Nyeckro discusses the season finale of FX's Atlanta: "It Was All a Dream". Atlanta is an American comedy-drama television series created by Donald Glover. The series follows college dropout and music manager Earnest "Earn" Marks (Glover) and rapper Alfred "Paper Boi" Miles (Brian Tyree Henry) as they navigate a strange, seemingly otherworldly, Atlanta hip hop scene. Atlanta also stars LaKeith Stanfield as Darius, Earn and Alfred's eccentric friend, and Zazie Beetz as Vanessa "Van" Kiefer, Earn's on-again-off-again girlfriend and the mother of his daughter. Dom is joined by his "Euphoria" co-podcaster Josh Markland to break down the return of the final season of FX's critically acclaimed show "Atlanta." Created by, executive produced and starring Donald Glover, the show follows Glover's Earn, a Princeton dropout, as he manages his cousin Al aka Paper Boi's (Brian Tyree Henry) up and coming rap career in Atlanta, Georgia, along with Al's friend and resident stoner Darius (LaKeith Stanfield) and Earn's baby mom Van (Zazie Beetz). The show has had a critically acclaimed tenure, winning Glover an Emmy for best actor for the first season and earning many other accolades along the way. This year saw the return of both the season's 3rd and fourth seasons, with the third season airing back in the spring and taking place primarily in Europe, while this new season returns the characters to Atlanta. The show manages a rather interesting tone, bouncing back and forth between too real and surreal, with all the different scenarios and characters that Earn and the gang interact with providing an interesting reflection into African American relations in this country, without really having a direct point or message that it's trying to say.

Ern, Paper Boi, Darius and Van have come back into my life again... And to be completely honest, I've missed the hell out of these characters on screen. This instantly became one of my favorite shows of all time the moment I was introduced to it, and a lot of that has to do with the awkward humor, uncomfortable situations, and surreal episodes altogether. Even though our main crew are now in Europe and out of Atlanta, there's still strange and comedic hijinks to be gotten into for sure. Hence why there never will be another show like this. Enjoy, y'all.

What choice does Kyle have for 5 dolla tuesday? Can Nia Jax win against Florida man? Atlanta Season 2 premiered last thursday and Kyle is still shedding tears of joy. Hear Alex bust a freestyle to prove he has more bars then Scooter and Paper Boi. This armbar segment is just too much Nia, but not enough for that shizz talk. Will we talk the Nia Jax match? Prolly not, that's for WrestleCast but we'll talk Music, and other random stuff. Call in and holla 347.857.1060

Race, sexual politics, masculinity, friendship and parenthood – the new FX TV show Atlanta tackles all of these subjects with uncompromising honesty and humour. This week host Christina Jeurling Birro is joined by one of the shows stars - Brian Tyree Henry who gives a powerful performance on the show as Paper Boi, a rising-star of the Atlanta rap scene.
On this episode of THE WORLD’S GREATEST PODCAST, I have a lot to say. I talk about CM Punk’s loss at UFC 203, finally. I share quick thoughts on Colin Kaepernick, finally. I tell the tale of the indecent proposal I got in my training class. I ask the big question: Did Mother Gothel actually love Rapunzel? I wonder if my time as a leader of #TeamDrake is coming to an end. I go into why I’m constantly tied to Carlton Banks. I relive how I ended up totaling Angel’s car. And I recommend a lot of things. Such as Atlanta. You really should be watching Atlanta. Paper Boi. Paper Boi. All about that paper boy. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/hyphen-nation/support
On this 10th episode, I chat with the one and only Brian Tyree Henry (a.k.a. Paper Boi) of one the most acclaimed TV shows on right now - FX’s ATLANTA. We discuss everything from the reasons why the show is resonating with viewers, the new golden age of black pop culture, his affinity to Latino culture, why Broadway still lacks diversity compared to film and TV and a passionate discussion on why the use of the ’N’ word in today’s arts and culture landscape is okay with him. That plus a look at why the website Quartz decided to create a Spanish language newsletter with its senior editor Gideon Lichfield as well as horror film recommendations for this Halloween.
The Ringer's Micah Peters is joined by 'Atlanta' star Brian Tyree Henry to discuss his roots in Broadway, working with 'South Park' creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, Donald Glover's genius, the familial vibe on the set of 'Atlanta,' and why he refers to his character as “Alfred” and not “Paper Boi.”
Like a straight up G- I Hate This Show tackles the FX comedy series: Atlanta. Joined by rap expert (or at least a rap listener)- Spencer Kovocavich- John and Damon delve into the hip-hop splendor of this show and ponder: -will white people watch this? -what is up with that jailhouse episode? -and is Paper Boi a good rapper or just a squishy man? Listen. Share. Rate/Review! Please and thank you!
