    "2nd Career" Actor Bracket

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 22, 2025 78:27

This is a bracket episode dedicated to all the celebrities who became famous for something other than acting (basically as a musician or athlete) and then became actors afterwards. Just wanted to start by clearing that up because the title does not really convey it but we didn't know what else to call this bracket. We're talking about people like Lady Gaga, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Eminem, and Cher. Sixteen celebrities like that are going head-to-head as we decide who the best actor among them is. To make things harder, we've decided to avoid celebrities who started out in another career but are now most well-known for acting, such as Will Smith and Mark Wahlberg. And although we do have a couple people on the list who have won acting Oscars, that doesn't necessarily guarantee a win for them in our eyes. And if you disagree, join us on Instagram for the fan vote to make your own voice heard! Then there's the opening segment, Arnold in a Famous Role, where the boys discuss how Arnold Schwarzenegger would do if he played the role that won Jeremy Irons an Academy Award in 1990's "Reversal of Fortune." Which also features Glenn Close as a character who spends almost the whole movie in a coma, yet she somehow still secured first billing on this film's cast. That's a star, right there. Hosted by Sonny de Nocker (@swankysonny) and Tom Price (@thomas_price22).Theme by Josh Britt (jbrittmusic.com)Instagram: AnOscarForArnoldTwitter: @AnOscar4ArnoldTikTok: AnOscarForArnoldContact: AnOscarForArnold@gmail.com

Not to toot our own horn here, but we think that last episode was probably the best banter episode we've ever done. So it's only natural that it would come with an incredible bonus banter episode attached to it. Enjoy the bits that weren't quite good enough for the regular episode, but still deserve some love.First Sonny and Tom discuss the recent success of Arnold's son Patrick Schwarzenegger, who has been making waves with his performance in White Lotus and has the most milquetoast Twitter account of all time. Then they talk about Selena Gomez's fiancé Benny Blanco and the epidemic of subpar men landing successful celebrities. That includes Ariana Grande's partner Ethan Slater, Lana del Ray's partner Louisiana Swamp Man, and hopefully will one day include Billie Eilish's partner Sonny. Then the boys briefly discuss Amazon's recent acquisition of the James Bond franchise, which scares us all. They round it out with a political topic, which we told you was on the way! The boys analyze the post-presidency lives of U.S. presidents, with the recent news that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris signed with CAA. And let's just say your hosts have a bone to pick with many recent presidents and their post-office paydays.Hosted by Sonny de Nocker (@swankysonny) and Tom Price (@thomas_price22).Theme by Josh Britt (jbrittmusic.com)Instagram: AnOscarForArnoldTwitter: @AnOscar4ArnoldTikTok: AnOscarForArnoldContact: AnOscarForArnold@gmail.com

That's right, it's banter time! But first, we should probably address the fact that Sonny and Tom open this episode by bragging about how early in the month they're recording an episode only for it to ultimately be released on the last day of the month. But hey, nobody's perfect. And if it makes you feel any better, this is an excellent episode. Sonny and Tom cover six different topics and honestly there isn't a dry one in the bunch. They came to play when it comes to this banter. So sit back, relax, and ignore the fact that we can't get an episode out before the 25th of any given month. For those of you who want to jump around, the topics discussed in this episode are as follows: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson being cast in the new Martin Scorsese film (8:41), Al Pacino announcing what happens after we die (14:21), Beck Bennett finally getting work (17:09), the spin-off of a spin-off "George and Mandy's First Marriage" (21:31), Jenna Fischer being in love with John Krasinski (28:15), and an update on the Robert Zemeckis movie "Here" which takes place in one location only (34:03). Not to mention a few more topics on their way for the bonus episode! Don't say we never give you anything. There's also an opening segment, lest we forget. Today the boys imagine Arnold Schwarzenegger in Rami Malek's role in "Bohemian Rhapsody" as the legendary Freddie Mercury. Could Arnold successfully play a skinny gay singer with a beautiful voice? No. No he could not. But we have to talk about it anyway. The boys kick off 2025 with a game episode! After the last three game episodes have not exactly gone Sonny's way, he's looking to fight back before he gets lumped into the all-time choke conversations. Meanwhile, Tom is attempting to complete a historic comeback after being down 0-3, solidifying himself as the winner of this (currently) 7-game series. Who will come out on top? Today the boys try to stump each other by making their cohost guess which of two films received more Oscar nominations. Sound easy? The score will tell you that it definitely is not. But follow along at home and maybe you can do better. And a new year doesn't mean getting rid of old traditions, as Sonny and Tom are proud to present another installment of Arnold in a Famous Role. This time they imagine Arnold in the role of the perfectionist jazz teacher in Whiplash that won J.K. Simmons an Academy Award in 2014. Could Arnold pull it off despite his heavy accent? As long as we can retcon the reason he likes jazz in the first place, he might just have a shot. Hosted by Sonny de Nocker (@swankysonny) and Tom Price (@thomas_price22).Theme by Josh Britt (jbrittmusic.com)Instagram: AnOscarForArnoldTwitter: @AnOscar4ArnoldTikTok: AnOscarForArnoldContact: AnOscarForArnold@gmail.com

It's time for a special Christmas episode of An Oscar For Arnold! This one is sort of a two-parter, with the boys starting off by discussing "Jingle All the Way," the 1996 Arnold Schwarzenegger Christmas movie that sees him playing a workaholic father desperate to make his son happy by buying the most popular toy in the country on the day before Christmas while his horny neighbor tries to bang his wife. After giving you a thorough analysis of that film, including its commentary on consumerism, Sonny and Tom break into a special bit of Christmas banter! Among the topics discussed is the quality of Christmas movies these days, the Grinch's race, the bones of St. Nicolas being found in Turkey, and why Turkey insists on being called Türkiye. And if you can't stand to suffer through our "Jingle All the Way" analysis, the banter starts about 30 minutes in. Consider that my Christmas gift to you.But still the fellas find time for an opening segment, imagining Arnold in Jack Albertson's role in "The Subject Was Roses" (1968). The boys discover how deeply depressing that film is as it follows Martin Sheen witnessing the dissolution of his parents marriage after returning from World War II. You asked, and we answered! Well, maybe nobody really asked. But the boys are here to bring you another original Indiana Jones movie crafted right in front of your ears in a supersized episode. And today they have a special guest! Sonny and Tom's dear friend Ryan Town joins the podcast to contribute to the new Indy movie after years of begging to be on this podcast. This particular Indiana Jones movie takes place in the 60s, where Indiana Jones owes a debt to the United States government after failing to stop the Cuban Missile Crisis and potentially causing the Korean War. To pay his debt, he teams up with a Russian spy to help harness the power of an old Nazi project. The project in question? The immortal power of the legendary Nosferatu. Will Indy survive his encounter with the ancient beast? And who exactly is the mysterious girl he's working with? And what would the winter version of an Indy outfit look like? These questions and more will be answered by your three hosts. After they argue about it for a while, that is.Sonny, Tom, and Ryan also participate in the classic opening segment Arnold in a Famous Role. Today sees them imagine a world in which Mr. Schwarzenegger took on the Oscar-winning role of Ray Charles in 2004's "Ray." Originally played by Jamie Foxx, it'll probably be tricky for an Austrian bodybuilder to bring the same nuance to a part that specifically centers on the character's race and their ability to sing. For instance, what would it look like if "The Sopranos" merged with "George Lopez"? Or what if "Frasier" was combined with "The Wire"? These important questions will be answered today. Will this work better than the movie mash-up? Hard to say for sure, but we'll let you be the judge.Sonny and Tom also find themselves with a very interesting opening segment. On a special episode of An Oscar For Arnold, Sonny and Tom sit down with Jemima McEvoy, a wealth reporter at Forbes, for the podcast's first ever interview. Jemima recently published an article titled "How Arnold Schwarzenegger Became a Billionaire," and the boys were lucky enough to have her join the podcast to discuss Arnold, his wealth, and her career covering wealthy people. The topics of conversation include Arnold's successful investments, his not-so-successful investments, his personality, his divorce, and the time Mark Cuban almost drove Jemima to the airport. If you're curious as to how Arnold Schwarzenegger acquired his ten-figure fortune, you've come to the right place. And if you're just here for the jokes and people shooting the shit, you're still in the right place. Even with a guest, there's still time for everyone's favorite opening segment, Arnold in a Famous Role. Today, Jemima joins the boys as they discuss whether Arnold could win an Oscar if he played Joseph Schildkraut's role in "The Life of Emile Zola," a 1937 role that tackled a story about antisemitism without ever mentioning antisemitism. How did they do it? Not very well, it seems. But Arnold would be taking over a role played by a fellow Austrian actor, so his shot here might not be too bad. Unfortunately the character is French, but we're just gonna ignore that part. You can follow Jemima McEvoy on Twitter @jemimamcevoy.Click HERE to read her article "How Arnold Schwarzenegger Became a Billionaire".Hosted by Sonny de Nocker (@swankysonny) and Tom Price (@thomas_price22).Theme by Josh Britt (jbrittmusic.com)Instagram: AnOscarForArnoldTwitter: @AnOscar4ArnoldTikTok: AnOscarForArnoldContact: AnOscarForArnold@gmail.com

After just doing an episode about the Oscars, the boys decided to keep things exciting and do another one immediately after. But the Oscars are half the podcast's title, so we think our hosts deserve a pass for this one. Today they take a look at some films which have recently won Best Picture at the Academy Awards or Worst Picture at the Golden Raspberry Awards, trying their best to recast the movies and flip the outcome of the awards. In other words, can Sonny and Tom take a Best Picture film and make it bad by changing the cast? And can they take a Worst Picture film and make it good the same way? The short answer is no, as the cast can only affect a film so much if you can't change everything else. So the boys quickly decide that they actually are allowed to change everything else, basically reshaping the movies entirely and rendering the episode's title inaccurate. And that should give you an idea of how much they planned for this one.Of course, Sonny and Tom begin with a round of Arnold in a Famous Role, which takes them to Cliff Robertson's 1968 win as Charly in the film "Charly," which was based on the story "Flowers For Algernon." The boys discuss if Arnold Schwarzenegger would do well in this role as an intellectually disabled person, a kind of role which pretty much died off about 20 years ago. They also take a moment to acknowledge Cliff Robertson's late-career turn as Uncle Ben in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies. In the process, they come to the realization that Uncle Ben only works if the character is old, as a youthful and spry Uncle Ben would detract from Peter Parker's nerdy ways. That's the kind of discourse you come here for.Hosted by Sonny de Nocker (@swankysonny) and Tom Price (@thomas_price22).Theme by Josh Britt (jbrittmusic.com)Instagram: AnOscarForArnoldTwitter: @AnOscar4ArnoldTikTok: AnOscarForArnoldContact: AnOscarForArnold@gmail.com

The fellas just barely got this episode out at the end of March, keeping their promise of one episode a month this year alive. And ironically, they're doing an episode about something that happened several weeks ago. Sonny and Tom do a deep dive into the weirdest moments of the most recent Academy Awards, which saw Oppenheimer sweep, Killers of the Flower Moon get shut out, and Emma Stone enter a new conversation as one of the GOATs of her time. Not to mention Oscar award presentations by Al Pacino and our good old pal Arnold Schwarzenegger. Then the boys try out two mini brackets of 8 entries, one with the last 8 Best Actor Oscar winners and one with the last 8 Best Actress Oscar winners. The brackets ask the boys to ponder who would win in a fight between the two characters that the actors were playing. Some of the matchups are a bit obvious, such as J. Robert Oppenheimer facing off against the most morbidly obese man to ever grace the screen. But other matchups really make you think, like Will Smith's Richard Williams facing off against Casey Affleck's incredibly depressed day laborer in "Manchester by the Sea." Intrigued yet? Yeah, we wouldn't be either. But it's a fun time. And of course, the opening segment is not to be forgotten. Your hosts discuss if Arnold Schwarzenegger would win an Oscar playing George C. Scott's titular role in "Patton," a role for which Scott refused to accept the Academy Award because he rejected award ceremonies as a concept. So the boys spend most of the time roasting George C. Scott for that pointless protest before actually imagining Arnold in the role. So if you thought that last week's episode was just a bit too good, enjoy the parts that we decided were somehow worse than the garbage we talked about last time.Included in this unwanted gift of an episode is a conversation about the hit piece against Martin Short, which critiqued a good man for no real reason. The hosts then proceed to do that themselves by taking a look at the post-SNL career of Beck Bennett, who they compare to Joey Fatone for some reason. Trust us, it comes from a place of love. They would be remiss if they didn't bring up the new Arnold Netflix documentary, simply called "Arnold," and then brag about how they knew everything in it already because they're such big Arnold Schwarzenegger fans. Then the hosts decide that the superior Property Brother has been determined, since one of them has now married Zooey Deschanel. But there's also a clear worst Property Brother, their older brother JD who may or may not be a plumber. The boys chat about the Leonard Bernstein documentary and Bradley Cooper's comically large and possibly offensive nose before chastising Penn Badgley for not wanting to do sex scenes out of respect for his wife. Then they talk about Burning Man and the recent chaos going on within it, which Tom would like to be a part of. And finally, they bring up the recent allegations of a toxic work environment at the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, which is probably due to the fact that Jimmy is just too fun of a guy to be a good coworker. CGI Character Bracket

After the apparent popularity of the last bracket episode (who would've guessed?), Sonny and Tom decided to do another one instead of thinking of something original. Today, the boys decide to hash out a bracket of the 16 best CGI characters in live action movies to determine which character reigns supreme. Will it be Gollum from The Lord of the Rings, Caesar from The Planet of the Apes, or another character played by Andy Serkis? The possibilities are endless. The boys also give their classic opening segment a go as they ponder how Arnold Schwarzenegger would do if he took on the Oscar-winning role of Christian Bale's character in "The Fighter," a film by David O. Russell that is significantly less whimsical than his later work. But that doesn't mean Arnold couldn't win an Academy Award for the role! Actually it does, but this one was doomed from the start.Play along with the bracket's fan vote by going to our Instagram and viewing the stories, where we'll see just how different this podcast's fans are from its hosts.Hosted by Sonny de Nocker (@swankysonny) and Tom Price (@thomas_price22).Theme by Josh Britt (jbrittmusic.com)Instagram: AnOscarForArnoldTwitter: @AnOscar4ArnoldTikTok: AnOscarForArnoldContact: AnOscarForArnold@gmail.com

Indiana Jones and the Crystal Flute

After everyone seemed to enjoy last year's episode "Indiana Jones and the Hurricane of Katrina," Sonny and Tom decided to continue their hobby of outlining modern-day Indiana Jones movies. And what excellent timing, with the new "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" coming out in just a couple weeks. And with how tepid the reviews for that currently seem, Sonny and Tom are arrogant enough to believe they've cooked up a better film after an hour of shooting the shit. For Indiana Jones and the Crystal Flute, the boys revisit a story from last year, when singer Lizzo played President James Madison's crystal flute. When she did that last September, Sonny and Tom discussed how cursed the flute seemed and imagined a scenario in which she was sucked into the flute for eternity. Today, they take that joke one step further, structuring the plot of an Indiana Jones movie in which our old hero Indy must go on a quest to save Lizzo from the cursed crystal flute. It's a film full of action and adventure as Indy teams up with Lizzo's manager Susan and goes on a journey through Europe, North Africa, and Oklahoma to uncover the secrets possessed by the mythical flute. And if that description somehow isn't enough to tickle your fancy, the boys also do their classic opening segment, Arnold in a famous role. Today, they uncover a 1961 courtroom drama called "Judgment at Nuremberg," which sees Arnold taking over the Oscar-winning role of Hans Rolfe, a defense attorney for the Nazis on trial. Originally played by Austrian actor Maximillian Schell, the role instantly gets the attention of Sonny and Tom for how incredibly perfect it seems for Arnold. Might we have a new contender for the coveted award "Arnold's Best Shot"? Only way to find out is to stop reading this description and listen to the episode.Hosted by Sonny de Nocker (@swankysonny) and Tom Price (@thomas_price22).Theme by Josh Britt (jbrittmusic.com)Instagram: AnOscarForArnoldTwitter: @AnOscar4ArnoldTikTok: AnOscarForArnoldContact: AnOscarForArnold@gmail.com

After the boys delivered such hits as "Which Celebrity Is Taller?," "Which Celebrity is Older?," and "Which Movie Made More Money?" they decided to bring you an even more arbitrary guessing game with "Which Movie has a Higher Rotten Tomatoes Score?"With Sonny having won all three of the previous game episodes, Tom is entering today's game with a vengeance never before seen in this podcast. Sonny, on the other hand, is kind of hoping Tom will win one so people don't start to think he's cheating. But that doesn't mean he'll be pulling any punches as the boys dole out ten rounds of putting two movies head-to-head and seeing if the other host can guess which one has a higher critics score on Rotten Tomatoes. Will Sonny finally have to say "We'll be back" in an Austrian accent at the end of the episode? Or will Tom furiously storm off the podcast after losing four times in a row? As always, play along at home and see how you do. Or don't, we'd never know anyways. There is, of course, the opening segment to handle first. And this one is a particularly remarkable, as Sonny and Tom discover the incredible and deeply sad story of Harold Russell, the war-veteran-turned-actor who won an Oscar for his role in "The Best Years of Our Lives" and then won a second Oscar for the same role! The boys discuss Russell's impressive and poignant life story and dedicate the episode to him before  rudely discussing if the guy who was in "Kindergarten Cop" could also win an Oscar if he played an amputee war veteran in the same role. It's a wonder we don't have a 5-star rating on Spotify yet.Hosted by Sonny de Nocker (@swankysonny) and Tom Price (@thomas_price22).Theme by Josh Britt (jbrittmusic.com)Instagram: AnOscarForArnoldTwitter: @AnOscar4ArnoldTikTok: AnOscarForArnoldContact: AnOscarForArnold@gmail.com

That's right, the episode that nobody requested is finally here! To celebrate International Women's Day, your two favorite male podcast hosts decided to do an episode that's for the girlies. Long overdue, right? Now, you may be wondering how a podcast about Austrian bodybuilder, actor, and governor Arnold Schwarzenegger could possibly do an episode dedicated to women. Trust us, we struggled with that question too. But we finally found a theme that we think satisfies both our desire to honor women and our deep love of Arnie. In this episode, the boys sit down to recast Arnold's most iconic roles with female actors in his place. They look at famous Arnold films such as True Lies, Total Recall, and Jingle All the Way and discuss which famous actress would do the best job filling Arnold's large shoes. Could Angelina Jolie play the Terminator? Could Nicole Kidman play off Danny DeVito in Twins? Could Margo Martindale kill the Predator? These are the important questions that are answered on An Oscar For Arnold's International Women's Day Special. Our opening segment has also been mixed up for International Women's Day, as Arnold in a Famous Role now looks specifically at roles that won Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress. Which means the boys imagine Arnold replacing Renee Zellweger in 2019's "Judy," where he would be taking on the role of the legendary Judy Garland. Could he do it with poise and nuance? It doesn't matter, because he wouldn't win an Oscar for that due to the sheer audacity of the concept. They look at another performance too, but I won't even bother writing about it in this description because it just ain't gonna pull any viewers and I already forgot what the movie was called.Hosted by Sonny de Nocker (@swankysonny) and Tom Price (@thomas_price22).Theme by Josh Britt (jbrittmusic.com)Instagram: AnOscarForArnoldTwitter: @AnOscar4ArnoldTikTok: AnOscarForArnoldContact: AnOscarForArnold@gmail.com

Pull up a chair and join your old pals Sonny and Tom to hear them shoot the shit about vaguely film-related things. If you're still not enticed, here's a little rundown of the topics they cover. First, the boys discuss the fan results of the previous episode's Nepotism Babies Bracket. The fans on Instagram (@AnOscarForArnold) voted in their own version of the bracket with a couple very shocking upsets. The boys then discuss the favorite Tom Hanks movies of Tom Hanks, who provided a list of three movies that he had the most fun making. They then move on to discussing video game adaptations, including HBO's "The Last of Us," what a Red Dead Redemption 2 series would look like, and how to make the best Pac-Man movie possible. After this, Sonny tells Tom about the wonders of AnnaSophia Robb's Instagram account and they hearken back to a time when Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson had hair. Finally, your trusty hosts discuss some of the ads that have been on TV lately, particularly Paul Giamatti's Verizon ad and Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul reuniting to play their Breaking Bad characters one last time in an attempt to sell PopCorners. And don't forget about the opening segment, in which Sonny and Tom discuss how Arnold Schwarzenegger would do if he took over Kevin Kline's role in 1988's "A Fish Called Wanda." Could Arnold play a mean-spirited Anglophobe? Not to spoil anything, but there may be a new contender for the award of Arnold's Best Shot, something the boys just created today. Hosted by Sonny de Nocker (@swankysonny) and Tom Price (@thomas_price22).Theme by Josh Britt (jbrittmusic.com)Instagram: AnOscarForArnoldTwitter: @AnOscar4ArnoldTikTok: AnOscarForArnoldContact: AnOscarForArnold@gmail.com

    Guessing How Movies End

Folks, we want to go ahead and take a moment to apologize for this one. We're not gonna lie to you, this seemed like a great idea going in. The concept was that we would read the synopsis and the beginning of the plot description for a few movies and try our best to guess how they might end. What resulted was one of the most dull and disjointed episodes we've ever made. And for that, we're truly sorry. We started with "Terminator: Dark Fate," which honestly went okay all things considered, even if it took a little too long. Then we moved on to "Sonic the Hedgehog 2," which is where the whole thing really collapsed. We got maybe half a decent joke out of our riffing and then Sonny disassociated hard while Tom did his best to make the five remaining paragraphs about the plot somewhat interesting. At this point, we realized the episode was a lost cause and spent a good few minutes trashing it before straining out some half-assed discussion about "Jack and Jill" and calling it a day. There's an opening segment, yes, and it's fine. Maybe a C+/B- as far as opening segments go. The boys discuss how Arnold Schwarzenegger would do if he had to play Michael Caine's role in "Hannah and Her Sisters." But we know you're not here to listen to that. And really, we wouldn't blame you if you didn't listen to this episode at all. The only thing we can do is promise to be better in the future. Like the previous game episodes, things get heated between our two hosts. But who can blame them with so much on the line? The loser, as usual, must say "We'll be back" at the end of the episode in a thick Austrian accent. Sonny is the reigning champion going into the episode, but Tom is eager to overthrow him. We wish there was an obvious answer to the question, and in fact there is, but the hosts still have an obligation to give Arnold an honest shot by discussing the idea. They also study New Orleans, Hurricane Katrina, and notable events of the early 2000s to give an authentic period-accurate experience to our titular hero. Together, the boys put together an Indiana Jones movie that is decidedly better than the fourth one, although that's not saying much. Someone get George Lucas and Steven Spielberg on the phone, because we've got the next adventure for ol' Indy to grumble his way through. The boys go through the plot of their selected films and critique them as thoroughly as possible, pondering how these movies got made and why they were both shockingly financial successes. You'll have to listen to the episode to find out which films they selected, but here are some hints: one of them features legendary actor Morgan Freeman (whose merit is foolishly questioned by Sonny and Tom) and the other one features Javier Bardem pronouncing a name so horribly that you can't even understand what he's saying (much like Tom's entire audio in this episode, as his microphone situation has yet to improve after two months).Fans of Arnold Schwarzenegger will be delighted to hear that he still gets some attention, as the boys imagine what it would be like if Arnie took Daniel Day Lewis's role in Steven Spielberg's 2012 film "Lincoln". Because it wouldn't be An Oscar For Arnold without constant reminders of the one moment Arnold would surely love to forget.Hosted by Sonny de Nocker (@swankysonny) and Tom Price (@thomas_price22). Contact: AnOscarForArnold@gmail.com

    Our Top 3 Arnold Movies

After an indefensible three month hiatus, Sonny and Tom reunite to discuss their top three Arnold Schwarzenegger movies. They present their lists, which unsurprisingly overlap a lot since the two co-hosts are very similar people. They discuss what they like about each film and how great Arnold is in them. But don't worry, they still find time to bring up Arnold's affair and mention how much of an asshole he was for much of his life. To top it all off, Sonny finally gets a good microphone while Thomas actually downgrades to a worse microphone to make sure that one of them is always hard to understand. Listen to this episode of An Oscar For Arnold to find out which films make their lists. Will your favorite Schwarzenegger films be included? Perhaps an entry or two from the Terminator franchise? Or maybe another of the many action franchises he's been involved in? And hey, if you're lucky, you might even see Jingle All the Way make an unexpected appearance! You won't, but it's nice to imagine. Speaking of which, the boys also imagine what it would be like if Arnold Schwarzenegger played George Burns' role in the classic film The Sunshine Boys (1975), which everyone has definitely heard of.Hosted by Sonny de Nocker (@swankysonny) and Tom Price (@thomas_price22).Contact: AnOscarForArnold@gmail.com

    A Razzie for Arnold

Arnold Schwarzenegger has been nominated for a Golden Raspberry Award for his part in an obscure Chinese-Russian fantasy epic called Iron Mask (or The Iron Mask, or Viy 2: Journey to China, or Journey to China: Mystery of Iron Mask, or The Dragon Seal, or The Mystery of Dragon Seal), a film that made little money and was almost definitely a tax evasion scheme. Lucky for you, Sonny and Tom watched the film so you don't have to! The boys have an in-depth discussion about the plot of this very confusing movie, which also features performances by Jackie Chan (who Arnold fights in the movie), Charles Dance, Jason Flemyng, and the late Rutger Hauer (who will unfortunately forever have this film as one of his final roles). All of these actors came together to make a movie in which a dragon's eyelashes make healing tea and a CGI flying monkey saves the day. Iron Mask is truly a film you have to see to believe, but in this case you only have to hear it. The boys also imagine what it would be like if Arnold played Colin Firth's role in The King's Speech, featuring a horrible Arnold impression by Sonny. Does Arnold Schwarzenegger deserve the Worst Supporting Actor Razzie nomination for his performance as the pugilistic Warden Hook? Does legendary tsar Peter the Great escape prison, remove his iron mask, and return to his spot on the throne? Is the two-faced witch defeated by the princess she tried to impersonate? All these questions and more will be answered on An Oscar For Arnold Episode 3: A Razzie for Arnold. Hosted by Sonny de Nocker (@swankysonny) and Tom Price (@thomas_price22).Contact: AnOscarForArnold@gmail.com
