A few months ago on Instagram, Sara Blakely, the founder and CEO of Spanx posted something that has stuck with me. It was a picture of her drinking out of a coffee mug that read “when you're getting your shit together it gets lonely. But choose growth over company.” Let's face a common reality. Not everybody in your life will be thrilled when you decide to get your shit together. They are comfortable with the you now – even if the you now really needs to make some serious health changes. They don't want you to change. When this happens, you may have to draw some lines, set some boundaries, cut some people out, or make some new friends with similar goals. It may be lonely for a hot minute. But you've got this.Turn your midlife into something that everyone else wants - then you won't be lonely.Get on the Midlife In Motion - LIVE Coaching Health & Wellness Program WAITLIST Find me on my Website:https://www.lesleylmcshane.comFREE Guide: 4 Steps To Prioritize Your Health & Wellness This Week (And Actually Do It!) Motivation is an elusive thing. You can have it one minute and the next minute it is gone. Kind of like knowing why you are going upstairs, but forgetting why you are there when you get there.Motivation, getting motivated, and staying motivated are things you need to be aware of. They don't just happen. You have to build your motivation like you would a fire. You need both kindling (external motivators) and logs (intrinsic motivators) to keep it burning. Together, we control over 80% of the nation's disposable income and it's time we make our presence known! Six years ago, her life looked vastly different. She was a woman who almost lost her life to late stage Lyme Disease, disempowered from decades of trauma and abuse. She had no self-esteem, no passion, no purpose and no future. Her beliefs changed and her life began to dramatically transform. She let go of who she was told to be in order to become the woman she had always desired to be. She has been on a deeply spiritual path for over 30 years. She has her Masters in Spiritual Psychology and a PhD from the University of Rise Like A Phoenix. She is an energy worker trained in many different modalities. She has studied with some of the top spiritual teachers, mystics and mentors who empowered her to understand true transformation happens from within. She didn't have a tribe so she created one! Our attitudes, beliefs, energy, patterns, and behaviors in the present determine our future. What we think and believe directly affects how we age. Hey there and welcome back to The Emotional Eating Therapist show. I'm glad you're here. This episode features my second sleep expert guest.  You might be wondering why I brought on two gals who do similar work. Well, that's a good question. 1. We learn differently from different people. You may resonate with one person more than another and therefore learn more, even if the two people said the exact same thing. 2. I believe in tearing down the competition between women struggle. You'll hear more about this in my episode with my friend and colleague Vanessa which will air in Dec. Because we all have value to share and all have different personalities, there is no competition. Like I said before, you may hear many people say the same thing but it will resonate more when one person says it. 3. Repetition is great for learning. And when we hear multiple experts say something we are more likely to follow it.Let me introduce my guest for this episode. Krista Cumming is a Sleep Expert and Registered Nutritional Therapist who helps midlife women learn how to balance their hormones so they can fall asleep and stay asleep without medication and wake up energized and refreshed.A 30-year wellness industry veteran, Krista believes that sleep is the most important pillar of health. Krista has helped thousands of women receive the support they need and deserve through online summits and her signature program, The Sleep Better Tonight Method. She has been featured as a sleep expert on podcasts such as Midlife Matters, Thriving Thyroid and Messy Middle Road Trip. She lives in Toronto with her husband and rescue dog, Cody.I hope you gain some insight into your sleep patterns and what you can do about it. If you have questions you'd like to have answered in future episodes, please email me atSabrina@healthilyeverafterllc.comMentioned on the ShowKrista on IG @ mymidlifementorFB group Just Want To Sleep CommunityDiscover The Five Easy Steps To  Fall Asleep At Night And Avoid The Dreaded 2-3 am Wakeup...without relying on medsHealthily Ever After infoHealthily Ever After ApplicationAm I an Emotional Eater Quiz

As a survivor, Judith's mission is to share her story, especially with youth, to impress upon them the responsibility to not let such horrors happen again. Fordham awarded her an honorary Doctorate for her tireless work. In this conversation with Georgian, Judith Altmann, describes in authentic detail her experience of losing loved ones to the Holocaust and how she survived the concentration camps. MidLife Matters features Conversations with Women About Women. It is hosted by Human Relations Professional and author Georgian Lussier.ATH2020MM001HolocaustRecorded for TV May 2018Here is what a Mark T Sheehan High School Sophomore said about this story:  Perseverance is an understatement to describe the unbelievable hardships Holocaust survivor Judith Altmann faced in the mid 1930s and 40s.  The level of respect I hold for this spectacular woman is unmatched as she has the courage to still talk about her dreadful experiences to inform the rest of the world about this horrible event as well as prevent it. Judith reflects on her worst fears becoming reality in this podcast and tells us how she did all that she could do to save the human beings around her along with herself. We all should be grateful to have this hero talk to us about the horrid conditions she survived through when she was only a young teenager.
