of Caravan, New English Performance that is presented as part of the Brighton Festival in England. Sherrie was the Touring Liaison and Curator of the Magnetic North Theatre Festival in Canada in 2006 and 2007. She was the Producer of Canadian content for the International Network for Contemporary Arts (IETM) in 2007, a membership organization headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. She was the Canadian Producer of Celebrate Scotland; the Co-Founder, Producer, Co-Artistic Director of the Six Stages Festival in Toronto, Canada; and a Production Assistant for the du Maurier Arts World Stage Festival. She received a bachelor of science degree in criminology and theatre and a master of science degree in communications from Indiana State University and studied at the University of Toronto’s Rotman Executive Program. Sherrie was a recipient of the John Hobday Award for outstanding achievement in the field of arts management from the Canada Council for the Arts in the first year the award was given. A Chicago native, Sherrie and her family reside in downtown Boston. Georgia Lyman: Associate Curator Georgia Lyman is an actor and producer working in Boston.  She is currently the Associate Curator for the Outside the Box festival.  Georgia was a founding member of Orfeo Group, which won the Eliot Norton award for Outstanding Fringe Production three times in their 5 year career. She has performed with the Lyric Stage, New Rep, Speakeasy, Stoneham, Publick Theater, Actors Shakespeare Project and Orfeo Group. She was nearly an internet sensation twice with the web series Snarkipedia and Serial Huntress. TV and film credits include The Makeover, Brotherhood, Law & Order:SVU, The Town, and the upcoming films RIPD and Larry David's Clear History.  She is currently nominated for an IRNE award for her solo performance in Chesapeake.
