Entrepreneurism, start-ups, leadership development, coaching and business. The Dash is a show about the meaning, substance, impact, power, soul & culture of your business and your life.   You can have a relatively successful business selling widgets to the world. But at the end of each day...or on the day you retire, you may very well look back on the lifetime you spent selling widgets to every man, woman and child on the planet and realize that your life's work had no real substance, impact or meaning.   When you look at your dateline:  In business from 1969 - present 1969 I sold my first widget. Today is today.  The dash (-) is everything in between.  It's the people who's lives I touched and changed for the better.  The human connections I've made.  The hungry mouths I've fed.  The ...(fill in the dash) Ask yourself - What was MY Dash?   •From beginning to end, what did it all mean?   •Who/what did I impact?   •What was/is the purpose of any of it? •I spent (or will spend) 10, 30, 50 years doing it... •So what is/was it all for?  What does it mean and too whom? Come join us in discovering the power in each of our purposes.  The responsibility we have as business owners and entrepreneurs to making a difference and let's get injecting some real meaning into your dash.

I'm an educator/trainer/coach at heart.  I started a career out of college in the field of human services and worked there for 6 years.  I learned a lot and even moved up to the position of Director in my last human services company but eventually learned that I was not ready for a long term career in that field.  So, I moved in the field of teaching (strange story: my parents saw a video that I had done in my senior of college and felt that I would make a great teacher but they didn't tell me this until about 8 years later.  They felt that if they had told me, I would have just done the opposite anyway.  Was I THAT rebellious?).  I taught middle school English for about 5 months and then got a full time position as a high school science teacher.  I did that for 7 years.  I was nominated for the Who's Who Among American Teachers by some students but I'm pretty sure that award was received by most of the teachers in the school since you have to PAY to be included.  Maybe I should have paid. While I was teaching, I started a web promotions company, Kay3Music.com, and a web design company, Kay 3 D-Zynes.  I was great at interviewing and getting into places.  I stunk at marketing so ultimately, the promotions company didn't make much money.  I was great at learning new code and new designs but was just really learning about managing projects and people.  Oh, by the way, I stunk at marketing too, so while we had some great clients, the web design firm didn't earn enough to continue growth. I was an online college faculty for two years but eventually got into instructional design and elearning development.  I started RKCS Learning Solutions in 2009.  I'm still not great at marketing but I'm learning that I don't have to do it myself.  There are actually people that get paid for this.

Pioneering jazz-rock drummer and composer Danny Seraphine is a founding member of Chicago. Worldwide the iconic group has sold over 122 million albums, and, just domestically, earned 22 gold, 18 platinum, and 8 multi-platinum albums. In 1990, after 23 years in the group, Seraphine and Chicago had a jarring parting of ways, and he left music behind for 15 years. But a call to play a benefit show for a fellow drummer pulled him out of seclusion and sparked a creative rebirth.   Today, Seraphine looks forward with Sacred Ground (Street Sense), the sophomore record from his jazz-rock powerhouse group CTA—often described as “Chicago on steroids”—and he makes peace with his past with the refreshingly candid memoir Street Player: My Chicago Story (Wiley).   Seraphine is critically acclaimed as an instrumentalist and a composer. Rolling Stone Magazine recently ranked him as one of the top 100 drummers of all time. When he was coming up on the music scene, legendary jazz drummer Buddy Rich called Seraphine his favorite young drummer. Recently he was awarded Cape Breton Drum Festival's prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, an honor he also received from the Montreal Drum Festival. He's an endorsee of esteemed drum companies such as DW drums, Remo drumheads, Zildjian cymbals and drumsticks. He also has released a well-regarded instruction DVD titled The Art of Jazz Rock Drumming, distributed through Drum Channel. As a songwriter, Seraphine co-wrote the Chicago Top 40 hits “Lowdown” and “No Tell Lover,” as well as core Chicago tunes like “Little One,” “Take Me Back to Chicago,” “Show Me the Way,” “Birthday Boy,” and the irresistibly funky “Street Player,” later sampled by rapper Pitbull for the hit “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho).”

Kim has always felt like she was designed specifically to help people in a personal way. When she was exploring various coaching systems, she sensed several flaws that repeatedly showed up in the coaching ideology. Kim noticed that many coaches would focus solely on goal-setting, and then hold clients accountable for their actions that were necessary to meet their goals. “By and large, people know what to do in order to reach their goals, they just aren't taking action. The question is why?” Kim explains. Kim realized that the one and only thing stopping each and every client from meeting their goals was their thought patterns. Every client wanted to meet their goals, but something – a very big, persistent something – was preventing their success.   Kim's discovery sparked her desire to start a coaching company that focussed solely on thought management. She knew that if she helped people remove the thoughts and beliefs that prevented their success, achieving their goals would be no sweat. Kim found that journaling was the quickest and most efficient way to access a client's thought patterns and belief system. She began coaching using the tool of journaling, and found that she could help propel substantive and lasting changes in client's lives and careers.

Hello dear visitor and welcome to my home on the internet.  When I started this site late last year, it was a project of soul searching.  I was a successful entrepreneur who had an IT consulting company.  I was living the “American Dream” with a large house, new cars, a beautiful family and yet there was something missing.  And it was strange because as an immigrant coming to US at the age of 14 I seemingly had accomplished everything my parents hoped I would.  However, I didn't feel fulfilled. Thus I decided to take a giant leap of faith and seek out my essence.  I took all the things I loved doing but was always too busy or too mature to do and did them.  I took acting and Improv classes, got my spirituality certifications, took martial arts, started writing books, eventually even got on radio and played a role in a film.  It took about 6 months to shuffle through everything until I clarified and understood my purpose in life and what I was here to do. I figured out that I am here to Inspire others to Re-calibrate their lives, find their soul purpose and transition to living it.  This site is now here to show you how I am living mine and to help you with yours.  www.allenvaysberg.com www.recalibrateyourlife.com http://www.amazon.com/Inspirer-Allen-Vaysberg/dp/1452571244/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1369073421&sr=1-1&keywords=inspirer

We have been surrounded by music from a very young age. Our dad and his brothers are all very musical. During family parties throughout our childhood, our uncles would jam in the basement. We loved it when they played together and would join in. This is where we first got a taste of performing. When Matt was in Kindergarten and Andrew was in pre-school their mom enrolled them in piano lessons. In third grade, Andrew started playing the alto saxophone in the concert band and took private guitar lessons. In high school Andrew played the tenor saxophone in the symphonic band, guitar in the pit orchestra, and guitar for the chorus as an accompanist. In high school Matt played guitar and bass with Andrew in their high school's talent shows and in local bars. During that time, Matt and Andrew joined their father and their uncle in a Beatles tribute band, playing in local bars across long island. Andrew was George and Matt was John. Soon we started writing songs. We loved playing Beatles music but wanted to play our own music. Once we started writing songs in high school we started to take our music career very seriously. In college, Matt took voice lessons, guitar lessons, bass lessons, joined a singing ensemble, and of course kept writing songs. In college Andrew is doing the same. We would like to do this as a career because this is our passion. We love writing and playing music. In January 2012 “The Speed of Sound EP” was released. In March 2013, “Still Waters” EP was released.

When his father first saw him in the hospital nursery in the baby box marked MELIS, being the product of inbreeding, he was expecting a cute Greek baby boy with a big nose and at least one extra limb. His father was shocked to find a cute black baby boy with a different big body part that looked like an extra limb. His father, angry that the baby didn't look anything like him, yelled at his wife for obviously having an affair, and threatened to divorce her. Then when his wife convinced him that she had been faithful, he yelled at her mother, for getting around too much and being unfaithful. He concluded that one of her indiscretions must have lay dormant for a generation and popped out with Jim. The drama ensued until a few hours later when a white baby boy with a big nose, big head, hairy back and one eyebrow was found behind the box marked MELIS and they lived happily every after. Jim is aware of his character defects which led him to the next step… blaming his parents. Jim honors all his personality flaws, for without them he would have no personality at all. He has realized that all of him is beautiful….even the ugly, stupid, and disgusting parts. His father once told him that his great intuition makes up for his lack of good judgement.   I can also hook you up with a short, fat, guy with a hair back.

First let me set the stage so you will be able to understand the depth of the pit I climbed out of. In the late 1990's my wife Coleen and I lived in the Phoenix metro area. My consulting business was doing well and the future looked bright. I was working on a “Roll-Up” in the staffing industry and had put together a management team with many years of accomplishments between them. I was having great success in combining a significant group of independent staffing companies to purchase for the “Roll-First let me set the stage so you will be able to understand the depth of the pit I climbed out of.    I took what I knew, how to sharpen professional hair styling scissors and built myself a ladder from there to climb out of my pit of despair and hopelessness. First was the invention of a better sharpening system, one that would not ruin the scissors. Second, I developed a proprietary brand of high end styling shears. Third, I developed a business plan for a recession proof business sharpening and selling shears to hair stylists. My program met the needs of the stylist by providing a sharpening service that was better than anything else on the market and a top quality shear they could purchase at a reasonable price. Later we added an interest free payment option to make it even better.   The point of this story isn't YEA ME! No, rather I want to show that in my case when my back was literally against the wall, what appeared to be the end of everything I knew was actually a gift from God. This gift enabled me to use what I knew to help many others recover from BTSD – Boomer Traumatic Stress Disorder, the hopelessness many boomers feel as they face today's economic challenges. Don't become one of the over 50 unemployed people living the new American nightmare.
