In todays episode, This dynamic conversation revolves around the idea that embracing discomfort and taking decisive actions are integral to becoming the most successful version of oneself. A key catalyst for personal development and this is episode we talk about these things: Environment Relationships Beliefs Investing in Yourself Well-being By embracing new opportunities and experiences, individuals open doors to a realm of possibilities. Importantly, saying yes doesn't entail accepting everything; it involves discernment, learning to say no to incongruent elements, and making choices aligned with personal values and objectives. Anticipation for the untapped potential of 2024 is palpable, with a call to finish the current year on a strong note to set a positive trajectory for the future. Success, the argument goes, is subjective, with unique meanings for different individuals. However, irrespective of definitions, there are uncomfortable yet necessary actions one must undertake to achieve success. Welcome to the Say Yes Anyway Podcast, where authenticity meets transformation. The episode acknowledges that the journey towards better days may be messy, given human imperfections. Our guest, Moriah shares some of her most traumatic events in her life from losing loved ones, to gun violence, to health problems. And the journey of overcoming them as well as going through them. Self-understanding and acceptance, along with recognizing and respecting the experiences and sensitivities of others, play a pivotal role in transforming negative patterns into positive ones. Overall, the podcast suggests that while negative feelings may feel overwhelming and everlasting, good days can endure, urging the significance of self-acceptance, understanding, and openness to change for this transformation to unfold. Lastly, this Say Yes Anyway Podcast episode explores the non-linear nature of healing and personal growth. Moriah emphasizes that there's no straightforward path to improving mental health or healing the body, highlighting the importance of choosing what is best for oneself and listening to inner voices. Living a fulfilling life and becoming one's true self, the episode suggests, requires embracing the uncertainty and unpredictability of the journey. Breaking free from habitual roles and exploring unconventional ways of showing up for oneself and others, with a touch of playfulness, is advocated for personal growth and expansion. Because of my last Say Yes Anyway Episode conversation with Jake, his vulnerable sharing opened me up to my most vulnerable share i've ever done in my life. Only handfulls of people know about this. So it was scary as I shared! I almost deleted this part because I thought one day maybe I'd write a book about it and share it when it was planned out.God always has other plans. I am sharing this because I really do believe that it can help many people, and usually the things we don't want to share at all are what people need to hear the most.Fear of judgement, what people think and being fully known were the main fears I was struggling with before sharing this. Thank you in advance for listening. And if it impacts you in any way, please reach out to me, share this episode, leave a review and I pray it helps you on your journey no matter what you are going through! This vulnerable story talks about me remembering feeling so numb. Numb to my body. Numb to my emotions. My brain was still really foggy and in a daze. I had been roofied - drugged. I only had one drink and I don't remember anything. I hurt so bad in my body, and the little flashback memory then sunk in and I realized I had been raped. At that point I had kissed many men, yet THIS was the way I lost my virginity. I felt Terrified. Dirty. Shameful. Since then, 13 years ago, I have found healing and I am grateful to now be able to share this so others can also know they're not alone and continue their healing journey and use their pain for purpose!
Welcome to the Say Yes Anyway Podcast, where we dive deep into personal and spiritual development, guiding you on a journey towards living your most purposeful life. Today I have a conversation with Jake Kauffman, a friend to many, an International Transformation Coach & Spiritual Mentor to purpose driven, visionary men & entrepreneurs who are seeking to grow in their life and leadership. Why do we sometimes find ourselves stuck in patterns that don't serve us? It's because we've unwittingly crafted false personas over time. Breaking free from these masks takes willpower, and sometimes, our existing mental resources just don't cut it. We have to reach a point where the pain of remaining the same outweighs the pain of change. It's a transformative process, but it's worth every step. Jake and I talk about his new book, Let Love In, where he shares his most vulnerable story and how he's been able to heal and transform through it! It's powerful! It was also through his sharing his own story on the podcast that even though I was sweaty & shaking, I shared my most vulnerable part of my story with him and it's now here for the very first time for you all to hear. I've only shared with 1-1's and small groups of people or coaching clients to empathize. So listen as this is a raw episode and shows the power of when you show up in vulnerability, you never know how it will give someone else the courage to share theirs as well. Thank you Jake! Investing in personal development & healing during these challenging times for Jake was a game-changer. It's like building a safety net for your nervous system and the rest of our life. Have you ever struggled with Imposter Syndrome? Yea, so have I. So I decided to do a BONUS Podcast Episode about it. I've received some messages about imposter syndrome as well as many people navigating it whether it be people in our Mastermind program, my 1-1 coaching clients, or people that have been emailing me or letting me know they struggle with it. Since I know what it's like, and I know it can cause doubt, paralysis, fear and so much more, I don't want anyone to feel stuck because of it! In this episode I go into my own story of how i've navigated it through all the different transitions in my life from non-profit co- founder, to being a coach, to writing a book, starting a podcast, and co-running 2 social impact companies, Wholeness Journey & Whole Purpose. I continue to navigate through it and I want to share what has helped me with 4 keys on how to continue through impostor syndrome. 1. Show up exactly as you 2. All you need is to be one step ahead of those you are serving 3. It's not about how, it's about who 4. Just do it When you listen to this episode screenshot it and tag @jessdahl_ and I will share it! WOW! You don't want to miss this conversation with 2 of my favorite people in the world..my own dad and one of my brothers! My dad, Craig, is my hero and is the biggest adventurer I know who has faced tremendous hardship, has sailed & flown planes around the world, started businesses and non profits, is a scientist & nature guy, child at heart, and creates media to share stories & experiences. My brother, Vernie is one of my best friends. He is one of the most generous people I know, has started so many businesses, a child at heart as well, an incredible leader and mentor, traveler, and we can talk about anything under the sun. We have a real, raw, honest conversation from the heart about the reality of where your childhood takes you into your current reality. We share from my dads generation on how they were used to parenting, and to us 20-30 year olds and how it's affected us today. We share stories and perspectives on comparison, generosity, success, failure, adventure, and more. And it all relates back to living a life of purpose stemming from the gifts you were born and created with as a child. It's a powerful and really good one.
