Three pocast episodes ... in one week? In this economy? We had a lot to catch up on from our time away at the end of summer, and the arrival of September always brings a slew of new releases. Here's what we've got for you this time: BUDDY. This twisted horror comedy came out a couple weeks ago, but this is very much our kind of movie, so we knew we needed to catch up with it. The film from surrealist Casper Kelly (Adult Swim's "Too Many Cooks," "Yule Log") is set in a kitschy '90s kids TV show that looks a lot like "Barney & Friends." But "It's Buddy" is about an orange unicorn who doesn't like it when the young cast members dare to question his authority. Starring Keegan-Michael Key, Cristin Milioti, Delaney Quinn, and Patton Oswalt as a talking backpack named Strappy. In theaters. CALL MY AGENT! THE MOVIE. The French comedy series is now a feature film after four seasons on Netflix. Everyone is back, but now the action has moved from a talent agency to a movie set. Alonso loved this show, but Christy had never seen a single episode, so it was fun to come at it from both perspectives. Camille Cottin, Laure Calamy, Laetitia Casta and George Clooney co-star. Streaming now on Netflix. MOVIE NEWS LIVE! This was an especially somber day, given that it was the 25th anniversary of 9/11. But we hadn't done our movie news livestream in a few weeks, so we wanted to reconnect and reflect with our folks. "Suaave", es el segundo avance del tercer disco de Puño Dragón, que llegará en septiembre y arranca directo, sin anestesia, sin respiro, con unas estrofas de voz casi susurrada y con un estribillo, que también llega sin previo aviso. "Suaaave", como ellos dicen, es una bomba y seguramente la canción más espídica y explícita del disco. A finales de los 80s los productores Robert Small y Jim Burns crearon el programa de la MTV “Unplugged”, pero su popularidad fue durante la siguiente década y son todo un referente para comprender parte de la música de los 90s. En aquel momento parecía una locura brindar conciertos acústicos, veníamos de una década dominada por las sobreproducciones y los sintetizadores. El formato fue creciendo y ganando popularidad con los años hasta el punto que diferentes cadenas y radios del mundo crearon sus propios conciertos acústicos. Los primeros conciertos solo fueron trasmitidos por la cadena, recién en enero de 1991 se publico en formato CD el Unplugged de Paul McCartney. Durante el 92 se lanzan dos de los mas importantes de la historia, el de Mariah Carey que vendió 15 millones de copias a nivel mundial y el de Eric Clapton con 26 millones y 6 premios Grammys. En el 93 llegaría el turno del Unplugged de Nirvana, el cual fue una de las ultimas apariciones en televisión de la banda de Seattle, convirtiéndose en el concierto acústico mas popular de la MTV. El formato seguía creciendo y ha ayudado a promover o revivir carreras, como en el caso de Tony Bennet, Rod Stewart o el mismo Eric Clapton. En el caso de Shakira, por ejemplo, ayudo a iniciar su carrera en los Estados Unidos. Durante los 90s hemos disfrutado de conciertos unplugged de gente como George Michael (Uno de los mejores concierto acústicos), Alice in Chain (ofreciendo el último concierto de la banda), KISS (con su formación original), Oasis, R.E.M. (grabando uno en el año 1991 y otro en el 2001), Bryan Adams, Pearl Jam y un largo etcétera. El primer Unplugged de habla no inglesa fue realizado por el grupo Argentino Los Fabulosos Cadillacs en Septiembre del 94, luego vinieron los de Caifanes, Charly García, Soda Stereo, Café Tacuba, Aterciopelados, etc. Con el cambio de milenio el formato se fue desgastando, comenzó el dominio de plataformas de Internet y el propio desgaste de la MTV convirtiéndose en una cadena de realities para adolescentes.
