Todd Terry: I began acting at 16, discovering it as a therapeutic way to express my emotions. Although I was baptized at eight, my true encounter with God came later, during high school at a Christian camp. Despite drifting from God, His faithfulness was unwavering. My spiritual transformation deepened in my late 20s, through the guidance of my pastor and the challenges in my relationship with my wife, who introduced me to the profound peace found in Christ. This journey shifted my focus in acting towards faith-based projects like *Beyond the Farthest Star* and *Vindication*, which opened doors to meaningful roles that reflect my walk with Christ.

THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY of the debut of The Animated Series more or less coincides with Trek Marry Kill's 1ST ANNIVERSARY, and so to celebrate both, Bryan has decided to remove this podcast's original sin of holding the animated shows off to the side by fully embracing them with the first of what will be monthly special episodes dedicated to animated episodes. Joining him for the first special episode is Laurie Ulster of TrekMovie.com, who hosts the All Access Podcast on that network. She also copy edited Star Trek: The Official Guide to the Animated Series, an awesome reference guide for this Emmy-nominated Saturday morning cartoon that's not "just" a cartoon -- it's animated Star Trek! This month, the first two episodes of the series. One written by the same guy who wrote the first episode of The Original Series and the other written by D.C. Fontana, perhaps the second-most important writer in franchise history after Gene Roddenberry. Hear about Bryan's chance encounter with her back in 2016. The grades begin at (22:15). "Yesteryear" discussion begins at (48:23). This episode features some old promos for which you can see here on YouTube. One of those promos is an old "Keep America Beautiful" PSA. Our theme is "70's Synth Funk Jam" by Phill_Dillow on Pixabay. We also use a snippet from Luis Humanoide from Pixabay's "Space Fleet" during our bridge. If you're liking the show, consider rating us five stars on Apple Podcasts or wherever you listen.
Join Lieutenant Commander Rebecca Frost, noted Space Show fan Admiral Kerry Jackson as they continue their voyage through all things Star Trek! In the first one, Vicky thinks that they find a new planet. Unfortunately she was way off and the second she thinks of the enterprises pass is going to come after them. This is the second or third time she's thought of this, and she is surprised yet again.

When a new father searches through his childhood books for stories to tell his daughter, he learns that some of those books are linked to a hundred-year-old mystery. Genre: Mystery, Fantasy Excerpt: For generations, for nearly a century, the Rofotou family had been gathering the pieces of a puzzle that they believed would unlock some grand secret of the universe, or some extravagant treasure, or at least some profound piece of wisdom. But I didn't know anything about that before a dark-haired woman named Red came knocking on my door one day. I didn't know why she asked to see my old dream logs. And I certainly didn't know what any of it had to do with Mrs. Highweather. While exploring the outer reaches of the galaxy, the Enterprise encounters a derelict alien starship that's more than 300 million years old. It's completely lifeless, save for one alien entity that hijacks the Enterprise in an effort to take it back to a more populated sector of the galaxy. "Beyond the Farthest Star" earned its place in "Star Trek" history by being the first episode of "The Animated Series," which aired on September 8, 1973 (seven years to the day after the original "Star Trek" series made its network TV debut). This new show may look different and be only half as long, but it was still very much a true "Star Trek" series that featured great writing, a worthy new theme song and, of course, the voices of William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley and almost everyone else from "The Original Series." The Hubble Space Telescope has managed to obtain an image of the farthest star ever known, at 12.9 billion light years away. NASA researchers have just shared an image of their record-breaking discovery from the Hubble Telescope. The image shows a red arc in a distant part of our universe. In the midst of that red arc, they discovered a star. The light from that star is so old, NASA says this Hubble image shows us the farthest star ever seen. They've called it Earendel. In this episode of Hometown Stories, NASA Astrophysicist Dr. Padi Boyd explains why Earendel is important, even if you're not an astrophysicist.
Astronomers using the Hubble Space Telescope have spotted what could be the farthest individual star ever observed. Nicknamed "Earendel," the light from this star has taken nearly 13 billion years to get to us. NASA astronomer Jane Rigby spoke to Morning Report.

In the latest episode of What's Your Limp? Jordan interviews one of his oldest friends, actor Cherami Leigh - who you have seen in Shameless, New Girl, The Mist, Fast Food Nation and more. But her real claim to fame is her extensive voice-over resumé. Cherami has voiced character for Pokemon, Sailor Moon, Borderlands, Street Fighter and, most recently, provided the female player's voice in Cyberpunk 2077.Cherami and Jordan go way back. In fact, they both had the same first paid on-screen acting gig - playing orphans in a Christmas episode of Walker Texas Ranger in the mid-90's. Welcome to Watchers of Tomorrow! A podcast where we go through the world of science fiction television episode by episode, talking about the themes, concepts, ideas, the good, the bad, and the weird. We are great fans of sci-fi and would like to invite you on our journey through the funky and strange worlds that we are to explore… Today’s episode: We begin our look at Star Trek: The Animated Series with a little adventure to the edge of the galaxy, again. Every time the Enterprise gets anywhere near the edge of the galaxy bad stuff happens. Super mind powers, navigation absurdities, hijacked by monsters disguised as humans, or this week's adventure, which is all about an entity eager to take control of the ship. At least it doesn't want to frame Scotty for murder like the last one did. ====== Who are we? Star Trek goes ANIMATED!!! Ya boyz are back ready to take on 1974's animated Trek series. Everyone is yoked except for Bones, Ira shares just how deep deepdeep his nerd-dom went during his teenage years, and it's the birth of the 5-Scotty Rating System!
Our special guest today is the multi-talented Hollywood actor, producer, and director Benjamin Dane. Ben is not only “lighting up” the screens and airwaves with his charisma, stellar “acting chops, and creative vision, but he’s also allowing God’s light to shine through him…like a candle in the darkness…as he shares the love, forgiveness and peace of God with colleagues in the industry and anyone he meets. Ben is a native Texan, born and raised in the Houston area. He grew up with an intense love for art and design and graduated with honors from the Art Institute of Dallas. It was in Dallas where he started acting with community theater groups such as Cornerstone and the Dallas Children’s Theater and was one of the first cast members for “The Promise,” a lavish production depicting the life, death and resurrection of Christ. After appearing in numerous productions, the stage ignited a desire for film and broadcast roles. He made a dynamic first impression with small roles in two highly anticipated projects filmed in Texas…Oliver Stone’s “JFK” and the Emmy-Award winning “Killing in a Small Town” for CBS. These small roles led to leading roles in various Independent projects, several of which won awards at film festivals. Benjamin also gained recognition with starring roles in television for ABC Family, the Discovery Channel and TBN. Currently, Ben is starring in the newly released Independent film, “First Lady” with “Matlock” star, Nancy Stafford, Corbin Bernsen from “L.A. Law,” and Stacey Dash. The film is a Modern Fairytale and a classic romantic comedy with the backdrop of Presidential Politics and Royal Charm. Back in 2013, Ben was an Executive Producer and actor in the film, “Beyond the Farthest Star,” a story about a broken family and how God transformed their lives. Ben could definitely relate to this story line because off screen, he had experienced his own brokenness and life challenges. In today’s segment called “Transformed by God’s Love,” Ben will share how the pain of his parent’s divorce, a near fatal car crash, and a life-changing sermon led him to re-dedicate his life to Christ and experience a total transformation of his heart, soul, mind and spirit that would cause him to have a passion and hunger for God like never before.
While the fandom collectively waits to see the first episode of Star Trek: Picard, your jive-talking hosts take a look back at the first two episodes of Star Trek: The Animated series, 'Beyond the Farthest Star' and 'Yesteryear.' We discuss the broadened visual scope the animated format affords the production team (made up of many of the key players from The Original Series), the peculiar (and often profound) performance choices made by the actors, and Spock's racist friends. Next week we finally get to review fresh and delicious new Trek, as we begin covering each and every episode of Star Trek: Picard. Let's hope it is as glorious and brilliant as the shine on Patrick Stewart's sexy head! While Jake is off getting pooched by Marc Maron, the crew kicks off their adventure into the far reaches of Star Trek: The Animated Series. The crew keeps trying to ruin Scooby-Doo for Erin, and everything is ruined by the flowering of a certain sexual tree. The whole animation business gets us wondering about Botox and using the power of science to reverse the aging process. Much like the listeners of the Warped podcast, we ask about The Animated Series: "Who is this for?" Seriously, though, Matt generates a ton of geek cred for us by dropping some hot Trek knowledge straight off the dome, which is well-timed, since the internet decides that it doesn't love us while we are trying to record. Fortunately, we agree to ourselves that it's just a show, and should really just relax. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

It's history in the making for both the Tarzan canon and adventure fiction itself as "Young Tarzan and the Mysterious She" premieres in Cirsova magazine, a collaboration by author and Edgar Rice Burroughs historian Michael Tierney to finish a story began by Burroughs himself (with the blessing of ERB, Inc.)! Till the day of the accident, the worst part of this job was that I couldn’t tell my friends and family what I really did at the Institute. They think I’m an intern or secretary. I’ve been given a script of what I’m allowed to say and it purposely makes my job sound so mind-numbingly, eyelid-droopingly, attention-driftingly boring that no one will ask any follow up questions. And that’s the point. And till the day of the accident, the best part of my job was …everything else. A major accident at a premier research institute causes a junior archivist, who loves her job, to question her role as the gatekeeper to knowledge. Hear the story on this episode of Storyfeather. We're about to go Beyond! No, not the new movie... we already did that! Join Neumann, Beth, and Dan as they talk about "Beyond The Farthest Star", which is the pilot episode of the 1970's Star Trek animated series! Is this series canon or not? How can Kirk withstand so many laser beams? And why is Scotty missing his legs?! Also a BIG thanks to Gramatik who was gracious enough to let us use excerpts from his song "Break Loose" from his 2011 album "Beatz & Pieces Vol. 1". And so the next phase of SSHB begins! Unfortunately we're off to an inauspicious start, as The Animated Series presents us with animation that might actually be WORSE than we were expecting, a plot that was stale by the time TOS ended with "Beyond the Farthest Star," and a time-travel story that makes no sense even by "Trek" standards in "Yesteryear."
