A conversation with Kevin Wolz, CEO of Canopy Farm Management and former founder of the Savannah Institute. Canopy provides tree planting and management services to farmers and landowners in the US Midwest. They establish perennial crops, timber plantings, conservation practices, and integrated agroforestry systems.We have been talking about agroforestry systems and investing before (see link at the bottom of this page!): trees were the answer to whatever your question was. But how do you start an agroforestry industry right in the middle of the belly of the beast, the American Midwest, where corn and soy are everywhere, leases are 1 to 3 years, and there are no trees as far as the eye can see? Gretchen Whitmer. Tim Walz. Gavin Newsom. Andrew Cuomo. These governors came to the national attention because of their response to Covid. And their response says everything about their leadership styles. Whitmer and Wolz lockdowns were complete and total.  The state constitutions were suspended. Those who ignored their decrees were arrested. This was all done, we were told, to save lives. What happened was exactly the opposite. The lockdowns were supposed to save the lives of the elderly virus most affected. We knew that then, and we know that now. Children were locked out of school, fell behind academically, and were crushed emotionally.  Businesses were devastated.  All this to protect grandma. And yet in their great wisdom, Wolz and Whitmer ordered that infected elderly people to be herded into the same long-term care buildings as healthy seniors. They cited "data and science" that did not exist. It does now.  A recent study showed that such facilities had 73% percent higher death rate. Minnesota suffered ~ 8,000 nursing home deaths, 52% of the state's total -- the worst in the nation...except Michigan. We don't know the true total here in the Wolverine State because the Whitmer administration never bothered to count, and never bothered to verify. She claims ~ 7,000 such deaths But Michigan has nearly doubled the population of Minnesota. The true deaths are probably nearer to 14000 by my estimate.  Much worse than Cuomo's New York. We need and deserve an investigation, but our attorney general promises we will never get one. Politics played with the lives of people. This election is as much about the past as it is the future. We need leaders who understand their roles in a democratic republic. Kevin Wolz formerly led the Savanna Institute as its Co-Executive Director. In 2022, he joined Canopy Farm Management as its Chief Executive Officer. Canopy is a business launched by the Savanna Institute and Grantham Environmental Trust to expand agroforestry services in the Midwest. While CEO of Canopy, Kevin continues his contributions to Savanna Institute's mission as a lead scientist. Meister Eckhart (1260–1328) war ein mittelalterlicher Dominikanermönch, Theologe und Mystiker. Er gilt als einer der einflussreichsten Denker des deutschen Mittelalters und wird oft als "Vater der deutschen Mystik" bezeichnet. Seine Ideen brachten ihm sowohl Anerkennung als auch Kontroversen innerhalb der Kirche seiner Zeit ein. Heute wird er für seine einzigartige Interpretation der christlichen Mystik und seine Beiträge zur Philosophie sehr geschätzt – zum Beispiel von seinem Namensvetter Dr. Eckard Wolz-Gottwald. Eckard ist Theologe, Philosoph und Yogalehrer und die Lehren Meister Eckharts begleiten ihn seit über 40 Jahren und hatten maßgeblichen Einfluss auf seine spirituelle Entwicklung. Im Gespräch mit Susanne gibt Eckard zunächst einen kurzen Überblick über das Leben von Meister Eckhart und beschreibt, welche wichtigen Stationen seine Entwicklung prägten. His Tik Tok followers are over 670,000 and his likes have reached 13 million. Artimus' hit, Incompedance was his comedic but insightful video pointing out the male tendency of Incompetence in the avoidance and manipulation of feigned incompetence of daily chores and beyond.This is the basis of the discussion between Artimus and Dr. Kate: The phenomenon of Weaponized Incompetence and how good men are at it. Wolz picks up on social ilks and is honest and vulnerable in his videos. Leung is a business columnist for the Boston Globe.
