Over the course of our lives, we receive so much messaging like we should go to college to give ourselves the best chance for success, or we should be married by the time we are 30. We also build belief systems about ourselves and our own capabilities. Sometimes our belief systems prevent us from feeling worthy or capable of achieving success. When we gain awareness that we have become our greatest barrier, and we work towards a greater sense of self-realization, it puts us in alignment with our higher self and our true calling. If we are not feeding our own needs and desires (in a positive way) we deprive ourselves of reaching our potential. Our guest in this episode, Brandon Cooper, had a similar belief system that limited him at times in his life. But through his dedication to seek a deeper connection to his true calling, he learned how to be positively selfish.Wires - Binaural Beats and Other Self-Meditation Sound on Amazon.comwww.linkedin.com/in/cooperbrandon/

From the Workforce Wire Podcast: Youth activism has been on the rise throughout the past two decades, but COVID-19 accelerated engagement among youth in our nation. According to CNN, although the pandemic has led to community lockdowns and increased isolation among youth, “Young Americans, in particular, are showing commitment to a pragmatic center of policy priorities: affordable health care for all, environmental sustainability, international cooperation, civil rights and economic justice. Despite their current isolation, most young Americans embrace empathetic leadership and they are devoted to serving their communities.” Join us in this episode of the The Workforce Wire while we discuss this with Brandon Cooper, Richard Elliott and Janna Parker, three activists that have been using their voice to make a difference in our community, their pathway to becoming leading voices of activism in Maryland and if this is a pathway that will lead them to pubic office.

The Environmental Protection Agency is currently coordinating the cleanup of a massive stockpile of toxic and hazardous waste inside and around a deteriorating former Ogden meatpacking plant. Ogden City purchased the property from the owner of Smith and Edwards, an iconic military surplus retailer, with plans to revitalize the site as a mixed-use manufacturing and outdoor recreation destination. But as the full scope of the chemical and material hazards on site becomes known, questions remain about the buildings potential environmental and financial impact on residents and taxpayers. On this week’s episode of Trib Talk, Leia Larsen, a journalist with the Utah Investigative Journalism Project and Brandon Cooper, Ogden City’s deputy director of community and economic development, join Tribune reporter Benjamin Wood to discuss the ongoing cleanup of hazardous waste at the Swift Building and whether city officials were adequately and appropriately aware of the property’s contents at the time of its purchase. My old friend, Pastor Brandon Cooper (Cityview Community Church) joins me to discuss what makes the Christian worldview stand out from all the rest. We get into metaphysics, the exclusive claims of Christianity and Pluralism, Hinduism, eschatology, and why the biblical Gospel is truly unique. If you're a Christian, this will help you articulate and defend what you believe. If you're not, it will challenge your assumptions and encourage you to entertain new ideas you perhaps hadn't considered. Either way, I hope it makes you think. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/the-think-podcast/message
