This episode hosts Erez Levin to examine the shifting boundaries of acceptable public speech and what this reveals about the health of modern democratic societies. The conversation explores his central argument that liberal democracies depend not only on formal legal frameworks, but also on informal social guardrails, shared moral taboos that limit the public acceptability of overt hateful bigotry and dehumanising rhetoric. As these guardrails weaken in fragmented and algorithmically driven information environments, previously marginal forms of rhetoric can become more visible, more tolerated, and in some cases gradually normalised within mainstream political discourse.Erez Levin is an advertising technologist and former Google employee whose work focuses on the intersection of digital media systems, online advertising incentives, and the health of public discourse. Through his “Holding the Line” project and writing on Substack, he examines how societies can maintain democratic resilience by reinforcing shared norms that constrain the social acceptability of overt hateful bigotry, while preserving space for open political debate. The International Risk Podcast brings you conversations with global experts, frontline practitioners, and senior decision-makers who are shaping how we understand and respond to international risk. From geopolitical instability and organised crime to cybersecurity threats and hybrid warfare, each episode explores the forces transforming our world and what smart leaders must do to navigate them. What does it actually mean to bet on yourself, and how do you know if the game you're playing is really the one you want to be in?In this special episode of Supra Insider, Marc Baselga and Ben Erez record together in person for the first time, sitting down at a studio in New York to have an honest, unscripted conversation about optionality, partnership, and what they've learned from building Insider Loops over the last seven months. They open with the question hanging over a lot of high-agency people right now: with AI making it easier than ever to go from idea to product, should you leave your job and bet on yourself? Marc names the only full-time role that genuinely tempts him, Anthropic, and then explains exactly why he still wouldn't take it. Ben unpacks why he accomplished 20% of what he was capable of during his full-time years, and what changed. They go deep on why bootstrapping is harder than raising VC money, but why the constraints force the kind of market discipline that most funded companies never develop. They map out their complementary skill sets, how they've shifted from long-term planning to weekly cadence, and why they now think planning more than a week ahead is mostly a waste of time. The conversation closes on the role of the podcast itself, why it has to stay separate from the business, why fun is an emergent property and not a frivolous goal, and why the relationship comes first. If you're weighing whether to leave a stable job and go off on your own, curious about what a bootstrapped partnership actually looks like day to day and what makes it work, or just want a rare honest conversation between two builders about what they'd do differently and what they wouldn't change, this episode is for you.A special thanks Alex Pavlou and the team at 28th & Park for the recording space! All episodes of the podcast are also available on Spotify, Apple and YouTube.New to the pod? What does it actually take to make fractional work sustainable, not just for a few months, but as a real career path?In this special solo session, Ben Erez shares everything he's learned about fractional product work from two distinct perspectives: as Head of Product at Continuum (a Series A marketplace for fractional executives that eventually shut down) and from his own two years doing fractional work. He walks through the foundations that set you up for success, how to actually find work and structure engagements, and most importantly, how to make it sustainable and not die. Ben is ruthlessly honest about what worked, what failed, and why intentionality is the difference between loving fractional work and hating it.He covers the counterintuitive truth that narrow positioning beats broad positioning (using Phil Carter as a case study), why you need to learn to enjoy marketing yourself or you'll burn out, and the three non-negotiable requirements for any engagement (relevant expertise + urgent need + budget). Ben shares real revenue data showing the spiky, unsteady income reality, explains the “feast or famine” trap that kills most fractional careers, and why he's skeptical that demand aggregators will ever crack this market at scale. Plus, tactical advice on pricing, the transition from being helpful for free to asking for money, and why referrals beat every other channel. If you're exploring fractional work as a side hustle, between full-time roles after a layoff, or considering it as a long-term path—this session is for you.All episodes of the podcast are also available on Spotify, Apple and YouTube.New to the pod? What does it take to go from “1 out of 10 chance we hit 100 episodes” to actually getting there? In this special milestone episode, Marc Baselga and Ben Erez reflect on reaching 100 episodes of Supra Insider. They share the raw truth about early imposter syndrome—having a Google Doc with pre-written questions, worrying about sounding stupid, focusing more on optics than enjoyment. They discuss the key turning points that made the podcast sustainable: bringing in an editor (reducing their workload from 6-8 hours per week to just recording), stopping the intro recordings, and setting fixed “sacred” time slots that never move. They explore what they've learned about guest selection (intuition-based, not heavily strategic), the tension between timeless vs. timely content, and what successful podcasts have in common—regardless of format. Whether it's Acquired (catalog value, timeless deep dives) or TBPN (daily, day-of relevant), the common thread is two co-hosts who genuinely enjoy each other, are obsessed with making it better over time, stay authentic, and avoid inorganic pressures that force the show to be something it isn't.If you're thinking about starting a podcast, struggling to make one sustainable, or wondering how to build something meaningful that fits your life—this episode is for you.All episodes of the podcast are also available on Spotify, Apple and YouTube.New to the pod? Ari Paparo and Eric Franchi are joined by Erez Levin, a former Googler who focuses on media and inventory quality. They dig into what “quality” really means in programmatic advertising, why short-term outcomes can be misleading, and how incentive structures have pushed spend toward lower-value impressions. Takeaways Quality is best understood through effectiveness, but most measurement overweights short-term signals.  “Not all impressions are created equal.”  quality varies by context, format, and goal.  Video definition loopholes led to premium pricing for lower-attention formats and contributed to market confusion.  MFA, SPO, and curation are connected symptoms of incentives that reward cheap scale and vanity metrics.  Verification helps, but quality needs to be addressed across the full media workflow, including experimentation and MMM.  Agentic buying could either improve quality controls or make it easier to optimize only to what's measurable in the near term.  Publisher traffic declines reinforce the difference between commoditized content and differentiated journalism or creator-led media.  Chapters 00:00 Welcome and introduction to media quality 01:29 Marketecture Live updates and announcements 04:18 Erez Levin on why advertising quality matters 06:00 Defining quality vs outcomes in digital advertising 08:30 Brand impact, long-term effectiveness, and mental availability 09:43 Lessons from Google AdX and DV360 10:58 Video misclassification, IAB definitions, and market fallout 14:03 Outstream video, pricing, and mobile gaming use cases 17:00 MFA, SPO, and the real causes of inventory quality problems 19:03 Tools, verification, and the role of measurement frameworks 20:30 Agentic buying, AI, and control over media quality 22:41 AI news: Google UCP, AdCP, and agentic commerce 30:13 Apple, Siri, and Google Gemini's implications 34:16 Publisher traffic decline and the future of content 36:23 Agentic buying vs RTB and portfolio theory 42:34 AppleCart funding and influence-based advertising 45:04 Liftoff IPO filing and the mobile ad tech landscape 47:57 Google antitrust lawsuits update 49:03 Closing thoughts and wrap-up Learn more about your ad choices. Erez Druk, CEO of Freed, was motivated to bring technology to the healthcare environment based on his wife's experience as a family medicine doctor.  Freed was founded to alleviate the provider's administrative burdens by leveraging AI to streamline pre-visit preparation, billing, and EHR maintenance.  The focus is on small and rural private practices, giving them tools to save time, reduce costs, and maintain their independence. Erez explains, "So the need that I identified, together with my wife Gabi, was that clinicians need more time in their lives. They want to spend less time on this admin work and more time again with their patients and families. And that was it, thinking about how we can use these new technologies and feel better products that really take care of that, help clinicians be happier and freer, hence the name Freed. Yes, super proud now to be supporting more than 25,000 clinicians who will use Freed to do a lot of this work for them. So that's how the need was identified for years of watching the pain, let's say."   "But my background is, so I studied mathematics and computer science back in Israel. So I'm originally from Israel. In the Technion, we like to think of Technion as the MIT of Israel. So I studied there as an undergrad, and then I moved to the Bay Area to work for Facebook as an engineer. I was very lucky to start on the same day on the same team with this guy named Andrey, who, 10 years later, after lots of convincing, is my co-founder and CTO. So he is the real technical brain behind what we're doing here. So I worked as an engineer and tech lead at Facebook, and then I started working in my first startup called UrbanLeap." "And with EHR integration- I'm going a bit into the weeds here- but EHR integration is a big problem in healthcare that is mostly unsolved. So, we built an agent, which we call "EHR Push," that goes into the EHR and, like a human, finds the right fields, navigates to the right places, and puts the note and everything in the EHR for the clinician. And it's working amazingly. It saves clinicians a lot of time. And that's another example of how we apply this agentic AI to solve more and more complex problems for the clinician, keep it simple, and just save as much time as we can for clinicians." #FreedAI  #AIscribes #HealthcareAI #ClinicianBurnout #HealthTech #AIinHealthcare #HealthcareAI #MedicalDocumentation #HealthcareInnovation #DigitalHealth #PhysicianWellness #HealthcareEfficiency #MedTech GetFreed.AI Download the transcript here

And that's another example of how we apply this agentic AI to solve more and more complex problems for the clinician, keep it simple, and just save as much time as we can for clinicians." #FreedAI  #AIscribes #HealthcareAI #ClinicianBurnout #HealthTech #AIinHealthcare #HealthcareAI #MedicalDocumentation #HealthcareInnovation #DigitalHealth #PhysicianWellness #HealthcareEfficiency #MedTech GetFreed.AI Listen to the podcast here

Erez Levin, a prominent figure in the Ad Tech industry known for his focus on quality joins AdTechGod on the podcast today. They discuss Erez's journey from Google to founding his advisory firm, the complexities of defining quality in marketing, and the importance of ad placement and publisher quality. The conversation dives into the incentives that drive the industry, the accountability of marketers, and the future of quality in advertising. Erez emphasizes the need for marketers to demand better effectiveness for their spend and to question the status quo in the industry. Takeaways Quality in advertising is a range, not a binary. Marketing should be viewed as a cloud science, not a clock science. Investing in quality controls can yield significant benefits. The buy side has commoditized media, leading to a race to the bottom. Quality media will be increasingly valued in the future. Marketers create the incentives that drive quality in advertising. Don't let perfect be the enemy of the good when it comes to quality controls. The long tail of publishers will likely become commoditized. Trust your gut and question the consensus in the industry. Quality is ultimately determined by effectiveness in advertising. Outside of tech, he is married and expecting his first child. He's into exercising, reading and coffee. In this episode, I speak with Shiri Mosenzon Erez, Chief Product Officer at commercetools, a global leader in enterprise composable commerce that supports thousands of retailers in hundreds of countries, enabling tens of billions of dollars in revenue annually. Shiri's career journey has taken her from consulting into her first product role at Tesco, through product leadership at Ocado, and now leading at a scale-up with a global enterprise footprint. We cover a lot, including: What commercetools does: An API-first, composable commerce engine powering online trade for major global enterprises and manufacturers, enabling flexibility, resilience, and constant uptime for B2C and B2B commerce. Composable commerce explained: Allowing customers to mix and match best-of-breed components across the commerce value stream or opting for "pre-composed" solutions built on the same composable foundation. Strategic focus in a flexible platform: How the team decides where to build, buy, or partner, using value stream mapping to prioritise and avoid being pulled in too many directions. AI and agents in commerce: From data tagging to conversational assistants and dynamic pricing, Shiri shares early enterprise adoption patterns and the role of commercetools' MCP layer in letting customers plug in the agents they trust. Product team structure: A 55-person product org spanning UX, product management, and close engineering partnerships, with domain-focused teams and a strong CPO–CTO pairing model. Balancing explore vs exploit: Encouraging teams to pivot to higher-value domains when propositions mature, and celebrating decisions to stop work that's no longer impactful. Customer-led vs strategy-led delivery: Using proactive roadmap communication to align big customer requests with company strategy and KPIs, turning reactive asks into collaborative problem-solving. Technical and business balance in PMs: Moving from a largely technical PM base toward a mix of skills, with growing focus on business value and direct engagement with business stakeholders. Leadership approach: Shiri's focus on connecting product strategy to company strategy, advocating at the executive level, and ensuring her teams feel purpose, autonomy, and mastery in their work.
