INSTAGRAM RECOMMENDATIONS There are five things right now that you can do to level up your Instagram and be an engagement-worthy account for your ideal customers. Key points covered in this episode: ✔️ First, don't violate IG's guidelines because that won't get you anywhere. Trust me on that. ✔️ Post original content. Are you fun and witty? Show it. Are you professional and passionate about what you do? Show it. If you have something you want to try, do it. You won't know unless you try it and see how it turns out. ✔️ Post Reels. Images do not work right now, as reels are being promoted repeatedly. Currently, that is all that is being recommended. Double down on the creation of your Reels. ✔️ Are you grasping what to write and say in your videos and photos for Instagram?
Why Avoid Engagement Groups While we all want greater attention on our social media platforms, joining "pods" for mutual engagement with other members' posts can be very tempting. This system can do you and your business good — until it DOESN'T. ✖️✖️✖️ Key points covered in this episode: ✔️Avoid creating and joining engagement groups. Social media marketers need engagement and can surely use the help of others. Hence the advent of engagement groups. I've seen many colleagues do this on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, supporting each other, commenting on 20-30x posts, and even more. You may think this is a great idea, but if it's just your friends, colleagues, or supporters commenting, this can actually hurt you over time. ✔️ Get your ideal people and potential customers to see your posts. Platforms have gotten more intelligent regarding inauthentic engagement among users. First, you'll see a spike in the group of people helping support your post and think it's working. Over time, getting engagement from these business owners conditions the algorithm to serve your content to them rather than your ideal audience. Accounts that use these systemic engagement methods, repeatedly commenting and liking similar posts, can get disabled or shut down. Spammy practices aren't the way to go. Do you want to risk this for your business? So remember, be original, creative, and consistent; this will help over time versus "faking it until you make it." —————————————————— At Broadcast Your Authority, we provide a seamless, high-quality, and efficient process to help create and post repurposed assets to your Podcast Platform, and YouTube, and build omnipresence across all social media networks. They say photos are dead, and Reels are the only thing that gets seen. Putting more content out as short, entertaining videos on Instagram has become more competitive. Seeing a few views after posting, it can get tempting to delete it— but I tell you, DON'T! Key points covered in this episode: ✔️Don't ever delete your REEL! Don't ever delete your Reel unless the text is unreadable or your audio is unlistenable. This is a piece of essential and sound advice for anyone trying to build an IG following. You don't want to start deleting stats or engagement reach just because a video is underperforming. Show Instagram that you're consistent with your posts and fight the urge to send them to the trash. ✔️ Even one viewer is one accomplishment you've helped somebody in the world. Your content is meant to help others. Even if you've only had one viewer to start, that is already an accomplishment of the work that you've set out to do. Don't get down on yourself when you don't see results right away. Start to build results with that one person, and you're definitely going to get more over time. —————————————————— At Broadcast Your Authority, we provide a seamless, high-quality, and efficient process to help create and post repurposed assets to your Podcast Platform, and YouTube, and build omnipresence across all social media networks. In 2022, interactive content will be the biggest thing. Our audience craves human connection now more than ever. We must take this at the forefront in strategizing how we bring our brands closer to those we need to serve by maximizing the trends and creating an interactive experience via social media. Key points covered in this episode: ✔️ Engage with POLLS. People like to click on the YES and NO options. What's unique about it now is you can create those polls and put different words in there that get them thinking or reacting to a particular question. Whether it's with your LinkedIn, Facebook or Instagram, get your polls in there so that you get people's attention instead of having them just skip through your Stories. ✔️ Engage with clickable CTAs. You don't just need a smart call to action to let your audience learn more about your content. Instead, use an actual link to guide them back to that YouTube video or podcast from your social media platforms. So what's unique about the clickable links now in those platforms is that you can edit the captions on the link itself. Change the verbiage there, so they know exactly why they need to go where you're sending them. ✔️ Engage with Q&As. Q&A has been around for years, and they're not going anywhere because people always have questions and love getting answers. As the expert and authority in your niche, why not do it more often? Do away with the traditional styles of reaching out because interactive content requiring input from people keeps them excited, curious and even intrigued. ✔️ Engage with QUIZZES. This is a great way to gain interactive activity and grasp data-driven ideas and content directly from people. You can send quizzes out in email campaigns or link these in your Stories and actual posts where they can click the link to fill out the survey or quiz—if you couple this with giveaways and incentives, you will see a higher percentage of engagement and interaction. ———————————————————— Want to Launch Your Podcast in 30 Days or Less? Besting Podcast Hosting Platforms If you think you're already missing out on starting your own podcast, the good news is the industry is just getting started! Don't let 2022 pass you by without launching your show, building your audience and effectively monetizing your unique skill sets. Do what the pros do and maximize the benefit of using your blog's features with a reliable podcast hosting plugin to grow your reach. In this episode of Video Marketing for Business, let's talk about the Best Podcast Hosting Platforms and how you can get started. ▶️ Key points covered in this episode: ✔️ Libsyn is running with the competition in the space and up levelling the game. I highly recommend Libsyn as the best podcasting hosting platform for those specifically looking to host their own RSS feeds. We've been using Libsyn for most of our clients — they are experts in their fields who are starting their shows from scratch. We host multiple podcasts for them every month, and it's been a great resource and tool for us. ✔️ There are exciting developments with the new Libsyn 5 that will benefit wherever you are in your podcasting journey! From publishing, tracking your stats and customizing colors for your podcast player are just a few of the new features of the Libsyn interface. ✔️ Branding is key, so you want to stay on-brand with your podcast too. The new Libsyn features more customization for you and your podcasts. You can configure a better-looking podcast player with smart color matching, helping you stay on-brand. ✔️ Podcast host Megaphone allows you to log in and host multiple accounts in one spot and keep those consistent stats as well. One of our clients we work with hosts multiple series and podcasts, and we create podcast series for him every quarter. He does 12 video series and has launched over 40 plus podcasts. He uses Megaphone as the best choice. ✔️ Blubrry hosting with PowerPress is the publishing plug-in you go in with WordPress. That might not necessarily be the approach you go with if you don't want to push it out as a blog, but if that interests you, you can look into Blubrry. ✔️ Podbean is another user-friendly platform that you can also utilize to create your personal RSS feed. It's a good option that's very similar to Libsyn, but now that they just launched Libsyn 5, you have all of those other additional cool things to work with. ————————————————————————— Want to Launch Your Podcast in 30 Days or Less? When was the last time you listened to a podcast or watched a YouTube video? What parts of that particular show inspired or moved you? Or did you find yourself skipping through the whole thing because it was tedious or too long? When it comes to creating your own, learn how to start and improve your audience retention and watch time and ensure that you put out content that is valuable as it is entertaining. Key points covered in this episode: ✔️ You have a great guest coming in to talk about a relevant topic, and you've already informed them that the episode will be a maximum of 30 minutes. The conversation gets deep, and suddenly, it's already an hour! Shows are supposed to be fun, inspiring, and valuable, but creators often forget to watch that length of time. ✔️ How long should your videos be in 2022? There are certainly a lot of factors for you to discover the right answer for yourself and your channel that will depend on your content and your audience. Maybe you are into creating educational podcasts or quick tips placed on YouTube that can be repurposed into an audio podcast — a show that is five to 10 minutes long would be a great length. ✔️As creators and hosts, it is our job to get interviews and stories with many golden nuggets within the show. But really, it can't be inspiring and effective if you don't strategize how to deliver the topics, create a structure and watch the length of time. ✔️Consider the length of your conversational and interview podcasts. I always recommend 20 to 30 minutes max on the interview to our clients. Have a structure and have the host talk to the guest about three things within that topic. In that way, you keep it focused and direct to the point. ✔️ If you are repurposing a podcast onto YouTube, I do not suggest going over 30 minutes, especially for those conversational and interview podcasts. Unless you have a huge following, more people are prone to watch that and binge listen to your podcast even at a longer length. Want to Launch Your Podcast in 30 Days or Less? Have you considered starting a podcast, but maybe you doubt yourself, your wheels are spinning, and you're not sure where to start? One of the biggest things I discovered in working with entrepreneurs and building a media agency is that the most outstanding people often hinder themselves from delivering their message to the world. You know you have the authority and expertise in your field. And when you're super passionate about something, why not share it because there are more opportunities to be found? Key points covered in this episode: ✔️ People hold back from getting themselves out there because "it's too technical." Do you believe you still can't launch your show because you're not tech-savvy enough? Let me tell you right away: that's OK. There are different programs and apps to help you, and we can walk you through that, too, because once you get that camera or podcasting confidence, you can really step into it. And once you record that first video, it's so much easier. ✔️People feel they need extra equipment, software or tools. Should I use Zoom? Should I use Riverside? Do I use a Logitech webcam? Do I use a Canon vlogging camera? Do I use a DSLR? Do I need a professional mic? There's so much vast information across the internet that tells you to have MORE than what you actually need and prevents you from getting started. People like myself are there to help people like you figure out those tools to get that set up, so you feel comfortable before you push the record button. ✔️ People fear not knowing how to distribute their podcasts. So many hosting providers can do that for you. The cool thing about the platform we use is the opportunity to utilize multiple podcasts back in the back end without logging into multiple accounts. Having a team or outsourcing it to the experts to help you relieve so much stress in the long run. ✔️ People don't know what to talk about. You might already have a great name idea and want to cater to an audience, but now what? What are your content ideas? Specifying down on your niche and what you're truly passionate about and focusing on content that's being more searched than the content that's being less searched will guide you to go out there confidently. ✔️ People feeling the imposter syndrome. If you feel not good enough, don't speak well enough or look good enough on camera -- we all go through it. You will overcome, and when you release that first episode and get support behind it, whether it's one or one million downloads, you know you're truly reaching somebody. And that's where you have to start. You have to start with inspiring people, stepping out of your comfort zone, and getting a little out of that imposter syndrome. Remember, the more you share from the heart and impart your passion, purpose, and expertise, the more people will flock to you and your channel. ————————————————————————— Loved this episode? How Do You Make Money With NFTs? Are you a course creator, content creator, entrepreneur, or business leader? It's the best time to rethink how you can start making money with NFTs! Think about that digital asset that you can have, create an offer to your community and provide value to something interesting. Key points covered in this episode: ✔️ 1# Think about bundling an NFT with an existing offer. If you have a course, training and events online or in-person -- you can add value with NFTs for your audience. You can give back, get people excited about what they can collect to use to turn in to come to something else, like an event, like a digital token, a digital live event ticket. ✔️ 2# Think of different ways to repurpose your content. Start with a post, an image or a video you created, and make that into an NFT. You can sell it even if its a content from 2015 because you wouldn't know if somebody may be a fan and could see value in owning that digital asset. If it's a video, a JPEG, a media clip, GIF or whatever that looks like, you can turn around and convert that into an NFT. ✔️ 3# Think of how to create value for your audience. Take a cue from what serial entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk (aka GaryVee) has accomplished with his first NFT collection called VeeFriends. See how that took off, where those NFTs are going, and where the price points are currently sitting. Reward your community; that's what Gary is doing with his current book launch. NFTs for content creators The future is getting here fast, and as creative entrepreneurs, we constantly have to think uniquely, innovatively, and consciously step outside that box. There is no better time than now to start getting your foot inside the door and experience the newer way of doing business with buying and selling non-fungible tokens using cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. Let's talk NFTs for Content Creators! Key points covered in this video: ✔️ There's no saying that getting started with #NFTs will make you a success overnight -- but as an artist, designer, photographer, filmmaker, or a creator in general, it pays to look into the opportunity that's making all the buzz in the metaverse! ✔️ In September, we witnessed how Rebecca Minkoff, in partnership with Yahoo, broke new ground in the New York Fashion Week and became the first female American designer to create NFTs for her collection. ✔️ If you're a photographer or know you can take good pictures, why not collaborate with a product line or others influencers? Think differently and strategize how you can create an entire collection of NFTs. ✔️ Take, for example, the graphic designer Mike Winkelmann -- better known as Beeple -- who sold an NFT for a record-breaking $69.3 million. He inspires more artists to take their pieces from the traditional sense to make it to the digital space. ✔️ Get to know the features of OpenSea and how this user-friendly platform will help you create and sell your NFT collection.
Are you still not utilizing Facebook Live yet for your business? How about repurposing videos into bite-sized appealing content? Or maximizing FB Groups to sell successfully? We got you covered as we talk all about Facebook Marketing Strategy with expert Sherri-Lee Woycik. Key points covered in this episode: ✔️ Facebook is the big daddy of social media platforms. It's a tremendous opportunity to promote your business virtually free and not have to pay for anything if you don't want to. The key is to get visible on that platform that marks 3.5 billion active users. ✔️ Facebook Live helps with visibility the most, especially with an infamous algorithm. Facebook loves video, and the Live feature is number 1. Sherri-Lee teaches a whole strategy around getting traction for your video and getting a lot of engagement, likes, comments and shares. ✔️ As long as you've got the strategy, you can execute FB Ads with ten dollars a day. "I say to people now; I prefer a minimum of about a thousand dollars a month. It just gives you enough wiggle room to do enough testing. Things are changing every day, but especially this year, Facebook ads have been changing a ton." ✔️ Your Facebook Page is at the top of your funnel. "That's the place Facebook created for you where you can reach an unlimited number of people on Facebook. From your Page through your FB Live, you can use those to segment people, get some onto your email list, get some people on to discovery calls, and grow your FB Group." ✔️ FB GROUPS is a great place to build your rapport with people, position yourself as the expert & share nuggets of your expertise. "Facebook's just been releasing some cool tools that help you invite people directly from your page into your group so that your groups can grow quicker with really targeted people". We all want to create incredible videos that educate, entertain, and inspire. However, we do not want to waste effort and energy if our content isn't getting SEEN by the people we are supposed to serve and whose problems we can provide a solution for. In this episode, learn these valuable tips on how to get more YouTube views and subscribers effectively. Key points covered in this episode: ✔️ Get clear: What is your purpose? What is the problem you solve? Who are you creating content for, and why? Once you have clarity, it's a lot easier to go into the next steps. ✔️ Research is key to identifying what people are searching for to get more eyeballs on your content, but it is more important to figure out: What topics and themes make you happy and excited about sharing with others too? ✔️ Address your audience by knowing precisely what they are talking about! Look at the keywords people are searching in your niche and target that by coming up with a fresh video. ✔️ Be able to define the right keywords that people are searching for. One of the tools that my team uses in our system is Keywords Everywhere. It's cool because it's sharing with us with the monthly search bases on Google and YouTube. And so those phrases start to populate down when you put that in the YouTube search bar. We also see what people are paying the cost per click for ads related to these topics. Do your homework and test that out. ✔️ If you become the master of your niche and understand YouTube SEO, it will be easier for your videos to be found. Your biggest opportunity is when you get that smaller pool of people searching for your content and will help you rank ahead of the competition. ✔️ If you don't want to do it yourself, it's time to delegate! We use tools like VidIQ and TubeBuddy, which our team uses for a complete done for you service to help you grow your YouTube channel. Do you find yourself scrolling through your social channels, and video is all over? Well, there is a reason for it, the platforms favor video at this point. Vamp up your visibility and more engagement by exploring the use of short videos on Instagram. Don't miss the opportunity to attract a new audience for yourself and your business! Here are the key ideas I cover in this week's Video Marketing For Business Podcast: ✔️ With Instagram, their addition of stories, Reels, and IGTV, I share with you how the company is leaning more towards video. ✔️ If you haven't yet, it's time to maximize Instagram Reels to create quick, under 30-seconds videos for engaging content that your audience would love to see. Multi-clip videos that are authentic and interesting will keep your followers hooked onto your page for more. ✔️Try the 4:5 aspect ratio because it's going to show up longer in the feed. ✔️ How often do you post IG Reels? Posting one at least a week is advisable, but it's now suggested to post at least three reels per week to up the game! ✔️ Utilize IGTV; those can be anywhere from one minute to up to an entire hour of content for that long-form content you want to be repurposed on IG. How do you stand out in the sea of influencers and content creators and get the publicity you need? In this episode, I speak with the go-to expert for PR and media, Christina Daves. She unloads tried and tested tips to get people to pay attention to you and your business. Here are the key ideas we covered in this episode: ✔️ Christina has put together the three C's to remember to ensure you stand out online: Content, Connection, and Credibility. ✔️ When planning for content, identify what people are ACTUALLY searching for online versus what you BELIEVE people are searching for online. ✔️ Your audience and potential clients will follow you if you allow your expertise and personality to come through in your content — being authentically you will make you shine ten times more! ✔️ If you feel stuck, Christina suggests thinking about who you speak to and the questions people ask you — that's your content right there. Write that article or turn on that camera, and talk about what you're good at. ✔️ Media begets the media. When you start getting mileage, especially with television, do your homework. Spend an hour watching the show, get a feel for it. It pays to be prepared as you build your credibility. ✔️ You don't want to go after Gary Vaynerchuk or Simon Sinek. You're never going to get to them, but if you find micro-influencers and have X amount more followers than you do, create content by tagging them. If they're in alignment with what you do, they might share your content too. Provide value, value, and value. That's how you grow your influence. The best way is NOT to show off the product explicitly but to show the benefits. ✔️ Lean into the trends that Caleb sees happening to go viral for repurposing content from YouTube and podcasts. ✔️ Being consistent in putting out your content allows you to optimize and figure out what the people are searching for versus what you think people are searching for. In the past 40 years, he has been helping the most prolific achievers of our time from various disciplines tap into their highest potential by changing their habits, strengthening their minds, and giving them the tools to achieve excellence. Here are the key ideas we covered in this episode: ✔️ Playing at the top is a learned behavior. Jeff emphasizes that becoming and living as a champion is not an accident; instead requires deliberate, purposeful, daily actions. ✔️ Learn why Jeff says that video is undoubtedly the medium of the present and the future. ✔️ High performers who are afraid of the camera should get better at it through the process of actually doing it. Jeff built his online presence in 2020 by doing a Facebook Live even if he didn't feel like it and just showed up, and I just did it every single day. "I found that I was good at it, and I liked it. But I had to get beyond the embarrassment of doing it, beyond the 'I'm not sure if I can do this.' The usual questions we ask ourselves in advance when we're afraid of doing something scary and new. And now I can show up and do them without any hesitation. I made peace with the camera." ✔️ Champions utilize video to do some "dress rehearsals" so that you can understand and see yourself as you really are. You may presume yourself to be some way, but if you don't show up and you're not really who you think you are in terms of your presentation, it's probably a good idea if you can improve what you do by actually watching yourself do it. Dr. Jeff Spencer is "The Cornerman Titans Turn To." He has worked with our generation's movers and shakers in the past four decades, from Richard Branson, Tiger Woods, Lance Armstrong, U2, Dave Asprey, and many more. Clubhouse Clubs | Randi Zuckerberg If you're on Clubhouse, I'm sure you've heard of the Club feature recently just opened up to everyone! People are definitely buzzing about the new aspect of starting a club in this fast-growing audio chat app. In this episode, learn how to leverage clubs in Clubhouse and know when to start one if you are looking for business success and building your personal brand. Or think about if YOU should really start a Club, is it for you? Key takeaways: ✅ Understand that if you're going to start a club, you need to make sure that it's vibrant and bustling. If you went to an actual conference and all of the rooms were empty, except for one room, that's probably NOT a conference you would want to go to, right? ✅ How much time do you want to commit to this app? Are you consistent? If you don't have the time, the energy, or the bandwidth to do that, don't start a club, and leverage other communities that resonate. ✅ Think about the audience you're serving and the overall mission in impacting and inspiring other people with your content. Joining other people's clubs allows you to help share-worthy causes and create an experience for other people too. ✅ It takes a lot of work to build a community from scratch. It might be worth it for some businesses to do that. Still, for most of us, you're much better off leveraging someone else's community by joining other people's clubs. It is just like being a keynote speaker, it is much easier to go speak at someone else's event than put on your own, there is so much time, thought, money, and effort that goes into hosting your own event. I know this very well, especially after hosting seven big events now! About Randi: Randi likes to call herself "a professional mom to entrepreneurs." She believes in the importance of nurturing startups and entrepreneurs. As a woman in business, she believes that we need more female and diverse founders to shift the world. How to Grow your Influence with Media Is it your goal to see more supporters and positive engagements but don't understand precisely how to do it? Then, you have to grow and boost your influence with the help of the media. What this implies for your company or business is a validated reputation as an authority in your niche. However, it's worth noting that social influence is established over time and takes constant focus and engagement with your audiences. But the journey is worth it when you start building valuable connections with potential clients. In this video of Video Marketing for Business, I've invited Esther Kiss, the PR and media go-to. She'll share how you can use media to maximize your reach and build your influence as an authority in your niche. Key takeaways covered in the episode: Recognize that credibility is a significant aspect of what video and media can do to help position you as your niche's authority. Understand that a two-pronged approach of having credibility with the big brand media and doing online media is where most people see the best results. Presentability is the key. It's a rule of thumb to be always presentable. Be continuously reminded to offer a golden nugget. Allow your audience to learn something new from you because that's how trust is built and how they start buying from you. Implement your strategies based on the principle that messaging is a vital part of monetization, and consistency and exposure create that omnipresence. When you know your audience and your message, you can then use retargeting strategies to promote your interviews — it can be very powerful.
On the Video Marketing for Business podcast, I teach the essence of video marketing and the opportunity it presents to connect with your audience more effectively and globally. In this week's episode, my good friend Cassandra Bankson joins us for some value-packed sharing on how at the age of 25, she achieved her huge success on Youtube. Cassandra's journey started from insecurity growing up. She was a model but had severe cystic acne covering 90 percent of her face, chest, and back. Struggling with the condition and being retouched in a magazine and being put on billboards or advertisements made her feel bad knowing that young girls look up to her, thinking that she was pretty. Getting on video and showing her face sans makeup was a liberation and a breakthrough that catapulted her to Youtube success. Her tagline, "Helping others live beautifully inside and out," is true to the content she puts out by featuring science-based skincare, cruelty-free makeup, and healthy living content. Authenticity is not something commonplace in digital marketing. Being able to succeed in the online space as a model with acne has taught her that sharing her struggles & successes while following her dream helps others achieve theirs! Stay tuned for the full story! Here are the key areas we covered in this episode: ☑️ Hear the inside scoop on Cassandra's regrets and secrets of what she could have done differently before hitting 1 million-plus subs on Youtube and two million on social media. Best tips you need to hear to grow your channel! ☑️ Do you have doubts with Imposter Syndrome as you establish your authority online? Know practical steps and the mindset you need to be successful and learn how to handle naysayers and keyboard warriors. ☑️ The analytics is as important as it can be overwhelming. If you're not a numbers person, if you're creative, that is OK. Find someone who can do the job for you and delegate. Work to your strengths and go get your channel up and running! Listen to how Cassandra learned this valuable lesson years later. ☑️ When do you decide to stop doing everything yourself and start getting help? If you're starting, if you have less than ten followers across all social media, you're going to have to do it yourself to start. But the second you get one hundred followers, you need to start thinking, what am I not doing well enough? Where can I delegate? Once you hit that first thousand followers, start pushing them onto other platforms and start delegating out. ☑️ Monetization strategies so you can attract your people to you and earn money while you sleep. YouTube is a marathon, not a sprint. Pick yourself up and start running! Do you remember when Facebook bought Instagram back in 2012? Here's another revelation for you . . . Facebook has launched its latest video conferencing feature, Messenger Rooms, which allows up to 50 people to video chat. They are ready to compete with services like Zoom, Skype, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams, as more people turn to video chat during coronavirus lockdown. Basically, it's almost like going into a zoom meeting where you can do it strictly from your app. When you grab your smartphone, you can easily open the messenger app, tap the people tab at the bottom right of the screen, and tap Create a Room. Once you do that, you're going to see different options, and once you're done creating an activity, you'll see who's invited. Did you know that you can pre-schedule it so that people are notified of it beforehand? This is an incredible option for many people who are at home right now. I was on a live stream yesterday on a virtual event with some great influencers like Mike Dillard, a famous marketer in the space. And somebody had asked, "Could you actually record these?" And by doing the research and testing it out, it looks like that you can click the start broadcast option. Once you've done that broadcast, it gives you the option to record so you can download after the broadcast has ended. Once you start broadcasting, you can also remove and prevent any notifications coming in to disturb you while you're online in this room. What's cool is it populates a link that you can share out. Let's say you forgot to invite some people, and you have this link that pops up. You could copy and paste the meeting link and then put it in messenger if you'd like to, which means you can always add someone even during the actual session if you forgot to send them an invitation or remember them on the spot as you are speaking. In this episode, you'll learn: How to utilize Facebook's Messenger Rooms whether it's for personal or business use Watch the full version on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/SeriousTakePro/videos or listen wherever you get podcasts! How Healthcare Professionals Are Using Video for Awareness In this week's episode, Tamara Thompson talks about how healthcare professionals are using video for awareness, together with her special guest, Melissa Batchelor, PhD, RN, FNP, FGSA, FAAN. Melissa Batchelor earned her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) School of Nursing (SON) in 2000. She enjoyed working with the complex medical needs older adults experienced more than any other population, so after graduation, she started working with a geriatric practice in Wilmington, North Carolina. She worked full-time for five years as FNP in geriatric primary care across many long-term care settings (skilled nursing homes, assisted living, home, and office visits). She transitioned into academic nursing in 2005, joining the faculty at UNCW SON as a lecturer. She has maintained her clinical practice and board certification, while her primary roles have been as a Nurse Scientist and Nurse Educator. Part One of ‘How Healthcare Professionals Are Using Video for Awareness' Lately, a lot of nurses are utilizing Ted Talks and social media to communicate a message of how important it is to stay home and stay safe during this time since they are the ones who are mostly exposed to the coronavirus. Considering that we're losing so many lives due to the COVID-19, people should take things seriously within the media. But unfortunately, some don't understand the importance of social distancing to help prevent the virus spread, how to use a mask properly, how to put gloves on, and many people don't have any knowledge when it comes to national infectious disease emergency plans. And that's where the nurses and health care professionals need to step up and share more valuable information and awareness. The US has the largest segment of the healthcare workforce. If they can utilize social media and use their influence, they can pass on accurate information and continue to reinforce the essential messages from the CDC. You have to be kind of a self-directed learner to educate yourself about what you don't understand. Part Two of ‘How Healthcare Professionals Are Using Video for Awareness' There's an excellent opportunity for leaders in the health care industry to use more PR to reach out to more of the news stations. The news stations are still looking for different creative stories of people that have good lighting within their own space, and the journalists are reporting from home. This particular war is a war of inaction, which is the part the public doesn't understand. And in this situation, the way to take control of it is not to go out. That's the hardest part that people are struggling with. This is a war, but it's not a warlike 1917. This is like a war within our own country, but also within multiple countries at this point. Hopefully, more health care providers continue to put themselves out there in the media, podcasts, and videos just to spread more awareness because people are looking for leadership as well as education. Helping Small Business During A Time of Uncertainty with Amanda Dake Many people want to expand their reach outside of their brick and mortar walls. They're ready to get their message out to the masses. Some people get caught up in not understanding the online space. Right now, we have a much more significant reason to do this. Brick and mortars are closed down for the most part. We're in a time frame with a lot of uncertainty. In this week's episode, Tamara Thompson welcomes Amanda Dakes as her special guest. They talk about serving some of those brick and mortar businesses in terms of switching their revenue online. Part One of ‘How to Bring a Brick & Mortar Business Online During Time of Uncertainty' Since the coronavirus outbreak, have you ever thought of how you can stay relevant? How you can stay in front of people? It's not about making money all the time. It's about the long game ahead of us. Being of service. Once all of this is over, they're going to remember that you were contributing and filling that gap for them. Later, whenever they're ready to make that move financially, they're going to come to you first. “People are looking for leadership as well as expertise right now because they want to continue to thrive.” — Tamara Thompson Now is the perfect time to be seen. Everybody's stuck at home and will probably see your content. Consider asking yourself these questions: How are you spending your time when you're at home? Are you taking advantage of creating video content? Are you doing live streams on Facebook? How can you get that engagement with people? What would you be willing to do for some businesses struggling right now? What kind of questions are people reaching out to you about? Can you go to your audience and ask them what they need help with? These are some of the questions you may need to start thinking about. The list goes on. There are many creative ways to put yourself out there in the media. If you are a business owner that has an idea for an online program or course. Right now is the best time to put that together. What else are you doing? You don't need to offer your services for free just because there's a global crisis. It doesn't mean that people aren't willing to buy and invest in your service. They're looking for leadership as well as expertise right now. They want to continue to thrive. They're looking for experts with programs and services that will help their business. Regardless of what's going on around us, if somebody comes to you for help and they're ready to move forward, then offer them the opportunity to enroll in your programs. Nobody has events right now physically, but there are ways to optimize this virtually. Use your expertise. Figure out how to pivot that into working with the current situation. It doesn't mean you're all of your programs and services behind. Part Two of ‘How to Bring a Brick & Mortar Business Online During Time of Uncertainty' It's really a mindset thing at this point. People are almost giving up on themselves. You could be stuck in your house for six months and just go crazy. Because you're not used to this entrepreneurial life. To give people sanity, it would be helpful if you create online courses, products, membership sites, podcasts, or any content that helps you build your business and authority. It's the people that are consistent right now that are going to be remembered. “This is the best time to help people create content that can be launched in the next thirty days or sooner.” — Tamara Thompson Sometimes, you're just a little too close to what you do, and you're stuck. So, it's really nice to be the catalyst to move them out of that space and encourage them to start thinking differently than others. There's an opportunity right now to put on actual live events. You can invite others to join in. Think about anything that you do in your current business. You could be available online to help keep that momentum. So people can check some of these things off their lists. Maybe you want to offer online membership, course or program. Perhaps you want to launch a lead generation campaign to start capturing email addresses. Perhaps you do want a YouTube channel. Pick one thing and focus on it at least for a week. If you don't have an online presence right now, the sooner you start the process of having an online presence, whatever that looks like for your business, the sooner you can be ahead of the game. You can stay in touch with your client base, offering them services and planning a fun party at your business after this is over. Like, who knows what you could be doing if you already had started that? If you haven't started, now's a perfect time to go ahead and jump in on the online game or create. Tara Brown started the business in 2016 with a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised $46,938 to fund the first production run. Brown searched everywhere for a product that would passively dry hair. When she couldn't find one she liked, she invented it. In this week's episode, Tamara Thompson together with her special guest, Tara Brown, talks about “The Sleep Styler” and provides quick tips, tricks, and resources to build your influence online with video marketing. Part One of Shark Tank “The Sleep Styler” Tara Brown's 'The Sleep Styler' is a system that styles and dries hair while you sleep. The heart of the system is a memory foam tube covered in water-absorbing microfiber. The entrepreneur pitched her heatless hair roller encased in a piece of moisture-wicking microfiber fabric, called The Sleep Styler, on ABC's "Shark Tank". Brown asked for $75,000 for 20 percent of her company but snapped up the first offer from the reality series' shark Lori Greiner. The "Queen of QVC" offered her $75,000 for 25 percent of her enterprise. “Positioning on TV news is important in media.” — Tamara Thompson Tara's friend helped her shoot a video, which is something she has never done before. She got a call from the casting agent just one week after her Kickstarter launched. The Kickstarter campaign took a lot of pre-campaign work, and it generated $75,000. Tara isn't a massive fan of social media but admits that it helped her tremendously until she stepped into the tank. Moreover, getting involved in TV shows is vital in media because you always get a bump in sales every single time, even if it's just a forty-five-second segment. It also opened more opportunities for her to be connected with different entrepreneurs who wanted her to mentor them. Part Two of Shark Tank “The Sleep Styler” Today, we see a lot of women using different hairstyle tricks, and Tara's 'Sleep Styler' all started in a fantasy of waking up with her hair already dried and styled. At first, she checked online to see if something like it already existed. She went to the fabric district in LA and tried everything absorbent there. And it turns out of all of the different ones, bamboos, and cotton, the human-made microfiber is the most absorbent. Having thought of the shape, it needed to be; the diameter turned out an inch and a half, which is the right size for a curling iron because it makes a big bombshell curl. She contemplated the kind of strap that won't hurt while sleeping. The whole process taught her how to sew and even made her daughter's Halloween costume. “I thrive off of helping people position themselves as industry leaders.” — Tamara Thompson The product that Tara originally made for herself turned out to be a huge help for other women who probably had the same hair fantasy for years. This goes to show that everyone has the power to help other people get to their next success. Tamara Thompson, as the CEO of Broadcast Your Authority, shares how rewarding it is to be able to help other people in terms of video marketing. 11 Innovative Approaches to Improve Video Marketing “Create a catchy video title that attracts views.” — Tamara Thompson (01:23-01:27) Many business owners are investing in a video marketing strategy because the platform provides an excellent opportunity to connect with your ideal clients. In this week's episode, Tamara Thompson talks about 11 innovative approaches to improve video marketing. Part One of '11 Innovative Approaches to Improve Video Marketing' Before anything else, you must know your audience. Ask your clients why did they come to you in the first place, right? What was the problem that they came to you about, for you to help them? Does your content reflect what your audience needs to watch to do your research? What are prospects researching, and what do they want to learn about? “You need a strategic plan to get your video message across powerfully.” — Tamara Thompson (02:09-02:11) Make sure you have proper video descriptions, and tagging is in alignment, which is super critical. Do more in-depth research from keywords that are trending, what is popular, and not on YouTube and Google. Create a spreadsheet on keywords, phrases, and the amount of traffic searching for that content monthly. Make a list of topics that you would like to create videos on then run it through YouTube. See what the topics auto-generate like healing music, healing scriptures, healing meditation, etc. Look for old videos with high view count to know if it is the right phrase to focus on. Also, be sure to analyze the video itself to see where their content or presentation could be lacking to make yours stronger and more original. Create an intriguing title to make sure your content drives results. The title needs to be just as well-researched as the information it contains. This is the part where almost everyone gets super lazy. Create titles based on keyword research. From there, you can use the titles and to produce compelling and congruent content. It's a process, and if you are hiring a solo videographer, all these steps will likely be missed. Your videos will be missing the critical elements because videographers focus on creative visuals. Find a passionate team, not just about the video but the marketing side as well. Channel the message of the video. Plan out your video messaging strategically. Not everyone is a fantastic talker and can speak off the cusp. Some people write scripts to get the messaging across strategically and powerfully. Make sure to show the benefit, not the feature. So, planning is a critical part of the process. Not only is the research so important, but pre-production is also 85% of the essential part of production in general. List all the different shots that you're needed as a storyboard or a story map. Draw out the simple drawing of any complex shots or transitions. This is optional, but it's helpful at times. Part Two of '11 Innovative Approaches to Improve Video Marketing' Come up with additional creative footage that will make your story pop and come to life. Use video content generated by customers. Ask your favorite customers to be on camera and talk about how your product, service, or experience has benefited them. Film it in a documentary style. Have them feel comfortable doing it without any script. Just prepare them an outline and ask them some questions and provide it for them so they can share their insights honestly. “People who demonstrate passion and energy on camera are more likely to hold a viewer's attention.” — Tamara Thompson (04:49-04:55) What emotions are you trying to evoke? What do you want your audience to feel after watching your videos? Different kinds of emotions resonate with different people on different levels. For example, if you're a business coach for women, you might consider having more of an inspiring content that stimulates joy. Don't be boring. You're the teleprompter. You need to make sure you don't sound boring, or you're robotic. You can overlay creative visuals or additional footage to spice up your speaking portions. People who demonstrate passion and energy on camera are more likely to hold a viewer's attention than being monotone or boring. Always make sure you have a call to action in your teaser or full-length videos. Even Facebook stories, wherever it is, have a call to action. It's so important to tell the viewer what to do next. Strategically map it out and be clear about your offers. If you're doing a video for a low tier product, it doesn't make sense to get the person on a phone call. You might offer them to go to free opt-in because you want to build your list. Where do you want your potential customers to go? Is it a Facebook group? Is it subscribe to YouTube? Whatever that is, whatever is most important to you, make sure you figure that out and send them to your call to action. How To Connect Are you ready to establish your authority with video marketing?
