Bonjour, bonjour! Zdjęcia i linki: https://www.podcastrowerowy.pl/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/PodkastRowerowyInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/podkastrowerowy/Produkcja Oryginalna Earborne Media https://originals.earbornemedia.com/projects/podcast-rowerowy/Posłuchaj innych serii oryginalnych Earborne Media.

Ferdinand Waldo Demara held a lot of careers in his lifetime: he was a surgeon who successfully amputated a man's leg on a Canadian Naval ship, a Trappist monk, a prison warden, a pastor, and a professor of philosophy. How, you ask, could one man have mastered so many different skills? Well, he didn't. Demara was possibly the greatest conman the world has ever seen and was only found out when his photo was put in a newspaper article commending his good work. Ferdinand Wald Demara didn't like his life, so he decided to live someone else's. Over the next 44 years, he was a Monk, a Soldier, a Sailor, a College Professor, and even a Ship's Surgeon. While pretending to be the Ship's Surgeon, with hardly any medical training, he performed many operations on both crew and prisoners. All of his patients survived. After being discovered as a fraud, he became a Prison Guard, soon being promoted to Assistant Warden. He taught school and set up a college. Later in life, Demara became a Counselor for those in desperate situations. In his final days, he served as a Chaplin. I'll also give a brief account on another imposter, named Frank Abagnale Jr.

Farmers are critically important for sustainable commodities production, yet their voices are too often missing from the debate. At Innovation Forum's sustainable landscapes and commodities conference in December 2021, Rachel Banda, farmer and safety, health and environment officer at the Phata Cooperative in Malawi, Doreen Mtali, farmer from the Demara farming cooperative in Malawi and Zeddy Chepkemoi, a coffee farmer from Kenya, joined Ian Welsh to talk about their perspectives, priorities and challenges.
Using a series of stolen identities -- many of whom were still living -- Ferdinand Waldo Demara, aka Fred Demara, built a lengthy résumé as an imposter. But unlike many other imposters, his goal wasn't money. It was to attain prestige and status. Time magazine called him, we quote, "audacious, unschooled but amazingly intelligent pretender." Ferdinand Demara was known as the "Great Imposter." In his lifetime, he pretended to be a teacher, psychologist, editor, surgeon and so much more. Katie presents this case to Kristi for an analysis of who he really was.
Fred DeMara, clergyman, educator, doctor, full of shit! Demara was a self-congratulatory conman and scumbag. But, despite it all, he may have saved a life, and helped a brotherhood of monks find their way. So strap in; this one gets wild.

The true story about the Great Imposter, Ferdinand Waldo Demara.
When was the last time you verified your college professor's educational background or asked to see your surgeon's medical credentials? If the answer is never, then I have scary news for you: You might have been operated on by historical con-man Ferdinand "Fred" Demara! (Gimme some Halloween noises, Wolf Dick!) I mean it's highly unlikely since he died in 1982 but it was also highly unlikely that this high school dropout would fake his way into so many jobs and positions of power. Hook up your saline solution IV's and join us in the recovery ward as we tell you all about Fred. Hundred Proof Hangovers are short mini-episodes focusing on a smaller topic. John Edmonstone was born into slavery in the former Dutch colony of Demara in the late 1700s but died a free man in Scotland having taught one of the greatest men in the history of science, Charles Darwin, the skill of taxidermy. We speak to Dr Angelina Osborne, independent researcher and heritage consultant and co-author of the upcoming book, 100 Great Black Britons about Edmonstone's life and his remarkable journey from the coastal jungles of Demerara to the cobbles of Edinburgh's old town. And to understand the art taxidermy and the skills that Edmonstone imparted to his pupil, we also talked to Tannis Davidson, curator at UCL's Grant Museum of Zoology and Comparative Anatomy who explains the importance of taxidermy to zoologists like Darwin and why her favourite specimen in the museum isn’t some exotic creature but a common-or garden-taxidermy chicken.Sponsored by Ancestry, this episode of Sky HISTORY's Not What You Thought You Knew is presented by Dr Fern Riddell with production by Kim Sergeant, Peter Ross and Sam Pearson. Ferdinand Demara earned his reputation as the Great Impostor: For over 22 years he criss-crossed the country, posing as everything from an auditor to a zoologist and stealing a succession of identities to fool his employers. In this week's episode of the Futility Closet podcast we'll review Demara's motivation, morality, and techniques -- and the charismatic spell he seemed to cast over others. We'll also make Big Ben strike 13 and puzzle over a movie watcher's cat. Intro: In 1825, Thomas Steele proposed enclosing Isaac Newton's residence in a pyramid surmounted by a stone globe. On this week's episode we tackle the crazy life of Ferdinand Demara who was able to successfully pose as different people throughout each aspect of his life. His list of impersonations include a naval surgeon, a cancer researcher, Trappist monk and even a teacher with nobody knowing his true identity. Interested in helping us out? C’est le roi des imposteurs. Militaire, enseignant, moine, chirurgien. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
In this episode, James and Aaron discover that anything is possible, as long as you're not a millennial!
Ferdinand Demara is quite possibly the greatest con artist you've never heard of. With good reason: he hardly ever used his own name. Demara was a professional impostor. In his long and prolific career, he passed himself off as a surgeon on a warship, an engineer, a college dean, a cancer researcher, a cop. And the list goes on. Demara operated for over fifty years, and impersonated at least fifty people, that we know of… and he got away with all of it. We hope you enjoyed the last episode of this season of The Grift! Battle Resumes, and so do we after our one-off April Fools campaign. Trintych is under attack by a merciless horde of orcs and goblins. After our heroes are wounded in battle, they return to town and meet up with an old companion. Demara may have had a cold dunk in the river, but that didn't cool her lust for battle or her lust for a certain handsome elf. Welcome back our special guest Wes who joins Alyx as Erevan, Keltie as Brilla, Jalyn as Kavra, Coco as Serafina and DM Jarrett as they battle their way through goblins, orcs and the strangest love triangle you've ever seen! zeroD20.com @zeroD20_ facebook.com/zeroD20
Ferdinand Demara took on several bogus personas throughout his imposter career -- everything from a professor to a monk. Demara stole the identities of regular people, and often performed their job duties. Tune in to learn more about the Great Imposter.
