This week Chris and Steve take a look at The Penguin a spin off series from 2022's The Batman film The sequel to 2021's Wanda Vision: Agatha All Along And a new Procedural that caught our eye, High Potential starring Kaitlin Olson from The Mick and It's Always Sunny! It's a long episode, so buckle in and let's go!
It's our 2024 Fall TV and Streaming Preview Spectacular! We'll dish on the shows we're excited for… and also other shows! That also exist! (Surely someone is excited for all the Citadel spinoffs!) Then we'll channel the dark arts of streaming to transform our excitement into buying advice in a special Fall installment of Add? Keep? Cancel! (The segment where we spend your money for you!)
Hello, Hello! In this episode, Chris talks with Actor Sara Antonio. They discuss her acting journey and experiences in television and film, sharing insights into scene study techniques, audition strategies, and mental wellness in the industry. Sara also reflects on memorable roles and working alongside icons like Louis Gossett Jr., offering advice he imparted to younger performers. We also talk about: Sara's role on the ABC/Hulu series Will Trent and her approach to character development Inspiration drawn from performances of Tatiana Maslany and Alison Brie Working with icons like Dolly Parton and upcoming projects Tactics for dealing with rejection in the industry and maintaining confidence Tips for fostering empathy in storytelling and audiences Enjoy! Indie Artist Spotlight Artist: Goodvibes Sound Track: I've Been Here Before Goodvibes Sound are Alex and Angus, two friends who live in London and record out of their basement studio in a former corner shop. They make disco-infused indie pop, with lyrical themes touching on love, mindfulness, and modern life in the city. "I've Been Here Before" explores this back-and-forth that we all experience throughout life. While the lyrics discuss feelings of isolation and loneliness, the contrast between mellow verses and catchy high-energy choruses evokes this repetitive cycle. https://www.thegoodvibesinstitute.com/ https://www.instagram.com/goodvibesinstitute/ https://www.tiktok.com/@goodvibesinstitute Support our work - every subscriber, rating, and review matters! #MAKEIT All Links: https://beacons.ai/themakeitpodcast Apple Podcasts: https://link.chtbl.com/makeit Spotify: https://link.chtbl.com/makeitonspotify Subscribe to our newsletter at: www.bonsai.film/subscribe YouTube: https://link.chtbl.com/makeitonyoutube?at=1406156285

My love language is collaborating. There's nothing more fun than working with amazing people to make something you're proud of. Today's guest, Katya Martin, shares that passion of creating and collaborating. She's a filmmaker, actor most recently on Promised Land on ABC & Hulu, a producer and all around a creative who's committed to telling authentic stories and giving more women a place to tell their own. She's definitely someone I'm keeping in my circle.

On this week's entertainment-themed Round 2, we took a week off from TV and watched two movies: The Tender Bar (2021) and Up in the Air (2009). Both were enjoyable character studies, even if they were also very "Man has Man Problems." And speaking of enjoyable characters, George Clooney stars in Up in the Air and directed The Tender Bar. Next week, we're going to check out the pilots of two new TV series and consider whether to continue with one or both: As We See It (on Amazon Prime) and Abbott Elementary (on ABC/Hulu). If you have strong feelings about either, let us know!
In Episode 288, Madden and Kolsky have a little laugh about the sadness of missing The Challenge before getting networky with: The underwhelming How I Met Your Father on Hulu (2:20) and how it's super networky, despite being a streaming-only show, and mediocre-at-best… The more enjoyable Abbott Elementary on ABC/Hulu … Continue reading →

If you haven't yet watched Queens on ABC (Hulu), stop what you're doing right now and watch it! It is so good! Those of us that grew up in the TRL days will appreciate it more, but I think you will love it regardless. Queens is has Brandy, it has Eve, it has Naturi Naughton (3LW), and it has Nadine Velasquez as the Nasty Bitches!!!! They were a all female rap group in the 90s and it shows them now in their 40s after another rapper samples their big hit song "Nasty Girl". It's been my favorite new series this season and I can't wait to see where the show goes, its already had some twists. The best part of this show, besides the fact that Brandy is an amazing rapper, is that you can then go to iTunes or Spotify or wherever you listen to music and play the songs from the show! I need these four amazing women, and the talented Pepi Sonuga ('Lil Muffin) to go on tour together, hopefully the show hooks me up with backstage passes. Queens Cocktail (diffordsguide.com): Ingredients 1 1/2 oz Dry Gin 1/2 oz Noilly Prat Extra Dry 3/4 oz Martini Rosso Sweet Vermouth 1 oz Pineapple Juice (fresh pressed) Directions Shake all ingredients with ice. Fine strain into chilled coupe glass. Garnish with pineapple wedge on rim. Drinking Game: Drink when... The Nasty Bitches perform. A little bit of the real Eve comes out. If you can spot Eve's paw print tat. Reference to something real. Feel like your high school self, very nostalgic. Finish your drink when... There is a flashback. As always, drink responsibly and with others. Tell your friends about the podcast, leave me a positive 5 star review, subscribe to the podcast. Welcome to Episode 396. We are joined by our good friend Joe Stark from Starkcast. For Good Pop Bad Pop in Movies this week we talk about how we feel about the new trailer for THE MATRIX RESURRECTIONS starring Keanu Reeves. MALIGNANT from James Wan is in theaters and on HBO Max. Did this horror movie live up to the hype? Netflix dropped the action revenge movie KATE this week starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Woody Harrelson. We all talk about the new Mortal Kombat animated movie MORTAL KOMBAT LEGENDS: BATTLE OF THE REALMS. Does it live up to Scorpions Revenge? Joe and Brian talk about THE ALPINIST which dropped in theaters for one night last week. In TV Brian and Joe talk about BRAND NEW CHERRY FLAVOR on NETFLIX. THE CIRCLE Season 3 has dropped on Netflix as well as the new metal art competition show METAL SHOP MASTERS. We all watched SUPERSTAR JOHN RITTER on ABC/Hulu. FROGGER from Peacock hopped onto the service and I feel gross that I just used the word “hopped” in that sentence. It's so gross. It's not funny or cute. Anyway, did we like a competition game show that's based on an 80's video game where no one is playing a video game? And we discuss what we've seen so far of THE CIRCLE Season 3. In News Y: THE LAST MAN showrunner Eliza Clark reveals how many seasons of the show she'd like to see. In Marvel News we talk about SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME rumors, when does ETERNALS take place and more.
This week, Schmee and Riker watch an old favorite of both fans, The Mindy Project (ABC/Hulu), with just the pilot episode, "Pilot." We discuss how effectively the first episode established the genre for the show, introduced the characters, presented the plot for the season/series to come, and hooked us to watch more.

Wendy, always remember my kids are no different than yours, when you speak of me, you can bet it's affecting them. So minimize the risk by keeping it nice! But the most disturbing part of all is; by you supporting @bravotv paying millions to criminals, for the purpose of Entertainment, well that's all on you. The words and actions on your show, spill and potentially hurt all the families & children the horrifying crimes targeted and ultimately destroyed their financial security, safety, & trust! Be a part of the difference not a part of the problem! @abcnews @nightline @hulu Thank you ABC Hulu and Nightline for the opportunity to speak my truth and be Heard! Learn more about your ad choices.
