She talks about becoming aware of the tools we already have to nurture ourselves as much as we nurture others. She became aware of this need at a young age when she saw her own mother giving so much to her kids that she had to be told to get herself some new clothes. One of the "aha" moments that she shares is taking the idea of choosing gratitude aspect a step further than just listing out what you are thankful for. Today's episode is starring me, Jacquie Court. I have shared so many stories from experts and amazing women but I've never really shared my own. In fact, my story is the reason I started She2.0 because I didn't want anyone else to suffer. From our first period to our last, we need support, education and resources. However, that was not my experience - during my period, pregnancies or menopause. Today I'm sharing a few things I learned along my journey and I'm busting a few myths I'm tired of women hearing. We all deal with anxiety in different ways - for this week's guest, Mindfulness was a life saver.https://www.mindfulmidlifecrisis.com/ Billy Lahr is an intentional living and mindfulness coach, certified personal trainer, former educator, and serial overthinker. Billy is also the host of The Mindful Midlife Crisis, a podcast for people navigating the complexities and possibilities of life's second half. Billy spent 21 years as an educator but experienced burnout due to budding mental health concerns, social media harassment from students, and a lack of job satisfaction. In 2021, Billy left his job as dean of students in order to travel the world in search of meaningful experiences and community. Since then, he's been a GPS for those seeking purpose and passion by helping them identify strengths, explore curiosities, synergize with their crew, and cultivate consistency, discipline, patience, and self-compassion. In this conversation, Billy talks about his experience of anxiety and overcoming it, traveling, and why finding your curiosity, your strengths and needs and your community is far more valuable to finding your purpose than “finding your passion”. Passion is something you discover as a by product of purpose rather than an end in itself. If you've enjoyed this conversation, PLEASE LIKE & SUBSCRIBE. Like all transitions, midlife can be messy & sad & glorious all at once, leaving many midlife women feeling rather alone & somewhat invisible. But what does this transition we are experiencing lead to?I'm Jo Blackwell, a photographer, author and coach for women who want more from their lives post 50 and I'm here to remind you that if we manage our health and embrace it, growing older can lead to one of the greatest periods of growth and transformation of our lives. The Midlife Movement was created to change minds about midlife and growing older, one story at a time. Welcome back to another episode of Midlife Revival! In this episode, Dr. Miller explores the theme of pivoting and dreaming anew in midlife. While some of us desire a return to our past selves when perimenopause arrives, perhaps it is in the “pause” of perimenopause that provides our opportunity to dream again. Brain Dump and Resist Self-Editing: - Dr. Miller shares her experience of envisioning a future day without editing. - Encourages listeners to brainstorm specific desires without self-editing.2. Assessing Loss and Gain: - Prompts listeners to consider potential losses and gains in the process of pivoting. - Advises confronting worst-case scenarios and questioning their actual impact.3. Key Moments“Aesthetics was a goal of mine, but more importantly, as I had gained weight, my health declined. And what did that look like? I became pre-diabetic. I started having joint pain in my knees specifically. Unfortunately, I have 50 stairs from the ground level to my front door. I had to go up and down the stairs every day.”“Before, I wasn't even very good about getting my blood work done regularly. Now I do it twice a year. That's a huge part of my health regimen. I take supplements based on what my blood work says. And I think you have to be intentional like this if you want to age strong and healthy and vibrant.”“They see me muscular and in a bikini. And at 53, they say ‘that's not what someone should be doing.' I do feel there is some of this ageism in those comments. I really do feel that. I also think we're very focused on: ‘well, you were fine before. Why did you do that?' – I wasn't fine. Right. I was pre-diabetic. I woke up exhausted. I felt like crap most days, right? My quality of life was poor. So I think we need to get beyond what we see and realize that this was a health journey.”Connect with DeniseRebellion BodyContactInstagram

What if we've spent most of our lives doing what's expected of us, rather than listening to what our heart is telling us? What if we decided to follow our instincts and break free of the things that are no longer serving us? Is that even possible in our 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond? Today's guest found out when she retired early from a coveted job as a public school librarian to become a romance novelist, podcaster and midlife community builder. Patti Denier says she's always been inclined to follow her "true north," but motherhood and responsibility made her play it safe for many years in a coveted job that many people told her she'd be crazy to quit. But she did. In her 50s. During this fun heart-to-heart, Patti and I chat about many things, including: Why she allowed herself to quit her job and what she decided to pursue instead How her writing, podcasting and the midlife community's she built changed her life Why she wanted to help rebrand aging and encourage midlifers to change their approach to their second act Why Patti thinks we need to push ourselves just a little—and give ourselves permission to change our minds and/or forge a new path How we can stop caring about what others think (finally!) and step into our power What we want younger women to know about menopause, our changing bodies, and aging How solo travel has been an important part of Patti's midlife journey How we need to embrace life's uncertainty instead of fearing it What we've each learned as we've aged, and how we handle adversity differently now What the recent loss of her father has taught Patti about how she needs to live now The meaning of life (yes, you heard that right–we may have figured it out right here on the show!) You're going to love this down-to-earth conversation with wise and wonderful Patti. Full show notes available at Morebeautifulproject.com.
Find out what's stopping you from feeling more beautiful: free mini-session Have you ever looked in the mirror and felt less than beautiful? Perhaps you've spent hours trying to perfect your look, running from one shopping trip to the next for that 'magic' makeover. You may have even considered plastic surgery - anything, just to try and feel good about yourself. But despite all these efforts, do you still feel like something is missing? If so, it might be time to take a look inside yourself instead of just searching externally - because no matter what kind of makeover we can offer; true beauty starts within. In this podcast episode, we'll explore how self-love is key in unlocking our inner beauty - and step away from being reliant on external factors that just don't last. The journey to feeling beautiful is a process. We can tend to the outside all we want and still not feel beautiful on the inside. Understanding why we can't make ourselves beautiful by changing our appearances and delving into what lies beneath the surface is how true beauty blossoms. It's not about having it all together, but rather it's allowing ourselves to think deeply about why we don't feel good enough so that this can be addressed head-on. Taking accountability for our internal dialogue and its impact on our day-to-day life is a powerful tool for reshaping our thoughts around beauty. By creating a plan to love yourself more, we are taking an active role in feeling beautiful from within. If you're ready to make some real changes today, schedule a free mini-session today.

Have you tested with high A1C levels? Are you in pre-diabetes? Has the doctor told you that you need to make some changes? Are you supposed to cut carbs to get to A1C normal range, but don't know how many carbs per day you should be getting? If you don't know where to start, what you need to be changing, or even what a normal A1C level is, today's episode is for you. My friend, nurse, and cyclist Tracy Tolson is here to sing to the choir. Tracy is a very fit 62 year old with no family history of high A1C levels, yet a year ago got the news from her PCP - Primary Care Physician that she needed to meet with an endocrinologist and nutritionist to get her A1C levels down before she was in full-blown diabetes. What's possible when we find the courage to reinvent and be our authentic selves? When we shed who people think we should be and step into who we truly want and are meant to be?The truth is, anything is possible when we learn to stand up for ourselves. We can use self-empowerment to propel us forward as we reinvent ourselves. What does your 'morning routine' look like? What morning routine, you may ask. Some folks make mornings a mad dash, rolling out of bed, grabbing a cup of java, and running out the door. Others prefer a more leisurely approach, luxuriating in bed, slowing arising, meditating, and enjoying coffee while watching the sunrise. Most of us in midlife like some kind of routine that grounds us for the day; in fact, an Instagram survey showed that 67% of us have a routine. 50% of us include fitness in our morning routine, and 2/3 of us said quiet time is important in the mornings. In this episode, Cam and Amelia explore what a morning routine looks like and how each element of the routine can be beneficial. Each step might not be necessary to every person, but we feel like many of these things will resonate with most of you.Join us on the morning journey. We'd love to hear from you. I do…I feel like everything happens at once and it's hard to climb out of that funk. Join me, Dr. Sarah Milken in my solo episode, The Midlife Cry, Hormones & Irregular Bleeding. Trust me…it can be hard trying to juggle mom life with perimenopause rearing its ugly head. And, in this episode you get a first hand experience of dealing with just that. What's possible when you lean into your dreams, take action and then let go?Ever notice that things unfold in a simpler (often less stressful!) way? That when we're willing to make forward progress AND trust things are moving in our direction, we can get a lot further than when we try to control every step of the way? (I'm a recovering control freak myself. You too?)Letting go can be tough. It's human nature to want to control things. To try and shift things in the direction of our dreams. On our timetable. But things hardly ever work out that way. In fact, we often end up expelling more energy than if we learned to let go and trust in the first place. If only it was that simple! But it is possible to make forward progress and learn to let go.In this episode, I share about how you can learn to let go to support your reinvention dreams. Highlights include:✳️ Why letting go is so important in our personal development journey✳️ How trying to control things leads to frustration and lackluster results✳️ How leaning in and listening to our inner wisdom can help us realize our dreams✳️ How I learned to let go of control (and move toward my dreams with joy (and so much less anxiety) ✳️ My before and after "letting go" stories and the powerful lessons I learned about myself✳️ The 3 key ingredients you need to help you let go and realize your dreams more easily! and so much more wisdom and food for thought. If you're noodling over the possibility of reinventing yourself or you're already moving forward, try these three ingredients on for size.Mentioned in this episode:1. And, per usual, we do talk about midlife vaginas, and some of the important take aways from popular episodes. This is a don't miss.
