OnTime Capsule Episode 401, Sonequa Martin Green, as she revisits her evolution as the resilient Captain Burnham in "Star Trek: Discovery," facing the emotional challenges of playing an older version of her character due to a narrative twist involving a "time bug." Doug Jones adds dimension with his reflections on playing Saru and the complexities of portraying familial relationships amidst the backdrop of rebuilding the Federation. I then pay tribute to Herbert Wright, fondly remembered as the father of the Ferengi, reminiscing about the visionary Gene Roddenberry's influence on "Star Trek: The Next Generation." Our conversation then shifts as we engage with Radha Mitchell, discussing her role in the film "Sacrifice," and exploring how her character's journey through mystery and emotional rawness drew her into the project. Richard Harmon brings us tales from "The 100" Season 4, delving into Murphy's uncertain path and the character dynamics that keep the narrative unpredictable and his own survival surprising yet believable. Lastly, "The Walking Dead" stalwarts Greg Nicotero, Gale Anne Hurd, and Angela Kang gather to discuss the series' lasting impact, its exploration of hope amid apocalypse. Here we are at the end of something that, for the last eleven years, has brought a lot of joy, and yes some heartbreak to a lot of fans lives. The Walking Dead has been a tradition for a lot of peoples' Sundays for a long time now, even if some of those Sundays left us with tears in our eyes. The Walking Dead has come to an end, and we're here to talk about the very last episode of the series. ""Rest in Peace" is the series finale of the post-apocalyptic horror television series The Walking Dead. The twenty-fourth episode of the eleventh season and the 177th episode overall, it aired on AMC on November 20, 2022, and was simultaneously released on the streaming platform AMC+. The episode's teleplay was written by Corey Reed and Jim Barnes, from a story by Angela Kang, and directed by Greg Nicotero." Eleven seasons is a lot to catch up on, if somehow you've made it this far and haven't seen any The Walking Dead. BUT, if you're a zombie fan, this is definitely a must watch. It really did reinvigorate the zombie genre in a lot of fans' eyes, and has weaved together so many amazing stories. This last episode is the bow at the end of the series. Whether it closes all of the threads is up for the debate because there are still spinoffs that are coming from this series, but it feels like a pretty good ending to this epic series! MCU – MARVEL STUDIOS Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Pushes Disney Over $3 Billion at Box Office for the Year https://comicbook.com/movies/news/black-panther-wakanda-forever-pushes-disney-over-3-billion-at-box-office-for-the-year/ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is already one of the biggest hits of the year. The film is being greeted with great reviews and a tremendous response from audiences with an 84% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an A CinemaScore. Now, it seems that the sequel has another accolade to place under its belt. After Wakanda Forever's massive $381 million debut, Disney has officially passed $3 billion at the box office for the year. This marks the 14th year that the studio has hit that milestone, and it passes last years $2.9 billion total. The film combined with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, Lightyear, and Death on the Nile all contributed to the final number. Thunderbolts Will Drop a Bomb on the Marvel Cinematic Universe https://gizmodo.com/thunderbolts-david-harbour-mcu-movie-1849776448 Marvel's antihero team-up Thunderbolts is reuniting an oddball family, as David Harbour's Red Guardian and Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova join forces again and build on their complicated relationship established in 2021's Black Widow. Although he has not yet received a script for the Marvel Cinematic Universe project, Harbour spoke to io9 while on the press tour for his new holiday movie, Violent Night, and shared that he knows "the arc of the movie and how it functions...and it's super cool. The idea is really cool." The actor, best known for his role in Stranger Things, then expressed his excitement about working with Pugh again. "What [director Jake Schreier] wants to do with Florence's character is very interesting and how I factor into how we develop our relationship is very interesting," he said. Their troubled father-daughter dynamic was teased in Black Widow, but Harbour hints that it will be explored even further in "this movie that's, you know, kind of ragtag." ‘Wakanda Forever' Costume Designer Ruth Carter on Film's New Water Sets: ‘I Had to Weigh Costumes Down so They Wouldn't Float' https://variety.com/2022/artisans/awards/wakanda-forever-black-panther-costume-design-production-design-cinematography-ruth-carter-1235429898/ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever costume designer Ruth E. Carter and production designer Hannah Beachler revealed that the film's costumes required weights for its underwater scenes. In an interview with Variety, Carter shared that since a good portion of the film takes place in the undersea city of Talokan, the crew had to test how the costumes they designed interacted with the water. Weights were eventually added to the outfits to ensure they looked as intended under the ocean. "For the water scenes, we had a 20-foot tank in which we did tests," Carter said. "Divers went down in the water and I had to put them in costumes that included headdresses and capes, just to see what those costumes would do in water, and I ended up putting weights in." Captain America 4 Starts Shooting in Spring 2023 https://www.cbr.com/captain-america-4-spring-2023-shoot/ Marvel Studios VP of Production & Development Nate Moore recently revealed that Captain America: New World Order will start shooting in Spring 2023. Moore discussed the upcoming sequel in an interview with Collider, confirming that it will be his next Marvel Studios project following the release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. He added that pre-production is already underway on the fourth entry in the Captain America franchise, and responded in the affirmative when asked if he was happy with the movie's script. Marvel's Thunderbolts Reportedly Starts Production Next Summer https://www.cbr.com/thunderbolts-starts-shooting-june-2023-mcu/ Marvel Studios will reportedly begin production on its upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Thunderbolts, in mid-2023. Following the recent announcement that Captain America: New World Order will begin filming in Spring 2023, industry scooper Daniel RPK revealed that Thunderbolts will kick off production shortly after the Captain America sequel in June 2023. Both films are currently scheduled to be released in 2024 as part of Phase 5 of the MCU. Merriam-Webster dictionary took to their own Twitter account to reveal the news. "NEW EDITION of the SCRABBLE DICTIONARY." The official Scrabble account wrote on Twitter. "Now you can play: BAE, VAX, HYGGE, ZONKEY, VAQUITA, EMBIGGEN." Daredevil: Born Again Reportedly Aiming for a TV-MA Rating https://www.cbr.com/daredevil-born-again-tv-ma-rating-report-mcu/ Daredevil: Born Again, the upcoming soft-reboot of Netflix and Marvel's Daredevil series, will be going after the equivalent of television's R rating, according to an industry insider. "Is Daredevil gonna be TV-MA?" a fan on Twitter asked of industry insider Daniel Ricthman. Richtman, a proven source of reliable leaks, gave a simple, one-word reply: "Likely." This revelation should please fans of the original show. The former Daredevil series stands out from typical Marvel fare with its gritty, realistic depiction of violence and the physical and emotional toll being Daredevil puts on Matt Murdock, the man behind the mask. A TV-MA rating should allow the showrunners to push Daredevil: Born Again even further. Daredevil's Deborah Ann Woll Still Hasn't Been Asked to Join Born Again https://www.cbr.com/daredevils-deborah-ann-woll-still-hasnt-been-asked-to-join-born-again/ Daredevil star Deborah Ann Woll has confirmed that she still hasn't been asked to feature in Daredevil: Born Again, a reboot of the Netflix show. On an episode of the Inside of You podcast hosted by Michael Rosenbaum, Woll revealed that she hasn't received any calls from the makers of the Daredevil reboot. "So, as of now, I am not a part of it," the actor confirmed. Woll starred as Karen Page, Matt Murdock's secretary and love interest on the Netflix show that was canceled after three seasons. Woll shared that she would be "thrilled" to be on the show and felt like there was more for her character to explore. "They know where I am. Like I said, I love the character Karen Page. I love telling that story. But it is up to them what kind of story that they want to tell," she added. Karen Page was an integral part of all three seasons of Daredevil and played a significant role in Matt Murdock's life. AGATHA: COVEN OF CHAOS: MORE STORY DETAILS REVEALED: EXCLUSIVE https://www.theilluminerdi.com/2022/11/17/agatha-coven-of-chaos-details/ Agatha: Coven of Chaos may be at least partially set in Westview, NJ -- the same town where WandaVision took place. The story was broken by the Illuminerdi, who reported that Agatha: Coven of Chaos will return to Westview. According to the site, "The show seemingly picks up where WandaVision left off, as Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) will be freed from Wanda's spell, which imprisoned her in her Westview persona, Agnes. Most interestingly our sources stated that she is freed by a new Coven of Witches. Aubrey Plaza is one of them and according to some casting details it can be assumed that Ali Ahn is also part of them." MCU – TIMELINE Will the MCU Ever End? Marvel Studios VP Nate Moore Responds https://www.cbr.com/will-mcu-end-marvel-studios-vp-nate-moore/ Marvel Studios' Vice President of Production and Development Nate Moore doesn't see the Marvel Cinematic Universe ending any time soon. Speaking on The Town with Matthew Belloni podcast, Moore believes that the franchise can continue on for "a long time," insisting that the creative teams behind the MCU still have plenty of stories to tell. "To me, Marvel movies are just movies," said the filmmaker. "Our source material is just… It'd be like saying, 'Hey, are movies about books gonna go on forever?' Probably." Despite this confidence, Moore elaborated by emphasizing that Marvel Studios can't rest easy with the established formula. "I think we have to continue to… We can't sit back on our laurels. We can't think we have the answers. We have to continue to push the envelope as far as genre and what we're willing to explore." This interview with the wonderful Ross Marquand (Aaron) happened all because of The Sexton Single Malt and their brand new Walking-Dead-branded bottle of single malt Irish whiskey, which Ross is helping them promote and which you can pre-order right here: https://www.reservebar.com/products/the-sexton-single-malt-x-the-walking-dead-limited-edition Highly recommend checking that out! As always, it was awesome to talk with Ross. It was a quick interview, but we managed to cover some interesting topics like: What current-day Aaron would say to early Aaron. What it was like to film the intense late-season-10 episode “One More” with Gabriel and Mays (Robert Patrick). Whether he asked Angela Kang to change or add anything for Aaron. Whether his prosthetic arm comes off and on easily or needs to stay on all day during filming? How he's feeling now the the end of The Walking Dead is in sight, and how he thinks he's going to feel at the very end. And more! As a wise doctor once said, "we're in the endgame now." Particularly when it comes to The Walking Dead. The eleventh and final season of the iconic, groundbreaking show is set to premiere from Monday 23rd August as a STAR exclusive on Disney+, and that is an occasion so momentous that, once again, the Empire Podcast and Pilot TV Podcast teams have joined forces with STAR on Disney+ to talk about it. So, in this very special crossover episode, Chris Hewitt, James Dyer, and Beth Webb pop into the virtual podbooth for an in-depth discussion about their hopes, fears, and dreams for the final season. Who will survive, and what will be left of them? And what about the characters on the show? But that's not all. In an exclusive interview, James sits down across Zoom with Angela Kang, the show's producer and co-writer of Acheron Part I and Acheron Part II, the first two episodes of this 24-episode run, and they have a conversation about sticking the landing. So sit back, relax, and enjoy.

Angela and Anny share how they created Subtle Asian Traits, what goes behind moderating the group, their current and future plans. They discuss the importance of representation and how although the Asian diaspora share similar values, there are still differences amongst the group. Subtle Asian Traits was created in September 2018 after seeing the gap in the internet for a place where all Asians could personally share their shared experiences in a light-hearted format without judgement. As a group of friends who met at a weekend language school we always had Asian related jokes about our unique shared experiences that we would share together. We saw there had been plenty of asian pages but they all had a feeling of disconnectedness, nothing like the intimacy a group page could offer. We felt that this page would provide us with a sense of confidence for once in our lives, safe from any judgement by others. We wanted a place where we could openly discuss our different upbringings and instead of burying it away, and finally do the opposite, to be proud of it.
