This week on the podcast, Craig and Matty are stuck on Stacie Orrico, a Christian Contemporary artist who was signed by Virgin Records and launched as a mainstream pop star in the '00s. (There's Gotta Be) More To Life was her second single, and it's flipping brilliant. We discuss the track and the music video (with its many looks, both good and bad). Matty gives an informed, technical analysis of Stacie Orrico's voice, plus, find out which iconic '00s movie Craig has never seen. Chad Hovind interviews 9 time Grammy Award winner, Eddie DeGarmo. Eddie DeGarmo has sold millions of records as an artist in a genre he helped to invent, millions as a record label executive and entrepreneur, and impacted hundreds of millions of people as a music publisher. Throughout his over fifty years in music, DeGarmo has had a storied career with success as an artist, songwriter, producer, and businessman. He was one of the leading pioneers of contemporary Christian music as part of rock duo DeGarmo and Key, which was recently inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. He started mixing his newfound teenaged faith with rock and roll, the only music that felt natural to him, long before most churches were ready for drums and amps. His band, DeGarmo and Key, slogged it out on the road for years, taking arrows from both the sanctified and the secular before breaking through as one of the most successful bands of the genre. During his 17 years with DeGarmo and Key and a successful solo endeavor, DeGarmo sold millions of albums and garnered 9 Grammy nominations and dozens of Dove Award nominations. He went on to co-found ForeFront Records, where he developed multi-platinum selling and Grammy-winning artists such as dc Talk, Stacie Orrico, Audio Adrenaline, Geoff Moore and the Distance and Rebecca St. James. He was then recruited to lead the largest faith-based music publisher Capitol CMG Publishing. Under his supervision, the company went on to change the face of “Modern Worship” music. He with DeGarmo and Key was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame on the same day as his Memphis hometown hero, Johnny Cash. Eddie and Susan enjoy their daughters, son in laws, and grandkids in Nashville, TN.

Multi-Grammy Nominated Drummer, Eric Harland is the most 'In demand drummer' of his generation. He has already been on close to 200 recordings at his age of 36. Eric has been recognized in the Boston Globe, New York Times, JazzTimes, Modern Drummer, All About Jazz, The New Yorker, DownBeat, Vogue and other prominent publications. Harland has shared the stage with masters such as Betty Carter, Joe Henderson, MyCoy Tyner, Michael Brecker, Terence Blanchard, Branford and Wynton Marsalis, Wayne Shorter, Savion Glover, Bill Cosby and many others, as well as todays up and coming artist like Esperanza Spalding, Jane Monheit, Taylor Eigsti, Julian Lage, Stacie Orrico and so on. Eric Harland graciously sits down with me, to share some of where he's come from, practice 'routines' and how he thinks of putting together his sounds/rigs for the gigs he plays... Eric - was in town with one of today's hottest and most forward thinking saxophonists, Chris Potter... I had just had the great fortune to catch these guys the night before... The new record Chris Potter's "Circuits" features this trio of virtuosic players, with Eric Harland on drums, and James Francis- keyboards... I'll probably always remember that this was taped on an afternoon during a blizzard... the band, still to get word whether they were going to do just one set that night or a regularly scheduled second show - due to hazardous travel... In stark contrast to the cold... this band's performances were Smokin' Hot !!! Without further adieu, Eric's interview...
