One critic is arguing that the contract violates state law, a claim bolstered by internal communication within the State Attorney General's Office. The contract is related to a public police use of force database project overseen by the AGO under authorization of a 2021 state law. Signed in June, the contract has Carahsoft work as a subcontractor after IBM, which was originally intended to be part of the project, withdrew during contract negotiations over stipulations regarding intellectual property.

Slam the Gavel welcomes back Nate Munro and Debbie Carroll to the podcast. They were last on Season 5, Episode167.  They ask the vital questions: what happens to parents who are trapped in family court cases with judges who conduct illegal and unethical practices against them?  Where can they go for help? Are there solutions outside of the legal system?  What does it take to have influence in the decisions made in administrative law courtrooms?     Nate Munro and Debbie Carroll tackled these questions in their efforts to identify and create avenues for parents suffering the often capricious actions of judges, magistrates, and attorneys who work in the divorce, custody, and child welfare industries.      Parents going through the courts feel paralyzed, isolated, and terribly uninformed.  They don't know the legal process, and they especially don't expect the legal maneuvers that will be used against them.  Parents hope to be able to trust their own attorneys, but they soon find out that attorneys have their own playbooks they follow it with little regard for the pain and suffering of their clients and their children.      Some of the agencies who represent themselves as recourses include state auditor, ombudsman, Department of Regulatory Agencies, Dept of Law and attorney regulation, State Attorney General, governor's offices, judicial discipline boards, and review processes over the Office of Respondent Parent Counsel and the ORC (for GALs).  Nate and Debbie ask: what happens when these agencies fail and what other options do parents have?     Nate and Debbie have supported parents in these courts for nearly a decade.  They discussed various methods and resources to redirect the trajectory of these cases that are on auto-pilot to destruction. https://www.9news.com/article/news/local/robin-niceta-human-services-audit/73-a7c60392-619a-4116-a594-274dc4675b8ahttps://drive.google.com/file/d/1qQ9hspppr-O5BjjVaYulQIU5NEZpU_sz/view?usp=sharinghttps://coloradosun.com/2024/10/25/opinion-colorado-amendment-h-judicial-review-against/https://www.larimer.gov/spotlights/2023/12/29/former-caseworker-arrested-99-chargesTo Reach Debbie Carroll:  Debbie.car@considerationnonprofit.org    To Reach Nate Munro:  PALADNmedia.substack.com, givesendgo.com/PALADNmedia, patron.com/PALADNmedia, PALADNmedia@protonmedia.com******** Supportshow(https://www.buymeacoffee.com/maryannpetri)Maryann Petri: dismantlingfamilycourtcorruption.comhttps://www.tiktok.com/@maryannpetriFacebook:  https://www.youtube.com/@slamthegavelpodcasthostmar5536Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/guitarpeace/Pinterest: Slam The Gavel Podcast/@guitarpeaceLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/maryann-petri-62a46b1ab/  YouTube:  https://www.youtube.com/@slamtheSupport the showSupportshow(https://www.buymeacoffee.com/maryannpetri)http://www.dismantlingfamilycourtcorruption.com/

Have you ever answered a knock on your door to find someone asking to see your electric bill? Perhaps with the promise of getting you a better deal? If so, you might've come face-to-face with a representative from a competitive electric supplier -- an industry that has been tied to high rates, and at times, illegal activity, targeting some of the states' most vulnerable residents. While some savvy individuals are able to use these suppliers to get a better, or greener deal, State data show that this often isn't the case. In fact, the State Attorney General's office reports that between 2015 and 2021, ratepayers in Massachusetts who used a competitive electric supplier collectively paid $525 million more than if they had kept their utility as their supplier. Good morning and Happy Thursday, #LALiens! Thank you for being with us. If you are new to Law and Legitimacy, greet us in the chat and enjoy the warm company. All we ask? Share the stream with one person. . Today, Norm and Mike tackle: . › North Carolina State Attorney General Josh Stein is the named defendant in Planned Parenthood v. Stein, the lawsuit brought to overturn North Carolina's new law banning abortion after 12 weeks. Stein is also running for Governor of North Carolina in the 2024 election. His recent public announcement as to his decision not to defend the duly enacted law passed by the North Carolina legislature presents an important question about the duties of the office of the State Attorney General, Stein's loyalties to the profession and obligations to his client, and whether his political ambitions have reached an inflection point in the simmering potential for a conflict of interest between the two roles. . › As first reported by Sports Illustrated, the NCAA released a memo yesterday advising member institutions through a series of FAQ's of member obligations under the NIL rules. Of particular note is the NCAA's clear position that state law is inferior to NCAA policy. Norm and Mike discuss. . › The question presented to the Supreme Court of the United States in Harper v. Moore was whether a state's judicial branch may nullify federal elections regulations through judicially created rules of its own. SCOTUS says 'nope.' Norm and Mike discuss. . Join us. . Good Monday Morning #LALiens! We are hoping you're enjoying the longest days of summer and looking forward to our nation's holiday is over a week's time. . Norm and Mike were unable to stream over the weekend, but not to worry. Today's stream is bringing the heat: . › Norm had an early triumph over Yale University late last week, as he successfully persuaded the court to allow his client's defamation claim proceed against a Yale University student who falsely alleged rape against him in 2015. Norm and Mike unpack Title IX. . › Loyal LAL listeners will recall the story of the attorneys in a civil suit out of the Southern District of New York who submitted briefs to the court which cited cases generated out of whole cloth by ChatGPT. Those attorneys have been sanctioned by the court. Was the punishment sufficient? . › Late last week, North Carolina's State Attorney General and Democrat Governor hopeful, Josh Stein, took to Twitter in what can only be called an advertisement of his own direct subversion of duly enacted North Carolina law. In particular, SCOTUS' decision in Dobbs to overturn Roe v. Wade resulted in North Carolina's legislature voting to enact a new bill placing limits on abortion, which was promptly vetoed by Governor Roy Cooper, who's veto was subsequently overridden by two-thirds of North Carolina's legislature. In the latest, North Carolina's top lawyer has now promised not to defend the parts of the law he himself disagrees with, in a lawsuit brought by Planned Parenthood. On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show, as usual, Democrats are spreading disinformation about violence and trying to pin it on Republicans. Yet, the media is silent about it. To what extent are the Democrats and the left within the media responsible for spreading violence for failing to do their jobs objectively? Then, President Biden makes a political speech days before the midterms. He ignored inflation, but he promoted his big lie that the attack on Nancy Pelosi was somehow related to January 6th, instead of putting the blame on a drug-addicted, mentally ill illegal alien nudist with a history of leftwing activism. The Democrats do this because they cannot run on their records of impoverishing the citizenry and affirmatively supporting violent criminals to remain on the street. Later, Michigan Gubernatorial Candidate Tudor Dixon calls in with a quick update from the campaign trail on her plan to restore education in Michigan and return power to the people. Afterward, Arizona US Senate candidate Blake Masters joins the show to remind us how the media and the Democrats work hand-in-hand to advance their common political goals. Masters says the Republican ticket in Arizona is united. Finally, Nevada US Senate candidate Adam Laxalt, former State Attorney General of Nevada, checks in with a report on his race against Sen. Castro-Masto. Laxalt says that the era of rubber stamps for Biden, Pelosi, and Schumer must end.  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
