By Selva Ozelli Esq, CPA, Author of Sustainably Investing in Digital Assets Globally This is the second article in a series of articles I am writing for Irish Tech News to explore the financial, technical, legal aspects of utilizing space solar energized orbital data centers that are rapidly evolving into "AI Factories, designed specifically to convert massive amounts of electrical power into intelligence, measured in tokens" around the world. The US Space Race My new series is a follow up to an interview ITN conducted with me in 2020 exploring how space solar energy could sustainably energize the tokenization of the global financial markets which is projected to grow to multi-trillion dollars by the end of the decade. The shift toward space-solarized data infrastructure is accelerating in the US rapidly following the historic March 1, 2026, drone strikes on AWS data centers in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain which has extended during April and May. Executed by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), these kinetic strikes marked the first time commercial hyperscale data centers were directly targeted and physically damaged in active warfare. The attacks caused prolonged service disruptions, exposed the vulnerability of terrestrial tech infrastructure, and proved that earth bound data centers are now prioritized military targets. As detailed in the table below US technology and aerospace companies are increasingly looking to space-solarized solutions to address the immense energy and cooling demands of AI, with several key initiatives emerging. Both approaches aim to bypass the escalating energy demands, cooling constraints, and land footprint limitations of Earth-based data center infrastructure. The two approaches differ significantly in how they utilize space and solar resources. Glenn goes through the number of attacks on Christians and Christianity by Islamists over the last few years around the globe. TPUSA CEO Erika Kirk had to cancel an event with Vice President JD Vance due to credible threats against her. Glenn also discusses TPUSA reporter Savanah Hernandez after she was violently assaulted and given a concussion by protesters in Minnesota. Why are we normalizing violence on both sides of the political aisle? The Department of Justice released a massive report that shows how the Biden administration weaponized an abortion access law to go after pro-lifers. Glenn discusses the strange story of the unexplained disappearances of multiple NASA scientists around the same time. Rep. This week, I'm reading Chapter 22 of the Peter David penned movie novelization of the 1991 Rocketeer film.  This part of the film picks up on top of the zeppelin, with a daring autogyro rescue by Peevy and Howard Hughes.   A few other things:  1.) Once Upon a Dream is out!  Listen on most major streaming platforms, though if you have no preference, I suggest Bandcamp, which has a bonus track.  This is the music project I've been working on the past seven years or so, trying to translate the world of The Thirteenth Hour into this second soundtrack to accompany the novel.  Since I made the album over the course of years, I wasn't sure how it would turn out as a whole initially, but in the many hours I spent mixing it, I found it actually does live up to its title. Ethereal, dreamlike, and meditative were words that early listeners used in describing the tracks, and though this wasn't quite my initial intention, I hope listening to this album provides a measure of peace for you.   2.) Modern Dads of Martial Arts, published by Whistlekick, is now out as well.   This is a collection of thirteen essays written by martial artist dads.  I have an essay in it.  I loved reading the whole thing (read it in pre-production).  I honestly think aspects of martial arts can help make us better versions of ourselves, and in the case of us guys, better husbands, fathers, and human beings.   3.) Much of this week has been occupied by wrapping up these Spacecamp figures, being made for a fundraiser for the US Space and Rocket Foundation to make it easier for kids to afford camp tuition.   Thanks for listening!∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞Once Upon a Dream, the second Thirteenth Hour soundtrack, is now out in digital form!   It is out on most major streaming services such as Bandcamp, Spotify, and YouTube Music.  (If you have no preference, I recommend Bandcamp since there is a bonus track there and you will eventually be able to find tapes, CDs, and special editions of the album there as well.)-Check out the pixelart music videos that are out so far from the album:-->Logan's Sunrise Workout: www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7SM1RgsLiM-->Forward: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9VgILr1TDc-->Nightsky Stargazing: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2S0p3jKRTBo-->Aurora's Rainy Day Mix: https://youtu.be/zwqPmypBysk∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞ Signup for the mailing list for a free special edition podcast, a demo copy of The Thirteenth Hour, and access to retro 80s soundtrack!Like what you see or hear? This week, I had the honor of speaking to Scott Holcomb, who was Hideo Takamini in the 1986 film, Spacecamp, one of my favorite films, and one I watched over and over as a kid (not seen it?  I was not able to find it streaming anywhere, but you can find it on Youtube, e.g. here).  I stumbled on Scott's contact info when I was making the first wave of Spacecamp Lego minifigures as a fundraiser for Spacecamp scholarships.  I have since decided to make a second wave (since I gave away and sold all the others I made and wanted to keep at least one!) but this time, added Hideo Takamini as a bonus figure.  More of this project in the next week or so.  That said, I was really stoked to talk to Scott.Aside from geeking out about Spacecamp as a movie, there's something more serious I always really wanted to ask someone about.  Problem was, I never could quite put my finger on how to articulate it as a kid.  But it had to do with something that always kind of bothered me about the film, even in childhood (and I say that as megafan who made my parents borrow the VHS tape from the local grocery store again and again for months until my father finally found me my own copy).  There was this scenario in the beginning of the film where one of the characters, Kevin Donaldson (Tate Donovan) switches ID badges with Hideo Takamini (Scott Holcomb) in order to be on the same team as another camper, Kathryn Fairly (Lea Thompson).  It happens in the blink of an eye, but even as a kid, it made me wonder.  Why did the writers stick in a ruse like that?  Why not just have Kathryn and Kevin be on the same team to begin with?  I guess the point was to set up romantic tension right from the beginning, this being a teen movie and all, but did they really need to do it at someone else's expense?  Why pick on the Asian guy with glasses?  Did we (I say this as an Asian guy who wore very similar aviator glasses to Hideo Takamini's as a kid) really need further reminders we weren't one of the cool kids?  This always kind of bothered me, though it took me until adulthood to finally be able to formulate my thoughts on it articulately, and we dig into it in the episode.   ... more at https://13thhr.wordpress.com/2025/05/19/the-thirteenth-hour-podcast-510-welcome-scott-holcomb-from-spacecamp-1986/... All that said, it was great to be able to talk to Scott about all this.  We managed to squeeze the conversation in his work day (Scott is a science teacher), and I'm glad we did!  Thanks, Scott, for coming on the show and helping young people discover more about themselves and their world through science.  We need it more today than ever!If you are a Spacecamp alum, Scott wanted me to make sure to let folks know about the yearly summer reunion in Huntsville (this year, 7/11-7/12).  I am planning to have my Spacecamp Lego figures done before then, where they will be donated for a silent auction to help raise money for camp scholarships.  You can learn more about the US Space and Rocket Foundation here.  You can make donations to support the camp and its work under the "give" tab on that page. Thanks for listening!∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞ Signup for the mailing list for a free special edition podcast, a demo copy of The Thirteenth Hour, and access to retro 80s soundtrack!Like what you see or hear? As many of you are aware, the real estate development company that I'm a partner in is building several projects. While our investors get regular updates, we know that many of our listeners are also interested in following the story.  Let's start with a bit of background and context. The Norris Ranch is a property of 1783 acres on the Eastern edge of Colorado Springs. The property is sandwiched between Pike's Peak National Cemetery and Schriever Air Force Base. Schriever is US Space command. They are our neighbor.  The idea behind developing this property involves a major expansion of the city. It will contain 4 densities of residential, retail, commercial, office , hotel, police, fire, schools, etc. We started the annexation petition to the city in August of 2022, expecting the zoning and annexation process to take about a year.

The US Commerce Department's Bureau of Economic Analysis recently released its revised US Space Economy Statistics for 2012–2021. The new data builds on previous estimates that were released in January 2022 by incorporating new source data and improved methods. On this edition of The Ex Terra Podcast, Tom Patton talks with Dr. Tina Highfill, an award-winning research economist with the US Commerce Department's Bureau of Economic Analysis. The U.S. space economy statistics are built using BEA's comprehensive supply and use tables (SUTs) and National Income and Product Accounts (NIPAs), which provide insight into the internal workings of the U.S. economy and detail the contribution of specific industries and products to GDP. The SUTs measure the flows of goods and services purchased by each industry, the incomes earned from production in each industry, and the distribution of sales for each product. The NIPA data present the value and composition of U.S. GDP, the types of incomes generated in its production, and its associated employment. The goal of the space economy statistics is to highlight the space-related production and spending that are already present in the SUTs and NIPAs. In practice, these statistics represent a rearrangement of existing data to isolate spending and production for the space economy. COVID had Less of an Impact on the US Space Economy than Other Sectors "Generally speaking, what we found is that the COVID pandemic didn't impact the space economy as much as the overall US economy, but it also didn't see the same rebound," Highfill said. BEA continues to expand and improve upon the space economy estimates with the intention of developing a time series of estimates with full industry detail aligning with BEA's other statistical releases. Additionally, research is underway to estimate space economic activity by categories that are more salient to space community users, such as launch and R&D, to provide an additional layer of understanding about the U.S. space economy.
