Send us Fan MailEver notice how the thing that helped you survive can quietly become the thing that keeps you disconnected? The armor. The independence. The belief that you have to carry it all yourself. In this conversation, Carol sits down with Lady Jen Du Plessis to explore what happens when high achievers stop proving, protecting, and performing... and start allowing themselves to be seen.Together, they unpack the hidden cost of self-reliance, why vulnerability feels so uncomfortable for successful people, and how our brains often confuse safety with staying hidden.Because what if the breakthrough isn't working harder? What if it's letting a little more light in?If you've ever struggled to receive support, trust others, or share the parts of your story you've worked hard to protect, this episode will speak directly to you.Where are you still wearing armor? And what might become possible if you simply started poking a few holes in it?The path from hustle to harmony doesn't begin with doing more.It begins with being seen.
I know we've talked about boundaries on this show before. But this conversation? It went somewhere I really wasn't expecting. My guest today is Alex Lianne Carter, a master certified neurocoach, educator, and children's author who burned out, rebuilt her life one small decision at a time, and eventually packed up her family and moved to Panama. When Alex reached out to me about coming on to talk about boundaries, I sat with it for a minute because the angle she brought was one I hadn't heard before, and I think you're going to feel it too.Because this episode is really about three things that are all connected: the busyness we can't shake, the boundaries we can't hold, and what our kids are quietly picking up from watching us do both. Alex walks us through the brain science behind why slowing down genuinely feels wrong, where these patterns actually come from, and what we can do about it before we hand the whole cycle to our kids. What You'll Learn:Why you can't hold a boundary no matter how many times you set it What your kids are absorbing right now just by watching how you move through your dayThe real reason slowing down feels dangerous to your nervous system even when you desperately want itThe very first step out of autopilot when you're so deep in it you don't even realize it's runningConnect With Alex:Free to Be Me (children's book): www.freetobemekid.comInstagram: www.instagram.com/alex.lianne.carterLinkedIn: ca.linkedin.com/in/alexliannecarter ________________________________
Send us Fan MailBe honest. How many books have you read that changed your life...for about three days? How many podcasts have you listened to while thinking,"Wow. I needed to hear that."Only to go right back to doing things the same way?In this episode, Alex and Carol explore the uncomfortable truth that most high achievers aren't stuck because they don't know enough. They're stuck because they're waiting.Waiting for more confidence.Waiting for more certainty.Waiting for the perfect plan. But what if the thing you're searching for isn't another strategy? What if it's action?Through a powerful conversation inspired by the teachings of Napoleon Hill and Don Green, Executive Director of the Napoleon Hill Foundation, this episode unpacks why fear keeps us circling the same decisions, how self-talk quietly shapes our identity, and why vision matters more than current circumstances.Because your brain will always find evidence for the story you're repeating. So what story are you telling yourself? And what future are you rehearsing every day?You don't need more information. You need a reason to trust yourself enough to move.

Send us Fan MailEver notice how fear doesn't show up until the moment you actually step into the thing you said you wanted? That's exactly what happened to Alex. What started as a surfing lesson turned into something much deeper. Panic. Tears. Old trauma rising to the surface. A nervous system screaming for safety while another part whispered… stay.In this episode, Alex and Carol pull back the curtain on what really happens inside the brain and body when you're facing fear, growth, uncertainty, and the pressure to “hold it together.”Because high achievers are often really good at looking calm while internally spiraling. We talk about nervous system regulation, old subconscious patterns, why your brain clings to familiarity, and what it actually takes to move through fear instead of letting it make your decisions. And maybe the most important question of all:What are you avoiding because your brain thinks it's protecting you?And what could happen if you stayed with the wave instead of turning back to shore? This conversation is messy. Vulnerable. Human.A reminder that courage doesn't mean feeling fearless. It means staying present long enough to become someone new.
Send us Fan MailSomewhere along the way, you learned to be the “good one.”The responsible one.The achiever. The one who keeps it together even when you're quietly unraveling inside. But what if that wiring started long before you even had words for it?In this deeply personal episode, Alex and Carol unpack the invisible programming we absorb as children and how those early patterns quietly shape the way we lead, parent, work, love, and push ourselves to exhaustion.Alex shares the emotional story behind her new children's book Free to Be Me and why burnout made her realize how early self-doubt, perfectionism, and people-pleasing actually begin. Not through trauma necessarily. But through repetition.Expectations.Tiny moments that teach us who we think we're supposed to be.This conversation is about identity.Inner dialogue. And the exhausting pressure to control everything because your brain thinks control equals safety. What if confidence isn't something you earn later? What if it's something we're meant to protect from the very beginning? And how much of your adult stress is actually younger versions of you still trying to “get it right”?There's also a powerful moment around uncertainty, surrender, and the phrase: It is done. Not “on the way.”Done.Because your nervous system is always listening.
Send us Fan MailWhat if the reason you feel stuck… isn't laziness, lack of discipline, or “not enough time”?What if it's perfectionism wearing a really convincing disguise? In this episode, Alex and Carol unpack the exhausting pressure of trying to get everything “right” before you move. The perfect plan. The perfect timing. The perfect version of you.And meanwhile?Your life sits in the waiting room. They explore why perfectionism feels so safe to the nervous system, how overthinking creates paralysis, and why excellence has a completely different energy than perfection ever will.Because excellence moves.Perfection freezes. This conversation gets real about fear of judgment, comparison, self-worth, and the emotional weight of always trying to hold it all together. But it also opens the door to something lighter.Messy action.Small wins.Trusting yourself again. You'll hear powerful reflections on identity, confidence, learning, leadership, and why your brain actually needs evidence of progress, not impossible standards, to build momentum. Where are you waiting to feel “ready”?And what might happen if you stopped trying to be perfect… and started allowing yourself to grow?Perfection keeps you stuck.Excellence creates movement.
Send us Fan MailReady to stop watering yourself down to fit into everyone else's expectations? In this episode, Alex and Carol sit down with artist and entrepreneur Ocean from Natsukashii Ink for a conversation about creativity, confidence, authenticity, and the courage to build something that actually feels aligned with who you are.Because somewhere along the way, so many high-achieving leaders stop creating from freedom… and start creating from pressure.Pressure to succeed.Pressure to prove yourself.Pressure to get it right.Sound familiar?Together, we explore why authenticity can feel so vulnerable to the nervous system, how external validation quietly shapes our decisions, and what happens when you finally stop waiting for permission to fully be yourself.Ocean shares his journey of turning art into a business while staying true to his vision, and Alex brings in the neuroscience behind identity, self-trust, perfectionism, and why your brain often mistakes playing small for safety. Because what if the thing you've been trying to tone down… is actually the thing that makes you magnetic?Where in your life are you holding back parts of yourself to feel accepted? And what could shift if you trusted your voice, your vision, and your creativity a little more? You don't need to become someone else to create something meaningful.

In this episode of Your Leadership Legacy, host Tina Krause welcomes Alex Lianne Carter, a master certified neuro coach, educator, and author. Alex shares her journey from burnout to transformation, including her family's move to Panama. She discusses how childhood experiences shape adult leadership and mindset, explaining key neuroscience concepts like neuroplasticity and mirror neurons. Alex introduces her children's book, Free to Be Me, designed to build confidence and emotional resilience through positive self-talk. The conversation emphasizes intentional parenting, presence, and identity as foundations for raising future leaders and preventing burnout. Every child deserves to laugh, to shine, and to feel completely free to be who they are. Alex Lianne Carter is an educator with nearly two decades of international experience, a master-certified neurocoach, and the author of Free to Be Me, a children's book designed to help kids build confidence, identity, and emotional resilience from an early age. Through her work, Alex explores a powerful idea: we don't lose confidence overnight, we slowly unlearn it. This perspective shapes her work with both children and adults, helping them reconnect with who they were before fear and self-doubt took hold. She is also the host of the award-winning podcast Unleashed & Unstoppable, where she explores identity, leadership, and the courage to fully show up. Alongside her husband, she co-runs a digital web agency, helping entrepreneurs and organizations build online platforms that reflect who they truly are. When she's not writing or speaking, or deep in website strategy, you'll find her barefoot in the sand with her daughters, chasing sunsets, exploring waterfalls, and journaling under palm trees at sunrise as the howler monkeys call through the jungle, building the kind of childhood she believes every child deserves. Send us Fan MailReady to spell it out? P-E-R-F-E-C-T-I-O-N… or is that exactly what's keeping you stuck? In this episode, Alex and Carol unpack the perfection trap—the cycle of overthinking, perfectionism, fear of failure, and waiting until everything feels “just right” before taking action. Sound familiar? We explore why your brain craves perfection (hint: it thinks it's keeping you safe), how it's tied to external validation, and the hidden cost of always needing to get it “right.”Because what if perfection isn't the goal… and never was?Where are you holding yourself back right now? And what could shift if you just… hit go?Done is better than perfect.

Most people who feel stuck, angry, or burned out are not dealing with what they think they are dealing with. That is the throughline of Episode 538, a conversation that starts with the aftermath of the 1% Conference in Chicago and goes somewhere much deeper. CJ's wife Candis Quinney walks in fresh off one of the most powerful 1% Conferences the S2S family has ever put together, and her presence immediately changes the energy in the room. Candis is not here as a plus one. She is building something, a movement for women who are done performing, done pretending, and done settling for a version of life that looks good on the outside and feels hollow on the inside. Her story, including a moment of sitting in a closet with everything she was supposed to want and still breaking down, is the kind of honesty that most people spend their whole lives avoiding. It is also exactly why we named this episode what we named it. Before the episode even gets rolling, Karl opens with a reframe that sets the tone for everything that follows: God does not always allow the pain. Sometimes it is just our decisions. What is remarkable is that He works through it anyway. ET's conference debrief becomes one of the most honest moments in recent S2S memory. He traces his lifelong anger back to its real source, being uprooted from Chicago as a kid, losing his cousin-brothers, resenting a stepfather he never asked for, and spending decades needing to control everything because nobody was ever in control for him. The breakthrough comes when he finally connects the dots and realizes the plan he spent years fighting against was actually the plan that made him who he is. The episode also goes deep on DeDe's gift, her ability to see what no one else sees, illustrated through the story of Donovan, a child in their church navigating an impossible situation while his younger brother fights kidney failure. It is a quiet masterclass in what it looks like to show up for people with your actual gifts, not just your checkbook. If you are a woman who has ever smiled through something that was breaking you, this one is going to meet you exactly where you are. And if you have ever chased a life that looked right on paper and still felt empty behind closed doors, pull up a chair. This conversation was made for you. Send us Fan MailThis week's episode is a special one. We're resharing a condensed version of one of our most powerful conversations as Unleashed and Unstoppable heads into the Digifest Temecula Awards 2026, kicking off April 24. After bringing home two awards last year, this episode has been selected as this year's official submission—and it's easy to see why.In this conversation, we sit down with Lia Valencia Key, founder and creative director of Valencia Key Jewelry, a brand built on belief, possibility, and the courage to rise.Lia's story begins in Philadelphia, where she experienced homelessness as a child. Anchored by her mother's unwavering message that circumstances don't define destiny, she carved a path forward—earning degrees in business and education, building a career as a global hair and makeup artist, and ultimately launching her jewelry line on QVC, reaching millions of homes worldwide. Her journey has taken her from unimaginable hardship to global recognition, with features in Oprah Magazine and sharing the stage with Jamie Kern Lima. But what makes Lia's story truly powerful is her commitment to giving back—supporting and uplifting women in shelters while continuing to lead with joy, light, and purpose. This episode is a reminder of what's possible when belief meets action. In this episode, you'll walk away with: A powerful perspective shift on how your circumstances shape—but don't define—you Insight into turning vision into reality, even when the odds feel stacked against you A renewed sense of purpose, joy, and what it means to lead with lightVisit Lia Valencia Key OnlineWebsite | Instagram | FacebookExplore Digifest Temecula OnlineWebsite | Instagram
This week's episode leans a little more literary than usual—less breaking news, more storytelling, and a surprisingly thoughtful mix of sci-fi, horror, and real-world weirdness. Real Life Ben kicks things off by consciously shifting gears—less doomscrolling, more reading. A noble goal, and honestly, one that might save his sanity. That theme carries through the episode more than expected. Steven brings in the tabletop energy with Cyberpunk Red Combat Zone, diving into a recent session with Greg. Not only did he get some solid playtime in, he actually won—a rare enough event to deserve celebration. He breaks down how the game feels on the table, what works, and why it scratches that tactical cyberpunk itch without bogging players down. Ben circles back with The Orville, speculating about a possible season 4 and reflecting on season 3's pacing issues. Longer episodes aren't always better, and the conversation drifts into something more interesting: can "pop culture" even exist in something like Star Trek? Or does referencing it break the illusion of the future? It's a surprisingly deep rabbit hole for a show that also features goo aliens and karaoke. Devon wraps the segment with a mini review of Dust Bunny, which sounds like it refuses to sit cleanly in any genre—magical realism, horror, maybe assassins? It's got strong #Benergy. He's also been bouncing between shows lately and not finding anything that sticks, which is a feeling a lot of people are quietly having right now. Future or Now Ben taps out this week and lets the science crew cook. Steven brings in a genuinely useful study: a clinical trial showing that specially designed music with auditory beat stimulation can significantly reduce anxiety. The standout detail? A 24-minute session hit the sweet spot—long enough to have a measurable effect, short enough to be practical. That idea of a "dosage" for music is interesting, especially if you're someone trying to manage stress without adding another hour-long routine to your day. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2026/03/260315225133.htm Devon follows with something more unsettling. Modern food systems are increasingly dependent on digital approval layers—databases, logistics software, automated verification. The result? Perfectly good food can sit unused or be thrown away simply because a system won't recognize it. Not spoiled. Not unsafe. Just… digitally invisible. It's a quiet kind of fragility that doesn't show up until it really, really matters. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2026/04/260403224505.htm Book Club Next week, the crew is reading Learning to Be Me by Greg Egan, which opens with one of those classic sci-fi hooks that immediately rewires your brain: a child learning there's something inside their skull learning to become them. If you know Egan, you know this is going to get existential fast. This week's discussion centers on Morning Shed by Namita Krishnamurthy, and it lands somewhere between horror and speculative fiction. The premise is visceral and unsettling, and the reactions reflect that. Steven really connects with the writing style—there's something about the way it unfolds that sticks. Devon appreciates it but keeps a bit of distance. Ben, as usual, digs into the meaning, questioning how literal or metaphorical the story's elements are. It's one of those discussions where nobody's wrong, but nobody fully agrees either—which is exactly where the best conversations tend to live. If this episode has a throughline, it's this: systems—whether they're games, shows, bodies, or entire food networks—only work as well as the assumptions behind them. And when those assumptions get weird, everything else follows. And yeah, Steven finally got a win. That might be the biggest sci-fi moment of all.

In this Remaster episode I am talking to Dr. Penny Sartori about her book 'The Transformative Power of Near-Death Experiences: How the Messages of NDEs Can Positively Impact the World' Discover the positive effects of NDEs in this “well-written and thought-provoking” study full of near-death experience true stories (Anita Moorjani, New York Times–bestselling author of Dying to Be Me). Near-death experiences (NDEs) are often transformative—not only on an individual level, but on a collective level too. This book contains a selection of inspiring stories from ordinary people whose extraordinary experiences have changed the course and direction of their lives, opening each and every one of them to the power of divine love. Recent years have seen a dramatic change of attitude towards near-death experiences. Unfortunately, the ongoing debates about near-death experiences have detracted greatly from their transformational effects and how empowering they can be for the whole of mankind. For those who experience them, near-death experiences often instill the knowledge that we are all interconnected and part of one great whole. This book aims to inspire people from all walks of life, creeds, cultures, and faiths to the transformational power of the message of near-death experiences—and to show how the love experienced during the NDE has the capacity to heal minds, bodies and souls. Bio Dr Penny Sartori worked as a nurse in a British hospital for 21 years, 17 of those being in Intensive Care. She is highly experienced and skilled in her role as an intensive care staff nurse; and has conducted unique and extensive research into the near-death experiences (NDEs) of her patients. In 2005 she was awarded a PhD for her research into NDEs. Dr Sartori's work has received worldwide attention and media coverage. She has spoken at many conferences both nationally and internationally and her work has received the attention of HRH King Charles. https://www.drpennysartori.com/ https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06WLPS94B https://www.pastliveshypnosis.co.uk/https://www.patreon.com/ourparanormalafterlifeMy book 'Verified Near Death Experiences' https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DXKRGDFP Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Send a textHave you ever told yourself,“Okay. This time I'm going to stick with it.”And then a few weeks later… life happens. The routine shifts. The habit disappears. And suddenly you're questioning your consistency, your discipline — maybe even your identity. If that sounds familiar, this episode is your reset. We're revisiting one of our most powerful conversations with Ronnie Loaiza — behavioral science expert, certified habit coach, master certified life coach, and personal trainer — because the truth about habits is more relevant than ever.Especially for high-achieving women leaders.Because here's what we see all the time: You don't struggle with ambition or commitment. You struggle with trying to build habits on top of pressure, burnout, and unrealistic expectations. And your brain? It's simply doing what it was wired to do.In This Episode, We Explore:✨ Why willpower is overrated✨ The difference between a routine and a habit✨ What to do when a habit you built suddenly disappears✨ Why 21 days is a myth (real studies show 85–185 days!)✨ How to identify the hidden “reward” behind habits that aren't serving you✨ The neuroscience behind dopamine, celebration, and momentum✨ Ronnie's simple If–Then strategy for creating flexibility without losing progress✨ Why momentum beats motivation every timeWe also go deeper into the pre-work most habit books skip:Before you build the habit, you have to uncover: What void is this habit filling? What reward am I unconsciously protecting? Does this habit actually align with who I'm becoming?Because sometimes the habit isn't the problem.Sometimes it's the identity shift happening underneath it.For the Leader Who…Feels pressure to perform at the highest level — alwaysWorries about burnout but keeps pushing anywayBelieves she “should be able to handle it all”Wants systems that support her success instead of draining herIs ready to work smarter — not harderThis conversation will meet you exactly where you are.Not with hustle, shame, or more discipline. But with neuroscience, compassion, and strategy.Reflect As You Listen:Where am I relying on motivation instead of systems? What tiny action could rebuild trust with myself today? What changed in my life that may have disrupted my routine?Am I judging myself… when I actually just need a new plan?High performance doesn't require punishment. Sustainable leadership doesn't require self-neglect.And habits that last? They're built on awareness, alignment, and celebration.

Start Your Transformation Now In this episode of The Jim Fortin Podcast, Jim Fortin reframes wealth from a radically different perspective—one rooted in consciousness rather than effort, hustle, or external conditions. Against the backdrop of economic uncertainty, Jim explains why money is not something to chase, earn, or force into existence, but something that flows naturally from the state of being a person occupies. By shifting attention from form—bank accounts, markets, and bills—to consciousness itself, listeners are invited to rethink everything they believe about financial security and abundance. Jim breaks down four powerful reframes that dismantle the cultural conditioning around money: that wealth exists outside of us, that hard work guarantees financial success, that numbers define worth, and that current circumstances reflect present truth. Instead, he reveals how wealth is a state of consciousness first—and how money is simply a delayed echo of past thinking. When consciousness changes, form must follow. If you've been working harder but feeling stuck, anxious, or at the mercy of external forces, this episode offers a grounded yet expansive perspective that can permanently change how you relate to money, supply, and yourself. What You'll Discover in This Episode: (02:50) The lie that money exists outside of you Why chasing money keeps it out of reach—and how wealth actually takes form through consciousness. (08:58) Why wealth is a state of being before it's a number Jim explains why focusing on bank balances and markets keeps people trapped in the “shadows.” (14:45) The cause-and-effect truth behind financial reality How consciousness creates money—and why trying to fix effects never works. (18:06) Why you are supply itself, not separate from it A powerful reframe that dissolves lack by reconnecting identity to Source. (24:11) Why your finances reflect past consciousness, not present truth How to stop treating money as a verdict and start using it as feedback. (29:57) A simple phrase that rewires your relationship with money Jim shares a practical internal shift that changes how you respond to bills, fear, and lack. Listen, apply, and enjoy! Transformational Takeaway Money does not define who you are—it reflects who you have been. When you stop reacting to appearances and start identifying as consciousness itself, the struggle dissolves. Wealth is not something you earn someday; it is something you embody now. Shift the cause, and the effect must change. When you stop waiting for proof and begin living from knowing, supply aligns naturally—and life responds accordingly. In this episode, we revive a much-loved segment of the podcast: the Reading Corner. After a long pause filled with life changes, travel, and new chapters, we return to books as a source of reflection, grounding, and growth. This conversation isn't about book reviews or recommendations in the traditional sense, but about how stories shape us, challenge us, and gently guide us back to ourselves.Natalie shares her deep immersion into three books by Peruvian author Ailton Krenak (The Time of the Black Jaguar, Dear and Thunder, and The Spirit of the Glacier Speaks), which explore Indigenous wisdom, connection to Mother Earth, and living from the heart rather than the head. These books resonate strongly with her current life in South Africa and her vision of living off-grid, self-sufficient, and in harmony with the land. She reflects on themes of colonial history, ancestral knowledge, food, ceremony, balance between masculine and feminine energies, and the importance of compassion over blame. Rather than offering practical “how-to” steps, these books invite her to let go of checklists and trust intuition, presence, and relationship with nature.Lenka then shares two very different yet surprisingly aligned reads: I Haven't Been Entirely Honest With You by Miranda Hart and Dying to Be Me by Anita Moorjani. Both books tell deeply personal stories of illness, breakdown, healing, and transformation. Lenka reflects on how these narratives reinforce the importance of self-acceptance, authenticity, and releasing societal expectations.Through humour, vulnerability, and profound life events, both authors model what it looks like to stop people-pleasing, honour one's truth, and choose a life that feels aligned, even when it looks unconventional.Together, we explore how very different books can carry the same core message: healing, fulfilment, and peace often begin when we allow ourselves to be fully who we are.We discuss how reading personal stories can be more powerful than prescriptive self-help, offering inspiration through lived experience rather than rigid frameworks. The episode closes with an invitation to listeners to reconnect with reading in a meaningful way, to share books that have inspired or challenged them, and to approach learning with curiosity rather than judgment. This Reading Corner is less about finishing books, and more about letting them open new questions, paths, and ways of being.
Start Your Transformation Now In this episode, Your Belief and the Problem Is The Problem, Jim Fortin challenges one of the most deeply ingrained assumptions in personal growth—that problems are something to be fixed. Drawing from shamanic wisdom, neuroscience, and lived experience, Jim reveals that what we call “problems” are often creations of the ego, sustained by the belief that something is wrong in the first place. When identity is rooted in the ego, struggle feels real and persistent—but when awareness shifts, problems lose their power. Jim goes deeper into how focusing on healing, money, love, or solutions can actually reinforce the very conditions people want to escape. He explains why techniques, hustling, and even prayer can unintentionally affirm lack, separation, and struggle when they come from ego-based identity. Instead, Jim invites listeners to recognize themselves as consciousness first—and to allow universal intelligence to work through them rather than forcing outcomes through effort. If you've been working hard to “solve” your life but still feel stuck, this episode offers a powerful reframing that can change how you experience challenges altogether. What You'll Discover in This Episode: (02:01) Why believing you have a problem is often the real problem Jim explains how problems exist primarily because the ego believes they do. (06:45) How focusing on healing, money, or love can reinforce lack Learn why trying to fix conditions from ego-based identity keeps them alive. (11:58) Why prayer, visualization, and techniques can backfire Discover how effort-based approaches affirm separation from Source. (17:01) The identity shift from ego to consciousness Jim breaks down the difference between having consciousness and being consciousness. (23:45) Why stopping the struggle allows life to realign Understand how silence, presence, and service open the door to effortless change. (32:55) A simple sentence that dissolves ego-based problems Jim shares a practical way to separate who you are from what you're experiencing. Listen, apply, and enjoy! Transformational Takeaway The moment you stop identifying as the condition and recognize yourself as the one experiencing it, everything changes. Problems don't disappear because you fix them—they dissolve when you stop feeding them with belief, fear, and effort. When you shift from ego to consciousness, life no longer pushes against you. It moves with you. Let go of the struggle, return to awareness, and allow transformation to unfold naturally. Send us a textWhat if confidence isn't something we build later in life… but something we slowly learn to unlearn? In this heart-opening episode, Alex is joined by two powerful collaborators—artist Nadia & project partner Danielle—for a deeply personal conversation about Free to Be Me, a children's book that's quickly becoming a movement. What started as a quiet moment during a breathwork session (and a breastfeeding cuddle) has grown into a bold vision: helping the next generation of leaders stay connected to who they truly are—before the world teaches them otherwise.Together, the 3 explore why language matters so much in shaping belief, identity, and self-worth from the very beginning. Alex shares how her background in neuroscience, education, and leadership coaching—combined with becoming a mom—radically heightened her awareness of the words children hear every day… and the invisible stories those words plant. You'll hear:Why phrases like “I'm busy” or “be careful” can quietly shape lifelong patterns of burnout and fearHow affirmations like “I can do this” become embodied beliefs when children are invited to truly own themWhat it means to raise children who feel seen, loved, and enough exactly as they areHow art becomes a bridge between emotion, identity, and belongingWhy this book is being intentionally co-created—with families, children, and the wider communityNadia offers a beautiful behind-the-scenes look at her creative process, sharing how she captures not just what a child looks like, but how they feel. Danielle grounds the conversation by weaving together the purpose, pacing, and importance of doing this work with care, integrity, and heart.✨ Be Part of the StoryFree to Be Me is now officially available for pre-order, and this episode marks the beginning of its next phase. In the coming weeks, we'll be opening a crowdsourcing initiative that invites families, parents, grandparents, and supporters to help co-create the illustrations that bring this book to life. What starts as a celebration of Alex's children's book Free To Be Me officially opening for pre-orders becomes a powerful exploration of what happens in our brains, bodies, and nervous systems when we choose to go public with what matters most. This isn't just a conversation about launching a book. It's about launching yourself into the next level—without burning out, overcomplicating the process, or waiting for “perfect.”Together, Alex and Carol reflect on:Why done really is better than perfect—and how simplicity creates momentumWhat's actually happening in your nervous system when fear, tension, or doubt shows up during growthHow celebrating small wins releases the neuro-chemicals that help you move through resistance instead of retreatingThe power of declaring your intention out loud and letting your community support youWhy staying connected to the why matters more than obsessing over the howHow early beliefs around worthiness, safety, and love shape our leadership—and why it's so powerful to rewire them early (for ourselves and our children)You'll also hear Alex share vulnerably about the journey of bringing Free To Be Me to life—from the spark of an idea while nursing her daughter, to navigating visibility, discomfort, and expansion as the book enters the world. Today, I am speaking with Batya Sherizen, who is the author of the newly released book, “Dying to Be Me,” which speaks about her personal journey through a harrowing life-threatening condition she was diagnosed with when she was pregnant with her sixth child.During the pregnancy, she had to be on bed rest for months, live in the hospital for a month at a certain point and ultimately, give birth via C-section in an incredibly scary and truly dangerous surgery that she almost didn't survive. This book speaks about that experience and so much more. She explains it as an “eye-opening memoir about self-acceptance, love and embracing the present.”I don't have favorite episodes because I truly love all of the guests and conversations I have yet this one left a particularly strong impact on me because of its depth and the vulnerability Batya shared when telling more about her story and all she went through. In the episode, we speak about-The type of person Batya was before this experience and how she has evolved since-How she lived with the idea thinking death could be coming and how it changed her day-to-day world-What “living up to her potential” now means to her and how that view differs from the past-What it was like going through this experience while also being a mother to five other children — we go really in depth here into the reaction her kids had, what it was like when she couldn't physically be present for them, the self-love and acceptance she went through as a mom, woman and so much more-Her relationship with Hashem and how that has completely evolved and grown-Her relationship with her husband throughout this experience and how afterward, they both went about working through all that happened…and so much more!To get Batya's Book, click here.
Send us a textAt what point did you stop trusting yourself?Somewhere between childhood and leadership, many of us learned to be quieter, smaller, more “acceptable.” We learned to perform, to overthink, to seek approval — and eventually, to doubt the very instincts that once came naturally. In this powerful and reflective episode, Alex and Carol explore how early experiences shape confidence, self-expression, and leadership long before we ever realize it, and why so many high-achieving adults are still operating from beliefs formed in their earliest years. What begins as a conversation about learning environments quickly opens into something much bigger: how identity is shaped, how fear gets wired in, and how safety — emotional and neurological — is the foundation for confidence at any age.Along the way, Alex shares a deeply personal realization sparked by her daughter's first parent-teacher interview in Panama — a moment that revealed not only what her child was learning, but the unconscious fears many of us carry based on stories we've absorbed from others' experiences. In this episode, you'll hear:Why being “met where you're at” is essential for growth — in childhood and leadershipHow language, feedback, and labels quietly shape self-talk and identityThe difference between breaking generational patterns and reclaiming generational giftsWhy so many high performers struggle with self-doubt despite external successHow simple morning and evening “bookends” can regulate the nervous system and build self-trustThis conversation also reveals the heart behind Alex's upcoming children's book, Free to Be Me — a book written to help children grow up knowing they are safe, capable, worthy, and free to use their voice, before self-doubt ever takes hold.If you're a parent, leader, educator, or coach who cares about confidence, self-trust, and raising the next generation — this book is for you.

Today, Michael speaks with Anita Moorjani. Anita is a renowned author and spiritual speaker known for her transformative journey beyond the brink of death. While living in Hong Kong, Anita battled end-stage cancer before experiencing a remarkable near-death experience, or NDE, that shifted her perspective on life. Her bestselling memoir, "Dying to Be Me," chronicles her profound journey and miraculous healing. Anita travels the world sharing her insights on self-love, consciousness, and the interconnectedness of all things. Her teachings empower others to embody the highest version of themselves and live vibrant, authentic lives. Anita's new book, “Sensitive is the New Strong,” is out now. Conversation highlights include: -Anita's near-death experience: the freedom from pain, the absence of fear, and the deep clarity that revealed how her life choices shaped her illness -Her turbulent relationship with her father and the weight of cultural traditions that led to a life-changing act of defiance that shaped her path and healing -Reuniting with her father on the other side in unconditional love, seeing glimpses of her future mission, and facing the decision to return to physical life -Waking up from her coma, against all odds, accurately recalling conversations she “shouldn't” have heard, and beginning her stunning physical recovery -How a simple online post about her NDE caught the attention of Dr. Jeffrey Long—and then Wayne Dyer—setting Anita's public mission into motion -How illness often begins at the soul level, why fear fuels disease, and how choosing joy, love, and purpose can reverse one's life trajectory -Shifting from “remission” to “remember my mission,” Anita reframes healing and explains why letting go—rather than holding onto resentment—sets you free -Why true transformation comes from communion with the soul, not just treating symptoms, and how this deeper work sustains physical and spiritual wellness Finally, Michael leads a guided meditation to open the heart and mind to the ever-present blessings of the Universe.
Cancer Put Her in a Coma. She Survived. Her Near Death Experience Changed Everything. Mayim Bialik's Breakdown delves into Anita Moorjani's (renowned author, TedX speaker & self-help spiritual speaker) mind-blowing near-death experience (NDE) story and how it completely transformed her cancer, her path to healing & spiritual awakening, and how it changed the way she viewed life after death. Before her miraculous cancer recovery, Anita opens up like never before about the emotional toll of escaping an arranged marriage, her belief that neglecting her own needs while caring for others may have contributed to her cancer, and why living out of alignment with your true self can be toxic (and even deadly). Her integration journey post-NDE wasn't easy. Friends and family treated her like the same person — but she had touched something far greater than this world, and she couldn't go back. Anita Moorjani also breaks down: - Her belief that heaven is not a place, but a state of being - How we're all eternally connected — past, present, and future - Why intuition, self-love, & authenticity are the real medicine we've all been missing - How you're likely manifesting wrong - How Ayurveda and naturopathic healing deeply resonated with her healing journey - Difference between unconditional love (the kind people experience during NDEs) and earthly love - Why deepening your intuition starts with radical self-confidence - How letting go of what isn't authentically you is the key to ultimate healing This is not just a story about cancer — it's a wake-up call about life, death, spiritual awakening and the power of living as your truest self.
