There is a message coming from beyond the stars, a communication emanating from the Timeless Realm to those lost somewhere in time, a gospel calling out to us from outside the multiverse and lower planes of creation. Today we explore his teachings including satsang commentary on verses of the Sar Bachan Radhasoami Poetry, a key Sant Mat spiritual classic. This particular discourse of Baba Somanath is quite informative about the role of the mind or ego acting as an extension of universal mind called "the Kal Niranjan" and also known as "the Demiurge", the negative power, lord of illusion, great deceiver.   Somanath Prays...   "You are the Lord and Friend of the lowly ones."   "Shower Your grace upon me. Today's topic is bear guidance. Bear medicine is the power of inner knowing…the power of introspection. To become like the bear is to attune with the energy of silence. Like entering into a cave, and the place of inner knowing where the answers lie. In some Native American cultures this is called the “Dream Lodge”. Also labeled as the “Great Void”, where solutions and answers dwell. Each and every living being has the capacity to look inside, a capacity to quiet the mind and enter the silence of knowing… this is the power of the bear. In seeing, or in choosing the bear as your sign or a symbol, you are choosing to seek the honey of sweetness in life, walking the path of silence, calming the internal chatter, and being reborn in the bright light of spring with strength to overcome life's challenges. Bear ... Invite me Into the cave Where silence surrounds The answers you gave. The strength of Bear medicine is the power of introspection. It lies in the West on the great medicine wheel of life. Bear seeks honey, or the sweetness of truth, within the hollow of an old tree. In the winter, when the Ice Queen reigns and the face of death is upon the Earth, Bear enters the womb-cave to hibernate, digest the year's experience. It is said that our goals reside in the West also. To accomplish the goals and dreams that we carry, the art of introspection is necessary. To become like Bear and enter the safety of the womb-cave, we must attune ourselves to the energies of the Eternal Mother, and receive nourishment from the placenta of the Great Void. The Great Void is the place where all solutions and answers live in harmony with the questions that fill our realities. If we choose to believe that there are many questions to life, we must also believe that the answers to these questions reside within us. Each and every being has the capacity to quiet the mind, enter the silence, and know. Many tribes have called this space of inner-knowing the Dream Lodge, where the death of the illusion of physical reality overlays the expansiveness of eternity. It is in the Dream Lodge that our ancestors sit in Council and advise us regarding alternative pathways that lead to our goals. This is the power of Bear. The female receptive energy that for centuries has allowed visionaries, mystics, and shamans to prophesy is contained in this very special Bear energy. In India, the cave symbolizes the cave of Brahma. Brahma's cave is considered to be the pineal gland that sits in the center of the four lobes of the brain. If one were to imagine an overview of the head, the top of it would be a circle. The South would be the forehead, the North the back of the skull, the West would be the right brain, and the East the left brain. Bear is in the West, the intuitive side, the right brain. To hibernate, Bear travels to the cave, which is the center of the four lobes where the pineal gland resides. In the cave, Bear seeks answers while he/she is dreaming or hibernating. Bear is then reborn in the spring, like the opening of spring flowers. For eons, all seekers of the Dreamtime and of visions have walked the path of silence, calming the internal chatter, reaching the place of rites of passage - the channel or pineal gland. From the cave of Bear, you find the pathway to the Dream Lodge and the other levels of imagination or consciousness. In choosing Bear, the power of knowing has invited you to enter the silence and become acquainted with the Dream Lodge, so that your goals may become concrete realities. This is the strength of Bear.

Soami Ji Maharaj in Daswan Dwar (Third Heaven) and Exploring the Great Dark Void of Maha-Sunn -- From the Sar Bachan Radhasoami Poetry:   "...There are innumerable palaces made of crystal and diverse spirits inhabit them and are settled there in accordance with the allotments made by the Lord, and they see the peculiar mutual display which is so blissful, and in turn they also establish their own plays and sports. In Hindi, these spirits are described as 'circles of hansas' (purified spirits). The engravings and the designs carved in these spheres are to be seen in order to be believed. The entire dispensation and workshop there is purely spiritual; it is not at all gross or material.   "Spirits dwelling there are characterized by excessive delicacy, subtlety, refinement and purity; they don't have a trace of physical coarseness and impurity. The details of this sphere are known only to the faqirs. ['Full particulars of these regions are known only to Sants' -- Maheshwari translation.] To unfold more about it is not proper and advisable. For a long time the spirit of this faqir (i.e. Soamiji Maharaj Himself) sauntered and stayed there and then under instructions from the Teachers and Guides, moved ahead.   "Moving on and on, the spirit soared up about through an incalculable height and broke into the realm of Ha-hoot or Maha-sunn and sauntered around it. How shall I describe it? For ten billion miles (again, incalculable distance) there is utter darkness. How shall I describe its depth, except to say that for one kharab (1 kharab = 100 billion, i.e. incalculable extent) jojans, the soul descended and yet its bottom could not be discovered; then again it reversed and turned upward, and following the track pointed by the sages, the spirit treaded that path and then it was deemed improper to determine and find out the depth of this dark region.   "The surat [soul] then moved on..."   Commentary on the Maha-Sunn Passage Above by Sant Gharib Das of the Radhasoami Faith:    "Soamiji in his Discourses has said that his surat descended into the dark regions of Maha-sunn but could neither locate the bottom or the end of it nor did it feel it worthwhile to go down any further. Thereafter, his surat [soul] adhering to the signs as revealed to him by his Gurus ascended upwards. Here Soamiji says that it was the inner Mercy of his Satguru Tulsi Saheb and that of Maharaj Girdhari Das Ji [a successor of Sant Tulsi Sahib] whose Satsang he attended for a very long period of time." Buddha’s teaching includes both arising and cessation, avoiding both eternalist and nihilist extremes. This is idappaccayatā, the insight that illuminates the Middle Way: “Thus: This being—this comes to be; with the arising of this—this arises. This not being—this does not come to be; with the cessation of this—this ceases.” — Udāna 1, the Bodhisuttas Because Nibbāna is sometimes called sabbasaṅkhārāsamatha—the stilling of all saṅkhārā—some prematurely conclude that the attainment of cessation of perceptions and feeling, saññā-vedayitanirodha, is itself Nibbāna. But no: it is upon emerging from that attainment, which is like stasis or a deep freeze, that one contacts the three deliverances: the signless (animitta), the desireless (appanihita), and the void (suññata). This is full attainment of Nibbāna: “Friend Visākha, when a monk has emerged from the attainment of the cessation of perceptions and feelings, three kinds of contact touch him: voidness contact, signless contact, desireless contact.” —Cūlavedalla Sutta Therefore, the Buddha’s view is that not just tranquillity, but tranquillity with insight and wisdom leads to Nibbāna. After cessation, saṅkhārā cease because the tendency to grasp the false sign of eternality in the saṅkhārā is done away with. The ‘sign’ in the saṅkhārā is the illusion of permanence: eternalism or sanātana-dharma. The term saṅkhārā suggests a pretense sustained by an effort of imagination. The illusion of a future facilitates the deceptive nature of saṅkhārā, just like a magician’s costume, stagecraft and prestidigitation enable him to fool the audience. The false promise of permanence and continuation supports desire, expectations and aspirations for objects. So for the Desireless Deliverance to come about, that false sign of eternalism has to cease together with desire. Saṅkhārā cease when signlessness is experienced, and viññāna nirodha, cessation of conditioned consciousness, follows immediately. Then duality ceases, one sees conditioned phenomenal existence as essenseless and void, and one’s consciousness becomes objectless. This is the Great Void recommenced by Śiva as the best object of meditation. The same result is attained when one sees the Dhamma as akāliko, timeless. There is no past to remember, therefore no vāsanas (mental tendencies or inertia) arise. There is no future to desire, therefore no scope for saṅkhārā: ontic commitments, expectations and aspirations based on a false promise of continuity. The perception of impermanence arising from timelessness-view automatically leads to realization of voidness. “Monks, the perception of impermanence, when developed and intensively practised, exhausts all attachments to sensuality, exhausts all attachments to form, exhausts all attachments to existence, exhausts all ignorance, exhausts all conceits of an ‘am’, and eradicates them completely.” — Aniccasaññāsutta Although great Vedic sages in recent times like Śankarācārya, Rāmana Mahārshi and Chandrasekharendra Sarasvatī were certainly enlightened, they had no alternative than to express their insights in eternalist Vedic terminology. Consequently their disciples had difficulty making the leap from phenomenal time to the timeless, from saṅkhārā to cessation, from phenomenal existence to the Void. Therefore after the disappearance of these sages, their dispensations very quickly decayed into various forms of dogmatic dualism. But it is a well-known historical fact that the Buddha’s dispensation maintained full potency, giving rise to an abundance of fully-realized Arahants for over a thousand years after his parinibbāna. This is because the Buddha’s Dhamma is established in timelessness from the very beginning.
