Scott [in Hardcore] share the same forehead sweat…” - Andrew On this week's very special episode, we're celebrating EPISODE 800 with a very sleaze-tastic conversation on Joel Schumacher's 8MM! How funny is it the screenwriter got upset that the content was toned down from his more hardcore vision? Was Cage's Tom Welles in over his head with this case or was he just the man for the job? How funny is that scene with Gandolfini trying to skip town carrying several boxes of pornography? How great is Joaquin in this performance as Max California? And how terrifying is that final showdown at Casa de Machine? PLUS: “Marc Maron” asks Machine who his guys are! 8MM stars Nicolas Cage, Joaquin Phoenix, James Gandolfini, Peter Stormare, Anthony Heald, Catherine Keener, Myra Carter, Amy Morton, and Chris Bauer as Machine; directed by Joel Schumacher. Expect spoiler-free insights, spirited banter, and excitement about the film's thrilling dynamics! When a dangerous global conspiracy emerges, Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Valentina Allegra de Fontaine assembles a ragtag squad of enhanced operatives—including Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova and Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes—for a clandestine operation that tests their skills, loyalties, and moral boundaries. Thunderbolts* is directed by Jake Schreier and stars Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Lewis Pullman, Geraldine Viswanathan, Chris Bauer, Wendell Pierce, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
We present our Thunderbolts review!Thunderbolts* is a 2025 American superhero film based on Marvel Comics featuring the team Thunderbolts. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the 36th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film was directed by Jake Schreier from a screenplay by Eric Pearson and Joanna Calo, and stars an ensemble cast featuring Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Lewis Pullman, Geraldine Viswanathan, Chris Bauer, Wendell Pierce, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. In the film, a group of antiheroes are caught in a deadly trap and forced to work together on a dangerous mission.Marvel Studios first teased the formation of a Thunderbolts team within the MCU in 2021. The film was revealed to be in development in June 2022, when Schreier and Pearson were attached. The main cast was revealed in September, with additional casting through early 2023. Lee Sung Jin joined to rewrite the script by March 2023, one of several creatives who returned to work with Schreier from the Netflix series Beef (2023–present). Production was delayed due to the 2023 Hollywood labor disputes, causing some cast changes in early 2024. Calo joined by then for further rewrites. Filming took place from February to June 2024 at Trilith Studios and Atlanta Metro Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, and also on location in Utah and Kuala Lumpur.Thunderbolts* premiered on April 22, 2025, at the Cineworld Leicester Square in London, England, and was released in the United States on May 2, as the final film of Phase Five of the MCU. The film received positive reviews from critics, and has grossed $160.4 million, becoming the eighth-highest-grossing film of 2025. The film's ending reveals that the asterisk in the title denotes The New Avengers, with the Thunderbolts team rebranded as the "New Avengers". Following the film's opening weekend, Marvel Studios began marketing the film with that title.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

The second MCU film of the year - Thunderbolts* - has now arrived theaters globally. To be perfectly frank, I was never super excited about this movie prior to the marketing. I was excited by the initial announcement of a Thunderbolts film and Jake Schreier's involvement as director but was quite thrown off by the initial cast announcement. While the Thunderbolts were never really Marvel Comics team that I gravitated towards, I did like a lot of the usual characters included... and seemingly almost none of them were going to be a part of the movie squad. This choice continued a very awkward trend of the MCU trying to distance itself from the very media that allowed it to exist in the first place. I have to say though, props to the marketing team. By the time I was stepping into the theater, I was PUMPED to finally be seeing Thunderbolts*. The trailers have been fantastic, with a few awesome parodies, and even the product tie-ins have been creative (not that tie-ins are exactly a good indication of quality). Did the movie live up to the marketing, or was it as bland as I initially feared?Thunderbolts*Directed by: Jake SchreierStory by: Eric PearsonScreenplay by: Eric Pearson, Joanna CaloProduced by: Kevin FeigeExecutive Producers: Louis D'Esposito, Brian Chapek, Jason TamezMusic by: Son LuxDirector of Photography: Andrew Droz PalermoEdited by: Angela M. Chris Bauer has a decades old tradition of acting in cool projects. Not just quality projects.. but projects that tend to be perceived as the coolest shows on TV. Chris has portrayed incredible scene stealing characters on HBO's The Wire, True Blood, and The Deuce, and most recently on Starz professional wrestling drama, Heels. In this episode, Chris goes deep on process.. or maybe it's anti-process. He talks about using his craft to channel an infinite number of creative possibilities both in life and art. Chris frames it as being open to the "unconcious messengers of the muses.” We talk about navigating the ego and how necessary it is for him to constantly be aware of how ego is not akin to talent. There's really no point in trying to explain Chris' acting genius, you just need to listen to him break it down for yourself. We promise you, this episode will expand your perspective on the artistic process, and you'll get a little glimpse into the mind of the great Chris Bauer.

Heels Season One Podcast Review This week on After Dark, we invited Mariko McDonald of the Talk AEW Podcast to discuss Heels! You don't have to be a professional wrestling fan to fall head over heels in love with the new STARZ series starring Stephen Amell. Created by Michael Waldron (Loki) with Mike O'Malley serving as showrunner, Heels centers on a family-owned wrestling promotion (the Duffy Wrestling League) and follows brothers Jack (Amell) and Ace (Alexander Ludwig) Spade as they navigate their way through the world of independent professional wrestling in their small, fictional Georgia hometown of Duffy. And much like sports entertainment, the most compelling storylines are often the ones that develop outside of the squared circle as the brothers wrestle to keep the family business alive while navigating family life in the wake of their father's death. Following eight stoic years as Oliver Queen, Amell is perfectly cast here given his long-time love affair with wrestling. In addition, his multiple appearances in several real-life wrestling promotions including the WWE and Ring of Honor, help bring far more nuance to his role. And speaking of the cast, Heels is also blessed with a star-studded supporting cast including Allen Maldonaldo, character actor treasure Chris Bauer and even the ‘Best in the World,' CM Punk who is unforgettable in his brief appearance as local wrestling legend Ricky Rabies. By now, you've most likely heard someone compare Heels to Friday Night Lights. Well, that's not a bad comparison since Heels does a superb job in keeping viewers interested even if they are not familiar with the world of professional wrestling, not unlike how Friday Night Lights reached a wide audience including those with no interest in football. And like FNL, Heels is first and foremost a family drama— it just so happens to use professional wrestling as the framing device. Ultimately, Heels is funny, dramatic, often moving, and a well-written love letter to independent wrestling. A few months ago, Awesome Truth asked the eternal question, "Should you watch Heels on Starz?" Well, we did, and now we're back to talk all about season 1. What did we ultimately think about Stephen Amell as Jack Spade, Alexander Ludwig as Ace Spade, and the Duffy Wrestling League? Did we enjoy Chris Bauer's turn as the Ric Flair/Randy Savage mashup Wild Bill Hancock? And how does the final episode's "shocking" twist involving Crystal set things up for season 2 and beyond?
Jack Spade (Stephen Amell) himself calls in and drops a promo on the hotline when Jeff & Brad tackle episode 5 ("Swerve") of the Starz series, HEELS. The pair also talk WWE's Super Smackdown, and Brad's desire to see Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair in a full on hair match.Support the show (https://www.paypal.com/biz/fund?id=9SAV4S5CMQD2S)
Jeff & Brad break down the third episode of the Starz series, HEELS. They also ponder the ethics of the WWE holding PPV's in Saudi Arabia, and sift through a brief history of racism in pro-wrestling.Support the show (https://www.paypal.com/biz/fund?id=9SAV4S5CMQD2S)
We talk to the cast of Heels about what this journey has been like and why everyone needs to be watching this show with a LOT of laughs. Interviews include: Stephen Amell, Alexander Ludwig, Chris Bauer, Mary McCormack, Alison Luff, Kelli Berglund, Allen Maldonado, James Harrison, Mike O' Malley (actor, show runner, exe producer), and Michael Waldron (Creator, Exe Producer). Hosts: Monica Gleberman and Victoria Dupuis ------- Show Bio: Two brothers and rivals one a villain or "heel" in professional wrestling the other a hero or "face" play out scripted matches as they war over their late father's wrestling promotion and vie for national attention in small town Georgia. ------- First two episode descriptions: EP 1: Jack Spade is a husband, a father, and the owner of the Duffy Wrestling League. While Jack controls everything that goes on inside of his wrestling ring, outside the ropes, he's fighting to balance his family life, financial pressures, rival wrestling promotions, and an ex-family friend who's come to poach the DWL's newest star, and Jack's younger brother, Ace Spade. Jack will have to decide what's best for the DWL, but what's good for the league usually comes with collateral damage. EP 2: As the wrestlers at the DWL worry about the fallout from the previous show, Jack struggles with what direction to take the narrative and the league, especially after an enticing offer from the FWD's Charlie Gully. After Ace's humiliating breakdown in the ring, he goes into a tailspin and disappears, causing Jack and Crystal to scour Duffy before Ace does anything too regrettable.

Bring your own kids if you like! It's something we thought was gone forever. Let's make sure it's not!!Here's an article about the great Drive-In comeback! How the American Drive-In Staged a ComebackThe Little ThingsOne of the first in a series of new releases that Warner Brothers is releasing on HBO Max, The Little Things stars 3 Oscar winners, Denzel Washington, Rami Malek, and Jared Leto, and a solid supporting cast, including Natalie Morales and Chris Bauer. We talk about the dated vibe Elaine got from the movie and how and why it is set in the 1990s. But, Travis was distracted by Denzel's appearance and performance. He thinks Denzel looked and moved in an old guy, frumpy way. Maybe.Or maybe Travis hasn't come to terms with the fact that his man-crush can't stay young forever! Here's a Denzel "through the years" gallery to prove it!!Check out Travis's Shorty about Denzel, here. The DigA complete change of pace, The Dig is a British period drama starring Ralph Fiennes and Carey Mulligan. It's based on a true story of an archeological dig on a private estate that resulted in one of the most significant discoveries in history. While the historical aspect of the film is fascinating, The Dig is really a story about relationships and how we are remembered when we're gone. The director is Simon Stone, and the supporting cast includes Lily James, who we loved as Lady Rose MacClare on Downton Abbey. The Dig is currently available on Netflix. For more about the real-life dig that went to be known as "Sutton Hoo find." here are a few pix and videos! We also talk about The Office and Santa Clarita Diet in this episode.
