Hi my loves
DescriptionAs you listen to this episode, I think it will be abundantly clear that you're witnessing me in real time have something of an “aha” moment. I went in thinking one way: that to teach and preach about same sex attraction to all God's people, including those who experience it, it was really about a technique or a method or a kind of a tweak in style of communication. And that's not at all where we ended up, by the end of the episode, even though I kept yanking the conversation in that direction. The secret is embedded in the title, but I want you to go on this journey yourself too. A huge thanks to my guest, Kim Zember, who preached to me all throughout the episode. I think I finally got it at the end. You'll have to stick around and find out. Kim Zember speaks internationally about the love and freedom she has found from leaving a homosexual lifestyle. She loves people and strives to be totally transparent, to help others know they're safe to do the same. When Kim is not at home in Dallas, Texas, she's most likely found in her base for her ministry in Ethiopia, surrounded by 400 plus children.Check out Kim's website here: www.boldlybeloved.com LinksFor more information about the Better Preach Podcast visit: www.ryanohara.org/betterpreachBetter Preach Podcast is now on YouTube. This program is a discussion of eternal generation and procession as giving and receiving love between Father, Son, and Spirit. It is the third in a series on Ernst Sartorius's book The Doctrine of Divine Love.
If you scratch the surface of compulsive sexual behavior, you'll find intimacy avoidance. In this powerful episode, Susskind and Merlino look through the lens of attachment as they discuss the challenges and opportunities related to truly receiving love in recovery. With a focus on avoidant and anxious attachment styles they discuss the often-misunderstood term love addiction as well as the possibility of utilizing obsessive thinking to reveal deeper parts of self. By establishing emotionally reliable relationships and receiving love, the ruptures of the past will heal over time. Music credit: Neil Freebern Freebernmusic.com
I tried so hard to push him away. I even said, “Just separate from me already.” And instead of granting my half-hearted request, he did the complete opposite. He doubled down with love. What a f*cking jerk.

They highlight how deeply socialized masculine norms restrict male emotional development beginning in boyhood, leading boys and men to have difficulties giving and receiving love in every relationship of their lives. They also discuss Jesus Christ as a model of healthy masculinity and femininity, advocating for a shift away from rigid gender roles as a path towards emotional and spiritual maturity for both women and men.Breaking Down Patriarchy Podcast- Amy McPhie Allebest- "How to be an Anti-PatriarchistDisentangling from Emotionally Immature People- Lindsey C. JOIN THE BJDW COMMUNITY HERE In this episode, we are honored and humbled to present our conversation with psychiatrist, speaker and author Dr. Curt Thompson. Known around BJDW as, “the teacher Meade is most-likely to reference on the podcast for the depth and breadth of the impact his work has had on her life,” Curt, connects our intrinsic desire to be known with the need to tell truer stories about ourselves — showing us how to form deep relationships, discover meaning and live integrated creative lives. Join us for a profound exploration of the intersection between neuroscience and the biblical narrative as we delve into the human experience of suffering and the formation of durable hope. Our discussion begins with a reflection on the importance of naming and understanding suffering. We delve into the complexities of the human experience, acknowledging the difficulties of receiving love and mercy amidst pain. Curt emphasizes the transformative power of community in navigating suffering, highlighting the need to bring our whole selves into relationships for healing and growth. Curt sheds light on the limitations of control and the unpredictability of influence in relationships, offering insights into the connection between anxiety and the fear of isolation. He invites us into the significance of being present in the body, providing practical strategies for shifting from a mind-centered approach to an embodied experience, thus fostering deeper connections and resilience. Our conversation continues into the role of anger in the healing process, emphasizing the importance of expressing and releasing this emotion constructively. Finally, Curt delves into the concept of forming durable hope through suffering, illuminating how our experiences shape our anticipation of the future and our capacity to embrace life's challenges with resilience and faith. Through a rich tapestry of neuroscience and biblical wisdom, our chat with Curt offers profound insights into the human condition, inviting listeners to embrace vulnerability, cultivate resilience, and discover enduring hope amidst life's trials. Welcome to the "Say Yes Anyway Podcast," where courage meets resilience. In this deeply personal and special episode, I open up about a life-altering event that occurred nearly two months ago – a car accident caused by a drunk driver. This incident has profoundly impacted my life, and I've been navigating the complex journey of healing, both physically and emotionally. I discuss the importance of listening to those who have endured trials because their experiences forge resilience and character. & share the details of the accident that happened in December 2023 and how it has reshaped my existence. Throughout the episode, I share ten key insights and lessons that I've learned during my recovery: Life Can Change in an Instant: I recount the harrowing details of the accident and the immediate aftermath, emphasizing the preciousness of life. Resilience and Recovery Take Time: I talk about the physical and cognitive challenges I've faced post-accident and the gradual process of healing. Kindness and Grace Are Essential: I've learned to be kinder to myself, especially when facing anger and frustration over my current limitations. Grieving the Old Self: I discuss the difficulty of accepting the changes in my capabilities and the process of grieving who I was before the accident. Celebrating Small Wins: I highlight the importance of gratitude and celebrating progress, no matter how small. Receiving Love and Support: I express my vulnerability in asking for and receiving help, and the importance of community during tough times. Sharing Vulnerably: I emphasize the power of sharing one's story authentically and the growth that comes from vulnerability. A New Book of Life: I talk about the excitement and potential of starting anew, creating a different path forward after the accident. Drawing Strength from Past Experiences: I reflect on past hardships I've overcome and how they serve as a reminder of my resilience. Embracing the Role of Teacher: I accept that my experiences shape me into someone who can teach and support others through their struggles. I encourage you all to reflect on your own lives, to find strength in their challenges, and to reach out for support when needed. This episode is not just my story; it's a call to recognize our collective human experience, to support one another, and to grow from the adversities we face. Creating Space for Abundance: Practical Steps to Make Room for Receiving Welcome to a journey of transformation where we clear the path to welcome abundance into our lives. Making room for receiving is about opening up spaces – both physically and emotionally – to allow blessings to flow in. Here are actionable steps to help you create that space: 1. Declutter Your Physical Space Action: Dedicate time each week to declutter your home and workspace. Removing physical clutter makes room for new energy and possibilities. 2. Release Outdated Beliefs Action: Identify and write down limiting beliefs that hold you back. Challenge and replace them with empowering affirmations. 3. Cultivate an Abundance Mindset Action: Shift your focus to abundance. Each morning, affirm the abundance in your life with statements like, “I am open and ready to receive.” 4. Refresh Your Relationships Action: Evaluate your relationships. Invest in those that uplift you and consider distancing from those that drain your energy. 5. Practice Gratitude to Attract More Action: Maintain a daily gratitude practice. Acknowledging what you have makes room for more to come. 6. Open Yourself to Financial Prosperity Action: Organize your finances. Clearing out old debts and managing your budget creates a healthier space for financial growth. 7. Embrace Receiving Compliments and Help Action: Actively practice accepting compliments with a simple ‘thank you' and be open to receiving help from others. 8. Nurture Your Emotional Well-being Action: Engage in activities that promote emotional healing, such as therapy, journaling, or mindfulness practices. 9. Prioritize Your Joy and Pleasure Action: Make time for activities that bring you joy. Prioritizing your happiness creates positive energy that attracts more joy. 10. Connect with Community for Support Action: Join groups or communities (like our 'Manifest Your Magic Moon Circle') that align with your goals, providing a supportive space for growth. By taking these steps, you are actively creating the necessary room in your life to welcome and receive abundance in its many forms. It's about setting the stage for the DIVINE to deliver its gifts to you, unimpeded.

Today we talk about our expectations for receiving love and the ways we can look at receiving love differently. We often have expectations on what it should look and feel like to receive love, where it should come from, and when it should happen. When we do this we can stop ourselves from experiencing the full spectrum of love and the ways it can find us.

Overview Jill Monaco, who has found true freedom in Jesus, discusses discovering our identity in Christ. Being free isn't just about being free from addiction, abuse, or anxiety but about who we were created to be. It's about finding our true identity in Christ and taking control of our fear with a focus on the finished work of Christ. Monaco emphasizes that the mind of Christ sees us as a finished work and who we were supposed to be. I am so excited to share the latest episode of our show with you. In this episode, we had the pleasure of speaking with Jill Monaco, a life coach and author passionate about helping people discover who God made them to be. Here are three takeaways from our conversation: Life coaching is so much more than just setting goals. Jill explained that coaching is about listening to what the client wants to get out of the session and helping them hear God to figure out the answers to their questions. It's about unveiling the lies they believe and discovering the areas of their life they're passionate about. Cultivating a relationship with God is key to being able to give His love away to others. Jill emphasized the importance of being in His presence and receiving everything He has for us so we can give it to others. We can only give away what we have, so it's essential to continually receive from Him. Jill's book, "The Freedom Coach Model," can help readers encounter the presence of God and find freedom in Jesus. If you're looking for a resource to help you discover who God made you to be, this book is a great place to start. Timestamp Points to Listen for: [00:01:26] Finding true identity in Christ. [00:04:12] Finding freedom from sin. [00:07:55] Lies we believe. [00:11:42] Playful relationship with God. [00:14:42] Life coaching explained. [00:18:20] Reporting abuse was difficult. [00:21:58] Trauma stored in the body. [00:25:13] Forgiveness and Receiving Love. [00:29:00] Love is the key. [00:32:48] Knowing God and finding peace. This conversation is inspiring as well as thought-provoking. I highly recommend giving this episode a listen. Thank you for tuning in and supporting our show as you grow your relationship with Jesus. I am wildly cheering you on,
Chuck talkes about one week ago his eye was under the knife/laser and how he is now more active each day...Todays "Course In Miracles" is that prayer is the medium of miracles. Prayer is a means of communication of the created with the Creator. Through prayer love is received, and through miracles love is expressed. Prayer can help re-fill you if you feel empty and dont feel like you have any love to give.
Here's to this special milestone but this one is also to celebrate all of your milestones and achievements. Always remember to "Celebrating Milestones." Are you holding yourself back from receiving the love you want and being your badass self? Or does your need for control and “giving to get” keep you stuck in the same paradigm? Let's be clear: a badass is not someone who struts around, pretending they don't need anyone. That's a victim wearing a suit of emotional armor. A badass when it comes to love is open-hearted, trusting, courageous and vulnerable. A badass takes care of their own emotional wellbeing, and when they're in a situation where someone doesn't respect them or their boundaries… a badass removes themself from that situation. A badass is the REAL you. So how do you stop people pleasing and playing the role of the “good” partner in order to be comfortable as your badass self so you can receive love freely? First, look at what you say you want, and how your actions work against it. If you're not sure what you want, tune in to today's episode for a writing exercise that will help you identify your disconnects and help you uncover the motivation behind your actions. Receiving love requires clarity, honesty and openness. There is no magical genie who can grant you “badass” status. The only power capable of doing that is you.
We've been talking a lot about vulnerability lately...but what happens if you avoid that kind of intimacy with your partner? For those who lean avoidant in their dating life, it's usually because you're trying to protect yourself. But when you hide behind walls to try and make yourself look better, you cut off the beating heart of connection and love: emotional vulnerability. When you refuse to let someone see the softer parts of you, the messier parts, the "What if they can't handle this?" parts...it doesn't make you safer. It actually closes you off from receiving love, and closes your partner off from trusting you with their more intimate parts, too! But how do you solve this as an avoidant or anxious-avoidant dater? If you have no idea where to begin, don't worry—I'm here today to help you get started.
