Griffin Warner and Big East Ben talk college basketball for this weekends action. The guys also give out best bets. Summary of "CBB Friday Preview + Best Bets 11/22" This episode of the "Need for Seeds College Basketball Podcast," hosted by Griffin Warner and "Big East Ben," reviews dramatic recent games, including Baylor vs. St. John's, and previews upcoming matchups. It incorporates player and team analyses, betting insights, and predictions. Game Highlights and Insights Baylor vs. St. John's (0:12–7:29) Baylor narrowly defeated St. John's 99–98 in double overtime, despite early struggles against St. John's 72% three-point shooting in the first half. St. John's blocked a dozen shots, revealing Baylor's lack of rim awareness. Scott Drew's timeout mismanagement and reliance on freshman guards highlighted Baylor's struggles to close out the game. Alabama vs. Illinois (7:54–10:29) Alabama scored 103 points without National Player of the Year candidate Mark Sears, who opted to stay benched after recognizing an off night. Nate Oats praised Sears' leadership, sparking debate about competitiveness. Upcoming Matchups Duke vs. Arizona (10:30–14:02): Arizona's home-court dominance and strong shooting favor them against Duke. Wisconsin vs. UCF (14:03–17:38): UCF's rebounding strength challenges Wisconsin's size, making UCF a strong pick as underdogs. Pittsburgh vs. LSU (17:40–21:15): LSU's upset win over Kansas State raises intrigue, but Pitt's efficiency inside makes them favorites. Marquette vs. Georgia (24:57–26:46): Marquette's quality wins and turnover creation edge Georgia despite rebounding disparities. Villanova vs. Maryland (29:19–32:36): Maryland's ability to stifle Villanova's Eric Dixon and exploit Villanova's poor form positions them as favorites. Key Statistics and Analysis Shooting Performance: St. John's first-half three-point dominance (72%) and Wisconsin's free-throw accuracy (88.6%) stood out. Rebounding: UCF's offensive rebounding (35th nationally) is a key advantage against Wisconsin's lack of crash boards. Player Contributions: B.J. Edgecombe (St. John's) was a clutch performer but inconsistent, while Jeremy Roach's (Baylor) turnovers exposed team vulnerabilities. Coaching: Scott Drew's timeout issues and Rick Pitino's masterful handling of St. John's shone. Betting Picks Big East Ben's Pick: Elon (+16.5) vs. Notre Dame – Favorable due to Elon's height (5th tallest team) and strong two-point defense. Griffin Warner's Pick: Wichita State (-3) vs. St. Louis – A stable program likely to capitalize on St. Louis' inconsistencies. Notable Quotes “Scott Drew, you have three timeouts, and you let Roach go ISO... Are you freaking kidding me?” (4:17) – Critique of Baylor's late-game strategy. “Mark Sears knew it wasn't his night and told Nate Oats to leave him out” (8:56) – Alabama's Sears prioritizing team over personal performance. St. John's went on the road and did something they haven't done since 1993, and that's beat Villanova at The Finn. Thanks to Joel Soriano and Daniss Jenkins the Johnnies were able to overcome not having Chris Ledlum, and a new career high by Brady Dunlap made sure of that. Dunlap got his first start as a Johnnie and rewarded Rick Pitino with 12 points in the 2nd half, to finish with 15. It was a solid defensive effort as the Johnnies held Eric Dixon and the Wildcats in check, something they often were unable to do in the past. St. John's is tied for first in the Big East at 3-1 and are now 11-4 on the season.Follow the podcast on Twitter:@EyeonStormPod = Eye on the Storm Podcast#sjubb

This Episode is dedicated to Eric Dixon. A mate of the pod who was taken to soon. The lads dissect the latest NRL round, and the NRLW opening round. The poms cop a bit of a flogging from the lads over their dummy spit. It's a funny old episode that has a good touch of all sports, netball World Cup, some bloke getting paid way too much money to play soccer. It has it all. Hosted on Acast. Eric Dixon is a longtime staple of the Baltimore music scene. From skateboarding early in life to then finding a passion for drums that landed him in some of Baltimore's most reconized bands, like Liqour Bike, to more recently 4 footer and Bastards of Reality. He shares great stories from the early punk days, including shotguning beers with Slayer at The Loft, to being a promotor for Memory Lane, to managing Guitar Centers. We have a great conversation outside of drums as well as some drum geek talk for you drummers. Eric has been an influence for years and was great to get to sit down and learn about his life then and now.
Eric Dixon is a Master Barber out of the DMV! Although he started late, he is an extremely talented barber! During our conversation, Eric talks about taking his mental health serious, finding the right therapist, healing, knowing it was time for a career change, and how mental health can play a major role in relationships, You don't want to miss this episode as Eric is very transparent about his mental health journey.

The Final Four Is Not On The Schedule - A Michigan State Basketball Podcast.
November 19, 2022: The Spartans held on to defeat the Villanova Wildcats 73-71 at the Breslin on a snowy night in East Lansing. After being up 16 with less than 8 minutes to play, Villanova almost came all the way back using key turnovers and opportunistic 3s and free throws to catch up and beat MSU. Fortunately, Tyson Walker was there in the clutch to prevent Michigan State from losing this game as he hit big shot after big shot to keep just enough separation for the win. Mady Sissoko came back down to earth as he was challenged by Villanova's center, Eric Dixon, who scored 24 points playing differently from the previous two matchups that Mady had earlier. Overall, a good quality win for State as they prepare to head out west to the PK85 tournament where they will open up against Alabama. We close the show with a brief discussion about the Big Ten and its non-conference performance which might suggest the league is a little better than anyone thought. Learn more about your ad choices. Change is the only constant in life and our ability to adapt and recalculate determines how we flow with life. If we resist and try to control, we create disharmony within. We must accept and shift to remain in the divine flow of inner peace. With that being said, it is with a heavy heart that we would like to inform you that Eric Dixon will no longer be apart of the Roundtable. He is getting ready to step into fatherhood and he has decided that it is time for him to shift. We wish him all the best as a new dad and perhaps some future appearances as a guest to share how fatherhood is treating him. We will also be shifting, and going a new direction. We ask that you are patient as logistics are being worked out on how to best shift to keep this podcast space moving forward. We're so grateful to have shared these past two years with you and look forward to sharing our light with you again soon!
3rd year players Justin Moore and Eric Dixon join the podcast to talk with Coach Wright about their backgrounds in the fertile high school basketball scenes of DC and Philly, as well as their time on and off the court at Villanova.

Is green (energy) the new black (for oil demand)? Gas demand may fall, but diesel demand more than offsets losses from electrification. Narratives are often written by those in power, but who benefits and what is the impact to oil price? If economic incentives are discouraged to produce traditional energy, how does this impact price and the environment? These topics and more explored by George P. and Eric Dixon, a senior physical and financial oil trader of nearly 20 years.

Thanks to the hard work of advocates, we have gained two committee chairs as co-sponsors: Rep. Frank Pallone (D-NJ-6), the chair of Energy and Commerce, and Rep. Ted Deutch (D-FL-22), chair of the Ethics Committee. Other new sign-ons include Rep. Mike Quigley (D-IL-5), Del. Gregorio Sablan (non-voting member, D-North Mariana Islands), and Rep. Tony Cardenas (D-CA-29). A number of freshman members of Congress also signed on: Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY-16), Rep. Mondaire Jones (D-NY-17), Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY-15), Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO-1), Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez (D-NM-3), Rep. Nikema Williams (D-GA-5), Rep. Marie Newman (D-IL-3), and Rep. Sara Jacobs (D-CA-53). The bill launch event, held virtually, wasn't business as usual. Some representatives spoke about their own experiences living without health insurance. A business owner from Pennsylvania spoke about how hard it was to run a business and administer health insurance for his employees. The bill received its first endorsement from a hospital system CEO, Dr. Eric Dixon of UMass Memorial Hospital System. Also, for the first time, a leader for racial justice, Patrice Cullors, co-founder of Black Lives Matter, addressed healthcare as a racial justice issue. Thanks to the work of constituents on the ground and allied organizations across the country, there has been extensive organizing in every district represented by those 112 co-sponsors. Most folks living in central Appalachia would agree that we need to create a new economy to counter the coal industry’s decline. But the question becomes how? Coalfields residents came together several years ago to propose the RECLAIM Act, federal legislation that would more rapidly release money from the $2.5 billion Abandoned Mine Lands Trust Fund for regional reclamation and redevelopment projects. In this story we hear from Eric Dixon, policy coordinator at Appalachian Citizens Law Center, and Adam Wells who directs Appalachian Voices’ New Economy Program from Norton VA. Both helped write a report that shares concrete examples and ideas for projects in four Appalachian states that could create new economic opportunities using AML pilot project funds and those from the RECLAIM Act if it is passed by Congress.
Jay Wright sits down with freshmen Eric Dixon and Justin Moore to get their thoughts on their first few days at Villanova.
Over the past 6 years residents of coal-impacted communities and supporters across the country have urged Congress to pass the RECLAIM Act. which would invest $1 billion on an accelerated clean up of land and water harmed by abandoned mines, and provide a catalyst for economic development on those sites. This report includes Congressional testimony in support of the RECLAIM Act from Eric Dixon, Appalachian Citizens' Law Center in Kentucky, and Pennsylvania Rep. Matt Cartwright just prior to the bill's reintroduction in the U.S. House of Representatives on April 9, 2019.
"Many Voices, Many Solutions: Innovative Mine Reclamation in Central Appalachia" is a new report that highlights 20 projects across five Appalachian states that would create new economic opportunities in areas with abandoned mine lands. These case studies and similar efforts could be funded by the Abandoned Mine Land Pilot Program, and if passed by Congress, the RECLAIM ACT. Together they have the potential to jump start a "New Deal" in Appalachia. In this episode of WMMT's Mountain Talk two of the report organizers, Eric Dixon from Appalachian Citizens Law Center in Whitesburg KY and Adam Wells with Appalachian Voices' New Economy program in southwestern Virginia, describe the ways in which Abandoned Mine Lands funds could be used for innovative and sustainable development in the region. Also featured are projects in VA, KY and WV that are case studies in the report as examples of innovative reclamation and economic development opportunities.
Citizens from six states traveled to Washington D.C. in late November 2018, to urge their legislators to uphold the fees supporting the Black Lung Disability Trust Fund, and to pass the Reclaim Act. One in 5 miners in our region have Black Lung, and that rate has doubled in the past decade. And yet, as rates of the disease rapidly increase, the Trust Fund that provides benefits and health care is under threat. This Mountain Talk episode features the DC press conference with miners and their families, as well as an interview with retired east Kentucky miner Kenny Fleming and organizer Eric Dixon from Appalachian Citizens' Law Center.
The Black Lung Disability Trust Fund is set to expire on December 31st, 2018. The fund provides crucial support for miners suffering from the disease, as well as widows who have lost their husbands to the disease. In late November a group of citizens from across the country, including right here in eastern KY, traveled to Washington D.C. to urge their representatives to uphold the Trust Fund and to support the Reclaim Act. The trip was put together by organizations across the country, including the Appalachian Citizens Law Center. In this episode we'll hear audio of the press conference itself, and interviews with one of the retired miners who attended, Kenny Fleming, and one of the organizers, Eric Dixon of the ACLC.
The coal industry is on its way out. But whether coal communities experience a just transition is an open question. Josh is joined by Eric Dixon, Coordinator of Policy and Community Engagement at the Appalachian Citizens' Law Center, to talk about the rural development work that is going on in coal country and how they are working to make sure that miners and their communities have the resources to make a just transition that allows Appalachia to thrive in the 21st Century.
Germany is well-known for its historical reliance on coal for energy, but most recently is recognized for its transition to cleaner energy sources, such as renewables. In this Mountain Talk, Dr. Timon Wehnert, an energy expert and researcher based at the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment, and Energy in Berlin shared insights on Germany’s energy transition in general, and specifically about the phase-out of coal, structural change, and transformation in German coal communities. Dr. Wehnert was joined by leaders working on economic transition in Central Appalachia, including: MACED (Mountain Association for Community Economic Development) Vice President Betsy Whaley and Eric Dixon with Appalachian Citizens Law Center.
