Most small businesses and nonprofits don't lack passion or effort—they just get buried under strategies that sound good on paper but never seem to pay off. You try social posts, emails, ads, maybe even hire someone, and still feel like no one's really seeing what you do. It's frustrating, especially when you know your work matters but the spotlight keeps missing you. Sometimes it feels like you're shouting into the void, just hoping something finally sticks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5ofX7-TXM8 Amy Rosenberg is a PR expert and founder of Veracity Agency, known for helping mid-sized companies grow their visibility. She's the author of A Modern Guide to PR and A Practical Guide to Public Relations, and was named PR Woman of the Year. Today, she breaks down how PR, SEO, and AI work together to boost credibility and reach. Her strategy: use monthly content themes, podcast pitching, and third-party validation to build trust and rank better online. Simple, effective, and tailored for real-world impact. Stay tuned! Quotes: “I don't want to say that PR is the solution to marketing and all your problems. But when we think things are too hard or overcomplicate them, we just don't do them.” “Try to think about how you're going to make it interesting to other people—whether that's your audience, offering advice, tying into trends, talking about trends, or using external statistics to discuss topics. Not your own research, but others', and compiling that into a blog post.” “You already are where you need to be. If we think about things that way, instead of always focusing on the future, and just focus on the now—realizing that what we're doing today will help us in the future—it's empowering, especially for our younger professionals.” Resources: Modern Mothership by Amy Rosenberg PR That Works Smarter | Veracity Follow Amy Rosenberg on Facebook Connect with Amy Rosenberg on LinkedIn

This is Zack Fuss. Today, we're tackling a giant in a controversial and incredibly complex industry, UnitedHealth Group. At its recent apex, UNH was a half-trillion-dollar market cap business, the 15th largest listed business in the United States. Today, that market cap sits at just $275 billion. The company generates an excess of $400 billion in sales annually and produces $40 billion in EBITDA as it touches every facet of the American healthcare system. To break down UnitedHealthcare, I'm joined by Stephanie Niven, a co-PM of the Global Sustainable Equity Strategy within the Sustainable Equity Team at Ninety One. Stephanie has been following the company since 2012 and she helps us to unravel this intricate business. We explore how UnitedHealthcare operates as a fully integrated healthcare system from its insurance arm to its high-margin health services business. We also dive into the concept of value-based care, the recent headwinds from Medicare Advantage scrutiny, and whether the market is mispricing this complex giant amidst regulatory noise and leadership changes. Getting media attention in college is possible! 30 years ago, Bill Williams was faced with a problem keeping in touch with his sales staff spread throughout the Midwest. The internet and email were new so he decided that these new technologies might solve his problem. The staff all had email ... but they never checked it, so Bill decided to send out a "Thought for the Day." Some were humorous, others were just interesting facts or stories. And it worked! They started to read their emails every day ...and they shared these stories with their clients, and THEY asked to get on the distribution list and it just grew. Today, decades later, hundreds of folks across the nation and overseas too are getting these daily missives. In episode 547 of the Fraternity Foodie Podcast, we find out why Bill decided on Texas Tech for his undergraduate experience, how Bill decided that email humor was the way to engage his staff, where all the content comes from for his emails, how his life has changed since then, how to get more media attention while you're in college, how college students can bring change to our government, what is the Million Dollar Round Table, and how college students can start to build long term wealth. Enjoy!

Following Tuesday's 100-96 win over the Atlanta Hawks, the Houston Rockets sit 1.5 games ahead of the Memphis Grizzlies for the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference. With big wins against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics, the Rockets have won 10 of their last 12 and are currently on a four-game winning streak. An impressive 32-14 season record has helped Houston receive increased national media attention, with some already priming the Rockets as legitimate postseason contenders. "Winning puts everybody on the map," head coach Ime Udoka said. As the All-Star break approaches, Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun have made strong cases for their All-Star reserves candidacy. "They're getting rewarded just by being in the conversation," Udoka said. "Jalen and Alpy have both shouldered the load at some point this season. Now, everybody else is kind of being incorporated and adding more to the picture, and I think that's where our depth comes in. We don't have to rely on one guy every night." The final 14 All-Star spots will be announced Thursday at 5:30 p.m. CT. The last matchup of the Rockets' four-game road trip comes against the Grizzlies, who trail right behind the Rockets in the standings. "They do some similar things to what we do. They're second in offensive rebounding behind us. They shift the pace and make transition baskets, and they cause a lot of turnovers," Udoka said. With a win, the Rockets will go 4-0 against Memphis this season.

Episode 283 showcases our hosts Dr Jake Sloane & David Segal. In our final podcast of the year we launch a new mini-series called 'The Entrepreneurs'. These episodes will focus on pioneers in the business world. Our entrepreneurs will share their stories of success, failure, life-changing lessons and big decisions that they made. We'll showcase guests from all sorts of backgrounds to inspire our listeners. In Chapter 1 David shares his journey in aesthetics from the very beginning. From starting importing lasers from China with absolutely no experience, a chance opportunity led to him founding and managing the hugely successful 'Cosmos Clinic'.  After another chance meeting at an event, he was then invited to become the General Manager of Laser Clinics Australia - now the world's biggest chain clinic with over 250 locations in numerous countries.  These early successes led David and his partners to set their sights on the surgical world. They founded 'The Cosmetic Institute' (TCI) and within just 2 years they had disrupted the entire cosmetic surgery industry in Australia. At its peak TCI performed 100 breast surgeries a week and was turning over $40 million per year. But things came unstuck and David gives us a brutally honest account of what the root causes of this were and the most difficult period of his life.   This experience changed his mindset completely and David offers his insights into best business practices, financial management, and the importance of risk mitigation. We end on a note about the importance of planning for financial stability and wealth management for the future.   00:00 Introduction and New Beginnings 01:09 Introducing 'The Entrepreneur Series' 03:51 The Topic of the Day: Business Failures and Lessons Learned 05:19 Early Career and Business Ventures 14:57 The Genesis of Cosmos Clinic 24:07 The Birth of Laser Clinics Australia 33:16 Reflecting on the Chain Clinic Model 35:06 The Genesis Of The Cosmetic Institute (TCI) 40:57 Recruitment and Training of Surgical Staff 43:02 Business Model and Initial Success 45:18 Challenges and Scrutiny 52:39 Major Complications and Media Attention 56:14 The Beginning of the End 01:01:53 Lessons Learned and Moving Forward 01:16:24 Advice for Aspiring Business Owners 01:21:46 Final Thoughts and Reflections   CLICK HERE TO JOIN OUR PATREON FOR ON DEMAND EDUCATION & SUPPORT CLICK HERE TO BROWSE OUR IA OFFERS FOR DISCOUNTS & SPECIALS CLICK HERE IF YOU'RE A BRAND OR COMPANY & WANT TO WORK WITH US CLICK HERE TO APPLY TO BE A GUEST ON OUR PODCAST JOIN OUR LISTENER WHATSAPP GROUP & SEND US YOUR COMMENTS, SUGGESTIONS OR JUST SAY HI! Welcome to the Health Marketing Collective, where strong leadership meets marketing excellence. The HLTH Conference is right around the corner, and in honor of this year's theme "Be Bold," we're celebrating the upcoming event with a special series of episodes focused on what it means to be bold in marketing. For the first episode of the series, Sara is joined by John Lynn to explore the evolving landscape of health care marketing, focusing on video content, authenticity, and the dynamics of media presence in the health industry. John Lynn is the founder and chief editor at HealthCareSCENE, which includes platforms like HealthCare IT Today and SwaayHealth, boasting over 17,000 articles, 600 podcast episodes, and a community of over 200,000 followers. John's insights into media trends and health IT make him a perfect guest for discussing how to stand out in the crowded healthcare landscape. We're diving into the crucial shift from traditional articles to video content for storytelling, the evolution in content syndication focusing on social media clips, and the growing importance of authenticity in today's content. John shares his expertise in dealing with the noisy healthcare industry by emphasizing customer-centric messaging over using trending but often overused buzzwords. We'll also touch on personal connections cultivated through video content, the philosophy behind genuine conversations, and the challenge of maintaining this authenticity across various content forms, such as podcasts, newsletters, and social media. Thank you for being part of the Health Marketing Collective, where strong leadership meets marketing excellence. The future of healthcare depends on it. Key Takeaways: Shift from Articles to Video Content: John Lynn underscores a notable shift in content strategy—from prioritizing written articles to embracing video content for storytelling. This transition caters to modern consumer preferences and allows for versatile repurposing across articles, podcasts, newsletters, and social media, broadening content reach and engagement. Authenticity in Content: The age of overly polished content is waning. Listeners now crave raw, authentic conversations. John emphasizes the preference for less polished, genuine content as more relatable and trustworthy, fostering a personal connection between the audience and content creators. Evolution in Consumer Behavior: There is a growing preference for brief, "quick hit" content among consumers, which often sparks interest in longer, more in-depth content. This shift suggests that concise, engaging clips on platforms like Instagram or TikTok can serve as gateways to more comprehensive material. Journalism and Conference Coverage: The landscape of health journalism, especially in covering conferences, is changing. Financial constraints and evolving media preferences mean journalists attend fewer conferences, while user conferences see a rise in popularity. John emphasizes the importance of capturing valuable insights and connecting directly with people over rigid session attendance. Balancing Quality and Authenticity: Creating content that strikes a balance between high quality and authenticity is paramount. John discusses the practice of preparing for discussions with bullet points to stay organized while avoiding scripts for a more credible and natural conversation. This approach ensures content is both informative and genuine. We hope you enjoyed this deep dive into the modern dynamics of health care marketing with John Lynn. Remember, the key to standing out in this noisy landscape lies in authenticity, leveraging brief content for deeper engagement, and understanding the evolving preferences of your audience. Stay tuned for more insightful discussions on the...
