I loved speaking with this week's guest because I've been following her on Instagram for quite some time now. In this episode I catch up with Nichole Dandrea-Russert. You may know her better by her online persona through Instagram @purley__planted. Nichole is a dietician and nutritionist that specializes in plant-based nutrition. She's been plant-based herself for about a decade and has seen the positive impact that it can have on a person's body.Since starting this podcast back in 2020 I've spoken with many people who discuss the good things that come from eating a plant-based diet. I've definitely worked more plants into my diet in the last few years and I've given up things like dairy in the process. It's amazing what some simple diet changes can do to your overall health. In this conversation we primarily discuss her new book titled 'The Vegan Athlete's Nutrition Handbook: The Essential Guide For Plant-Based Performance.' We also discuss our mutual admiration for Dotsie Bausch, the death threats I received when I told people about the negatives of dairy, how important magnesium is and other things. I hope you enjoy our conversation and that you check out her book!

RUSH: You know, I'm sitting here, folks, and I'm watching all this self-absorbed remembrances going on in the media today about 9/11, and I promise you we're not going to do that. I'm not going to bother telling you what I thought on 9/11. It wasn't about me. There's one thing that strikes me. It just hit me like a bolt of lightning this morning as I'm watching this stuff. There is one day a year where the Democratic Party and the American left admit that 9/11 happened, and it's 9/11, it's today. Now, what happened to the other 364 days of the year? They just pretend it never happened. But today, oh, yes, it happened. We're out there doing the mass mush walk, and it's interesting to note. Greetings, my friends, and welcome. Rush Limbaugh here behind the Golden EIB Microphone at the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies. The telephone number today has not changed, ladies and gentlemen: 800-282-2882, and the e-mail address if you want to send an e-mail is Rush@eibnet.com. Got lots of great audio sound bites today. Dick Cheney yesterday, masterful on Meet the Press. Russert assumed the role of a prosecutor yesterday, and Cheney held up well. I watched The Path to 9/11 last night on the plane ride back home from Los Angeles. I wanted to watch the Manning bowl which was on at the same time. So I intended just to watch the parts of the movie I knew where there might be edits, and I couldn't tear myself away from it, even a second time, ladies and gentlemen. We'll talk about it in greater detail here in just a moment. But the edits were not that severe. They really weren't. https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2006/09/11/it_s_the_one_day_a_year_democrats_must_admit_that_9_11_actually_happened/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.com

Design houses are one of the elements unique to interior design and architecture. It’s like our version of the runway show in fashion, or the car show in the auto industry. Christopher Kennedy has become quite adept at ideating the design house and executing them. Christopher is a regular fixture in Palm Springs during Modernism Week and you have heard about some of those here on the podcast and even seen some of the interviews on our YouTube channel. As a side note, before I started the podcast, I produced a design house in Hollywood I called Small Space, Big Style and Christopher was a featured designer on the project. He masterfully designed a 70’s inspired living room and was an absolute pleasure to work with. So when I heard that Christopher was creating a design house in Central California, I really wanted to cover it for you. I had another idea at the time, I wanted to assign this project to someone who could cover its from a designer’s perspective so I reached out good friend, previous guest and fabulous design talent, Nancy Russert of Les Beaux and Twist Custom to go and see this project. She did, and in the process, created what is really a travel journal to the Central California Valley City of Turlock, definitely NOT a hotbed of design to see this project. A Their Story interview with Sean Martin & Marco Ciappelli Guest: Paul Russert, VP of Marketing, SecurityFirst The organization telling us their story today is SecurityFirst. As it often happens, when we do not know who the author is for an excellent wisdom quote, we attribute to Confucius. This quote below doesn't belong to him either, but we certainly cannot deny the value and truth that comes with it: "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life." Most cybersecurity professionals we meet seem to have followed their passion when they stepped into this job—this career. Yes, this is the case for our today's guest—Paul Russert—who was blessed with an early retirement opportunity from the tech industry and found himself filling his time volunteering for Habitat for Humanity as a construction leader. While fulfilling, Paul realized that, after three years, he had "nobody to play with," and he needed to go back for more. The driver to select information security as the "something more" to do was rooted in two events: 1) Paul's government security clearance was included in the OPM breach, and; 2) a former colleague of Paul's called him to ask him to join his cybersecurity start-up. Paul was ready for the change—and the challenge—and made the jump back into the corporate world. He is now helping organizations protect the data they have with a solution that connects intelligent encryption with in-depth access control capabilities on top of existing identity management tools. This ensures that only those with approved access are allowed to see the data through an agreed set of applications bound to the time(s) specified within the approved policies. Setting aside key management for the moment, this may seem like a fairly straight-forward problem to solve—apply encryption to hard drives and file systems, and you're all set, right? Not so fast. With the unstoppable push to API-enable, everything companies are finding it difficult to manage access control, encryption, and searchable decryption within their connected application stack. And that's where SecurityFirst comes into play. Have a listen to our conversation as we understand the details for some of the challenges organizations are facing in light of this new API-driven world we live in; a topic that needs to be addressed full-on as we try to find that perfect balance of capability and security driven by our a newfound desire to protect our personal privacy. It is not a natural balance to find, but encryption seems so be the leveling tool. Listen up and think about it.
