In this episode of Kliq This, Kevin Nash and Sean Oliver take a no-holds-barred deep dive into the spectacle that was Tyson vs. Paul at WrestleMania 41. From dissecting the buildup and hype surrounding the fight to breaking down the controversial exhibition bout, Kevin shares his candid thoughts on the in-ring action (or lack thereof), the rumored backstage dealings, and whether the event delivered on its promise—or fell flat. The duo doesn't stop at boxing, branching out into broader discussions about combat sports and entertainment. Kevin shares stories from his own wrestling career, comparing the event's drama to iconic moments in professional wrestling. They also address fan reactions, streaming frustrations, and the increasingly blurred lines between real and staged competitions in today's sports world. On the lighter side, the guys explore unexpected moments of humor and nostalgia, including wardrobe throwbacks, social media shout-outs, and Kevin's ongoing health journey with alternative therapies. Packed with laughs, insight, and the signature Kliq This banter, this episode is a must-listen for fans of boxing, wrestling, and everything in between. Happy New Year! I don't know about you folks, but our resolution here at Let's Go to the Ring is to never watch WCW's Bash at the Beach 1999 again. Why? Two words: Junkyard Invitational. Plus: Piper vs. Bagwell in a boxing match evidently plotted by someone who'd never actually watched a boxing match to its conclusion, Nash and Sting vs. Savage and Sid in a match where Sting can, somehow, win Nash's world title - don't worry, I'm sure WCW will give a logical explanation at some point on the show - and some of the lengthiest video packages since a cowboy explained the Bunkhouse Stampede. For all this and more, let's go to the ring! Music by Michael Gary Brewer at https://www.instantmusicnow.com/ Follow us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/LetsGo2theRing/

Browns lost again. Kanye West's Instagram and Twitter accounts locked over antisemitic posts. Video shows Draymond Green violently punch Jordan Poole at Warriors practice. Duji is walking around during the show. Woman wants advice because her boyfriend might have slept with her friend.
This week on the program Kev and Sean get into all kinds of topics including RAW reactions, throwing dildos, Detroit pizza, Shane Douglas workout tips, the trials and tribulations of Ron Jeremy, and fake breasts. Well, had to blow a lot of dust off this one, as we are going back to Jim Crockett Productions for the 1988 Bunkhouse Stampede. The good news? We have Dusty Rhodes in all his glory prominently featured. The bad? Well, despite being only two hours, there was not much wrestling on the show, especially in the Nikita Koloff-Bobby Eaton match. BUT LARRY ZBYSZKO, THIS IS ANGELO INGLISA CALLING YOU OUT FOR THE WESTERN STATES HERITAGE CHAMPIONSHIP. Two And A Half Marks is not affiliated with the WWE/WWF/WCW/TNA/AEW/any promotion or any of the professional wrestlers named in this podcast. Yee haw! This was a Dusty Rhodes creation all the way, inspired by the old west days of farmhands getting into fights at the bunkhouse. However, this show with a southern theme took place in Uniondale, New York...which is clearly well known for their cowboys. The rules of the match were "simple". You come as you are and you eliminate your opponents by throwing them out of a cage. Weird, right? Wait until you hear the Marks (Troy & Greg) lay this one out for you. There are also 3 other good matches on this card and one abysmal opener. It's bonus show time again, and Jacob Grondy, from Curtain Jerkin' on WrestlingWithWrestling.com is back! It was the first official Royal Rumble in WWE history. It was on USA Network; not on pay-per-view, the Royal Rumble match was a 20-man match, and it was made entirely to counter-program the NWA's Bunkhouse Stampede pay-per-view. The Rumble match wasn't even the marquee thing at the event; Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant's contract signing for the WWF Title match at Saturday Night's Main Event was THE big segment on the show. On top of this, the show was held in Ontario, Canada while half the roster was in British Columbia on the other side of the country, holding a house show. In this edition of Retro Wrestling Podcast Patrick and Alex discuss the controversy surrounding the WWE and its desire to have their independent contractors cease all content creation outside of WWE endorsed platforms, we mention the handful of recent WWE departures, and briefly chat about the new change in character for Roman Reigns. Then, we review an old episode of World Championship Wrestling from 1986 where Bullet Bob Armstrong teams up with his son to take on Bill Dundee and Jimmy Garvin as Jim Crockett Promotions was prepping for their upcoming Bunkhouse Stampede matches. The review starts at 33:52.
Once upon a time, a lone cowboy, accompanied only by soothing guitar music, spoke of a legendary match hidden in the mists of time. It haunted us. The whispers, or rather loudspeaker announcements, kept it in our memories. Now, at last, we face it: The Bunkhouse Stampede. 8 men battle for glory (and loads of money). But before that: three title matches! Can Bobby Eaton defeat Nikita Koloff for the TV Title? Can Larry Zbyszko claim the magnificent Western States Heritage Title from Barry Windham? And will one half of the Scorpihawks, Road Warrior Hawk, triumph over Ric Flair to become World Champ? (And...where is the other half of the Scorpihawks, anyway?) For all this and more, let's go to the ring! We'll be back with our newest episode tomorrow, but before that, a quick announcement. Unfortunately, John has told us that he needs to withdraw from regular appearances as a host on the show. John very kindly finished out the Starrcade run with us, and he's always welcome back - it's been a lot of fun going through the Starrcades with him and we'd love to see him return for more, even if it's just for an episode here or there. Al and Bob will be back tomorrow with a look at Bunkhouse Stampede '88. Scorpihawks forever, John!
Joey looks at Vince McMahon's answer to the Bunkhouse Stampede being on PPV with the first televised Royal Rumble on the USA network. A grammar lesson, a bench press record, a contract signing and the first Rumble are among the highlights. Joey also issues a Mea Culpa and talks about the Mandela Effect.
Host Mad Dog Butch is joined by special guest Q to discuss the NWA's 1988 Bunkhouse Stampede.
Joey looks at his first JCP offering, The Bunkhouse Stampede '88. The Western States Heritage Championship is tainted for Joey, The Barbarian gets jumped from behind, and Joey needs to drink more water.
Ep 15 - Bunkhouse Stampede 1988 by Wrestling History X
Chad and Parv talk about Bunkhouse Stampede 88. In this show: Chad talks about how he’s basically “the mini Big Boss Man”, some discussion of how tv ratings and PPV buyrates worked in the late 80s, evaluation of the roster at this time and how signing Ted DiBiase and Curt Hennig might have helped Crockett, Larry Zbyszko’s ultimate ambition in life: to win the Western States Heritage title!, young Jim Ross’s intense hyperbole, Chad rants about why Road Warrior Hawk is an idiot and Parv explains why he hates the Road Warriors in general, the mythical book of wrestling records, arguably the worst 10 minutes in wrestling broadcast history, why can’t the Warlord’s arms bend?, after 20 shows Chad finally lays into Dusty’s massive ego, comparison with Royal Rumble 88, and end of show awards.

The Bunkhouse Stampede Finals was the fourth Bunkhouse Stampede professional wrestling event produced by Jim Crockett Promotions under the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) banner. It was the only Bunkhouse Stampede event to air as a pay-per-view (PPV) event. The event took place on January 24, 1988 from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. The event comprised four professional wrestling matches that involved wrestlers from pre-existing rivalries, plots and storylines that were played out on Worldwide, Pro and World Championship Wrestling–Jim Crockett Promotions (JCP)'s television programs. Wrestlers portrayed a hero, villain or a tweener as they followed a series of events that built tension which culminated in a wrestling match or a series of matches. This week on the show… Professor Chabelo Vera Cruz flies solo here and dissects this event with the persistence of a Ninja who went to medical school! Come and jump into our time machine, turn on those VCR's, roll up the sleeves on your Member’s Only jacket, dab some Dippity Do hair gel and some Aqua Net, splash on some Brute, grab your Motorola brick phone and call all your friends to join us for a trip down memory lane! On this episode of HDTGB comedian Kevin Tobin joins Jake & Zane to discuss the Jim Crockett Promotions PPV that drove the first nail in the coffin for the promotion, Bunkhouse Stampede 1988. So it’s only fitting that we start this episode off with a discussion about dead bodies & horse racing. Kevin grew up a loyal WWF fan mostly because he grew up in Ireland and NWA & WCW didn't broadcast there. So, get a rare glimpse into a person first exposure to Vince McMahon's fiercest rival in 1988.As always for corrections tweet at Jake @manscoutmanning or email him at Jake@SSLShow.com. Whoops Sorry Spoiler • Was it me or Did the Living Legend get really excited after winning Western States Title? • And Baby Doll was a Perfect 10 in 1988. She will be at WrestleCon 2019. Crockett era fans (and even those later WCW fans who want to learn more of their wrestling history) can rejoice as Tony and Conrad dive into one of the most crucial events in wrestling history, the 1988 Bunkhouse Stampede. You have Flair vs. Hawk, Eaton vs. Koloff, and the finals of the main event: A come as you are battle royal-esque cage match where anything goes. But the real story was behind the scenes as Crockett and WWF were maneuvering and strategizing against each other, and this event was in many ways the most crucial battleground, with one decisive winner. You know it won't be all serious, because this is Conrad and Tony, who can make any subject fun as you will see yet again, on What Happened When?....... Mondays!
