James and Keith sit down with Redfin's CEO, Glenn Kelman. As a top leader and innovator, Glenn shares his journey with Redfin from its early tech-driven approach to a more nuanced understanding of real estate as a service industry, emphasizing the human aspect of the single biggest transaction people will experience. This conversation also touches on the issue of dual agency and the impacts of the NAR settlement. Without compromising Redfin's own litigations, Glenn shares his own frustrations with the settlement and why MLSs need to close the loophole on clear cooperation. With his decades of experience, Glenn reflects on valuable lessons he's learned over the years, such as the significance of technology in enhancing service rather than replacing agents, and addresses the recent pivot towards a variable compensation model at Redfin. In this episode, Stacie Shannon dives into the captivating story behind the emerging Anchored Tiny Homes franchise with Co-Founder and CEO Colton Paulhus. Discover how the initial focus on tiny homes on wheels transformed into a thriving business, especially after the introduction of California's law allowing accessory dwelling units (ADUs) on residential lots. Colton's narrative takes us through the early successes, challenges, and the pivotal moment when Anchored Tiny Homes decided to pivot towards ADUs. Fast forward to 2023, and Anchored Tiny Homes has become a franchise phenomenon, awarding over 60 territories across the United States. Colton reflects on the industry's future, highlighting the increasing importance of ADUs in addressing housing inventory and affordability concerns. The podcast also unveils a new venture – small, affordable houses – expanding Anchored Tiny Homes' reach and impact. Colton shares what type of experience a franchise owner needs: "Our early successful franchisees that are up and rolling and having sales early on like Austin, Texas, Boise, Salt Lake City, are starting to crush it similar to what we've been doing. None of them have construction backgrounds, but they do have sales backgrounds, and they can sell to customers because this product is anywhere from $90,000 to $400,000. So you're selling something other than a T-shirt or a hamburger, right? It's an expensive product; you must convince people to move forward. So we're excited about people who don't have much construction experience because we've laid out the system from A to Z." Join us in this informative and inspiring episode as we explore the fascinating world of Anchored Tiny Homes, offering an affordable housing solution and an enticing franchise opportunity. Whether intrigued by the tiny living movement or considering a franchise investment, this episode is a must-listen. Thank you for tuning in to "Franchise Life." Stay inspired and informed on the latest in this franchise world. ✅ Stay Connected with Me.

Many agents are terrified of fumbling over a script and ruining their interaction with a prospect. What is a key mindset shift we should have about scripts and how we use them? What are some of the things that go wrong with scripts, and how do we break tension and awkwardness? On this episode, we are joined by real estate legend and queen of scripts, negotiation and dialogue, Alexis Bolin, to talk about sharpening our communication skills. Scripts and dialogue are nothing more than asking the right questions. -Alexis Bolin Resources: - Join the Club Wealth Real Estate Agent Mastermind Facebook Group - Get info on the Business Strategy Mastermind Conference November 12th-15th 2018 in Anaheim, CA Three Things We Learned From This Episode Why we should not try to be our agents’ friend When it comes to our teams and agents, we need to stop trying to be their friend. When we do that, we’re not doing them any favors because it leads them to shake off the responsibility they have for their own success. We give them the tools, support and systems and the rest is on them. How to rethink scripts We call them scripts and dialogues, but they are nothing more than answering questions and providing information. If we learn to gather information properly by asking the questions, we can provide what the prospect is looking for.. How to have tough discussions with clients Not everything we’re going to say to our clients is going to be something they want to hear. Sometimes they’ll have to hear some hard truths. To do this without negatively impacting the relationship, ask for permission to deliver a message to prepare them for it. Scripts are everywhere in our lives, whether it’s learning the alphabet, counting, or song lyrics. We shouldn’t look at scripts like as an impossible obstacle to overcome. It’s all about communicating, being empathetic, and being genuine. If we genuinely care, this will shine through every single word we say. Excelling at scripts comes down to knowing when to talk and when to listen.
