Jeff was up north in Canton to be a part of Tony Boselli's Hall of Fame induction, so he REALLY missed out - Capt. Kirk was back!It was great to have him back in the studio, and it was a perfect time to come back, because First Coast fishing is SOOOOOOOOO good! Capt. Kevin, Capt. Kirk and special guest Capt. Rich Gray talked all about what's happening in the water.Fishing wasn't the only topic of conversation, however. Bow season is coming, and the guys had a lot of great stuff to talk about as they get ready to let some arrows fly. Finally, Jeff did call in to share everything happening in Canton. Really cool stuff...Here's your L.V. Hiers gear tip of the week: Get yourself an arrow puller from Strike-Zone Fishing Jacksonville. The perfect tool to use when you're practicing. Here's your Ring Power CAT tip of the week from Captain Kevin: There are a lot of big kingfish on the beach. The big females are spawning right now on the beach. If possible when you catch a 25 plus… let her go. Most of those big fish will become docile after they fight. Grab her by the tail, take a quick picture and gently let her go! Bodes well for the future! Here's your Kirbyco Builders Inc. cooking tip of the week: Always need ziplocs to put fresh fish or venison in. Captain Kirk buys in bulk. 250 count $30 on Amazon.
Join the guys as they discuss Chase Young's chances of 20 sack season, Commanders New Fight Song, Sportz and Thingz trivia, and much more!!!

Jeff was a lucky man this week: the Jags were in London, but due to restrictions, he didn't have to fly across the pond. Next, the London game lined up perfectly with the first day of gun in Georgia. So, as a result, he didn't make it to the studio. Surprise, surprise. But never fear...Capt. Scott was here! Capt. Scott Shank stepped up and joined Capt. Kevin and Capt. Kirk to crank up the fishing talk like nobody's business. And if that wasn't enough, Capt. Scott unwittingly served as the catalyst for creating a new OS term - listen to find out what it means to "get shanked".Here's your L.V. Hiers gear tip of the week: The Bulls are running good Right now so be sure to have a good venting needle. Here's your Ring Power CAT tip of the week: I know we do this about every year this time but now is the time to dedicate a few trail cams to scrapes. Right now the bucks are marking their territory. One tip is don't put the camera too close to the scrape. Do your best to hide it!Here's your Kirbyco Builders Inc. cooking tip of the week:Capt Kirk's BBQ Venison MedallionsIngredients:1 pkg of pork shoulder 2 1/4 lbs diced 2in pieces2 Vidalia onions3 cups of ketchup2 tbs garlic powder2 tbs of Worcestershire sauce1/4 cup of brown sugar2 teaspoons of mustard (Frenchs)1 cup of flour1 cup corn starch1/4 cup of peanut oilPreparation:Slice, cut up onion, and sauté the onion in tbs of oil.... place off to side. In what has become a ping-ponging of women's Constitutionally protected right to an abortion, the conservative 5th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the Texas law banning almost all abortions. The decision puts the case on a direct pathway back to the U.S. Supreme Court. Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema say they are ready to tank Biden's Build Back Better plan on the grounds that it's too hard on fossil fuel corporations; that it expands Medicare to include dental, vision, and hearing coverage; that it provides for tuition-free community college; and, generally, that everything isn't means tested. At least that's what Manchin laid out. Sinema seems just pissed that HER piece of legislation, the bi-partisan fossil fuel infrastructure bill, is not getting voted on first. 10,000 UAW workers went on strike against John Deere. The strike comes after workers rejected a tentative agreement by about 90% on Sunday. Workers say the two-tier employee system which would hurt newly hired workers was a non-starter. Now that's some solidarity for ya. 60,000 IATSE, International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, workers will begin a strike on Monday if no significant agreement is reached. 98% of IATSE members voted in favor of a strike over issues of an increased minimum wage, humane working hours, and fair pay for work on streaming programming. These job actions join the 1,400 workers at Kellogg's plants who went on strike on October 5 and close to 30,000 workers at Kaiser Permanente in California and Oregon have overwhelmingly passed their strike authorization. #Striketober anyone? Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro launched his 2022 gubernatorial campaign in Pittsburgh and Montgomery County this week. The Attorney General has essentially clearled the field of any challengers by gaining the endorsements of progressives and moderate Democrats throughout the Commonwealth. Ashley Ehasz becomes the first Democrat to throw their hat in the ring to try to unseat Brian Fitzpatrick in the PA01. Ehasz is an army vet who's campaign launch video focused on her anger that the American Dream is out of reach for so many. Her campaign announcement has spurred critical discussion about the political future of Bucks County and the whole of the #PA01. Sean Parnell, the Trump endorsed candidate for US Senate, went to court to try and place a “sweeping gag order” against his ex-wife. Parnell's wife filed two PFA's against Sean Parnell in 2017 and 2018. Some are saying that this can be a liability for his campaign. Scott Wagner was in the news again this week. On the third anniversary of his epic meltdown underneath a billboard on the side of a highway, Wagner stated that he will pledge $1.5 million to a PAC supporting Jeff Bartos if Bartos gets through the primary. The Lincoln Project put Pennsylvania's right-wing billionaire Jeffrey Yass on blast this week. The group put together a 30 second ad detailing how Yass uses his money and a web of political action committees to spread disinformation to Pennsylvania's voters. The group also highlighted a campaign finance complaint filed by Pennsylvania Spotlight & asked viewers to call Attorney General Josh Shapiro and demand action from the complaint. KU Activists are holding a protest on Tuesday, October 19 from 10:30 - noon at the Alumni Plaza to advocate for the rights of disabled students, faculty, and staff. Nearly 30 of the trusts held assets connected to people or companies accused of fraud, bribery or human rights abuses in some of the world's most vulnerable communities.” Bernie Sanders is pretty much done with coddling Joe Manchin. Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Oculus all go down the day after Frances Haugen, a former Facebook employee turned whistleblower appeared on 60 Minutes and spilled the beans on Facebook ignoring its own research that its platform was causing real-world damage to democracy and well-being. And a great piece in In These Times, discusses a new report from Democratic Party consultants that shows evidence that the fate of the Democratic Party is intimately tied to the decline of union power. Whatever the confluence of unfortunate events that caused those on board the Mary Celeste to abandon her, one can surmise two possible final fates for them: either they perished in a maelstrom of sudden violence, or they died a languishing death of attrition. These two perils every sailor must acknowledge for the sea is a merciless mistress, but too cruel to imagine for the likes of a mother and child. If you wish to contemplate the mystery of the Mary Celeste, you would do well to remember the saying, the sea does not give up her secrets and as we've seen, she will often not part with her dead. The mysterious disappearance of ten souls would not be the last of the misfortune to befall the ill-fated Mary Celeste. Insurance fraud, lost revenue, madness, and suicide would all become dreadful notches in the gunwale of her sad history, along with the premature deaths of three of her captains. The Mary Celeste is perhaps the most famous case of a "ghost ship." However, when it was discovered adrift on December 5, 1872, no ghosts were found nor any human form for that matter, not Captain Briggs, his wife, his two-year-old daughter, nor the seven crew members. They remain forever missing. But what caused them to vanish? Theories range from seaquakes to hazardous cargo, to a giant squid attack, and even aliens... yes, aliens. We're not saying it was aliens because we'd rather believe it was a giant squid. No matter what it was, the ship may have been doomed from the start, when seafaring superstitions were broken. Tonight's Quote: “The craft seemed possessed of the Devil to begin with, but where she got it I don’t know. I am sure it couldn’t have been from any of our good people.” — Dr. John W.
