This POD is a highly requested episode from our clients: understanding the equity package that tech companies and startups offer nowadays as part of an employee's compensation.  There are different types of equity - some of the most common ones are RSU (restricted stock units), NQSO (non-qualified stock options), and ISO (incentive stock options).  How should one decide what package to choose if the company offers multiple combos?  Tim pointed out that it really depends on whether the company is publicly traded or privately owned.  There are so many things to consider: what your spending vs. your cash flow looks like, do you need to live off the equity in the short term, do you need to bring cash to exercise the equity, and what are the tax consequences for each option…? Another “option craze” perspective is that younger generations switch jobs more frequently than their parents.  That means you are building your own little investment portfolio with all the tech/startups' stocks/options/units.  As Tim said, a long-term mindset is especially important if you want to take full advantage of these packages.

TSP116 - The Dell Years 19 years ago this week, Southampton's beloved old football stadium closed its doors for the final time. Having hosted the last ever competitive match (vs Arsenal on 19th May 2001), and the last EVER match (vs Brighton on 26th May 2001), it saw 103 years of dedicated service come to an end. To celebrate one of England's famous old football stadiums, TSP116 sees Ben Stanfield (Host), Glen de la Cour (LeagueOneMinus10) and Will Dawe (Saints Archive) joined by Russell Masters, the man behind Historic Southampton. Among other things, the panel discuss Saints first moving to The Dell (in 1898), the first ever match, stuffing Pompey, boxing bouts, World War 2 attacks, record attendances and, of course, the final competitive goal - scored by the one and only, Matt Le Tissier. DC released full previews of Shazam and Aquaman, there’s a first look at Godzilla: King of the Monsters, M. Night Shyamalan dropped his first trailer for Glass, we got a second peak at the Crimes of Grindelwald (lolol), and after our MCU attentions, we were compelled to finally review the teaser for Captain Marvel. It’s a fun short episode here, and we’ll have another host of trailer reviews coming later in the week as a bunch more Oscars contenders have given us full previews of coming attractions. Mike 1 is on vacation, but he’s been editing through it, and we double timed it last week in our recording schedule not to miss a beat. Stay tuned as we’ll get back to our current movie reviews next week. Isle of Dogs, Searching, and Eighth Grade are all possibilities. We may enjoy a Best Original Song halfisode at some point in there. We’ll also be covering BlacKkKlansman as a movie event with Glenn Close’s The Wife as another major OSP as another possibility in August. There’s a huge catalog of MMO episodes for you to plug into and enjoy. We did review all of the Mission Impossible films including a full MI6 profile. We reviewed the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe including full profiles of Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and Ant-Man and the Wasp from this year with a Deadpool 2, cousin of the MCU episode thrown in for good measure. Our Oscars off-season has been music to all of our ears with our series of Best Original Song category halfisodes, nine in all thus far. Then we’ve also kept you current with monthly Hollywood Hot Takes on current movie news, bi-monthly previews of all of the upcoming theatrical releases, and of course, we’ve profiled most of the Oscars contenders like Hereditary, The Incredibles 2, and Sorry to Bother You in full reviews.
