Whilst there are thousands of them dotted across the country, farms are a very unique place of work. And the reason for this is that farms are the livelihood of the farmers themselves and almost always, the farmers live on the farm. This means, if the farmers have children, the children are also on the farm and in many cases, they will work on the farm, often from a young age.   But just like any workplace and any home, accidents can happen and some of these are serious.   Today we have 3 guests who each have a different role to play in farm safety for children and are coming to this conversation from different perspectives.    RCH, Farm Safety Fact Sheet https://www.rch.org.au/kidsinfo/fact_sheets/Farm_Safety/   VFF, Child Safety on Farms Guidebook Available with additional information: https://www.makingourfarmssafer.org.au/resources/child-safety-on-farm-handbook/ Direct link for handbook: https://www.makingourfarmssafer.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/VFF-Child-Safety-on-Farms-Guidebook-PDF.pdf   Kidsafe Victoria, Farm Safety Information and resources https://www.kidsafevic.com.au/home-safety/farm-safety-creative-competition/ Direct link to parent guide to farm safety: https://www.kidsafevic.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/202204-Kidsafe-Parents-Guide-to-Farms-web-version.pdf Direct link to farm safety checklist: https://www.kidsafevic.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Farm-Safety-Checklist_Digital.pdf   Victorian Better Health Channel, Farm Safety Information https://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/health/healthyliving/farm-safety-children   Royal Life Saving Australia, Farm Water Safety https://www.royallifesaving.com.au/stay-safe-active/locations/farm-water-safety

From US Formal Request: Qatar Directs Hamas to Leave Doha.Qatar told Hamas that it must close its diplomatic office in Doha roughly ten days ago following a request by the US, senior Biden administration officials tell The Times of Israel. Qatar has hosted Hamas officials in Doha since 2012, amid requests from successive US administrations who felt it was important to have a communication channel with the terror group.3. US to Allow American Contractors to Operate in Ukraine. The Biden administration has lifted a ban on American military contractors deploying to Ukraine to help the country's military maintain and repair US-provided weapons systems, particularly F16 fighter jets and Patriot air defense systems.4. Integration of this software enables surface and subsurface watercraft to function autonomously on various maritime missions, such as mine detection and clearance, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, electronic warfare, and rescue missions in remote locations. 5. Continuing from episode 91, we continue our deep dive into Popper's Conjectures and Refutations Chapter 8 where Popper explains how to use his epistemology on philosophical theories that (by definition) can't be 'refuted'. Despite agreeing with most of Popper's specific arguments, we offer some considerable criticisms to Popper's approach to criticizing philosophical theories -- particularly to Popper's criticisms of the theory of Determinism which is a 'best theory' by any fair standard but Popper (incorrectly) thought was false. Bruce argues that Popper's approach in C&R Ch. 8 is problematic because it opens the 'Crit Rat Loophole', which is a common way CritRats interpret Popper that allows any preferred theory to be declare a 'best theory' based on the scantest of criticisms. Bruce argues that Chapter 8 of C&R fails in this important regard because it doesn't give a good answer to the question "How does one tell the difference between a good philosophical explanation and a bad explanation?" --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/four-strands/support

Emmy was born 7 weeks prematurely, in a dramatic entrance which has paved the way for Emmy's life so far. Sonja shares the story of Emmys birth, her time in SCN and the genetic testing and diagnosis of Patau Syndrome and the mosaic nature of the results. This time was gut wrenching whilst Emmy was in hospital and they couldn't be together. She came home at 6.5 weeks and was healthy and growing beautifully. Sonja began the journey of hip dysplasia and microcephaly initially and had a hip brace and avoided a head brace. Emmy then got her nickname as baby Elton John with her first pair of glasses.Sonja grew up in America, and lives in Melbourne, so her family came to Australia with their family heirloom gown for Emmy to wear at her christening. It was a very special time.Sonja was told to google Patau Syndrome/Trisomy 13 by her Doctor and she found it affects one in 4000 - 20,000 people. Emmy's geneticist told Sonja that her results had not been found in anyone else in the world and now that Emmy is older, they have met another little boy from QLD.Emmy has had some significant respiratory illness in her life and at age 3, she was extremely unwell and had a cardiac arrest in the ambulance on the way to RCH and thankfully was resuscitated and recovered. She had many respiratory admissions to hospital for many years.Emmy began schooling in mainstream, and then moved to a specialist school in grade one which coincided by covid 2020. Emmy enjoys school and is now in grade 6.Emmy is dramatic, friendly, be anyones best friend, she is a storyteller with a terrific memory. — The focus of Yildiz work has always been on helping herself and others to fulfill our potential in becoming empowered to live more satisfied and meaningful lives. Mental health professionals often maintain a sense of loyalty to their chosen modality that may become a restriction to exploring other ways of working or thinking. Yildiz work invites you to come out of your school of thought, at least for a while, and explore what is taking place in terms of innovation and development in the psychotherapy world and the formation of new approaches. New approaches are taking what is of value from each of the major strands of former approaches and integrating them into new modalities so as to provide a means to improve their effectiveness with clients as mental health professionals continue on their own personal and professional growth paths. Rapid Core Healing (RCH) is a dual approach of psychotherapy that is composed of Emotional Mind Integration (EMI) and Family Constellations (FC). Yildiz have adopted a largely humanistic philosophical stance in developing RCH in that it is largely person-centered and experiential, while also solution- focused, psychodynamic and brief. Valeria interviews Yildiz Sethi — She is the author of  “-Rapid Core Healing Pathways To Growth And Emotional Healing: Using The Unique Dual Approach Of Family Constellations And Emotional Mind Integration: For Personal And Systemic Health.” Yildiz is the innovator and founder of Rapid Core Healing and Emotional Mind Integration that is presented in her book Rapid Core Healing Pathways to Growth and Emotional Healing. Rapid Core Healing is a two-pronged approach developed to work with an issue from the systemic and personal (biography) aspects in a truly wholistic and revolutionary manner for brief, deep and effective interventions of disturbances, conflicts and trauma. She is a psychotherapist, educator, change & transformation specialist, systemic Family Constellations Practitioner & Trainer and Speaker. To learn more about Yildiz Sethi and her work, please visit: https://rapidcorehealing.com/             — This podcast is a quest for well-being, a quest for a meaningful life through the exploration of fundamental truths, enlightening ideas, insights on physical, mental, and spiritual health. The inspiration is Love. The aspiration is to awaken new ways of thinking that can lead us to a new way of being, being well.

Welcome to the Simple Homeschool podcast with Jamie C. Martin and my 18-year-old son, Jonathan! We're currently in the middle of a podcast series called "Reflections from a Homeschool Graduate." * Today's episode is sponsored by Brighterly Online Math and Popular Book Company. Jonathan was homeschooled from K-12th grade so he has a unique perspective, and in this episode we chatted about Relationship-Centered Homeschooling (RCH), one of our favorite topics. What is Relationship-Centered Homeschooling and why do you need it in your homeschool? Listen in to find out! Technical Note: Jonathan had a cold when we recorded this episode, so his audio is softer than it would usually be. It will be louder in future episodes. In Episode 105, you'll hear us answer these questions:  How do we define Relationship-Centered Homeschooling? What are the advantages and disadvantages to Relationship-Centered Homeschooling? How do you get started with RCH if you haven't done it all along? Would you like to submit a homeschooling question for Jamie and Jonathan to answer in an upcoming episode? If so, email it to jamie@simplehomeschool.net with "Podcast Question" as the subject line. Find the rest of the show notes and links for this episode by clicking here.

One in five children (19%) are anxious about attending school or kindergarten. On average, parents recognise only half of the common signs and symptoms of mental health problems in children. Only one in three parents are confident they could tell the difference between ‘normal' worries in children and anxiety that might need professional help. What are kids anxious about?
