Have you ever wondered where demons actually come from, or what Jesus really meant when He mentioned the "gates of hell"? In this eye-opening message, Elliott Warren dives deep into Genesis 6 to answer the questions most churches never talk about. We often read past the strangest parts of the Bible, but those details hold the key to understanding the spiritual warfare around us. In this sermon, we explore the origins of the Nephilim (giants) and how the "sons of God," or watcher angels, abandoned their heavenly posts to descend upon Mount Hermon. By examining biblical history and the Book of Enoch, we uncover how these hybrid beings corrupted the earth and why their spirits are linked to demonic activity today. More importantly, this message reveals the incredible victory of Christ. Discover why Jesus specifically chose the base of Mount Hermon—known historically as the terrestrial headquarters of evil—to declare that "the gates of hell shall not prevail." You will learn how the Mount of Transfiguration was a literal declaration of war against dark forces, proving that Jesus came to reverse the curse and reclaim dominion over the earth. 00:00:00 Introduction & The Move of God 00:01:20 A Special Father's Day Message 00:03:30 Opening the Mystery: Angels, Aliens & Nephilim 00:19:16 Genesis 6: The Sons of God and Daughters of Men 00:23:40 Who Were the Watchers? This episode originally aired February 8, 2015. Contemporary theologian and author Father Richard Rohr discusses how we can reconnect to our true self by overcoming the many ways in which our ego blocks our path. A Franciscan priest for more than 40 years and founder of the Center for Action and Contemplation in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Father Richard has firsthand understanding of how silence and meditation, deeper spiritual intuition and the inherent experience of love can lead to transformational discoveries within oneself. According to Father Richard, within each of us lies the true self and the false self. The true self, he says, is what religion often calls the soul—your eternal essence. The false self is the persona you create for yourself. Father Richard believes your goal in life is to find and manifest your true self. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Send us a textAs a father and son doing a podcast we're keenly aware of the bond that baseball can bring to a family. We loved talking with a real live recent (and possibly future) MLB player and his father about their relationship and journeys in baseball. What's it like playing #MLB today? How hard is it to hit today's pitchers and get out Major League hitters? John Sr. is on a book tour with his latest release "Diamond Duels" which we recommend highly. He's also written "Last Time Out" and a non-baseball book "Nashua" which is where he hailed from but it' not about his childhood. Jr. grew up in Tallahassee and always wanted to be a baseball player for Florida State and he did that and so much more - while his Dad covered the team for the local paper. They go by 'Nogo' and the 'Big Nogowski' thing is fun and done for a charity which John Jr. relates. Father's Day and baseball - they go together so well! Dr. Wilner would love your feedback! Click here to send a text! Thanks! Many thanks to Franklyn Rocha, MD, a fellow neurologist and with an unusual locum tenens practice. He is a clinical neurophysiologist and neurohospitalist consultant and Chief Executive Officer/Owner of IRD Neuroanalysis, Inc. Dr. Rocha does in-person neurology consults at Harbor-UCLA Hospital near his home but primarily works as a telemedicine physician from the first floor of his townhouse! Dr. Rocha is also a new father of a healthy, bouncing, baby boy. Prior to his son's birth, Frank had been thinking a lot about fatherhood. He published an essay on KevinMD.com about how difficult it can be for physician fathers to be physically present with a newborn. He cites academic demands, peer pressure from other physicians, lack of paid paternal leave, and the tradition of putting patients first as formidable obstacles that discourage new physician fathers from taking parental leave. It's clear that Frank intends to be a successful physician and entrepreneur, but he also didn't want to miss out on the unique experience of fatherhood. During our 30-minute podcast, Frank explained how owning his own business and working telemedicine allowed him to spend nearly four months of parental leave with his wife and newborn son. For physicians with the added challenge of a special needs child, parenting demands are even greater. For these physicians, David Hirsch's “Special Father's Network” offers valuable resources. Happy Father's Day to all the Dads! In this special solo episode, Julien offers a heartfelt and inspiring look into the actual experience of fatherhood. He gives a refreshing perspective on fatherhood and opens up about his own journey, sharing a powerful message of presence, growth, and the role of a dad.Julien takes us on a personal exploration, revealing he wasn't always the father he is today. He describes a past "oblivious" phase where fatherhood wasn't even on his radar, and gets real about the whole “I thought I could plan for this thing” (spoiler alert: you can't)Julien also explores moving beyond traditional notions of being just a provider, sharing how his journey into fatherhood has led him to confront his own limitations and learn the importance of embracing the present. He talks about how he actively strives to be a role model, coach, confidante, and even a punching bag for his son. He's honest about the challenges, but there's a real sense of joy and wonder in his voice when he talks about constantly evolving as a dad.If you're a dad, or even thinking about becoming one, this is the episode for you. It's a reminder that being present, being there for your kid, even in the messy, crazy, exhausting moments is the real gift Connect with Julien and Kiersten on our website, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.Join our email list to get updates from us, opportunities for discounts, freebies and a quick rundown on the relevant financial and career news impacting your life. Author, Mitchell Nathanson Discusses His Newest Book, Under Jackie's Shadow and Chef Ray Sheehan Presents A Special Father's Day Gift Guide Mitchell Nathanson is a Professor of Law at Villanova University and the author of numerous books and articles on baseball. He is a two-time winner of the McFarland-SABR Award, presented in recognition of the best historical or biographical baseball articles of the year. He returns to the show to discuss his newest book, Under Jackie's Shadow: Voices of Black Minor Leaguers Baseball Left Behind. "Under Jackie's Shadow is a portal to the hidden world of Minor League baseball in the era just after Jackie Robinson signed with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. It features "oral histories of Black minor league baseball players who played in the post-Jackie Robinson era, from the 1960s to the mid-1970s, who were figuratively and literally left behind as both baseball and the country claimed a newfound racial progressiveness." "The players' experiences in baseball's Minor Leagues in the 1960s and 1970s do not comport with the largely celebratory tales the leagues like to tell about themselves. The Black Minor League players remained largely invisible men—most of whom couldn't be named by even the most devoted baseball followers. Based on Mitchell Nathanson's interviews, Under Jackie's Shadow uses the players' own words to tell the unvarnished story of what it was like to be a Black baseball player navigating the wilds of professional baseball's Minor Leagues following the integration of the Major Leagues. Harrowing, beautiful, and maddening, these stories are vital to our understanding of race not only in baseball but in the United States as a whole." Ray Sheehan also known as Chef Ray is an award winning maker of barbecue sauces and rubs as well as an award winning cookbook author. He has been a frequent guest and co-host on this show and presents a special Father's Day Gift Guide. A Franciscan friar for more than 40 years and founder of The Center for Action and Contemplation in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Father Rohr shares why he believes the essential function of religion is to radically connect humanity with the world around us and why “Christ” is another name for everything.
