Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher jumped back In The Trenches with Dave Lapham, presented by First Star Logistics, to discuss the newest additions to the Bengals' offensive attack and the return of other key members. Running back Zack Moss, tight end Mike Gesicki, and offensive tackle Trent Brown have been signed, joining returning Bengals Cody Ford, Trenton Irwin, Tanner Hudson, Jake Browning, Trayveon Williams, and Drew Sample. What did Coach Pitcher have to say about each of these players? Join Dave Lapham In The Trenches to discover why Coach Pitcher knows this is a fun time of the NFL year.
Paul and Dave run through a wild first day of free agency with a closer look at Tee Higgins' trade request, the fit and ramifications with Geno Stone at safety, Drew Sample, Akeem Davis-Gaither, Trayveon Williams and even landing a third-round compensatory pick thanks to the NFL's computing error.
Off the Bench for TWO weeks will be hosted by Reid and Casey. Lots of News regarding the Cincinnati Bengals yesterday! The day started with Tee Higgins requesting a trade right before the day began. We covered this on Monday but will touch more on it today with possible scenarios. The Bengals would then resign some key components to the team like Drew Sample, ADG, and Trayveon Williams. Bengals then signed an exterior free agent Geno Stone Safety from Baltimore Ravens. Played great last year with 7 INTs one coming from Joe Burrow. Later on in the evening, we learned that the Bengals were given a 3RD ROUND COMP PICK! Big for their draft and potential trades in the future. Finally late last night we learned that the Bengals had finally parted ways with Joe Mixon and signed Zach Moss a younger more explosive running back for the Cincinnati Bengals.
Ja'Marr Chase went off big time as the Bengals got back to winning ways in Arizona. And there was more good news as Joe Burrow looked the best has all season. The dub took Cincinnati to 2-3 and, incredibly, only one game off the lead of the AFC North as both Pittsburgh and Baltimore faltered.Zim was speaking to Ja'Marr Chase's dad at the match in Arizona and they both enjoyed an insane display by Chase Jnr.Uno bagged 15 receptions, 192 yards, and 3 touchdowns and seemed unstoppable as Chase and Joe Burrow looked back to their best for some crucial hook-ups.Ace describes how the offensive line played a big part in allowing Burrow to throw a bomb to Chase, breaking the game open, and he has praise for Jonah Williams after previously being critical of the OT.While the offense looked much better, the defense very much played their part in the win too with Jermaine Pratt making 10 tackles and grabbing an interception too. There were also plenty of reasons to be happy about the rookies and new boys in the secondary. Jordan Battle earned an 87 grade from PFF, DJ Turner was outstanding and Cam Taylor-Britt snared a crucial pick-six deep in the Cardinals half.A question from the live comments has the guys stumped. Is Trey Hendrickson the best free agent signing ever? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow practiced again, as expected, in his second day back from his calf strain - and by all accounts, he's been impressive in both practices. Plus, we update the practice squaders as Demetric Felton officially signs his deal and preseason standout Raymond Johnson III signed with Detroit's practice squad. We also get into the gameday decisions surrounding the Bengals' running backs - will one of Chase Brown, Chris Evans, or Trayveon Williams be inactive on gameday early in the season while the team sorts out passing down responsibilities?Join the Locked On Bengals Subtext Community! https://joinsubtext.com/lockedonbengalsFind and follow Locked On Bengals on your favorite podcast platforms:Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/locked-on-bengals-daily-podcast-on-the-cincinnati-bengals/id1159723162Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/7AObc0lh0WmQl5fJVgtajsGoogle Podcasts: https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5tZWdhcGhvbmUuZm0vbG9ja2Vkb25iZW5nYWxz?sa=X&ved=0CAYQrrcFahcKEwio_sXtj8nuAhUAAAAAHQAAAAAQAgStitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/show/locked-on-bengalsJames Rapien and Jake Liscow take you inside the Bengals with the latest news, unique analysis, and insight on your favorite team, every day on Locked On Bengals. Bengals running back Joe Mixon still has a critical role on the Bengals' offense. Mixon, entering his seventh season with the team, is still on track to start once more behind quarterback Joe Burrow. His rushing numbers last season didn't match his 2021 Pro Bowl season despite setting career highs in the receiving game. Although Mixon is No. 17 on the Top 25 Bengals entering this season, he's aging as he'll be 27 at the start of training camp. Rookie Chase Brown and veteran backup Trayveon Williams might both be staring him down for more snaps this season too. How fast is the clock ticking on Mixon's time in Cincinnati? Will his 2023 season determine whether or not he makes it for another year in 2024? The Strictly Stripes Podcast forecasts Mixon's outlook past this season and guesses how well he needs to perform to maintain continuity with the Bengals. The future begins now in the Bengals' secondary. Rookies D.J. Turner and Jordan Battle got some light but valuable first-team reps in during organized team activities this week. Several other rookies, like Myles Murphy, showed their earliest flashes with other looks during the activies as well. Cincinnati's offense won't look too different in 2023 but it will change in the backfield as Chase Brown and Trayveon Williams got more reps alongside quarterback Joe Burrow. How different will things look in both the offensive and defensive backfield entering training camp? The Strictly Stripes Podcast looks at the biggest takeaways for the Bengals during their organized team acitvities this week as they look ahead to mandatory minicamp next week. Bengals cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt also joins the podcast for a special chat in the locker room. This podcast features Mohammad Ahmad, Andrew Gillis and Michael Niziolek. There's no guarantee that either Joe Mixon or Samaje Perine will be back under center for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2023. Perine is set to become a free agent. There's a possibility that Mixon could be released to save cap space to pave way for other signings and extensions, most notably for Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. The duo is more than familiar with one another; they both played college football together at Oklahoma and were drafted just two rounds apart from each other in the 2017 NFL Draft. They've been together in Cincinnati since the 2020 season and even played in a Super Bowl together last year. Nothing is guaranteed in a business like the NFL. While both could be back, neither return or only one stays, both certainly made strong cases for why they should remain with Cincinnati. However, in a world where both are back with the Bengals in 2023, who should start behind Burrow next season? Aside from making a case for being in Cincinnati next year, both players each made their own respective cases for why they should the starting RB1 for the Bengals. That was a debate that became a point of discussion last season and that could resurface again within the coming weeks and/or months. The Strictly Stripes crew evaluates how Mixon and Perine respectively performed last year, weighing the pros and cons between both backs. Running back Trayveon Williams, who's also set to hit free agency, also put together a strong showing at kick returner in place of fellow running back Chris Evans. Should the Bengals keep Williams and have him compete for that spot once again? This podcast features Mohammad Ahmad and Andrew Gillis. The Cincinnati Bengals' championship window has tightened up just a bit after last weekend's AFC Championship game loss. Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has said that his championship window is his entire career. That reflects the team's standard of not just reaching but winning the Super Bowl after coming up just short in last year's Super Bowl. But Sunday's loss to the Chiefs was an opportunity that was just within Cincinnati's reach. Like last year's Super Bowl, the Bengals were just a drive away from possibly defeating the Chiefs in near walk-off fashion with two timeouts and 2:30 left on the clock. That makes the loss much more frustrating and worth dwelling over what could've been for a team that was riding a 10-game win streak. Things only get harder for the Bengals internally and externally. On the outside, the AFC is just as competitive, if not more competitive, with the Chiefs, Bills and even the Jaguars among some of the few teams that came close to this year's Super Bowl who could be contenders next year. Furthermore, the Bengals will have some tough decisions to make with Burrow's potential contract extension looming. Depending on how that plays, that will affect how they go about with free agency. Tight end Hayden Hurst is the only offensive starter whose contract is expiring. Linebacker Germaine Pratt and veteran safeties Vonn Bell and Jessie Bates also have their contracts coming up too, presenting a challenge for the Bengals' defensive nucleus that helped them reach back-to-back AFC title games. Those are just some of the biggest names though headlining the Bengals' free agents. Cornerbacks Eli Apple and Tre Flowers are on that list, along with running back Samaje Perine, backup quarterback Brandon Allen, punt returner Trent Taylor and kickoff returner Trayveon Williams among the other tier of free agents to name a few. Does this mean the Bengals' championship window is closing in fast? How much room is left for the franchise to try and get back to the Super Bowl and deliver Cincinnati its first ever championship? The Strictly Stripes crew opens up the offseason talking about what could've been in Sunday's stunning loss at Arrowhead Stadium and assessing how detrimental that was to the Bengals' title hopes. They also look at where coordinators Lou Anarumo and Brian Callahan fit in the coaching carousel and zoom in specifically on Bates and Pratt. Hello, December football. The Cincinnati Bengals are now 7-4 and escape the month of November with a close 20-16 road win over the Tennessee Titans. After a dismal first half from Cincinnati's offense, quarterback Joe Burrow started finding a groove even as he was without Ja'Marr Chase for the fourth straight game this season. Defensively, the Bengals accomplished the very tall task at hand of shutting down "King Henry." Titans running back Derrick Henry had nowhere to run or hide for most of the day as Cincinnati's defense showed no mercy to the league's leading rusher. Without Chase, Burrow found rhythm with tight end Hayden Hurst and wide receiver Tee Higgins who respectively did what they needed to do to keep Cincinnati pressing. Mix in the fact that backup receiver Trenton Irwin made another big catch like he did last week, the Bengals' utilized their already explosive offensive depth. That also means you can't overlook Samaje Perine and Trayveon Williams helping combine to rush for over 100 yards on Sunday to cap off the Bengals' tit-for-tat win. The Strictly Stripes crew is in the Music City breaking down why Cincinnati specifically needed this win as they prepare for an even more challenging Kansas City team back at home next week. They also hand out their game balls and explain how Cincinnati will look with the possible return of Chase and Joe Mixon. This podcast features Mohammad Ahmad, Andrew Gillis and Michael Niziolek. Week 12 of the NFL season is upon us, and the Cincinnati Bengals (6-4) are back in the AFC hunt, looking to take another step toward reaching their 2022 season goals. Coming off a big win over the Pittsburgh Steelers a week ago, the Tennessee Titans (7-3) are looking to answer for last year's playoff loss to the Bengals by keeping Joe Burrow and company from coming to Nashville and taking back another big win. The Bengals know they'll be without running back Joe Mixon in this game and will look towards last week's star, Samaje Perine, Trayveon Williams, and Chris Evans, to carry the load. Questions remain despite talk early in the week that Ja'Marr Chase could return to the field in this game. Burrow and the offense showed they're not a one-man offense against the Steelers and will need to see a repeat performance against the Titans. However, the heavy load might have to be carried by Lou Anarumo and his defensive unit as they look to stop the power running of Derrick Henry, the leading rusher in the National Football League, coming into the weekend. A Bengals win, and they'll be standing with the same record they had a year ago when they made their run to become AFC Champions and reach the Super Bowl. A loss, and you're staring at the Kansas City Chiefs coming to Paycor Stadium with one of the best overall records in the NFL this season. First Star Logistics presented In The Trenches with Dave Lapham, Keys To Bengals Victory.
The Cincinnati Bengals will get a taste of January in November. They head down south to Nashville to rematch a Tennessee Titans team that is more than familiar with them. Titans players and their fans will look to avenge that sour 19-16 walk-off loss to the Bengals in January's AFC divisional playoff matchup. Tennessee will be without one of their pass rushers as outside linebacker Denico Autry is out for Sunday's game. However, the big question mark for the Bengals will be how they draw up their gameplans without running back Joe Mixon. Mixon is also out as well for Sunday with a concussion he sustained against Pittsburgh last week. Thankfully for the Bengals, running back Samaje Perine had a historic game, Chris Evans returns from injury and Trayveon Williams has showed some progress with limited snaps he's had as of late. The depth is there, but how the Bengals will scheme against the Titans is something to watch for Sunday. One of the league's top offenses, led by Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, will go against one of the league's underrated defenses as Tennessee is stout even outside of its pass rush. The winner of this game will have major vindication entering December as the playoff stakes heat up in the AFC. The Strictly Stripes crew lays out all of the elements in what should be one of the most exciting games on deck this Sunday. Plus, they give their final predictions, previews and storylines to watch entering this weekend. This podcast features Mohammad Ahmad, Andrew Gillis and Michael Niziolek. The last time the Cincinnati Bengals faced the Tennessee Titans, the Bengals barely survived with an upset win. Despite pulling out the 19-16 walk-off win in last year's AFC divisional battle in Nashville, Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was sacked nine times, tying a playoff record for most sacks in a playoff game on a quarterback. While the Bengals' offensive line has drastically changed, the Titans' elite pass rush hasn't. Tennessee still boasts key cogs up front like Jeffery Simmons and Denico Autry alongside Bud Dupree and Harold Landry. Tennessee is coming off of one of its best games of the season where it limited Green Bay to 17 points last week. However, there is still momentum on the flipside for Cincinnati. Burrow was only sacked twice in the win over Pittsburgh on Sunday and had another efficient performance throwing for over 300 yards. His partner-in-crime and receiving ace Ja'Marr Chase could return from injury on Sunday after practicing with Burrow on Wednesday. The Bengals are completely avoiding the injury bug on offense as running back Joe Mixon is still in concussion protocol. How will Cincinnati use Samaje Perine and Trayveon Williams if Mixon isn't good to go Sunday? Conversely, how will the Bengals try and stop one of the league's leading rushers in Derrick Henry? The Strictly Stripes crew explains what makes this Sunday's rematch different from last season's playoff game. Plus, they talk about the rise and drop in Joe Burrow's MVP odds, along with some debates on what makes for a good Thanksgiving meal. In the 2019 NFL Draft the Cincinnati Bengals selected two running backs in the sixth round. Both running backs are very good and talented players. I go over what I think of the picks, an overview of each player, and where they will fall on the depth chart.
Joe Mixon finished the 2018 season as the #10 PPR Running Back in only 14 games played, amassing 280 touches for 1,400+ yards from scrimmage and 9 touchdowns. Should we expect more of the same in 2019 or will the injury to first rounder Jonah Williams hurt that production? How high are you willing to draft Mixon this year? We also discuss Gio Bernard and Trayveon Williams.
Back for a second week talking rookie running backs, B_Don and Donkey Teeth roll through the rest of the 2019 RB class. The guys both have rose colored glasses for Justice Hill in Baltimore; they also dig deep on boom or bust candidate Bryce Love in Washington and Bowling Ball Benny Snell in Pittsburgh.Later in the show B_Don highlights a few of his favorite deep targets from this class in Ty Johnson, Travis Homer, and Miles Gaskin while DT expresses some strong feelings for late rounders Darwin Thompson and Rodney Anderson. Other under the radar names featured on this episode of The Sausage Fest include Tony Pollard, Ryquell Armstead, Trayveon Williams, Dexter Williams, Jordan Scarlett, Kerry Whyte, Mike Weber, Qadree Ollison, and Bruce Anderson. Josh Jacobs, David Montgomery, Darrell Henderson, Damien Harris, Trayveon Williams, Devin Singletary are all guys you can expect to come off the board in the first two days of the draft. Gregg will talk about some Day 3 steals and looks at what the market looks like for Bryce Love and Rodney Anderson, both of whom have serious durability concerns.
With the NFL Draft just 2 weeks away, Host Robert Land asks The Draft Network's Benjamin Solak how the Texans should approach it. Look for Solak's work on TheDraftNetwork.com. Among the topics, we discuss: 1) Potential Tackles and Cornerbacks 2) The Depth at Safety 3) Running Backs in the middle rounds 4) GM Brian Gaine's 1st Draft 5) Where Ed Oliver gets drafted 6) Is Houston's own Trayveon Williams a good pick? With the NFL Draft less than a month away, we give an in-depth breakdown of the incoming RB and QB draft class. However, our duo kicks off this episode with their thoughts on the Jordan Howard trade (4:40) and the return of the listener mailbag (10:24). Is Miles Sanders (28:20) the best bet of all RBs to produce if he gets the chance to play, how much upside does Bryce Love (42:43) have, and are pundits overrating Trayveon Williams (49:17)? Will Kyler Murray (50:48) likely be the first overall pick in two-QB dynasty rookie drafts and should the Dolphins take Drew Lock (1:01:18) if he falls to them? The latest Prospect Profile covers Michigan's Chase Winovich and how his arm usage, football IQ and sheer effort enable him to consistently disengage from blockers and create quarterback pressures and tackles for loss! Then, we go over Texas A&M RB Trayveon Williams and his great pass blocking ability and second level running, but will he be able to overcome some obvious tunnel vision and lack of strength between the tackles at the next level?
He led the SEC in rushing this past year, and in his time at Texas A&M, Trayveon Williams put up some gaudy statistics. But are those alone enough to elevate his stature in the 2019 NFL Draft? We took an extended look at the former Aggie, as he makes his way to the pros. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/andysingleton/support

R.C. Fischer of Fantasy Football Metrics helps us kick off our draft coverage as we provide an overview of this draft class's most potentially impactful players at each skill position. Is there a possibility Josh Jacobs (3:43) may not be the top back in this class, are draftniks sleeping on Trayveon Williams (9:39), and is D.K. Metcalf (34:29) being overhyped? David Sills (46:36) may have the talent to make it in the NFL, but will he get the opportunity? Plus, can any rookie QBs outside of Kyler Murray (56:04) make an immediate fantasy impact, and who would be the more desirable fantasy tight end between Irv Smith (1:02:55) and Noah Fant (1:04:09)? Sonic Truth Fantasy Football Podcast, Ep 85: The Podfather Matt Kelley (@Fantasy_Mansion) and Nate Liss (@AnOutragedJew) believe Devin Singletary is one of a handful of under-the-radar satellite back prospects perfectly suited for today's NFL. What do Blake Bortles, Tim Tebow and Josh Allen have in common? The Seahawks are paying Russell Wilson to hand the ball off. If Elijah Holyfield tests well, he could be the 1.01 in dynasty rookie drafts. Damian Harris and Josh Jacobs are both very attractive running back prospects. Bryce Love's low reception totals are a concern. Karan Higdon is the Podfather's mom's work friend. Devin Singletary is an undersized production monster. Darrell Henderson looks like the next Aaron Jones. Trayveon Williams was a monster producer at Texas A&M. David Montgomery may get buried by late round draft capital. Bruce Anderson deserves more love. Time to get to know Wes Hills from Slippery Rock. Rodney Anderson has the requisite size and athleticism to be great. Ty Johnson could be the next Damien Williams at the NFL level. Andy Isabella’s footwork is great but larger concerns loom. Olamide Zaccheaus is undersized, but intriguing. Damien Williams is a buy in dynasty, but his market value is about to jump the shark. Recounting a perfect Carson Wentz dynasty take. Sell Rob Gronkowski in dynasty if he has a huge Super Bowl. The infamous non-call on Tommy Lee Lewis is a non-issue. Why Nate wouldn’t pay shipping on Girl Scout cookies. On this week’s episode of Dynasty Life (@DynastyLifePod) we’re talking top 2019 rookies! Yes, it’s still a little early, but for many the fantasy football season has already been decided. Readyforthedraft.com's Gregg Schutze shares his passion for the NFL draft and takes you on a journey leading up to the 2019 NFL Draft. Episode 13 kicks off with Gregg taking a look at Duke's Daniel Jones. Is he a sure-fire 1st Round pick in 2019? Should he come back for his senior season? Another year under head coach David Cutcliffe saw the Manning brothers become a more complete prospect. It may behoove Jones to do the same. Gregg also looks at players flying under the radar. Trayveon Williams and Darrell Henderson are putting up huge stats, but aren't getting the notoriety they deserve, while Ryquell Armstead and Karan Higdon lead the charge for seniors in the backfield. Andy Isabella is a viable possession WR while Preston Williams, Antoine Wesley and Jonathan Duhart can be weapons on the outside. TE Donald Parham of Stetson could be the sleeper of this year's draft while Max Scharping and Andre Dillard are sneaky good OT's up front. Jaylon Ferguson is closing in on Terrell Suggs' sack record while Oshane Ximines is putting up big stats, but isn't a name many are familiar with yet. Gerald Willis has emerged along the interior defensively whle Cortez Broughton has finally put it all together. Daniel Wise and Chris Slayton will be nice interior players, while Kingsley Keke looks more and more like a five-technique in a 34 defense. In the New NFL, a LB has to be able to run. E.J. Ejiya, Ulysees Gilbert III, Chase Hansen, Germaine Pratt and Terrill Hanks fit that mold, while Khalil Hodge and Ben Burr-Kirven are tackling machines inside. Looking for a big CB? You're in luck as Rock Ya-Sin Derrick Baity, Jamal Peters and Justin Layne all have tremendous length and have all proven to have the ball skills needed to succeed at the next level. And at Safety, we know that Deionte Thompson, Johnathan Abram, Taylor Rapp and Chauncey Gardner-Johnson are the top safeties in this year's draft class, but Cedarius Rookard and Darnell Savage, Jr. can make plays too. And if you're looking for FCS prospects, be sure to watch for WR Keelan Doss, RB Ryan Fulse, DE Derick Roberson, DT's Isaiah Mack and Sterling Shippy, LB Sterling Sheffield and CB's Jimmy Moreland and Nasir Adderley.
