Kiley's birthday turns into a full-blown Newport Beach escape — Angels game, cruising on bikes, bar hopping, and a birthday dinner at the legendary Quiet Woman in Corona Del Mar. But it's the wild, unpredictable cast of characters at the bar that steals the show, and Eric & Kiley give you the hilarious play-by-play you didn't know you needed.

In 1973, 11-year-old Linda Ann O'Keefe was living in Corona Del Mar, California when she disappeared. Linda was attending summer school and walked home from school one day but never made it. Her body was found fairly quickly about ten miles from her home. Join Mike and Morf as they discuss the disappearance and murder of Linda O'Keefe. A family friend saw Linda that day about an hour after school let out. She was standing next to a van with a man in his 20s or 30s. Linda's case went cold and it took over 45 years and advances in DNA technology for the police to find her killer. You can help support the show at patreon.com/criminology An Emash Digital production

I wear glasses. I need them to read words on a page, but I also need them to read the signs on a Freeway. Without them I might end up in Corona Del Mar instead of good old Corona. My point is, the proper lenses get me to where I need to go. Hear me, when life throws us a curve the difference between peace and anxiety is “what I believe.” What I believe from God's word is the proper lens to view through when worry encroaches upon my life. Friends when it comes to stress, what I believe matters. During this message, in our “Got stress” series, I will teach on this very truth. We're excited for you to hear this.———————————————————————————————Connect with us on Social Media:Website: nbcc.com/Facebook: facebook.com/nbccnorcoInstagram: instagram.com/nbccnorcoYouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6S-3n9PVnXm8zSPHAYVyGw----------------------------------------If you have any prayer requests or questions, please message us on our social media or send us an email at hello@nbcc.com. The aesthetic community is abuzz with excitement about an innovative technology that tightens skin and improves skin laxity, all without the need for surgery! Does it seem too good to be true? Micro-coring, as the name suggests, uses a small hollow needle to remove tiny full-thickness cores of tissue. Then, as the skin heals, it tightens up, kind of like shrink-wrapping the skin. Join this week's podcast episode featuring Dr. Kennedy as we delve into the world of microcoring. Dr. Kennedy addresses common questions, such as the key differences from microneedling, ideal candidates for micro-coring, patient expectations, a detailed walkthrough of the procedure and its associated downtime. What is micro-coring and how is it used? (5:03) How is this different from micro-needling? (9:40) How long does the procedure typically take? (14:29) Top 3 tips for someone considering micro-coring (23:50) Lina Kennedy, MD, is a Board Certified Dermatologist based in Southern California. She earned her undergraduate degree at UCLA before pursuing her medical education in Washington, D.C. Dr. Kennedy obtained her medical degree in 2012 from Howard University and completed a year of internship in Internal Medicine at Georgetown University, followed by 3 years of specialized training in Dermatology at Howard University. Currently, Dr. Kennedy is part of a thriving private practice in Corona Del Mar, CA, focusing on cosmetic procedures that enhance natural beauty. In addition to this, she serves as an attending physician at the VA Long Beach Medical Center, where she not only practices dermatology but also educates dermatology residents from the University of California-Irvine. Do you feel shame, regret, or guilt for things you did or should have done? If so, you may be under the influence of the Bad Me Thought—the negative and critical inner voice that insists you screwed up, you're a bad person, and you don't deserve any better in life. On Love University podcast, we learned ways to eradicate the Bad Me Thought Demon—exaggerated shame and guilt—so you can live confidently and with peace and joy. Here's what you can do to eliminate the Bad Me Thought Demon: *Take moral inventory of your past actions and learn from them. If you made a mistake, acknowledge and learn from it. Maybe you hurt a loved one or messed up at work in a bad way. Resolve to apply the lessons learned to help you become a stronger and better person. You don't have to beat yourself over the head constantly for your errors, blunders, and bad habits. You can grow from your experiences and move forward with your life. *Affirm the Gift of Life. Instead of hiding from others and life because of the mistakes you've made, boldly enter the present and travel into the future. Embrace the gift of life and natural abilities you have been given by the Higher Nature (God, spirit, nature). Spend time with loved ones, do the hobbies and activities you love, and engage in a spiritual/meditative practice. Most importantly, shine your positive loving energy to everyone who crosses your path with a feeling of gratefulness and compassion. *Catch others doing the right thing. There is an interesting psychological paradox. What we do to others, we often do to ourselves. When we condemn others, we are likely to condemn ourselves. When we forgive and are tolerant to others, we do the same for ourselves. To master the Bad Me Thought Demon, therefore, begin to reward people (verbally, affectionately) for saying and doing positive and uplifting things. Instead of being quick to judge, criticize, and condemn, develop empathy and put yourself in their shoes. Forgive them for their errors. With empathy, perhaps you realize that the person who made a cruel remark was having a bad day (family problems), and they are actually a decent and caring person. Strive to see the good in people, and you will start seeing the good in yourself. Although some guilt can be useful to help you overcome weaknesses and remedy wrongs, the Bad Me Thought Demon exaggerates guilt and shame to humiliate and destroy you. The good news is that you don't have to yield to its influence. While recognizing and learning from your mistakes, you can move forward to affirm the gift of life and help others along the way. After all, there is nothing for you to be ashamed about: You are human, you are free, and you are loved. Paulina and Jez had a terrifying good time chatting with Pierce and Raquel Horvath of Dead Scared Entertainment, a Romani-run horror media company. Detroit born and living in Chicago, Pierce and Raquel Horvath are Hungarian Slovak Bashalde Romungre raised within Roma tradition with a modern twist.Growing up, Pierce was a passionate bat biologist-to-be, but as he fostered his love for Roma music, mid-century modern art, and classic horror films while studying animation at DePaul University he found he'd be fusing these elements into the nostalgic, spooky, Roma production company that is never short of his favorite nocturnal animal. When it came to Raquel, where there was music, she was dancing. Throughout her formative years, she would go on to learn many styles of dance while performing and competing. During her time at DePaul University as well, she decided to learn business and entrepreneurship, making her ready to tackle everything necessary to concoct the perfect monster that became Dead Scared Entertainment. You can follow Dead Scared Entertainment at https://www.deadscaredentertainment.com/ and listen to their podcast O Verda Darano (The Wagon of Fear) wherever you find podcasts. Paulina and Jez interview each other about the art of dream interpretation & divination to kick off our spooky season themed episodes this October. This episode also launches the first advice column, and we invite listeners to write in with their problems, and we will pull a tarot card each and give you some advice as best we can. Take it with a grain of salt— we're fortune tellers, not therapists. Paulina & Jez also shout out some wonderful Romani fortune tellers that they have gotten readings from recently: Bibi Jaz, Katelan Foisy, Bimbo Yaga (Ylva Mara Radziszewski), Opulent Witch (Kiki Robinson), & Sasha Ravitch. We highly recommend. Our advice column this month is about how to repair a wounded friendship. We mention the podcasts Where Should We Begin? with Esther Perel, Best Friends with Nicole Byer & Sasheer Zamata, and the book Nonviolent Communication by Marshall Rosenberg.
