Since his injury, Tyler earned high school, Bachelor's and Master's degrees and is a screenwriter based in Los Angeles. There are more than 358,000 people living with spinal cord injuries in the United States, and according to the National Spinal Cord Injury Statistical Center, there are 17,810 new cases each year.
