The news that Feige would helm a Star Wars film broke in 2019, with Loki writer Michael Waldron being signed on in 2021.  A vote last Friday brought a tentative agreement between the majority of SAG-AFTRA's National Board and the studio CEO's of the AMPTP, ending the 118-day actors strike. The guild stated that the total package is valued at more than $1 billion in new wages and benefit plan funding. The 80-page summary of the agreement is not yet public, but was made available to guild members on November 13. Ratification voting for the 160,000 plus members of SAG-AFTRA runs from November 14 through the first week of December.  Sony released the first trailer for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, which is set for theatrical release on March 29, 2024. Gil Kenan directs the follow-up to Jason Reitman‘s 2021 movie, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which helped give the series new life. Disney released a trailer for upcoming Pixar film Inside Out 2. The trailer for the sequel introduces a new emotion: Anxiety. Inside Out 2 is set to release in theaters on June 14, 2024, almost nine years after the first film. The first trailer for The Garfield Movie has been released. Chicken Little and Emperor's New Groove director Mark Dindal is the director and the film has a script written by David Reynolds, known for Finding Nemo. The film, which stars Chris Pratt, Hannah Waddingham, Nicholas Hoult, and Samuel L. Jackson in voiceover roles will hit theaters on February 16, 2024. The trailer dropped for Mean Girls. The musical movie is based on the 2018 Broadway musical, which is based on the 2004 movie, which is based on the 2002 book Queen Bees and Wannabees. Reacher Season 2 has an official premiere date at Amazon Prime Video, with the streamer also dropping the first trailer for the new season of the popular series. Netflix released The first full trailer for Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire. The film begins streaming on December 22. The long-awaited live-action series version of Avatar: The Last Airbender from Netflix revealed its first teaser trailer. The first, eight-episode season will premiere sometime in 2024. Netflix has dropped its first trailer for Damsel, an epic fantasy film starring Millie Bobby Brown, Robin Wright, and Angela Bassett. The film is set to hit Netflix sometime in 2024. We also got a first look at upcoming anime spinoff The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep. The film is expected to arrive on Netflix sometime in late 2024.

Sis has finally finished her audio book The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern (which she definitely recommends) and started listening to another called The Overstory by Richard Powers. She is still watching her guy play Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on switch and is enjoying Adventure Time. Then, Pops shares his pull list! And while we're reeling from all of this behind-the-scenes news, Marvel announced the return of Liv Tyler will appear in Captain America: New World Order, reprising her role as Betty Ross, from 2008's The Incredible Hulk; a writer's room is working on the WandaVision spin-off Vision Quest, and thank God we finally have a release date of June 21st for Secret Invasion on Disney Plus.  Then turning to rumors,  Sacha Baron Cohen is rumored to appear in three Marvel Projects as Mephisto. Deadline confirmed news that Warner Brothers is working to apply the cinematic universe idea to the Lord of the Rings franchise, which would involve rebooting the trilogy of movies. While not directly involved, director Peter Jackson has offered encouraging words about the future of the franchise. John Wick Chapter 4 achieves the best opening weekend ever for the franchise with an incredible $70 million opening weekend. This is encouraging news for movie theaters after still feeling the effects from COVID-19 shut downs. There are also talks that the spin-off movie “Ballerina,” starring Ana de Armas will release in 2024, with a spin-off series “The Continental” releasing on Peacock this year, according to Fandango. Amid the entire shakeup of DC, Shazam: Fury of the Gods opened with a fairly low box office weekend of just $30 million, With a Rotten Tomato critic score of 51% but a much more respectable 87% Audience score.  Could this be the new standard for the remaining old guard DCEU movies while we await the emergence of James Gunn's DCU . The film is coupled with rumors that Shazam actor Zachary Levi and Black Adam actor Dwayne Johnson have issues working together, with Levi backing reports that Johnson blocked any use of the Shazam character in the Black Adam movie.
