To learn more about Evoque's MGI product, check it out here: https://www.evoquedcs.com/ Regional Trends in Data Center Services and Markets in 2Q21 Northern Virginia is a market-driven by hyperscale requirements. It saw moderate growth in 2Q, and it's also spreading out to cover a wider geographical area. The sector there is so unique, datacenterHawk is developing a new analysis tool that tracks and reports specifically on hyperscaling trends. It will undoubtedly be useful in other regions as well as some of them grow towards that end of the market. In a way, Phoenix is positioned to be the next Northern Virginia. The amount of interest from large companies and the volume of new development are both indicators of some big movement in the near future. There's a misconception that there's a lot of supply available in the Phoenix market. That might have been somewhat true up until about three months ago. But now, those sites are seeing a lot of activity, and it's just a matter of time before more capacity is needed. Speaking of capacity, Portland has doubled in the last two years. A number of providers with major hyperscale and enterprise credibility have established themselves in the area, so hyperscale users that already have ties with these companies can offer an easy onboarding process. Being on the west coast but outside of the metropolitan areas that have development challenges is a plus. The undersea cables are well-positioned to feed expanding demands in Asia. And the mix of hyperscale and enterprise clients means that even though local companies tend to be much smaller than the likes of Dallas or Chicago, there's still a lot of opportunity for high bandwidth data center services at great prices. Which drives more companies to the area, thus snowballing the trend. Great tax incentives and business-friendly attitudes from the local government certainly help as well. Salt Lake City is an exciting market, continuing to ramp in 2Q. There's lots of pre-leasing from interested users while maintaining their local client base. The providers there are building big, which historically has been rewarded in the region. Proximity to Silicon Valley certainly helps. The development cycle is lagging behind what was seen in Portland by a little more than three years, so the potential for a boom is there.

We think there's a case for adding some exposure to Classically Defensive sectors in the near-term. But longer-term we still like Cyclicals.

This special episode is a commentary by DBS chief economist Taimur Baig. Singapore’s January-April economic momentum will be disrupted by a set of renewed stringent measures. New coronavirus variants are highly transmissible; they may also have some vaccine resistant properties. An abundance of caution warrants a degree of reinforced stringency on mobility and proximity. Singapore’s imperative now is to vaccinate a wider population as soon as possible, as vaccinated individuals are extremely unlikely to suffer from severe illness or fatality. Japan’s real GDP likely contacted by 2% in 1Q as domestic demand deteriorated due to the resurgence of COVID-19, fully offsetting the recovery in exports. Same could be on the cards for Singapore in 2Q. Between progress with vaccination and targeted fiscal support, Singapore should come out of the May/June turbulence quickly. The new report reads: "Adoption of the benchmark crypto as a global reserve asset has crossed the mainstream threshold, as we see it, and the market tide is rising. This scenario has switched the focal point of our 2021 analysis toward more-technical indicators from a wider range of fundamental and on-chain metrics in the past few years." EUR/USD is gaining 0.09% at 1.2164 and a breakout of 1.2179 (weekly high Feb.23) would target 1.2189 (weekly high Jan.22) en route to 1.2349 (2021 high Jan.6). On the downside, the next support at 1.2023 (weekly low Feb.17) followed by 1.2004 (100-day SMA) and finally 1.1952 (2021 low Feb.5). The dollar index was up 0.01% at 90.002. EUR/USD rose 0.2% to 1.2174, USD/JPY was up 0.1% at 105.14, while the risk-sensitive AUD/USD rose 0.1% to 0.7917, climbing to the highest level in almost three years as commodity prices have soared. These gains have triggered worries of a global rise in inflation, and puts the focus on Fed chief Jerome Powell, who testifies before Congress later in the day. He is expected to provide assurance that the Fed will not respond to higher inflation with an immediate rate hike, which could potentially cause the dollar to drop further. The Fed finds the right words on these occasions – most certainly downplaying the forthcoming rise in inflation into 2Q – such that the bond market decline can probably stay orderly.

MDA out in Houston Posted a 217-102 record in his four seasons with the Rockets. He reached the WCF once & semifinals three times. Expected to be hired in Indiana Clippers/Nuggets 1Q Nuggets are going to get a good share of open shots today with how aggressive LA is against Jokic and Murray. Today will come down to the role players making enough of them. Landry Shamet's speed attacking closeouts always catches defenders by surprise. Adjusting the bench rotation to play JaMychal Green more paid off immediately for LAC with 6 points. 2Q Clippers defense is locked in right now. A huge end of the quarter for the Clippers. It has all started on the defensive and that triggered their offense. The nuggets are playing hard but when the Clips are this locked in defensively there isn't much a team can do. I really think they had such a great 2Q due to how efficient they were in their transition offense which I believe is their best offense overall because, at times, there is no rhyme or reason to what they do in the half court and get stagnant. 3Q Clippers can't give the Nuggets Shamet and Harrell guarding Jokic and Murray in a pick and roll. It can't happen. It's tough for them to gain an advantage putting Kawhi/Paul George in action together. The Clippers are who they are at this point. A very good team that wins when they play a specific way and struggles when they can't do those things. And they have the talent to win even when they struggle. Clippers defense looks so much different when it's Kawhi and Zubac involved defending that pick and roll between Murray and Jokic. They're having to go to using LouWill's man as a screener to loosen things up. This is a great little thing from Denver. They have been attacking LouWill in P&R. They've been attacking Harrell. Did it at the same time. Craig screens, LouWill switches, Jokic is the second screener. Harrell stays in a drop, LouWill goes over, but no one there on pop. Look, the Clippers cannot play Lou Williams, Landry Shamet, and Montrezl Harrell at the same time without the defense going to hell. Just not a good idea. 4Q Clippers adjust by putting Kawhi on Jokic, PG on Murray and Zubac on Craig to help/double on post ups. Clippers scored 29 points in the 2nd quarter. They've scored 30 points total in the 2nd half with over 3 minutes left in the game. Denver is attacking all of the Clippers pressure points. Ask me what the Clippers have done to attack Denver. Denver has torched the Clippers just by putting the Clippers guards in P&R. It's forcing them into rotation every single time and the Nuggets are taking advantage of it. After winning this game, Denver has absolutely zero to lose going into Game 7. - Celtics/Heat Preview To become a monthly supporter of the Back Em' Down podcast, click this link: anchor.fm/cody-johnson4 --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/cody-johnson4/support

Nuggets/Jazz Donovan Mitchell and Jamal Murray exchanged shots back and forth down the stretch, but ultimately Murray's play in overtime carried the Nuggets to a 135-125 win and a 1-0 lead in the series. Raptors/Nets You look at the final score to the game and it screams blowout. While Toronto did get up by 33 at one point of the game, but the Nets did not fold as they fought back to get the game within 8. As I mentioned in the NBA Playoff Preview: EC episode, this is who the Nets are and what they are going to do throughout the series even if they are at a complete disadvantage. Celtics/Sixers The common theme is that when Tatum has a big night then Boston usually wins. He ended the night with 32 PTS/13 REB/3 BLK. Boston is now 36-7 when Tatum scores 20 or more and 13-3 when he scores 30 or more. He was not the only Celtic with a big night as Jaylen Brown poured in 29 PTS. The Celtics are now 14-0 when he scores 25 or more. Tatum was the driving force throughout the first three quarters as Brown turned it on In the 4th to put Philly away. Clippers/Mavericks While the Mavericks were not able to steal Game 1 of the series, they put themselves in quite the position to win a couple of games in this series. Unfortunately, this game will be overshadowed by the unnecessary ejection of Kristaps Porzingis with two technical fouls. Both them were not deserving and each situation is bound to take place during a playoff series. The emotion are running high. The Clippers looked to put Dallas away early as they jumped out to an 18-2 lead, but the tide quickly turned as the Mavericks took an 14 point lead during the 2Q. As phenomenal of night that Luka Doncic had (42 points - a playoff record for a debut). It wasn’t enough as the Clippers depth and the 56 points scored between Kawhi and PG were too much to overcome. Kia NBA All-Seeding Team 1st Team: (Lillard (MVP)/Booker/Doncic/Harden/Warren) 2nd Team: (Giannis/Kawhi/LeVert/MPJ/Porzingis) Kia NBA Coach of the Seeding Games (Monty Williams) Trailblazers/Grizzlies: A lot of ball screens for Portland to free up Lillard. The guards are looking to get downhill vs. Memphis bigs. Lillard hits his first three after Blazers start 0-3 and Collins follows up with another corner 3 on the next possession. Well balanced attack from Portland so far - everyone chipping in. Trailblazers really need to buckle down defensively. They can really give teams trouble with the high low offense between Nurk/Whiteside. Portland has completely took over this game. Another area where Portland can gives teams trouble is possessing bigs who can stretch the floor. Hezonja with good minutes while hitting a 3. Whiteside and Anthony cannot defend the Anderson/Valanciunas pick and roll. McCollum & Lillard already in double figures. Both teams are fighting! Nurkic is hiring shots from all over the floor and now has a double double (2Q). He had 17 rebounds in the 1H to go along with 15 points. He is exhausted which will be something to keep an eye on. Blazer pick apart the trap with a quick pass to Nurk who kicks to McCollum. Blazers porous defense is the difference in this 3Q. It’s going to be their downfall. DAME WITH THE JAM! It always seems when Portland sets those wide screens with Nurk at the top of the key passing that it equate to success. Watching Lillard, I’m impressed with his jabs and rip throughs. This game is highly competitive. Trailblazers attacking Dieng. The problem for Portland now is that Memphis is beaming with confidence and they are trying to get back in the game. Gary Trent Jr. with a couple of huge deflections to get stops for Portland. McCollum ties it up! He is picking on Morant. STAY MEL0 Grizzlies are being aggressive in guarding the ball screens vs. Lillard. Brooks is such a competitor, he’s not going to back down from Melo/McCollum/Lillard. They are going to need Anderson and JV to step up as they are the ones with the most experience in pressure games. Morant is smooth in the open floor and is quick getting into the paint. Grizzlies are really struggling to score (1Q) as Brooks/Morant/JV/Clarke are 5-18. Melton will he needed to provide some scoring as the main options aren’t producing. But the best thing for them is that Dame hasn’t gotten go yet to put them away and their trio hasn’t gotten off to a good start. Now they are on a 13-2 run. Brooks looks like Lillard right now! Both teams are fighting! JV with 14 rebounds. Here’s the problem... Trailblazers are making a little run to end the quarter, but only down 8 and Ja isn’t playing well. He continues to be aggressive. Memphis needs to trap Dame the rest of the game. Morant is going to be a nightmare for teams once he can consistently knock down 3s. It sickens me how many long 2s Brooks takes. Anthony Tolliver has been such a steadying presence in this game. Brandon Clarke has stepped in this 3Q to provide scoring next to Morant. Ja has such a great ability of making that over the top pass off of screens to shooters. Grizzlies attacking Whiteside. What a 3Q from Memphis with 43 points. Morant is out here HOOPING! I really hate that technical in this game where there’s a lot of emotion. Morant’s ability to split on ball screens is impeccable. He’s getting to whatever spot he wants to. Is there a better player who can drive left and shoot the right handed floater better than Morant? Memphis really need to protect these offensive possessions late in the game and not give Portland extra possessions. Melton would’ve been better than Allen on Dame there. BROOKS! In this edition, Lori discusses her takeaways from 2Q20 earnings season so far. She and her team recently did a deep dive into the trends in beats rates, forward-looking revisions, and commentary on earnings calls for the 63% of S&P 500 companies that had reported 2Q results as of Friday, July 31st. Three big things you need to know: (1) Similar to May and June economic data, 2Q earnings have been less bad than feared, but the reaction in the stock market has been very mixed – up until the big Tech results came in at the end of the month. (2) The rate of upward EPS estimate revisions (earnings sentiment) has continue to surge, but we are on guard for a peak before too long. (3) Among the major sectors, Consumer Staples and Tech have been positive standouts, while Energy and REITs have been negative standouts. Earnings for 2Q have started rolling in, with IBM, AMD, and Intel all early reporters from the Data Center world. There's solid financial news for all three, but each with different industry-level impacts. Hosts Matt Kimball & Steve McDowell, both from Moor Insights & Strategy, talk about what it all means. Intel delivered solid numbers, but were punished by both guidance and disclosure of some execution problems in rolling out its next generation, 7nm, processors. Solid numbers for the quarter none-the-less, with a surprising bright spot in Intel's NSG memory group. AMD, who has become a solid competitor to Intel across nearly every segment, is firing on all cylindars, expecially in the DataCentric Server world. All while IBM seems to be finding its groove with freshman CEO Arvind Krishna, as IBM's Cloud and Red Hat businesses are standouts. IBM Z-series and Storage also remain particularly strong. In Podcast 31, David and Mike take a quick look back at the first half of 2020 and also take a look forward to discuss what the second half will look like for the data center market. This is an episode of HawkPodcast, datacenterHawk's viewpoints on the data center industry. If you enjoyed this episode, you can check them all out on our blog. If you'd like to know when we release future episodes, you can subscribe to our newsletter on our site. 2Q has wrapped up, you can read more about it on our 2Q 2020 data center market overview, but we've started to look forward to the 2nd half of 2020. Below are a few of the points we discuss in the podcast above. Big demand in 2nd half of 2020 We think the 2nd half of 2020 will look similar to the 1st in that demand will continue to be pushed forward by big buyers all across the industry. The enterprise sector of the data center industry took a bigger hit from COVID-19, but we expect to see those businesses rebound with increased demand in 3Q and 4Q. Markets that will be active in 2nd half of 2020 After seeing the trends from 2Q, we think that there a few markets primed for activity in the 2nd half of 2020: Portland – Though only a handful of providers have a Portland presence, it continues to see healthy growth due to the attractive power costs and connectivity to subsea cables. Chicago – Tax incentives passed in 2019 were a factor in winning opportunities in 2Q. Given the large population and need for companies to be near their users, we expect growth to continue through the second half of 2020. Northern New Jersey – This market had a strong absorption quarter and continues to surprise in 2020 after it's been quiet in recent years. Northern New Jersey had a lot of activity back in 2011-2013, so we think that there may have been some long term contracts in place that are now starting to expire, and naturally, some companies will be making decisions that could cause activity and movement in this market. Data center growth in Europe The European data center industry has different challenges than the US does, a main one being that the growth is happening in different countries. Even with those challenges, we expect to see hyperscale maturity in the major European markets. This growth should trickle down to the secondary European markets as well. Other things we talked about: • Our 2Q 2020 Data Center Market Overview • HawkTalk 45 with Andy Cvengros about the Chicago market • HawkPodcast 30 with our lead European analyst, Dan Scarbrough Don't forget to check out the rest of our HawkPodcasts and don't miss out on our latest release of market data for the data center industry.

You can also click here if you want to read our 2Q 2020 data center overview for North America and Europe. European Demand Trends Looking back at 2019, the majority of the activity in Europe was seen in a few markets, with Amsterdam receiving most of that activity. So far in 2020, the demand is more even across the five main European markets, including Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam, Paris, and Dublin. Growth in Frankfurt, Paris, and Dublin seems to be increasing in 2020. European Hyperscale Growth American data center providers have taken an interest in the five major European markets in the past year. This new interest has attracted more hyperscale users to look at these European markets, which has created more competition for the regional European developers and has caused them to shift their strategy. Emerging European Markets With major European markets receiving increased development interest from US data center operators, regional developers in Europe are expanding in other locations. Areas like Zurich, Warsaw, Marseille, and Barcelona are emerging markets expected to see growth based on that trend. The maturity of the subsea cable industry is also creating interest in these smaller European markets as well. If you'd like to know when we release future episodes, you can subscribe here. On HawkPodcast 27 David and I look back at HawkPodcast 20, where we made our predictions for 2020, and see what we got right, and what we missed, and how COVID-19 has impacted them. (spoiler: we didn't predict a global pandemic would occur.) Here are a few quick takeaways from our conversation as well as links to what we talked about below. Data center facilities continue operating despite COVID-19 challenges Data center operators have figured out how to move forward in the midst of the pandemic. We feel bullish on the amount of activity that has already taken place in the 2Q 2020 and believe that COVID-19 hasn't materially impacted data center operator's ability to bring supply online. Virtual tours and remote monitoring highlight flexibility as data center operators look for new ways to attract and service customers COVID-19 is changing business as we know it and it's caused data center operators to take a different approach to some of their norms. For example, some major operators have created virtual tours for their major data centers, such as Aligned Energy, Stream Data Centers, & Equinix. Operators with robust remote monitoring systems in place are seeing usage increase dramatically and those who do not are moving to implement them. A look toward the second half of 2020 in the data center industry Toward the end of the episode, David & Mike discuss where the data center industry is headed in 2020. A couple of predictions that we discuss are, large cloud service providers leasing activity will be increased when compared to 2019, due in part to COVID-19. A little less M&A activity in the first half of 2020, but we expect there to be more in the second half. Starting 2021, battery systems for fully electric vehicles in the premium segment will be manufactured in this production facility." Now, can you think of a U.S. electric car maker which wants to make it's own cells? "KUKA is implementing its comprehensive technological know-how as well as over fifty KUKA industrial robots to meet these demands, encompassing the supply, cleaning and measuring of the battery frames, checking the battery modules to be installed, application of the thermal compound, assembling and fastening the individual modules in the battery frame, electrical contacting, sealing and screwing on the housing cover, and finally the leak test and quality inspection at the end of the line."   https://www.kuka.com/en-de/press/news/2020/03/batterie-pack-linie   TESLA MODEL Y LENGTH, WIDTH, HEIGHT, WEIGHT, OFF-ROAD FEATURES EMERGE "Specs for the Tesla Model Y are finally available. Much cheaper than having to invest in another battery, use the one you have!   Dan from Canada I would put a fast charger at the French River Provincial Park in Ontario. There are currently no fast chargers between Parry Sound and Sudbury along Ontario Highway 69.   And then..."The new Ivy charging network is planning a fast charger at Key River, near French River Provincial Park!"   KARL CRAMER I'd love L2 chargers at the parking lot of my gym. You do the thing you're supposed to do and get a decent charge when you're done. I currently have a free charger a 10 minute walk away from my gym. I know, poor me.   MARK RICHARDS I would want a 350kW charge station in downtown Denver.  I drive uber, and sometimes need a boost.  I have a Bolt now, but will likely upgrade when GM comes out with some newer EVs, so I'll be able to take advantage of the higher speeds. I hope Charge Point is doing this for one lucky listener of yours, and I hope it is me.   BILL BURGAR I'd put 100s of 3pin sockets in long term parking at airports. All sockets limited to 6 amps i.e. enough to fully charge any car over a few days or a week while you are away - very cheap to do and ensures that there are spaces with sockets for everyone with an EV. Maybe do the same but with 13amps per socket for all railway station car parks.   GIL ROSADO I think my dream charger would be a charger that plugs into a standard wall outlet. To get around the slow charge speeds, it would actually be a battery that you leave plugged in all the time. When you hook up your car to it, it uses the charge in the battery to speed up the charging. You could install this charger anywhere where there is a standard wall outlet, and should be enough to charge your car fully overnight (8-10 hours) if you are charging at home.   DARREN FINDLAY  I’d like some chargers installed at work, even a few weather proof 3 pin plugs would be good. A trickle charge is better than nothing at all! I’d also like to see chargers in all public car parks. I’d even be happy to pay more to park in an area dedicated to electric cars – it may even cut down on the ice-ing issue!   Mia Oppelstrup In response to this week's question of the week, with no concern for cost the one place I'd like a (DC fast) charger is between two US landmarks that are currently impossible to drive between in an EV: Yellowstone National Park and Mount Rushmore. There is one Tesla charger but the way it's placed you still wouldn't quite make it to the park and back to the charger. In fact I think we may really need 2 DCFC to make the route feasible.   NEW QUESTION OF THE WEEK The MYEV.com Question Of The Week…   Why do you think Tesla are quietly delivering the Model Y without the usual fanfare?   I want to say a heartfelt thank you to the 241 patrons of this podcast whose generosity means I get to keep making this show, which aims to entertain and inform thousands of listeners every day about a brighter future. In this fascinating episode, Griselda Lua joins to the podcast to talk about the spiritual practice of spiritual mindfulness attained through the practice of focused breath prayer. Are you ever at a loss for words in prayer? Maybe you get distracted or too overwhelmed in prayer? We are called to love God with all of our minds- but how do we do this practically? Prayer is what helps us be continually aware of the presence of God each moment of our lives and in every breath we take. Griselda teaches on the challenge of dealing with distractions & big emotions so we can effectively set our minds on God and His Truth. About the Speaker:As of 2019, Griselda has been married to the love of her life, Rafael Lua, for 24 years. They have three adventurous children: Daniel-20, Adrian-19 and Bianca-16. She’s had the amazing blessing of being reached-out to, raised-up in and is now ministering in the central area of the Los Angeles Church where she was baptized as a college student. In addition to their local ministry, Rafael and Griselda serve as the Pacific SouthWest Church Family Chairpersons and have mentored church leaders in Moscow and Mexico City. She was recently elected by the PSW as their first female delegate. Griselda is grateful to God for His mind-blowing grace & steadfast love.Episode Notes: Spiritual Mindfulness - the practice of paying attention to the presence of God in this present moment. (Giving your full attention, non-judgmentally, to where God is leading you). Jesus expressed this desires for us in John 17:20-23 NIVQ. How often do we truly stop to reflect on the actual presence of God in our lives?Q. How would our lives be different if each step we took and each breath we took was connected to the awareness of the presence of a God? Would we respond differently to conflict? Challenges? Temptation? The scriptures often call us to engage our minds:“Be still, and know that I am God”. Ps.46:10“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”“ The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. Romans 8:6“You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is been corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your mind...” Eph.4:22“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” Col 3:2Q. How much focused time are we really spending to train our minds? This takes intentionality. Jesus got up early to spend solitary time away from any interruptions and to concentrate on setting His mind on things above. Our bodies are connected to our minds; they are one. Each influences the other. * without concentration, getting rid of distractions and interruptions, prayer cannot bear fruit. * The fruit of prayer is peace, calm, reassurance in our faith, stability and strength, hope, connection to God himself. * prayer is not the act of submitting a request and getting an immediate answer. We all know this, but in our hearts and minds do we practice this? Q. Or do we become frustrated or discouraged when our sincere request goes unanswered?Phillipians 4:6-7 reminds us:“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”What do to when you are nSupport the show (https://tithe.ly/give_new/www/#/tithely/give-one-time/678206?giving_to=Woven%20In%20Truth%20Podcast)

Financial risks are adding up. Trade battles with China, the surprising vulnerability of Middle East oil supplies, the duration of Hong Kong protests, the drawn-out Brexit dilemma are all drags on business confidence and economic growth. In recognition, the Federal Reserve just cut interest rates for the second time this summer and remains on alert. Another largely unrecognized concern? In August, for the first time in history, assets in passive equity funds based in the U.S. surpassed holdings in actively managed funds. The most popular passive funds are overwhelmingly dominated by a small group of mega-cap stocks, especially the tech giants such as Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, Alphabet (Google), and Facebook. The fate of many investors’ portfolios hinges on the performance of this small group of mega stocks that have already had a record-setting run. Global value investor Chuck de Lardemelle explains how he is de-risking his portfolios including the essential role gold is playing in the process.
