Nickey Winkelman (@nickeywink) is a Comedian based in Columbus, OH. In this episode, I sit down with comedian Nickey Winkelman to talk about her story and journey in stand-up, the evolving comedy scene, and the challenges of balancing creative work with personal life. We also dive into her early days of getting started in comedy, the pressure of social media in today's entertainment industry, and the fine line between self-confidence and societal expectations of success, and a lot of great chat around the feeling of gratitude for what we've already accomplished rather than always moving our goalposts. By maintaining good relationships and betting on his personality, Marco has interviewed some of the world's biggest celebrities from Nicki Minaj to Chris Brown to Kevin Hart and more. The guys talk about Marco's comedy style and how he understands what energy to bring to a specific moment and has learned through his own experiences about what pushes conversations too far and how to be edgy without putting himself in danger or being viewed too negatively. Marco opens up about one of his podcast episodes that had the potential to go very badly and how he was able to salvage it and stand up for himself by sticking to who he is and his approach. The comedian is known for his awkward approaches to interviews and creative narratives, and he discusses with Channing the importance of personality in comedy, but also the pressure comedians feel to always make people laugh. In a surprising role reversal Ryan puts on his best Funny Marco outfit from wearing the oversized coat to New Balance sneakers to tank top and attempts to interview the star with the same energy the comedian brings in each of his viral clips...Fred and Channing are laughing while Marco responds as you'd least expect, with tears. Marco is already putting his touch on the comedy world, and with each moment he pivots to bring audiences something they've never seen before. Experiencing firsthand the talent of Funny Marco, the guys understand how and why he has become an overnight sensation and whether it's with tears or laughs, Marco's authentic self is taking the internet by storm. Whats up ladies, Cup of Jokes is back with a banger. Jake managed to use a prescription shampoo for a rash and its making him go bald! Within a matter of minutes we get a scam likely call and it goes on longer than expected. Joe was in St. Augustine for Halloween and was dressed as the Cowardly Lion from the Jizzard of Oz. Jake is on keto and is 10lbs down but it looks like he lost 1lb because he is still very very very fat. The boys both got drunk on Halloween and Jake hit on a bartender and got shot down twice. The boys go into a lengthy discussion of knowing your place in comedy and how it hurts you and your scene to lie and say you can do more time than you can. Then talks about how many people are going viral out of Orlando. Top if off with another scam likely call and we have a solid ep for ya. Follow us on IG: https://www.instagram.com/cupofjokesofficial/
