Sarah interviews Liz Mellor, an intuitive homeopath working with complex paediatric cases. In this interview, Liz and Sarah explore Liz's unique journey into homeopathy and the evolution of her practice. Drawing on decades of experience in yoga, meditation, energy work, intuitive guidance, and holistic coaching, Liz integrates these modalities with her classical homeopathic training to support deep and lasting transformation in her clients.Liz is a valued practitioner at The Family Apothecary, where she and Sarah collaborate to support families navigating complex health and behavioral challenges. Together, they have worked with thousands of families around the world. In the conversation, Liz shares insights into the use of an unconventional remedy—Sarcoscypha coccinea—to help shift lingering past life imprints that may be influencing a client's present-day experience. She also speaks to the profound spiritual work that unfolds for both clients and practitioners in this healing journey.Liz's path began with a degree in chemistry, followed by formal homeopathic training at the London College of Classical Homeopathy and the Society of Homeopaths nearly 30 years ago. After running a thriving general practice for nearly a decade, her focus shifted when she became a mother to a neurodivergent child. Through her own lived experience and intuitive prescribing, Liz witnessed powerful changes in her son's health and development.Today, she specializes in working with children facing ADHD, PANS/PANDAS, pathological demand avoidance (PDA), tics, school refusal, anxiety, and other related conditions—bringing empathy, depth, and a profoundly intuitive lens to her practice.
Early on in life Mel Dupres realized that her calling is to help herself and others to be happy, healthy and free. As an adoptee she has struggled with the feelings and consequences of loss, grief and abandonment. Working diligently to overcome this for herself she now assists others in their process and is humbled and honored to do so. She developed a passion for Complementary Medicine over 20 years ago. After completing a Human Science degree at UCL, she eagerly went on to The London College of Classical Homeopathy to complete a Licenciate in 1998 and spent time on postgraduate work at the University of Westminster. She enjoys practicing homeopathy to this day and knows it is one of the most profound systems of medicine available. Leaving her Bermuda island home as a teen, she spent many years in the U.K. which led her down a path of revelation and self discovery through study, clinical practice and work in homeopathic pharmacy. She spent years traveling: to India to learn from Rajan Sankaran and the Gondia Homeopathic College and Hospital, to Ghana where she ran homeopathic clinics, with homeopaths including Ellen Kramer and to various other countries around the world where she would seek connection with other homeopaths as well as purchase Arnica for her 'global collection'! In 2000 she began to practice yoga on and off but it was not until a trip to a healing centre in India, where she practiced daily, that yoga helped tremendously unlocking her own health issues due to stress at the time. This experience sparked her desire to teach yoga and she went on to complete the 200 hour yoga training in 2011 with Yoga London. Homeopathy, which explores the mental/ emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of dis-ease through case taking and remedies, and the breath work/ asana (postures) of yoga, which move the vital energies, combine beautifully to bring about transforming a patients experience to health. Adding therapeutic touch and reiki is the icing on the cake allowing Mel to bring a unique and dynamic approach to caring for those willing to embark on a healing journey. A love of food and in particular a wandering palate has lead Mel to create tasty foods that are plant based, free of common allergens (dairy, gluten and nuts). Knowing that food is not only sensory but ideally for nourishing the body, keeps the inspiration for seeking foundation through food as building blocks for heath for herself and her clients. These modalities and approaches complement each other incredibly well, giving clients the opportunity to transcend illness and transform into a new state of being. Life is journey - for Mel it is one of fun, healing and devotion and by embracing this there is quest for deep connection and understanding of herself and others. Have you ever met someone and the hairs on the back of your neck stood up? Have you ever "felt" like something would happen, and then it did? I was on a business trip a few years ago, and as I got into my rental car at night in a big city, I felt a voice say, "Lock the door now!" For a split second, I tried to "reason" with the voice so I could put my handbag down and put on my seatbelt. Well, I quickly locked the door at about the same time some very scary-looking guy was trying to get into my car! My big takeaway- listen to that still, small voice inside; it will never steer you wrong. In today's episode with Dr. Sarah Trask, we discuss that still-small voice regarding our health. Is there a reason people get sick that has almost NOTHING to do with how they eat and how much they exercise? You will be surprised by some of her answers and the simple tips to lower your risk of getting any illness. I learned a lot from Sarah today and became emotional several times during our conversation. About Dr. Sarah Trask Sarah is an honours graduate of the Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine, the only Canadian institution accredited by the Council for Homeopathic Certification and fully recognised by the Accreditation Commission for Homeopathic Education in North America. In her approach, she combines homeopathic treatments with nutritional and lifestyle guidance to support her patients' overall well-being. I started reading articles, and I discovered that the science is solid. Studies have shown that participants using grounding sheets experience a significant drop in cortisol levels, leading to improved sleep quality and reduced stress. What did I have to lose? I researched, found the best grounding sheets on the market for the best price, and bought them. It took me a few nights, but I sleep much deeper now. One thing I never considered during my experience with cancer was the body's ability to heal itself. Although I was a holistic nutritionist, my focus was primarily on food. When it came to healing, it was best left to medical professionals. After all, how could the body heal without drugs or medical intervention? Honestly, if someone had told me to focus on healing my body by getting more sleep, eating organic foods, spending time in nature, managing my stress, and maintaining a spiritual practice, I would have thought, "Sure, that might help me feel better," but would it contribute to my healing? Today's guest, Dr. Sarah Trask, taught me about homeopathy. She shared with me that when she was in homeopathy school, she contracted food poisoning during class; she was nauseous and was about to leave the class. The teacher used her food poisoning as a "teachable moment" for the students. Her teacher gave her a homeopathic treatment, and within minutes, she was better. She was sold on the power of homeopathy. Sarah's podcast today features some astounding stories of healing. I had so many takeaways, and I hope you do, too! Sunita Venchard has been practising homeopathy for over 25 years. She graduated from the London College of Classical Homeopathy in 1996. In 2010 she trained in the sensation method by Rajan Sankaran and continues to study new methods and remedies. In her practice, Sunita sees a wide variety of clients online, from all over the world. Over the years she has developed a special interest in treating anxiety and the menopause. In addition to her practice she has taught many short courses to the public to empower people to use homeopathy for themselves with confidence. Sunita was an avid reader of fiction before studying homeopathy, when that was replaced with reading books on homeopathy. Her love, particularly of science fiction, adventure and fantasy fiction and movies together with her love of homeopathy inspired here to write her first novel, ‘Revive'. She says, “Homeopathy never ceases to amaze me, and I have always found it somewhat magical. I wanted to write an exciting accessible novel, for teens upwards, to spread and convey these feelings; a book that could be read and enjoyed on many levels without any prior knowledge of homeopathy, by homeopaths and non-homeopaths alike. My aim was for all readers to learn or take something different from the novel.” Revive is available as an ebook on Amazon worldwide and as a paperback in some countries. Ep 70: Butterfly remedies with Patricia Maher Patricia Maher HMC MSW lives in New York City, and maintains a national homeopathy practice via video technologies. She obtained her Masters in homeopathy in 2006, studying under the tutelage of Louis Klein. She also has a Masters in Social Work from the City University of New York. Pat began her homeopathy practice after a long career as a leader of community organizations involved in social change. After being treated by a homeopath over 20 years ago, she fell in love with the modality and decided to make it her second career. Because of her background, Pat brings to her practice an understanding of the ways that social conditions affect our health, with a particular concern about the impact of racism. Pat has been very active in the field of homeopathy. She has published articles in Interhomeopathy , Spectrum, and Homeopathic Links: An International Journal for Classical Homeopathy, and is active in researching and developing new homeopathic remedies with a group of colleagues (www.greatlakesprovings.com/). In addition to studying with Louis Klein, she has also studied with Jan Scholten. Pat also teaches homeopathy, and has taught at the Baylight Center for Homeopathy as well as on Luminos Homeopathy webinars. Pat is a member of a group of homeopaths attempting to inspire homeopathy to address racism in its practices. Pat has also been an astrologer for over 40 years. Astrology gives her an ability to synthesize information and understand what makes someone “tick.” Her skills as an astrologer enhance her work as a homeopath and vice versa, since both astrology and homeopathy are languages for understanding who we are and how we relate to the world around us. In fact, the type of astrology she practices — Uranian astrology — was developed by a German homeopath in the 1920's. You can find information about her astrology practice here: https://patriciamaherastrology.wordpress.com/ An amateur naturalist, Pat is an avid birdwatcher, lover of insects, and passionate observer of the natural world and the body politic. She is also a trainer/organizer with the People's Institute for Survival and Beyond, a national anti-racism organization Patricia's website is here: http://patriciamaherhomeopathy.com

Ep 55: Homeopathic Facial Analysis with Grant Bentley Grant Bentley is from Melbourne, Australia and has been working and studying in various fields of natural therapies since 1987. Grant is a qualified Homeopath and Naturopath and has studied Clinical Hypnosis and has a Post Graduate Diploma in Eriksonian Psychotherapy. Grant is the current principal and senior lecturer of the Victorian College of Classical Homeopathy (1995 – current). The Victorian College of Classical Homeopathy led by Principal Grant Bentley has been clinically trialing the relationship between facial structure and successful chronic prescribing since 2000. Graduating practitioners use facial analysis with every chronic case. Homeopathic Facial Analysis (HFA) produces consistently successful results using Hahnemannian concepts of homeopathy with a miasmatic diagnostic (facial structure). Trials have been conducted in the private clinics of Grant Bentley and a number of Melbourne based VCCH graduates. Trials have also been undertaken at community clinics located at both Remedy Group (Lilydale, Rowville) and the Orwil St Community House (Frankston). Consistent results of 80%+ across numerous chronic diseases have occurred. This system doesn't treat specific diseases but treats the patient energetically, allowing their own innate healing abilities to work in synchronicity with their body, immune system and emotions. The clinics have been used to determine a link between facial structure and miasmatic classification of polychrests. From this research Grant Bentley has devised a method known as Homeopathic Facial Analysis (HFA) which he has been teaching to both undergraduate and postgraduate students around the world.

Before discovering homeopathy, Susanna worked in Medical Research at Johns Hopkins Medical School and the University of Virginia Medical Schools in the USA. Her lifelong interest in spirituality however, led her to Scotland where she completed a postgraduate degree in Theology at St Andrews University as well as postgraduate work at Harvard Divinity School. Midway through her theological training she was introduced to homeopathy. After a great personal response to treatment she decided to pursue formal training in homeopathy with the National Center of Homeopathy (USA) and The College of Homeopathy in London in the 1980s. Before migrating to NZ in 1991, she established a free children's clinic in rural Kent and practiced at the South London Natural Health Centre in Clapham where her special interest in perinatal homeopathy began -- many of her clients were pregnant women and she worked closely with birth educators and midwives at that time. In 1991 Susanna arrived in NZ, began teaching at Wellington College (WCOH), Hahnemann College in Auckland and Bay of Plenty College of Homeopathy (BOPCOH) in Tauranga. That same year, she co founded a journal for the NZ homeopathic profession: Homeopathy NewZ and set up Selene Homeopathics— to supply quality homeopathic remedies to the profession and community. She was an editor and co-director of these until 1994 and 1998 respectively. In the 1990s Susanna continued to practice homeopathy and extend her tertiary education and management skills. In 1991, Susanna registered with and joined the Executive of the NZ Institute of Classical Homeopathy and was appointed Dean of BOPCOH. She served on the NZICH Exec until 1996 and when the New Zealand Council of Homeopaths (NZCH) was formed in 1999, became an Exec, serving til 2006 and then again from 2009-2012. She was awarded the Life Membership of the NZCH in 2015 . In the early 90's, Susanna established practices in Taupo and Wellington while teaching at WCOH and BOPCOH. From 1994-2012 she served on the NZQA Expert Panel on Homeopathy (which became the Homeopathy Profession Advisory Board in 2008); this group wrote the NZQA Unit Standards for homeopathy and developed the NZQA National Diploma and in 2008 reviewed these and established agreed training standards for the profession. At BOPCOH she pioneered comprehensive distance education in homeopathy with College founder Greig Follas—initially via VHS, then DVD creating the platform for comprehensive online learning options. In 1995, Susanna settled in Tauranga, became Principal of BOPCOH. She strongly fostered collegiality between NZ homeopaths and overseas colleagues presenting cases and papers at professional conferences in NZ, Australia and USA. Susanna led the College to many significant milestones:accreditation with the NZQA; approval by the Ministry of Education (MOE) for student loans and allowances and approval of the College's Diploma of Homeopathy in Animal Health by NZQA and MOE. In 2004, Susanna was a guest tutor in homeopathy at Hong Kong University and later that year became owner and Principal of Sydney College of Homeopathic Medicine (SCHM). From 2004-2008 Susanna was Principal and CEO of both BOPCOH and SCHM and managed the NSW registrations and approvals of the Sydney College during that time. In 2008, Susanna's duties re-focused to NZ when she was appointed Director of Operations NZ for Endeavour College of Natural Therapies which includes ongoing duties as Principal of BOPCOH. From 2012-2020 Susanna took a 'sabbatical' from homeopathic teaching and management. During that time she co-owned and operated a successful VIP Toursim business based in the Port of Tauranga (NZ) catering to International cruise ship visitors. This is a special Podapalooza episode, featuring 2 guests!Firstly, Dawn and I discuss the importance of touch, how it positively impacts our health when we get the touch we need, and also that our need for touch can vary from day to day and person to person. Dawn shares tips on removing the awkwardness of situations where the other person's touch needs may not match yours, and instead using fun ways to give them a choice in how they want to be touched. Dawn wrote the book “The Touch Crisis: Navigating the Tricky Terrain of Bringing Healthy Touch Back to Our Culture, which is available on Amazon, and comes with a workbook, so you can learn more about this important subject.Bobby and I then had a great conversation around strengthening and lengthening in order to prevent aches & pains. When we only strengthen, our muscles get shorter as they get stronger, and that then reduces the range of movement and can cause pain. Bobby has developed great tools that you can use at home, in the office, and even in your business attire several times a day to ensure you are lengthening your body and ultimately reducing pain! What you do to your body today, matters to your mobility later!Free gift: Get FREE shipping in the continental US when purchasing products on the Bam-metrics website:https://bam-metrics.comCoupon Code: BAMFREESHIPYour Guided Health Journey Membershiphttps://yourguidedhealthjourney.com/membership-programs/Linktree: https://linktr.ee/yourguidedhealthjourneyAbout the Guest:Dawn Bennett:Dawn Bennett, LMT, NCTMB, CST, NLP, Certified Hypnotherapist, NLP Results Coach, Accredited Certified EFT Practitioner, Relationship & Intimacy Coach, and Bodyworker has been helping people connect with themselves, others, and their communities in body and mind since starting her practice in 1997.She's the author of two Amazon Best-Selling books, The Touch Crisis: Navigating the Tricky Terrain of Bringing Healthy Touch Back to Our Culture, and What Happened to My Friendships? As a practitioner, he also worked and studied in various countries as a member of medical delegations to Africa, as well as in England and New York. Dr Jennifer Bahr is a Naturopathic Physician with deep interest, experience and success in treating children using Classical Homeopathy for PANS (Pediatric Acute-Onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome) and PANDAS (Pediatric Acute-Onset Neuropsychiatric Disease Associated with Streptococcus). We start this show with the fascinating story of Homeopathy- history, mechanisms and current practice around the world. The American Institute of Homeopathy (AIH) was actually the first medical society formed in the United States in 1844. The Homeopathic Pharmacopeia of the United States, still regulated by the FDA, recognizes over 1000 remedies. Research first published in 2010 used scanning microscopy to identify nanoparticles of a homeopathic remedy's plant, animal and mineral sources in what is so ultra-diluted that it was previously considered nearly nothing (smaller than Avogadro's number!). With this same technology, it can be measured that there are physiological changes like tiny like nudges that can impart significant trajectory changes in a child's health. Then we dive into PANS/PANDAS. Although there is more research about PANDAS (meaning symptoms associated with strep infection), triggers can be well beyond Strep, which is the nature of the condition known as PANS. Children can present with debilitating fear, rage, sleep disruptions, intense separation anxiety, reading/ math regression, toilet training regressions, distinct behavioral changes, tics, avoidant-restrictive food disorder, and OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder). It's thought to happen in relation to an infective insult, but this may be so subtle as to not even be recognized (even mold in a home). PANS and PANDAS can be thought of as an immune system susceptibility; Homeopathy addresses susceptibilities to repair the biochemical patterns in realms that conventional medicine does not yet operate. This is an incredible show that gives an excellent introduction to Homeopathy as well treatment possibilities for children and families truly suffering with these severe, often inconsolable, symptoms. We recorded this show with Dr Bahr precisely because of the results we are seeing in clinic with patients who have engaged with the Resilience Naturopathic team (demand is so great she has 16 clinicians on her team that see patients remotely around the world). Throughout the show, she weaves through her personal story, which is so insightful for both process and progress, but also demonstrates how life can feel in an effective treatment vacuum. Please listen in and share widely. Find out more about her, Resilience Naturopathic and PANS/PANDAS at the resources below.
